Coronavirus—A Consequence Of The Imbalance Of Nature

laitman_761.3In connection with the coronavirus epidemic, the Israeli Ministry of Health has issued 11 rules of conduct, which calls on each of us to comply with the “mutual guarantee” law. Since this is a global catastrophe affecting everyone, we must be considerate of each other, which is called a guarantee.

Our mutual guarantee now is not to come close to each other and by doing so taking care of our neighbor. If we really care about each other, and realize that through our behavior we contribute to the common good, we will very quickly stop the epidemic.

The attention-grabbing coronavirus actually seems like a child’s toy, compared to future disasters. For example, a gradual shift of the Earth’s magnetic poles threatens to lead to a sharp change, as a result of which the ice age will return.

Why are we so worried about some kind of virus that is simply nothing compared to the further development of events? But the fact is that the coronavirus hits everyone personally. And if ice is approaching or the ocean rises several meters, I will not feel this effect on myself personally by checking my temperature or pulse.

It all depends on a person’s sensations. If swarms of locusts fly in and devour the entire crop from the fields, then we will come to the store and not see any products in it except that same locust: sugared locusts, salted locusts, etc. Only then we will get worried.

In the meantime, the focus is on coronavirus. It demonstrates to mankind our weakness and connection with each other, which is now manifesting in a negative form, since the disease is transmitted through it from one to another. But it also shows that if we want to act together, thoughtfully and consciously, we can protect ourselves from the virus.

The epidemic also cleanses us of all rubbish: we have stopped flying back and forth, doing unnecessary things. If the epidemic drags on for another year, then our lives will calm down, and we will only carry out necessary actions.

No one will run around shopping, buying clothes. Everyone will live in peace if only to be healthy. The virus locks us and we become good children. It turns out that this is not a virus but help from above.
The epidemic will affect politics and muffle all passions because why should we fight if we are all brothers in misfortune. Over whom should they strive to rule— over people who live on the verge of the most necessary?

And then new blows will come: clouds of locusts, mosquitoes, mice. We will not be able to fight them because of their huge number. And so our life will gradually take on a different look: from this we will learn how to live differently. Indeed, today human society is more like a financial bubble: every second company is an investment fund.

According to the laws of nature, no creature at the inanimate, plant, or animal level consumes more than is necessary for existence. We see predators, a leopard or a wolf devour prey, but they do this in order to survive, and do not take too much.

And a person also has to live, consuming only the essentials, and give the rest to the benefit of society, and precisely what is really good for him, and not confuse society with all sorts of stupid things.

Human society is obliged to come to such a form of material life, which corresponds to the animal level. The animal body must live like all animals, that is, consume only for the sake of survival. And you don’t need to take anything from nature anymore, everything else should be directed only to spiritual actions, to the work of the Creator.

We produce products, 90% of which no one needs. Everything is organized in chains, where each produces its part and transfers to the other, and the very last in the chain throws everything away so that the whole process can be started anew.

The whole modern world is built in this form, otherwise we will not be able to earn. We earn only by squeezing all the natural resources from the earth. You cannot live on like this, we are destroying the environment.

The egoism that guides us every moment has led us to such a life that is already impossible to tolerate. We ourselves dig our own graves. The angel of death holds a drop of poison on the edge of the sword, and you obediently swallow it and die.

What is the way out? To study what Kabbalah speaks of, to correct our thoughts, and with these thoughts we will correct the world. When there will be many people with the correct thoughts, then it will be possible to translate them into material actions. But our thoughts themselves already work!

To give to society is first of all to study what genuine bestowal means and in what form the society must exist in order to comply with the law of nature. Everything clears up in thought.

Man himself, through his efforts and self-restraint, must reach the state in which the animals live, that is, not to consume more than vitally necessary for life. And we must direct the rest of our energy and mind to the unification among ourselves.

The coronavirus epidemic and all other problems are the consequence of imbalance in our lives. If we lived in the material plane as animals, not consuming more than necessary for our animalistic body, and all our spiritual efforts were directed toward understanding the Creator, then life would be beautiful.

But we bring in a distortion, striving in our egoism to rule over the whole world, to empty the globe and squeeze out all natural resources from it. And therefore nature, getting out of balance, shows us all these problems: biological problems in the form of a coronavirus, or volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, or tsunamis. All these cataclysms are caused by the imbalance that we create in nature.

We must limit ourselves to use nature only to the extent necessary, as the science of Kabbalah teaches. And all the other powerful forces, time, huge mind, and desire that a person is endowed with, apply only to correct society, to make it a tool for revealing the Creator.

