The US Is About To Plunge Into A New Recession

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Gary Shilling, from Business Insider): “…Shilling writes that ‘consumer spending is the only major source of strength in the U.S. economy this year,’ but now all signs point to retrenchment:

“While consumers should be “reduc[ing] debt and rebuild[ing] net worth, they have been doing the opposite lately. …”

“Last but not least, Shilling says the clamor for a new age of ‘Nifty Fifty’ stocks demonstrates that investors are actually quite skeptical of the recovery, preferring instead to place safe bets on companies with such ‘wonderful long-term growth prospects that investors could simply buy them and never worry about selling.’

“He explains: ‘The zeal for Apple, whose share price is up more than 50 percent this year alone and is almost double its year-ago level. …’

“Not to mention that the possibility of renewed crisis in Europe and a hard landing in China—compounded by a decline in demand for Chinese products from Europe—continue to hang heavy on prospects for the global economy.

“Thus, he concludes, a new recession is inevitable: ‘The U.S. economy is overdue for a recession. I believe that it entered the down phase of the long cycle in 2000, and the five to seven years that remain in the age of deleveraging are part of this period of weak economic growth and more frequent recessions.’”

My Comment: By the way, the crisis didn’t disappear anywhere, all of its ups and downs are the temporary hiding and manipulation of records; it’s no more than a temporary reviving of the dying—the world economy of network marketing, which will collapse without constant expansion!

Three Times Global GDP

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from My Budget 360): “The global debt problem was never really solved but papered over with extensions and banking trickery. The US has dealt with much of the debt issues by suspending major accounting rules and stuffing bad loans into the Federal Reserve like a Christmas stocking. The European Union is facing some challenges ahead and all eyes will be watching given the impact of contagion impacts. …

“These kinds of structural issues cannot be peppered over with more debt. … In 2002 total global debt was above $80 trillion. In 2010 that figure more than doubled to over $190 trillion. …

“Today the global debt to GDP ratio is over 300 percent. You will notice that as the crisis hit in 2007 GDP actually fell but total debt kept going up.

[The USA debt] “has gone from roughly $6 trillion in 2000 to a stunning $15.2 trillion. At some point people will collectively begin waking up and realize none of this debt will be paid back. Not exactly a pleasant realization.”

My Comment: The impact will be strong and in order to deflect it, a war will be created somewhere in the world, or a catastrophe, scam, or terrorist act; otherwise, the rulers will not be able to be justified.

If You Want To Be Happy, Then Just Let It Be!

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Wall Street Journal): “The relentless pursuit of happiness may be doing us more harm than good.

“Some researchers say happiness as people usually think of it—the experience of pleasure or positive feelings—is far less important to physical health than the type of well-being that comes from engaging in meaningful activity. Researchers refer to this latter state as ‘eudaimonic well-being.’

“Some of the newest evidence suggests that people who focus on living with a sense of purpose as they age are more likely to remain cognitively intact, have better mental health and even live longer than people who focus on achieving feelings of happiness.

“In fact, in some cases, too much focus on feeling happy can actually lead to feeling less happy, researchers say.

“The pleasure that comes with, say, a good meal, an entertaining movie or an important win for one’s sports team—a feeling called ‘hedonic well-being’—tends to be short-term and fleeting. Raising children, volunteering or going to medical school may be less pleasurable day to day. But these pursuits give a sense of fulfillment, of being the best one can be, particularly in the long run.

“’Eudaimonia’ is a Greek word associated with Aristotle and often mistranslated as ‘happiness’—which has contributed to misunderstandings about what happiness is. Some experts say Aristotle meant “well-being” when he wrote that humans can attain eudaimonia by fulfilling their potential. Today, the goal of understanding happiness and well-being, beyond philosophical interest, is part of a broad inquiry into aging and why some people avoid early death and disease. Psychologists investigating eudaimonic versus hedonic types of happiness over the past five to 10 years have looked at each type’s unique effects on physical and psychological health.…

“For instance, symptoms of depression, paranoia and psychopathology have increased among generations of American college students from 1938 to 2007, according to a statistical review published in 2010 in Clinical Psychology Review. Researchers at San Diego State University who conducted the analysis pointed to increasing cultural emphasis in the U.S. on materialism and status, which emphasize hedonic happiness, and decreasing attention to community and meaning in life, as possible explanations.…

