Who Will Pull Us Out Of The Gutter?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Now most people, from factory workers to scientists, cannot perform the simplest actions, and in essence, everyday it gets harder and harder. It turns out that in a few years, the only working system will be the system of integral interaction. But why then are we talking about it so quietly? Why aren’t we developing it more actively?

Answer: Unfortunately, we can’t shout. However, we observe this phenomena even on those people who are taking the integral upbringing courses with us.

When they are interacting among themselves, they feel an ascent.

When they temporarily move away from the interaction with each other, they feel a descent in which they feel emptiness and an absence of any energy of movement, internal energy, thought.

However, in the integration with others, an ascent immediately happens in them, an influx of new strength, opportunities appear for the analysis of what is happening. We see this clearly.

Unfortunately, we come across an apathetic attitude of people everywhere to what is going on. They send a person who is in a state of depression to psychologists and give him some kind of medicines, antidepressants and so on. Meaning, that they believe that one needs to fight against this, not understanding that you can’t fight against nature. And this tendency continues to develop. It is already clearly being observed by the young generation, not to mention the adult one.

How do we come out into the wide circles of society, through the upper echelons or the lower ones? How do we approach the middle class without conveying information through the mass media or the attractive elements of conviction, and express our methods? It is not simple. We are trying to move in different directions, but we cannot say that we have succeeded on a large scale yet.

Everything rests on the fact that people do not want these changes. It is very difficult for them to transition from their linear egoism to the public, closed one.

He will lie on the sofa and will not be able to stand up even if he would be told that tomorrow there is a war. Let the war happen, I will just lay here.

We need to convince him that if he will make a small movement forward, will sit into a circle with others, will enter a new method of socializing, then he will receive totally different desires, totally different thoughts of a new order; he will start to fly compared to his previous state.

But this transition for him is purely psychological. We cannot do it for him, and he is not able to. It has to happen as some kind of internal change. Strictly speaking, he must be “attacked” by the group, which will shake him up, will take him into the collective by force, and will convey its new inspiration to him. Something must happen because the man cannot pull himself out of this gutter by himself.

Not For Pride, Control And Respect

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Well-known corporations such as Sony and IBM have long been implementing group motivation in different ways. The corporate culture is built on the concept of “We are one whole,” but they are doing all this in order to profit.

How is our social integral organization different from such corporations?

Answer: I wouldn’t emphasize the differences, but rather would come to them with our integral method and invite them to use it: “Let’s try. We’ll show you how our training and workshops lift people’s spirits.”

They may ask: “And what’s the difference between your workshops and what we’ve been doing?” After all, perhaps they have a lot of different methods.

The difference is in the fact that in our actions, we are trying to create a feeling of a totally new world. We lift them above themselves into a new state, but not according to the principle of “we are one group” like football players whose actions are generally the direct sum of their efforts. Of course, the spirit and the feeling help them and make them feel they are part of a great mechanism, and having the support of a strong organization brings the company certain profits. Here, however, we are trying to lift them spiritually.

What does “spiritually” mean? First, it isn’t for material success, not for pride, control, or respect. We are trying to lift people above our nature not in order to use it, but in order to be above it. In this case, the group gets together in order to rise above its egoistic group “self” and feel that it is on the next level of existence.

This is achieved by a very simple method. The work in the group is managed according to a certain method: When I rise above the others, descend below them, and become equal to them, I reach mutual guarantee; I try to build a relationship with others above my ego, which means that I don’t act egoistically like they do. In today’s corporations, egoists, who are trying to develop their own ego on the account of others, get together based on competition, respect, envy, knowledge, and other qualities that only humans have. They try to spur themselves, make a profit, and get rich within the same ego.

We, on the other hand, don’t. We first try to rise above our ego. We want to reach the opposite attribute, the attribute of bestowal, above the ego. Here it is not all the egoistic attempts that get together, like in the case of the members of the IBM and Sony corporations, but attempts to reach the attribute of bestowal. This is a totally different method.

Eventually we get a totally different result, a different creation. We give birth to the collective force of bestowal, the force of love, not the egoistic force, but above the egoistic force. This is exactly what we call “the attribute of bestowal.”

Within the same attribute of bestowal, we begin to feel what an integral society really is, what mutual guarantee is, and what life outside ourselves is.