These days human society is acting in the opposite direction from the revelation of the Creator, and by this we naturally cause all problems, and the coronavirus is only the beginning.

The era of the Messiah, in which we are already live, should bring us many new revelations. Let’s hope that thanks to our efforts, these revelations will be good, but so far, unfortunately, it is doubtful…

Let’s try to quickly learn and convey to all of humanity the cause of all viruses caused by the mismatch of human society with the general law of nature, which consists of equilibrium. This is simple physics, not faith, but the law of nature.

No other health crisis in the past washed over the entire world like a tsunami leaving basically no corner of the planet unaffected. The reason for this is that never before has the world been so interconnected and interdependent as now. Such a closed and entangled system in nature is teaching us that we will either succumb separately or thrive together. This is the strong lesson the coronavirus crisis is showing us.

The Black Death, SARS, and the most deadly pandemic so far, the Spanish flu, which killed around 50 million people worldwide in 1918, were widespread disease outbreaks that deeply impacted humanity. But there has never before been a blow such as the coronavirus, so broad and global in scope, grabbing everyone together, turning our lives upside down in a blink of an eye. The travel bans that immediately swept the world froze our obsession with globetrotting, no matter where, just as long as we were able to escape. Our perspective on money has also changed since the crisis, making us reevaluate our priorities in life. We will need to adapt to a new lifestyle, more basic, settled and wise.

The War on Our Nature

In addition to pandemics, wars have also left devastation behind them in various parts of the planet generation after generation. Previously, the world divided into camps to fight its conflicts: Germans and those against Germany, Russians and Americans, Chinese and Westerners, Iranians and Israelis. Now, the entire world has become one village, and the coronavirus has proven just that. In comparison to previous ones, this crisis is affecting all of humanity without making any distinctions of background, origin, beliefs or status in society. Simple people, government officials, spouses of world leaders, and celebrities—no one is immune to the contagious.

Nothing in nature happens by chance. The current situation offers humanity a new direction and fresh outlook since now the problem is not aimed at any specific country, region, or leader, as was the case in the past. This time, we are all navigating the trouble waters in the same boat, and we need to recognize that the only enemy to fight is our selfish, egoistic nature, the source of the world’s imbalance. Viruses and other problems of the ecosystem are the direct result of the damage that humans inflict on the system of nature through reckless and abusive behavior, both to the system and to others. In truth, all are integral parts of the same world, which functions as an enormous mesh of interconnected cogwheels.

A Cure for Mankind

There is no prohibition on enjoyment and pleasure in life. Our desire for pleasure is the fabric of our nature and its fulfillment is precisely the purpose of creation: to do good and bring contentment to its creations. The question is: to what purpose do we enjoy, and more importantly, at expense of what or whom?

Therefore, as painful and unnerving as the pandemic may seem, the coronavirus can really become a cure for humanity’s ills if we learn its primary lesson: the only angel of death is the human ego, and until we rise above it, we will never enjoy a good life. We have been given an awakening to change paths and connect with each other so that together we can unleash the positive force of nature that becomes revealed through our harmonious relationships. This world-changing revelation is a reason for gratitude.

“Is There A Cure For Cancer?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Is there a cure for cancer?

The human body is a complete interconnected system operating according to integral laws of nature: every cell consumes only what is needed for its useful functioning within the system of tissues and organs, and exists to sustain the entire body. If a single cell starts functioning to benefit itself alone, it becomes cancerous.

Cancer is a body within the body. Due to the enormous growth of their “ego,” cancerous cells separate from the body’s other cells, start seeing them as enemies, as foreign bodies that need to be attacked and devoured.

Cancerous cells can form a separate kind of society within the human body. They can communicate and cooperate in their own way to enslave normal cells and create metastases.

They have no sensation of the human organism as a necessary environment for their existence, and thus reject and destroy it, and in the worse scenario, die together with the body due to lacking a habitat.

So then we reach one of the pressing questions of our time: is there a cure for cancer?

Definitely. However, it lies beyond the realm of a separate individual human body.

Nature as a whole operates similarly to a single organism.

On nature’s inanimate, vegetative and animate levels, each and every one of its element has its dedicated role and input into the whole system.

Our society also consists of individual “cells,” i.e., people who are brought together into different social structures.

Unfortunately, unlike nature’s other levels, we humans have a very “cancerous” attitude toward one another, and the environment we live in.

What is the risk?

As soon as we start thinking only about ourselves, our system starts slowly becoming “impressed” by our egoistic thoughts and desires.

This impression spreads over structures influencing other levels of nature and our physical bodies.