“Simply engaging in activities that are likely to promote eudaimonic well-being, such as helping others, doesn’t seem to yield a psychological benefit if people feel pressured to do them, according to a study Dr. Ryan and a colleague published last year in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. ‘When people say, “In the long-run, this will get me some reward,” that person doesn’t get as much benefit,’ he says…

“Being happy doesn’t mean feeling elated all the time. Deep stress is bad, but the ‘I don’t have enough time’ stress that many people feel while balancing work, family and other demands may not be so bad, Dr. Diener says. To improve feelings of happiness and eudaimonia, focus on relationships and work that you love, Dr. Diener says, adding, ‘Quit sitting around worrying about yourself and get focused on your goals.’”

My Comment: Since we are in the power of one force of nature, then to the extent of similarity to it, we fall under its good influence, which is manifested at all the levels of the body and psyche, as well as the environment.

Financiers Are Still Hoping!

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (George Soros, financier): “The fundamental problems have not been resolved; indeed, the gap between creditor and debtor countries continues to widen. The crisis has entered what may be a less volatile but more lethal phase…Whether or not the euro endures, Europe is facing a long period of economic stagnation or worse… But the European Union is not a country, and it is unlikely to survive. The deflationary debt trap threatens to destroy a still-incomplete political union.

“The only way to escape the trap is to recognise that current policies are counterproductive and change course.”

My Comment: Soros is still hoping for some solution and he gives advice. The financiers are playing like the carried-away players for whom the game is important although its outcome has been already predetermined—their collective loss! The power of money is gradually being replaced with the power of global connection.

“Economic Gloom Deepens Europe’s Political Crisis”

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Marcus Walker and Charles Forelle, from The Wall Street Journal): “Around Europe, many voters, politicians and investors are fretting about economic weakness and high debts, and searching for the right balance between growth and fiscal discipline. A divide is growing between a German-led camp that argues that there is no alternative to austerity for all, and critics who say the strategy is pushing the euro zone into a downward spiral.”

My Comment: This is because the integration must either be complete or not; there is no halfway independence, virginity, or love! A lack of preparation of society in the form of integral upbringing will be manifested more strongly until it is implemented or until they run away, only this is terrible to imagine because it wouldn’t be done in a nice way!

Skrastas.lt: The Sage Taught Survival In A Global World

In the News (from Skrastas.lt): The following article was published on the Lithuanian portal, skrastas.lt:

“The Sage Taught Survival In A Global World, March 23, 2012, Irena Budrienė.

“Professor of Ontology and epistemology, a member of The World Wisdom Council, and the founder and director of the ARI Institute in Israel Michael Laitman, who visited Siauliai, suggested a new approach to teaching not only children, but also adults. He signed a cooperation agreement with Šiauliai University.

“The hall of the university library was packed. Although the visit of the thinker was announced modestly, extra chairs were needed in the hall of the library of Šiauliai University because there were so many people who wanted to listen to the professor’s lecture on integral education.

“It seems the ideas of Michael Laitman were not new to the people of Šiauliai. The majority of those gathered have read his books and heard about the method of integral education, encouraging not to stop one’s education throughout life.

“‘The world has changed. Our planet is not able to satisfy consumer, egoistic needs of a human being, so we have no other choice but to adapt to this,’ said the sage. With a decrease in consumption, there be no need for such big production; a person won’t have to work from dawn to dusk.

“The professor suggests that the army of unemployed that is growing rapidly should be occupied: invited to universities and taught harmony with the world, with the environment. “‘Anyway, the unemployed have to be paid unemployment benefits. It is better to pay a stipend, preserving the dignity of people, to give them knowledge and hope. Indeed, after several years of unemployment, people are not able to return to the labor market and remain productive members of society,’ Michael Laitman explained.

“He warned of the danger if the turned-down people are not reached for. In this case, there is a threat of catastrophe and global outbreaks of uncontrolled aggression.

Mutual Responsibility In The United States

The ideas of mutual responsibility and the integral method of education and upbringing are expanding and spreading in the U.S.  More people are joining and remaining in our system of dissemination.

So far, sixteen virtual seminars about integral unity have been held. New people are joining in these seminars in increasing numbers. Also, successful actions of distributing printed material with the messages of mutual responsibility and integral upbringing to the public were carried out in seven US cities, including Washington DC and St. Louis.