“Outside ourselves” means outside the ego, above it, on a new level, in a new dimension, where I measure everything according to the attribute of bestowal, according to the new relations among us, where I don’t take myself into account at all, but only the new existence, which is my life. It isn’t I that am included in it, but it is my “self.” My body exists next to it as a corporal appendix.

It is hard to explain this to ordinary people, but they will be able to understand this even after one practical lesson.

Comment: But people don’t only want to feel good, they also want to get more efficient production.

Answer: This will surely be the outcome. Production will not only be effective, but above the efficient production, each of them will see new opportunities in his work that he didn’t see before by using his egoistic perspective. He will see totally different goals, relations, and possible solutions; there is no doubt about that.

A person’s actions will become much more productive. A person will be much wiser, brighter, and sharper. Each one will radiate a totally different upper energy, especially those dealing in high-tech and various creative professions. And today they are the majority. Besides, all these special ways are necessary even for those who deal with marketing; the outcome will be felt immediately.

The Science Of Birth Into The Light

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, Letter No. 13:This came upon you due to your negligence of my request to exert in love of friends, for I have explained to you in every possible manner that this remedy is sufficient to compensate for your every deficiency. And if you cannot rise to heaven, I have given you ways on Earth, and why have you not added in this work at all?”

We are the ones who draw the picture of this world in our properties. Actually, we distinguish two types of impact that our desire to receive feels:

  • good and comfortable
  • bad and dangerous

The “matter” we consist of is the desire to receive that is divided into five (5) levels: zero to four. On all these levels, we have multiple qualities that in general can be reduced to how to receive pleasure.

Our perception of reality allows us to differentiate the edges of the Light of Infinity that can either bring us pleasure or harm. All we do is we portray them in our perception; the entire picture of our reality is woven of them.

This picture is very small and limited; Kabbalists have been telling us about this fact for thousands of years now. Lately, also scholars ascertained that we catch only a fraction of reality.

Is there a way to observe authentic reality other than the one we are born into, live and die in, in which we feel insignificant, unhappy, and incomplete?

Kabbalists say that it’s possible to perceive the true reality and sense the Light of Infinity in which we constantly dwell only on one condition: if we manage to amplify our tools of perception.

This is why the science we study is called “the wisdom of receiving.” With the help of this methodology, we manage to broaden our sensors and in addition to the five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch— we climb a step higher towards obtaining five additional senses.

To do this, we have to change our desire to receive in terms of not only perceiving what’s important to us in a positive or negative sense, but rather to perceive things that are outside of our desire also regarding them in a positive or negative way. How do we do that?

I need to dress into somebody else, into someone who is external to me, to rise above my own sensations, both positive and negative, to the perception of what is good or bad for another. If I manage to catch somebody else’s sensations, at least the perception of one person, then I get out of myself and start identifying the world as it really is, in a initial, small extent. Then, a person can continue working on expanding my exits outside of myself, again and again, until I start sensing the reality completely independent of myself. This is called the perception beyond reason, above the desire to receive.”

We have been in the process of developing this quality for quite a long time now. The matter of which the desire is built has transitioned from the inanimate level to the vegetative, then to animate, and it has been the development of the receiving desires of self-perception. The desire to receive continued to enlarge its ability to feel various outside impacts from within until it depleted this option to the very end. There is no room for further growth in this direction any longer; so, the desire to receive now recognizes its limitations.

Here is what today’s generation is going through: We lack interest in life, indifference to further growth and what we do in this world. We can’t control ourselves and the world around us as before. Our egoistic desire has exhausted itself; we have completed this phase of evolution.

In the future, our desire to receive will push us towards the next developmental stage. It is said that by creating affliction and predicaments, the Pharaoh forced the sons of Israel to exit from Egypt. Similarly to them, we too feel hopeless in this life. The egoism that is governing us, demonstrates that it is unable to fulfill us any longer. We go the extra mile to find reasons to live, search for additional pleasures and livelihood; however, all of them lead to even deeper descents; the more we try to live better, the worse our lives become.

Even those who have everything do not sense any joy or happiness. Besides, our material life constantly gets harder. We definitely continue to fall.

This is exactly what is supposed to be happening. At some point, the sons of Israel fled Egypt because they went through a similar situation. They would have liked to stay there, but they were hit by huge blows and sufferings that didn’t leave them any choice but to escape.