Unconscious of nature as our home, in a constant run for personal pleasure, like the selfish cancerous cells, we humans basically destroy our common environment for existence, forming a cancerous tumor on the body of the planet.

When the cancerous growth of a selfish attitude spreads beyond a certain limit, humanity starts consuming itself.

What is the optimal way to fight cancer on both levels: the human body and society in general?

The problem can be solved on the level of connection among each other.

Being unconscious about our “cancerous” attitudes to each other deprives us of the opportunity to deal with them.

However, if we rise to a level higher than our usual relations and reactions, we will be able to see a more complete picture of reality, and thus solve myriad problems, including cancer, comprehensively.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, when we understand our egoistic nature and apply efforts to rise above it by building positive connections, we will step into a new level of perception of reality.

As soon as human relations become mutual, kind, benevolent, and we all unite into one complete system, the world will become balanced, and there will be no room for cancer on any level.

It is as written, “And a wolf shall live with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie with a kid; and a calf and a lion cub and a fatling [shall lie] together, and a small child shall lead them” (Isaiah 11:6).

Coronavirus Vaccine

laitman_944The coronavirus has already spread to eighty countries, and shows us how much we depend on each other. We are searching for the way these viruses are transmitted from one person to another through airplanes or physical contact.

But in fact, they do not spread in this way but through our thoughts. After all, we are connected in a single field, and if I think badly of you, then with my thoughts I awaken thoughts in you that cause all kinds of manifestations and consequences in you.

This phenomenon is known to people who are engaged in international security. The science of Kabbalah explains that our thoughts possess either the most destructive power or are the kindest of all the forces of nature. But unfortunately, we are acting using only destructive thoughts.

Therefore, neither preventive measures in the fight against coronaviruses nor the invention of new antibiotics will help us. If not this virus, then another one will appear. We must finally understand that we need to cure the relationships between people. If our relationships and thoughts become good, then no virus will break through.

Unkind thoughts about others or disunity clothe into the human body and manifest as disease. This is a disease at the highest level, which we are unable to defend ourselves against because we do not have power over our thoughts. We do not know who is thinking about what, and we cannot control even our own thoughts.

Therefore, this is a big problem. One must be taught how to control one’s thoughts so that they are good for everyone. This is the only way we can defeat all viruses. For such correction, we need the science of Kabbalah; there is no other way.

After all, human egoistic nature makes us think only about ourselves. Therefore, a special science, a unique method, and work in a group are needed to teach a person to think about others. It seems so simple, but it is the absolute opposite of human nature.

As we begin to correct ourselves, we will see that the world is changing in relation to us. We will begin to feel that there is a special power around us called the upper light, which acts and organizes the whole world in the best possible way. We enter this force and live in it, and then we have no fear of any coronaviruses or other diseases.

Not too long ago, we held a large international Kabbalistic convention in Tel Aviv. Every day there was a fear that the Ministry of Health would forbid us to attend the congress.

After all, this was a huge meeting with more than 5,000 people gathering together in a big city, sitting together, hugging, eating at the same table, breathing the same air, and spending three days in the same room. All the air was filled with different viruses, but no one was infected.

This is because through our connection we made the most correct and effective vaccination and disinfection. This can serve as an example for humanity of how the power of unity cleanses, settles and sanctifies everything.

By the fact that we want to unite in a single thought, for the sake of one goal, we create a force field, each with our own thought. Thought is power. Connecting all our forces, we create a force field, which is the highest of all fields existing in the world, physical or biological.

If we set this field above ourselves and want it to connect us, all of us wanting to connect with this field, and become “as one man with one heart,” all as friends and brothers, then nothing can harm us.

This is how it works, because one’s thought is the highest impact one can make. Therefore, it destroys all the viruses existing below him at lower levels: inanimate, vegetative, and animate. This field radiates love and unity, which together create a global positive force that destroys all negative factors.

Therefore, there is nothing to fear. We can drink poison, and if we are aimed in the right connection with the spiritual field, then nothing can harm us. People can protect themselves by being in good contact with us, and then they will constantly receive an antivirus that will protect them from disease. I wish you all good health!

“Coronavirus — A Blessing In Disguise?” (Thrive Global)

Thrive Global published my new article: “Coronavirus — a Blessing in Disguise?

We’ve needed these reflections and today that I see so many people asking them, or sympathizing with those who ask them, and it makes me optimistic.

Life will return to normalcy after Coronavirus, but normalcy will not be what we know today. After the withdrawal symptoms from consumerism abuse subside, people will wake up to a new reality. The longer it takes for humanity to overcome COVID-19, the more different our post-Coronavirus lives will be.

