“80% Of The Gold The World Owns Doesn’t Exist”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Wealth Wire): “Chris Powell, Secretary and Treasurer of the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee told Bernie Lo on CNBC Asia overnight that central banks are continuing to manipulate the gold market as they are interested in supporting government bonds and the dollar and keeping interest rates low. Powell warns about ‘paper gold’ and says that we ‘try to persuade investors that if they are purchasing gold, they had better get real gold – metal.

“’They should not get ‘paper gold’ and keep it within the banking system.’ He says that ‘there is huge naked short position in gold’ and estimates that perhaps ‘75% to 80% of the gold that the world thinks it owns does not exist and is just a claim on a bullion bank that is underwritten basically by the central banks.’

“With regard to price Powell said that he does not make predictions but he wonders ‘what the value or the price of gold will be if the world ever discovers that 80% of the gold that it thinks it owns – does not exist.’

“’There may not be enough zeros in the world to put behind the gold price then.’

“Powell said that buyers should own gold in ‘your hand’ or in allocated format outside of the banking system.”

My Comment: That’s when people will die for metal! There are plenty of bubbles around us, and there is only one opportunity to blow them away: to introduce integral education and upbringing. It will create in people the correct attitude towards oneself and the world, will allow us to re-establish our relationships and our attitude to the values: personal (food, sex, and family) and social (wealth, power, and knowledge). Their correct combination in each of us will create a possibility for our unity as cogwheels in one integral mechanism, one community in which everyone will feel fulfilled and not deprived by others.

Healthcare For One’s Pocket

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Dawn): “Indian pharmaceutical tycoon Yusuf Hamied revolutionised AIDS treatment more than a decade ago by supplying cut-price drugs to the world’s poor – and now he wants to do the same for cancer.

“Hamied, 76, was pilloried by Western drug giants 11 years ago when he broke their monopoly by offering to supply life-saving triple therapy AIDS drug cocktails for under $1 a day – one-thirtieth the price of the multinationals.

The firms branded him an intellectual property thief while he accused them of being ‘global serial killers’ whose high prices were costing the lives of AIDS patients.

“In 1972, India made only the process for making drugs patentable, not the drugs themselves. This meant firms could ‘reverse-engineer’ or change methods used to make medicines and sell them at up to one-fiftieth of US prices. …

“But in 2005, India brought its law in line with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules recognising 20-year patents, pushing up the prices of newly launched drugs.”

My Comment: It is not surprising that a healthcare system in any country is only a hidden means of collecting taxes and feeding trough for its supportors. This happens to any egoistic system and to any altruistic initiative that quickly turns egoistic if it doesn’t include integral education and upbringing.

United Europe Turns To Fascism

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Yuri Gavrilechko, Strategic Culture Foundation): “The fifth year of the global financial crisis reveals the inability of existing institutions to overcome the crisis on the basis of the dominant neo-liberal ideology. Capitalism, as it turned out, is also unable to cope with the problems, generated by it, as once feudalism or socialism of the Soviet kind. As a result, in the near future, we will be able to observe a combination of the old ideological concepts and possibly the birth of new forms and patterns of social organization.

“The failure of multiculturalism in Europe and the strengthening of the crisis have already led to an increase in support for nationalism and socialism. … Because as opposed to socialism, professing internationalism and brotherhood of nations, Fascism and National Socialism was based on the idea of exclusive supremacy of one race over another; it is more logical that they would lay the basis for a pan-European identity. …

“The peculiarity of pan-European fascism might be a symbiosis with the leftists and even the radical left-wing tendencies. … The situation in Germany in 1933 was largely similar to the one that has developed now in Greece, Spain, Portugal, and will very soon become a reality for most EU countries…. Another factor contributing to the popularity of fascism will be the growth of left sentiments in society and the possible reincarnation of communist slogans.”

My Comment: According to Kabbalah, if humanity doesn’t head towards its correction along the good path, it will come to it through the path of suffering that will bring us fascist regimes and global nuclear war that they would start from the powerlessness to overcome the crisis.