When a Kabbalist begins his self-correction, he acts as if he strives to enter a beautiful spiritual world full of light, into the bright future that will open all horizons to him. However, on his way there, he discovers quite an opposite picture —tough internal life and intense burdens that press him immensely. This pressure is caused by the fact that he isn’t moving forward in the usual egoistic way. Instead, through desperation and unfortunate circumstances, he must pass through all stages of spiritual birth, meaning to exit Egypt, rise above his egoism, get out of himself, and feel what it is like to be out of his body; that is, he lives through sensing other’s desires.

In this world, the process of birth is also accompanied by labor pains (Tzirim in Hebrew), in other words by (Tzarot) troubles, sufferings, and pressure. And in particular, those feelings are given to those who study the wisdom of Kabbalah to help them advance by pushing them forward in the same way a mother’s uterus presses on the fetus for it to be born.

However, the wisdom of Kabbalah is not just telling us about the birth of a new perception and the acquisition of the transition from absorbing to releasing, from reception to bestowal. It is not a theoretical study of the process; it is not about philosophy. Kabbalah helps us to realize this by a process of spiritual birth.

After all, like a fetus in the mother’s womb, we have to feel cramped, dark, tightness, suffocation, and the need assist this process on our own. It’s a very unpleasant sensation. That’s why we are granted the wisdom of Kabbalah to begin realizing and acknowledging the process in order to make it easy and fast.

Thanks to Kabbalah, we know what to expect; we realize that we have to exit out of our internal sensations into the external world in order to avoid viewing the reality only through the limitations of our five senses; we should see the world that is outside of us, outside the womb. We have to achieve this state somehow. How?

We need an “obstetrician” here; we have to be born not as a result of painful birth contractions that push us from behind, but rather due to the outside force that pulls us forward. In this case, the process of birth will be quite easy, with the “waters,” with the property of Mercy.

For that, we need external support that has to be provided by the group, which elicits the external force. It is said: “Man shall help his neighbor.” The group can pull us out of this dark world into the bright light; it will help us raise our perception of reality to the next level so that it’s not limited by five senses anymore; but on the contrary, we begin viewing everything around us in the Reflected Light without absorbing anything inside ourselves, but rather turning outside.

Hence, the terms “bestowal,” “love,” and “mercy,” all of them, in fact, are talking about the perception of reality in a different quality, in exchanging one’s desires with the desire of his friend. If one manages to transfer one’s primary concern from himself to his group of friends, it is as if one is drawn out of the womb, out of this world, and go beyond this material realm into the world of externality. In this case, our efforts trigger the upper force’s response, which helps us go through this and to be born.

This is the first step we have to go through; it is extremely difficult. Similarly in our world, in spite of all efforts to facilitate the process of birth, to make it easy and safe, it always appears to be a miracle similar to the “miracle of exiting Egypt.” At this stage of development lies something new and extraordinary, and even more so when it comes to spiritual birth.

Raise Taxes On The Wealthy Instead Of Cutting Public Expenditure

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)): “There is growing concern that the restrictive approaches of budget consolidation currently pursued in many European countries may not reach their objectives, but risk further exacerbating the crisis. Austerity measures applied across Europe are viewed increasingly critically by international experts and organisations as they can undermine democratic and social rights, in particular for the most vulnerable categories of the population.

“The Parliamentary Assembly should send out a strong signal by calling for a profound reorientation of austerity programmes, ending their quasi-exclusive focus on expenditure cuts in social areas such as pensions, health services or family benefits. Future national action should also include measures aimed at increasing public revenues by taxing higher income categories and property wealth more strongly, by shoring up the tax base and by enhancing tax collection, the efficiency of the tax administration and the fight against tax fraud, tax evasion and tax havens, corruption and the underground economy.

“Current budget consolidation programmes should be further supplemented with measures fostering sustainable economic growth, including the creation of new quality employment and special support to be given to the young generation in the transitional period between education and employment.”

My Comment: The nature of egoistic society is such that if we check the implementation of these good intentions, we will find out that in the end, the wealthy become wealthier and pay less, while the poor become poorer and pay more. This occurs everywhere in all countries and at all times. Not the calls of the authorities, not the direct instructions from the government, not the wishes of the rich themselves will change this trend.

Only the change of the basis of the egoistic society through education can transform it to a more equal one. After all, the development of society on the egoistic foundation is obliged to bring about, involuntarily through sufferings, or consciously and willingly, the change of human nature.