The best case scenarios predict that a vaccine to the virus will be available to the public toward the end of 2020. How many businesses will survive a forced closure for that long? How many recreation and entertainment venues can stay out for that many months? And most important, what will our lives look like without them?

In my view, there will not be complete annihilation of recreation and entertainment, but there will be far less of it and in different ways. Can you picture it? Can you picture a life that does not consist of chasing assumed pleasures that almost always end up in dismay, which makes us look for the next promised bliss, only to find the next broken promise? What will satisfy us when the endless, futile pursuit of satisfaction is halted by force-majeure?

Right now, there are more questions than answers surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond the obvious ones, such as when will a vaccine be found, there are very deep questions that this germ awakens. For example, it stops us from polluting the planet. By curbing flights, transportation, and production so radically, it drastically reduces our carbon imprint, improves the air quality, minimizes our depletion of natural resources, and generally makes humanity a dream come true for environment enthusiasts like Greta Thunberg and the millions who ache over the harm we are doing to our planet. So, is the virus all that bad? Or, maybe it’s bad for us and good for the rest of reality? But if that’s the case, then we’re at odds with reality, which is certainly not a good thing. How have we come to this?

As I said, it is still too early to answer these questions; we’re still in what the papers call “a developing story.” But when the dust sinks, there is no doubt that we will see a different picture from before it was kicked into the air.

Some Points of Reflection

Here are some of the things I reflect on these days:

#1 – If left alone, Nature is harmonious and balanced. When the balance is broken, such as when there is an overpopulation of one species, Nature finds a way to balance it either by increasing the number of predators of that species or by culling the excess number of animals in some other way. If Nature seems to attempt to cull us, I think we should ask why it is doing this. Have we become so deleterious to Nature that it is forced to discard of some of us?

#2 – If the virus is Nature’s way of culling humanity, would that imply that if we didn’t misbehave so badly, the virus wouldn’t happen?

There are even deeper questions we can ask:

#1 – So far, Coronavirus has been quite “gentle” with us. The number of casualties is relatively low and the symptoms are mostly mild. At the same time, we see that somehow, the virus has managed to disentangle all of our ties to one another; it is isolating us from each other, disassembling our previous way of life, yet does not threaten to altogether starve us. What does that mean for us? Could this be Nature’s way of telling us that the problem lies in our connections? If we were more empathetic to one another, more considerate, how would that impact the disease? Perhaps it wouldn’t since we should have been more empathetic and considerate to begin with and now it’s too late and we’re just going to have to ride out the storm and try to be different when it’s gone. But then, perhaps it would…

#2 – Also, Nature, as just said, is balanced. Humans are evidently not. We patronize Nature, patronize each other, and never stop playing “King of the [Dung] Hill.” We think what no creature thinks—that we are superior to Nature, that we can defeat it if we only try hard enough and long enough. Could this incongruence between the general nature and human nature be the cause behind the outbreak?

One way or the other, the virus, in its way, is a blessing in disguise. We’ve needed these reflections and today that I see so many people asking them, or sympathizing with those who ask them, and it makes me optimistic. We will find a vaccine to Coronavirus, but the question that bothers me the most is whether we will find a vaccine to the illness that has plagued us for centuries—our selfish human nature.

“Coronavirus And The New Humanity” (Times Of Israel)

The Times of Israel published my new article “Coronavirus and the New Humanity

The outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) caught us off guard. Initially, the majority of the world didn’t really care because it was in China, and the West sees China mainly as a big factory. Next, we thought it was little more than a new strain of flu. When it started to spread, we thought it wouldn’t come to our neighborhood/city/country. So when governments declared mandatory quarantine on people returning from abroad, or shut down all entertainment businesses, or canceled sports leagues, schools, and universities, we thought that they were panicking for no reason.

But we should already know better. If we don’t want our countries to look like Wuhan or Lombardi, we’d better be attentive to the instructions.

Almost a Positive Message

If it weren’t sad, the message the coronavirus is sending us could sound almost positive: It tells us “We are all in this together.” It is a universal message of mutual responsibility, where the measures taken by one government impact every person on the planet. Just think about how it started: Someone in Wuhan, China, got a strange flu in November, and three months later, thousands of people are dead, the world is going out of business, hundreds of millions are jailed inside their own homes or ghettoed in their city, Russia and OPEC have declared an oil-war, and the U.S. thinks they’re both out to get it, and all because of that one person with the strange flu.

Indeed, we are all in this together, universally connected.