Sleep Prepares The Brain To Process New Information

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Giulio Tononi, psychologist, the University of Wisconsin-Madison): “Without sleep, humans become irritable, inefficient and accident prone – but how sleep heals us still isn’t fully understood.

“Psychologist Giulio Tononi of the University of Wisconsin-Madison thinks he has the answer to what our brains are doing as we sleep.

“His theory is that the brain ‘resets’ itself – breaking connections made during the day so that the brain wakes up ‘fresh’ and ready to learn and process more information.

“Brain wave activity is particularly strong during sleep – a sign, Tononi thinks, that the brain is ‘wiping out’ unnecessary impressions.

“The brain literally ‘unwinds’ during sleep – wiping itself clean in much the same way as a computer reboots. …

His understanding of the brain and how it ‘rewires’ itself may also lead to a deeper understanding of what consciousness itself is.

“‘Sleep may be the price you pay so your brain can be plastic the next day,’ says Tononi in one of his papers on the subject.

“His hypothesis is that sleep allows the brain to regroup after a hard day of learning by giving the synapses, which increase in strength during the day, a chance to damp down to baseline levels.

“Sleep may also be important for consolidating new memories, and to allow the brain to ‘forget’ the random, unimportant impressions of the day, so there is room for more learning the next day.”

My Comment: Kabbalah has talked about this work of the brain during sleep for several thousand years. In addition, it explains how the process of wiping off, processing, and storing of information occurs, the reason for dreams as experiences during the day (fast-forwarding of information) and other resets

The End Of The Game

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (John Mauldin, President of Millennium Wave Securities): “The reality is they’ve got a massive trade imbalance in Europe. The Southern countries want the Germans to finance it. The Germans want a fiscal Union with control over the budgets. I don’t know how it’s going to turn out, they don’t either, but it is coming to an end.

“What we’re seeing is the real end game. We’re coming to the end of government’s ability to borrow money to fund current spending that’s beyond the growth of their economy.

“I actually find that massively bullish because that government funding misallocates capital. So governments are going to have to live within their means. Not just in European countries, not just in Britain, not just in Japan which has its own problems that will be coming to us next year, not just in France which will be the headline in 2 years, but also in the US. …

“Debt has been renegotiated, it’s been printed, defaulted upon, restructured. There are all sorts of ‘re’ words we talk about, but it’s default by another name. It’s what happens if you as an individual have more debt and you have more than you can possibly pay, you have to restructure something or file bankruptcy.

“That’s where Western governments are. They’ve run out of the ability to borrow money to finance their current consumption. This is a good thing that it’s coming to an end. I don’t see this as negative in the longer-term. It’s still going to be a bumpy ride for the markets. It’s certainly going to be (an interesting) ride for the business as usual crowd.”

My Comment: The solution seems simple, proven, but it is not so; we are dealing with the restructuring of society; nature will try us until we recognize the bankruptcy of our egoistic attitude towards the world and the need to change it. We will have to pay not by cutting budgets, but by changing ourselves.

America Is No Longer The Land Of Opportunity

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel prize-winning economist): “U.S. inequality is at its highest point for nearly a century. Those at the top – no matter how you slice it – are enjoying a larger share of the national pie; the number below the poverty level is growing. The gap between those with the median income and those at the top is growing, too. The U.S. used to think of itself as a middle-class country – but this is no longer true. …

“Textbooks teach us that we can have a more egalitarian society only if we give up growth or efficiency. However, closer analysis shows that we are paying a high price for inequality: it contributes to social, economic and political instability, and to lower growth. Western countries with the healthiest economies (for example those in Scandinavia) are also the countries with the highest degree of equality. …

“America used to be thought of as the land of opportunity. Today, a child’s life chances are more dependent on the income of his or her parents than in Europe, or any other of the advanced industrial countries for which there are data. The U.S. worked hard to create the American dream of opportunity. But today, that dream is a myth.”