I’m Ashamed And It’s Great

Dr. Michael LaitmanLet’s talk about shame, a very elevated concept, which is only characteristic of man. As much as you may try to induce shame in the representatives of the still, vegetative, and animate natures, there will be no reaction since this root is not instilled in them. The beginnings of shame are only manifested on the human level of our world, and not even within everyone.

It is because the human level is separated into five levels of development, and only on the last one of them, a desire of a sufficient “thickness” emerges, a large egoism, which allows one to feel great shame.

Regarding the previous levels, Baal HaSulam describes them as milestones on the way. Some are ready to cause others any kind of evil in the presence of everyone and they are not ashamed of it. Others are somewhat shy or are being careful, and that is why they prefer to cause harm secretly. Others are truly ashamed and not due to the fear of punishment. However, they reconcile their shame and justify what is happening by the retributions known to everyone: “He deserves it,” “I have the right to do it,” “Everyone does it,” and so on.

And only the people, who possess a large egoistic desire, who have experienced great shame, begin to work with this property. As their point in the heart awakens, they begin the spiritual work and arrive at a different kind of shame then, which does not lie on the plane of this world but on a higher level.

In our world, I am ashamed of receiving something that I have not earned, have not paid for. I cannot accept such an “acquisition” because, as a rule, it is not difficult to figure out from whom this good is coming and whether I deserve it or not.

However, I have a problem with the spiritual world. I do not see whom I am receiving the gifts from and that is why I am not ashamed. First, I need to reveal the Bestower, the Root, whom all of this is coming from, and this requires many more calculations. For example, “Must I earn the good from Him? If He created me, then surely He must also provide for me?” Another option is: “I did not deserve the help, but due to no other way out, I will pay for it later.” In other words, in the spiritual world, like in our world, we move by the steps of shame.

In reality, shame is the foundation of creation. Because of it, Malchut of Infinity carried out the restriction and has initiated all of the subsequent development in order to become equivalent with the Creator in the end. Shame is a source, the initial point, impelling us to arrive to the similarity of qualities with the Creator, to become even with Him, to pay off the debt to Him, and to stop receiving gifts as before.

Baal HaSulam gives the following example: A rich man meets his friend, a poor man, at the market and he brings him home and gives him all kinds of goods. The poor man feels that the rich man is helping him from the bottom of his heart without any calculations for himself, enjoying this bestowal. However, while receiving the abundance directly, the poor man simultaneously receives the feeling of impatience and shame, which burns him up from the inside and becomes unbearable. It’s all in the separation of personal receiving on the one hand, and the bestowal by the rich man on the other. Such is the law: When I feel that I am the one receiving, not like the one bestowing, this evokes the shame in me.

This feeling is so huge, that Malchut of Infinity restricted and decided that she will receive pleasure from the Creator only in the similarity of qualities, only for the sake of bestowal. Only in this case will she feel the expediency of receiving. While the point is not to neutralize one’s shame, on the contrary, she begins to value it. Since it is thanks to the suffering, which it brings up, can she now make a different calculation directed at reciprocal bestowal to the Creator.

Shame does not only prevent receiving, does not simply make one restrict one’s egoism and to receive for the sake of bestowal, avoiding suffering, but it allows me to arrive at true bestowal. And that is why I value shame. It is said that this feeling is prepared only for the high souls. In the spiritual world, it is good and beneficial to experience it because shame becomes a means for him, helping him realize the necessity of bestowal, to demand the revelation of the Creator. And then the point is not in the egoism anymore and not in the shame, as such, it’s just that by its means I can truly assimilate to the Creator and become a bestowing one. Let the previous factors remain inside of me, the desire to receive and the shame, but only as necessary conditions above which I can build the relationship towards the Creator and move towards merging with Him.

Shame develops together with the desires and expands them, enriching them with a multitude of details of perception. We see this even in our world, the Creator has only created the initial point of development and everything else has developed thanks to the gaping emptiness, the perception of the difference between the creation and the Creator.

The Torah tells us that Adam has experienced an explosion of egoistic desire, described as the emergence of Hava (Eve) beside him. He has merged with this desire, what is called, has tasted from the Tree of Knowledge, meaning, has received the fulfillment and then has perceived himself as nude, barren of his clothing, and has become ashamed of it.