In the wisdom of Kabbalah, there is a concept called “the last generation.” Basically, it means that when the generation is selfish to the core, a new paradigm will emerge, one of unity and mutual responsibility. Now, according to The Book of Zohar, the seminal book of Kabbalah, we are in the beginning of that last generation.

The Birth of a New Humanity

Admittedly, we are in the midst of a global crisis. But the word “crisis” doesn’t deserve its bad reputation. In English, a crisis is “the turning point for better or worse in an acute disease or fever,” or “an emotionally significant event or radical change of status in a person’s life,” according to Webster’s Dictionary. So it isn’t necessarily bad, but it is certainly a dramatic situation.

The Hebrew word for “crisis” is even more interesting. Mashber, which is Hebrew for crisis, is the word that ancient Hebrew texts used to denote birth. The mashber was the special chair on which the woman in labor sat until she delivered (Talmud, Arachin 1:4). Also, in the Bible (Isaiah 37:3), the word mashber denotes the opening of the birth-canal right before the newborn baby emerges to the world.

In the case of the current crisis, and in fact the current process that we have been undergoing for some decades now, the newborn baby is a new humanity. The difference between now and, say, ten years ago, is that significant portions of humanity are beginning to acknowledge that mutual responsibility and interdependence are not merely fancy words that they can use to decorate their social media posts; they are the painful truth that we must take into account in our daily lives. Previously, it didn’t matter to anyone if I wanted to go to a discotheque or to the movies to take my mind off life’s burdens. Nowadays, other people’s lives could depend on my decision, literally! It doesn’t get more mutually responsible than that.

Willing vs. Unwilling Collaborators with Reality

Reality has made its choice for us: We are all dependent on each other. But we can choose how to relate to it. Like a crisis, interdependence is not a bad thing in and of itself. Imagine what our lives would be like if we had no one to make our food so we could buy it in the supermarket, no one to make our cars so we could go anywhere we want, and no one to make our clothes, homes, appliances and gadgets that we so enjoy. What would our lives look like?

The problem is not with mutual dependence in itself, it’s in the fact that we are trying to use it to our personal benefit instead of everyone using it for everyone’s benefit. When we use our interdependence selfishly, the results are the financial crisis from twelve years ago, the depression that we feel due to our dissatisfaction with life, which then causes substance abuse that claims tens of thousands of lives every year in the U.S. alone, and the current pandemic that who knows when or how it will end.

But if we use our interdependence for the common good, then we will be happy to contribute our very best skills and efforts to society because everybody else will be doing likewise. Can you imagine a society whose members all work for the common good? Can you imagine sadness there? Can you see sickness there? Will you find loneliness there? Will there be crime, illiteracy, or drugs in such a community? A community that implements mutual responsibility will never allow any of that to happen in its midst.

COVID-19 is a stern teacher. But however painful are its lessons, we had better learn them now—the lessons of our interconnectedness and mutual responsibility, our new paradigm of life. Reality has already decided that now is the time for the birth of a new humanity; it is our choice to make it smooth and happy, or resist it and endure nature’s methods of assisted delivery…

“Is There A Treatment For The Coronavirus?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Is there a treatment for the Coronavirus?

It might sound very profound and not what people expect as the answer, but positive human connection is indeed the ultimate solution not only to the coronavirus, but to all problems we experience on personal, social, global and ecological scales.

Today, the coronavirus comes to show us that in the face of danger, we are all equal, and that there is no escape.

The wisdom of Kabbalah, which I have been studying and teaching for over 40 years, states that there is nothing more powerful than positive human connection.

As a practical example of the immense power of positive human connection in light of the coronavirus outbreak, after panic spread to various countries, including Israel, we hosted a World Kabbalah Convention in Tel Aviv.

Around 5,000 people from 78 countries attended for three days, studying, eating, singing, hugging and dancing together in one space. Moreover, a lot of the participants shared accommodation with each other. We had a medical team on board, and there were no reports of anyone getting sick for the entire convention.

The principle is very simple: We have nothing to be afraid of if we aim at unity.

Our positive connection is the “disinfectant” and the real treatment for any disease, because by connecting, we come closer to nature’s connected form and experience a certain extent of balance with nature. All diseases stem from our imbalance with nature, and so we need only learn how to use this tool of our connectedness to enter into more balance with nature, experiencing positive outcomes as a result.

If our thoughts and attitudes are positive toward one another, mutually considerate and caring, we then become immune to harmful forces. When we connect in a single thought and goal, “as one man with one heart,” we build a field of love and gain the strength to deal with any disease.