My Comment: While egoism reigned, America was a country of great (egoistic) opportunities, but since egoism ceased its development and became a crisis, the US has entered the crisis (of egoism), and to get out of it means to correct the egoism of the individual and society to integral relationship (love and bestowal). As soon as we get down to this, we will immediately find out that we have made the only right choice.

Roundtable Toronto 6-28-2012

On June 28, 2012, the Mutual Responsibility Toronto group successfully organized the first round table in Toronto. The topic of the roundtable was “The relationship between people in light of the global crisis.”

The discussion began at the central roundtable that was attended by:

Ryan Dyment (the Zeitgeist Movement, Toronto), Executive Director of the Institute for a Resource-Based Economy, which distributes materials that help one understand the dependent nature of the modern economy, a holistic view of the future of humanity and its relationship with the environment;

Trey Winney, a senior organizer with Occupy Toronto;

Barbara Elizabeth Mercer, author, poet, and visual artist who since 1962 has completed work for TVOntario, CBC, the Canadian Opera Company, and the National Ballet of Canada, among others;

Julian Edwards, active member and spokesperson for Mutual Responsibility;

Eric Hellman, communications coach, writer, and consultant, whose past projects include co-coordinating the Sustainability Roundtable at the UN-Habitat World Urban Forum (Vancouver), co-organizing the first Spirituality at Work conference in Toronto, organizing the UN International Day of Peace event at the World’s Fair, and co-founding the first Blue Box recycling program and the Recycling Council of Ontario;

Tom Cooper, Director of the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction.

Patrick Legault, representative of Mutual Responsibility, Toronto.

After the central roundtable answered and discussed questions from the audience, all the participants participated at the roundtables discussions by answering two questions:

  1. What are the two core values that you think should be at the head of our society in the 21st century?
  2. What am I personally willing to do in order to begin this transition to a new, positive environment?

Impressions from the roundtable participants included:

  • There was a feeling that those who were present there were not only ready for this event, but were waiting for it for a very, very long time. The roundtable participants said that it was the only right platform for everyone that allows one to be heard and to listen to others, to gather all that we have at one roundtable. People were very happy at the end of the evening and asked when our next meeting would take place. At the roundtable, there was a very precise feeling of how the world is becoming united, and everything that we have heard and learned thus far, suddenly became very practical.
  • How can I explain what stands and hides behind the words? How can I convey the thought and feeling, which is deeper than the deepest social discussions and topics? It is impossible to convey, it is necessary to feel. Our answers are in the roots of our relationship with each other.
  • Many thanks to all who put so much effort in organizing the roundtable yesterday! Everything was thought out, starting from paper and pencils on the tables, water and cookies, to the logistics, videos, moderators … As a result, all the participants felt our united intention. It was wonderful to see the faces and hear the voices of speakers who wanted to express the feelings that we wanted to convey to everyone.

“Racism Is ‘Hardwired’ Into The Human Brain”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from the MailOnline): “Racism is hardwired into the brain, and people can be prejudiced without knowing it, say scientists – and it operates unconsciously.

“The same circuits in the brain that allow us to see which ethnic group a person belongs to overlap with others that drive emotional decisions.

“The result is that even right-thinking individuals make unconscious decisions based on a person’s race.

“Brain scans have proved that interactions with people of other ethnic backgrounds set off reactions that may be completely unknown to our conscious selves.

“The finding may force researchers to think about racism in entirely new ways.

“It’s possible, the researchers say, that even right-thinking, ‘egalitarian’ people could harbour racist attitudes without knowing.

“The chemicals involved in perceiving ethnic backgrounds overlap with those for processing emotion and making decisions, according to new research.”

My Comment: It is impossible to rebuild the brain; humanity will suffer from its nature; we can blame it for all our evil inclinations, and thus the solution is possible only in the correction of our egoistic nature. It can be changed only with the force that has created us and that develops us, our egoism.

Today, we have reached the height of egoistic development, and that is why we can reveal the finiteness of our development. We face a dead end that can become the point of our birth in new qualities. This birth if pre-programmed. Only that path towards it is not programmed; it can be through sufferings or conscious, like with a stubborn child. Only the transformation of our very nature will change us and our whole life. First, we need to recognize that human development is negative!