The Creator is showing an example here. He has created the dressing for Adam and Hava and later, as a consequence, we enrobe ourselves into all of the dressing by ourselves. Their root is the Reflected Light. If we wish so, then we can follow its example and form our own personal dressings. And all of this is not simply done in order not to be ashamed, but in order to assimilate to the Creator and by means of this, to give Him pleasure.

We rarely mention the concept of shame. In our original sources, it is found occasionally. However, in reality, we are always guided by this feeling of separation between the Creator and the creation. Shame is the “trigger,” that point of beginning with which the creation is awakened towards assimilating, merging, like in the example with the poor man and the rich man.

I Demand Proof!

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: The integral method is unnatural to human egoism, and for that reason, people try to dodge it. People need proof.

Answer: Proof can be twofold. Either we show a person a good future that truly shines to him from afar if he becomes an integral element of society and reaches harmony and balance with it, or he experiences the suffering that is not far ahead.

At the same time, we need to show people that suffering is necessary only so that one will realize the need to develop socially. In essence, these are the only two forces of development: suffering that pushes us from behind and benevolent aspiration ahead. That’s it!

A Flat Tire Or A Flat Desire?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How can I see the current situation as unbearable in order to yearn for the next state?

Answer: You need the Light for that. Don’t we sometimes feel that we cannot stand ourselves? Don’t we torture ourselves when we see that we are wasting our lives by using everyone for our own benefit? Don’t we condemn ourselves for wanting to rest and for looking down on everyone?

However, we cannot bring all these feelings together. The problem is that a person thinks that he can do something by himself. A person is successful and is very lucky if he understands that without the Light, he can do nothing.

A person should not search himself, but, on the contrary, he should say, as it is written, “Go and tell the craftsman that made me.” Let the Light correct you; this is the only option.

The Creator wants to evoke you and spur you on to contact Him by every bad feeling he sends you. This is the reason He created evil: so that we will use the Torah, the Light, as a “spice,” as a means for correction.

So any bad thing that happens to you gives you a chance to turn to the Creator. However, if you don’t turn to Him, if you look for help elsewhere, this is called “other gods,” as if it weren’t Him who sent you these troubles.

This is where the group comes in, in creating a consolidated perspective, a clear understanding that everything we receive is from the Creator. The moment we feel a flaw or a defect, we must turn to Him. If this is the general approach, then I will certainly not forget this.

We forget these simple facts in our spiritual work because we don’t make sure that it should be the common, general protocol, the general atmosphere in the group. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t waste our time.

Question: However, I turn to the Creator not so that He will solve my corporeal problems, but so that He will help me demand a greater connection since the connection is the solution.

Answer: Yes, the solution is indeed in the connection among us. The Creator sends you a problem in such a way and on such a level that you will identify it as a problem.

If he sent you a problem in its true form, as lack of bestowal upon the friends or lack of love, then at that moment you wouldn’t feel sorry about it. So, instead, he presents it differently to you.

You didn’t exert yourself as you should have in working on the connection among us, and this corruption is depicted to you as a totally different external problem such as a flat tire, for example. You come out in the morning and see that you have a flat tire, so you curse life and the Creator, and change the tire with the spare tire if you have one.

Thus, the real problem takes on a different form that enables you to feel sorrow and pain. Now, besides the necessary external actions, your work is to understand that the Creator has called you since you are not connected to the friends and do not reveal the Light. Otherwise, what do you need troubles for?

Question: So, how can I turn to the Creator now? After all, the Creator is a force, the law of nature; it is useless to pray to Him and to ask from Him.

Answer: Praying” doesn’t mean to ask something from Him the way we see it. By praying, I discover a deficiency within me and a need for the Light so that it will come and influence me. Praying means to discover a deficiency that is aimed at correction, at the right filling, by the force of bestowal, by the Light. It is the attribute of bestowal by which I want to be filled. This is called praying.

However, I never discover such a deficiency. Instead, I feel that I lack something. How is it possible to turn the egoistic deficiency, the fact that I lack something, into a deficiency for the attribute of bestowal? This is our internal work called “God’s work.” When, together, with the friends, I switch from a corporeal deficiency for my self-benefit to a spiritual deficiency for the attribute of bestowal, I summon the Light that Reforms, and my desire is fulfilled.

Treating The Environment Like A Beloved Child

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How can I empower the environment so that it can make me feel the importance of the goal?

Answer: If you see the environment as important, it will convey the importance of the goal back to you. Don’t pay attention to how this environment behaves. What you see is irrelevant since you don’t see anything in its true form.

You must simply, constantly, invest in your environment as if it swallows everything. Your job is to make the environment feel that the goal is important, that the Creator is important, the spiritual path and the studying are important. In response, you may see that they all disrespect one another and that they disrespect you since this is also something the Creator has arranged for you.

You must understand that you are working vis-à-vis the Creator who is depicted to you in the form of the society. The Creator may present the environment to you as totally corrupt, but this doesn’t matter. You still must make efforts and bestow upon it in one direction.

The other direction is your receiving from them, which is meant only to teach you how you should improve yourself and, despite everything, impress them with the greatness and the importance of the goal. Leave all the calculations of how much you can get from them. All such accountings are egoistic. If you begin to think about how they offend you and how they treat you, it is all ego.

You should see the group in such a way that you don’t care about anything that is in regard to you. No matter how they respond to you, you only need to give in return, just as you treat little children and wait until they grow up.

When Did The Integration Begin?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is the history of the appearance of the integral system? Where did the interest in it come from? And how did it evolve?

Answer: When you explain to people about the appearance of the integral system, you must lean on scientific research.

Take, for example, psychology, it was created from behavior patterns in the new world, in a new society, which didn’t exist on the previous level of the ego, and only after did they become apparent in the growth of their new aspects. This drew the attention of the scientists, who immediately began to research them. From this psychology was born.

In the same way, in the beginning of the middle of the last century, integration and cooperation began to appear. In principle, it had already begun in the days of Columbus, from the discovery of the new continent and mutual cooperation that indicated the end of the period of the Middle Ages and progress towards our times.

Thus, our explanations must be based on the data of scientists, on their research, on their importance and value in the eyes of the society, and on nothing else.

Today all kinds of scientists are beginning to explain the facts about integration. Thus, it isn’t worthwhile to pull out the sources of the integral system from the past. It really was discovered in the ancient world, but it waited until our times, until the beginning of this century, the 21st century, when man’s ego had ended its growth and become integral.

Freud Is Not My Consultant

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Why is it that scientists such as William James and Freud are not seen as part of our generation?

Answer: Because recently our desires have begun developing very quickly, rising so rapidly that each generation simply doesn’t understand the previous generation; we can see this very clearly.

In the past children were like their parents. A son stayed at his father’s home and worked at the same place that his father worked. If a father was a blacksmith, then his son was a blacksmith too. If a father was a weaver, then so was his son. When the son got married, he built his home next to his father’s, or they lived under the same roof. This means that everything developed in a simple linear way.

Technologies like the printing press developed from one generation to another, but they didn’t lead to any great changes, they were only simple machines.

In the 20th century we were suddenly part of a technological breakthrough that released our inner desires. Indeed, our desires, our perspective of the world, changed rapidly with every generation in the previous century. If a generation referred to a whole lifetime in the past, then today it refers to periods of 15-20 years and in such a length of time everything changes completely!

People see me as a dinosaur, and it is really so since the perspectives and flavors of my childhood, in the 50’s, the previous century, are all ancient history today. Time is so condensed now that it is simply beyond the limits of modern man’s understanding. Besides, in my days there was a totally different approach to science, technology, and culture. We had to read a certain number of books, to know musical pieces, and art. You were not considered a man if you didn’t absorb everything that was created by humanity, if you didn’t visit about 20 museums. It was embarrassing if you didn’t know something or didn’t understand.

Today it isn’t so. Today all this is put aside from the beginning. If you have a modem and a computer, you don’t need anything. A person doesn’t process the centuries old human culture through himself anymore. There is a totally new approach. I’m not criticizing anyone; I am simply stating a fact.

The search isn’t from ancient times till our days since the time axis is suddenly broken and has become round and  integral. The world is different and so the knowledge of the past is useless in the present. For the first time we begin to experience this in every aspect of life: in our professions, our family life, etc.

I can’t read books that were written 20 or 30 years ago, which advised us in the past, because the advice is irrelevant today. So every couple of years there is a reformatting of all the experts in the field of medicine, science, and technology in everything. The world today has not only accelerated, but it is also locked in a round integral system.

Although those psychologists were great innovators, they discovered the linear egoistic development of humanity, so we cannot use their advice today. Freud based his theories on man’s sexual urges, but today they take on such a form, such a change that I doubt whether we can use them to solve the problems of modern man or modern society.