Roundtable Barcelona 06-22-2012

On June 22nd, the first roundtable meeting between the representatives of the movement Juntos Nos Movemos and the representatives of the local media took place in one of the central urban centers of Barcelona (Spain). The topic of the meeting was “The media: a mechanism for social change.” The discussion was broadcast in the interactive mode on the website of the movement Juntos Nos Movemos. (There were 217 connections around the country.)

Participants in the roundtable discussion included: Robin Greer (Irish journalist, Belfast newspaper the Ulster News Letter, Barcelona), Enrique Ordeisch (academic director of Global Strategic Communication School of Journalism and Communications, private University, Barcelona), Elena Garcia (teacher in a Spanish school, Madrid), Enrique Ordeisch (academic director of Global Strategic Communication School of Journalism and Communications, Barcelona), Edna Panting Crespo (Honduran national, writer, living in Barcelona, a writer), Rosa Bales (representative of the movement JNM, Barcelona), Carlos Pourrat (moderator Roundtable, a representative of the movement JNM, Huesca).

The parties spoke about the role and influence of the media on changing social values of the population and the urgent need for open, close collaboration between the media and society. The discussion took place in a suddenly warm and sincere atmosphere with plenty of interesting ideas. It should be noted that there was a constructive and hearty conversation without political declarations and mutual claims of the representatives of different countries, working and living in Spain now, who are really concerned about the future of the country.

The Apparent Failure Of The Environmental Summit

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Inosmi): “Almost a week since the Rio+20 Earth Summit ended, civil society is coming to terms with the ‘epic failure’ of global leaders to agree to meaningful action for addressing the worsening planetary and social crises. Campaigners were nearly unanimous in decrying the inertia and lack of urgency shown by governments for tackling issues related to sustainable development, with national self-interest overriding any possibility of dealing with global problems in a genuinely cooperative and global manner. (Source: Celsias)

“Ecology, which some (perhaps justifiably) consider the only new ideology for the last half century, cannot make progress on the issues raised by it. Green activists managed to drive the idea in the minds that the Earth is a finite object, and that society must live in harmony with nature. But this was the easiest part.

“Green extremists: As soon as it comes to concrete action, everyone will inevitably be disappointed. …

“Why? The first reason is that, like any other ideology, there are fanatics among environmentalists. These people require us to “change everything” in our way of life. …

“The second reason is that the division of the world in countries prevents solving problems on a global scale. There is an elementary game theory before us: The principle of egoism of governments is stronger than the principle of cooperation. …

“The failure of ecology is largely associated with the restrictive nature of its initiatives. …It is based on legislative restrictions, and bypasses the international and European laws to directly raise issues of international parliaments. …

“Attitude towards innovation: The greens strive to fight simultaneously on the environmental and social fronts. …The crisis of course, played a significant role in this. It changed the order of priorities, and the central imperative in the current conditions is employment.

“It remains to deal with the main part of the problem: the attitude towards innovations. Too many Western environmentalists continue to perceive science as a problem rather than as a solution: they believe that it has been sold to the capitalists who pollute nature.

“However, to change the way people live in vast territories, you must not try to force them to change habits, but to offer acceptable economic alternatives. Today, the reality tells a different story. A bio-carrot is too expensive, electric cars don’t go far, and renewable energy is not stable and too expensive for taxpayers.”

My Comment: The reason for failure is that the program of social evolution should lead people to the realization of the need to change their nature from egoistic to altruistic. And that is why no efforts of environmentalists can help us make our lives healthier and safer or prevent an ecological catastrophe. This can be achieved only by changing human nature, and not by changing a person. Our “ecological” efforts will only show our helplessness, and failure is inevitable.

Conclusion: It is not ecological principles that must be explained to everyone, but rather, the natural program and the goal of development of human society, based on which if we realize it consciously, we will arrive at an optimal society and existence.
