NJ’s Richest County Leads Rise In Food Stamp Recipients

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Bloomberg): “‘New Jersey’s Hunterdon County, the hilly region of horse farms and weekend retreats where last year’s median household income was almost $100,000, is a surprising new face of federal food aid.

“The percentage of U.S. households using food stamps has more than doubled in six of the 10 wealthiest counties in the nation as more residents find themselves out of work and unable to sell their homes. The increase among counties with more than 65,000 people was greatest in Hunterdon County, according to Census Bureau data compiled by Bloomberg.

‘“Sometimes people will come in a Mercedes,’ said Gina Davio, 41, program director of social services at Fisherman’s Mark, a non-profit social-services center in Lambertville, a city of 3,900 on the Delaware River. ‘Sometimes they come in nothing but Ralph Lauren, but you never know: That may be all they have left.’

‘“We see a lot of families who used to make a lot of money and are in a transition mode — whether it’s due to a divorce, loss of a job, or medical bills — that don’t have the ability to put the reins on the way they were living,’ Davio said.”

My Comment: The crisis is created to force all of us to feel helpless and to compel us to evaluate the cause: our egoism and resistance to unity. Of course, this is not the realization of evil yet, but we are on the way to it.

After having realized that egoism is the cause of all our suffering, people will quickly find the way to rise above it. Many intuitively find our materials and see the causes of the crisis, its necessity and purpose.

European Politicians Use Tiny Jedi Swords To Fight Crisis

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Dmitry Vydrin, political analyst): “Not all European politicians understand the routes of today’s economic crisis, advisor to the Ukrainian president Dmitry Vydrin told the international conference ‘20 years without the USSR –CIS – Eurasian Union’…

“‘I have recently been to the European Parliament, to Bundestag… I got an impression that a huge number of adult men confront the crisis using toy-like Jedi swords without understanding the reasons, the basics, or the foundation. Maybe, we will help Europe handle it. They have money, we have experience,’ Dmitry Vydrin said.

“He also noted the Ukrainian government sent him and other specialists to France to study some materials in order to draft a constitution using the French model. Back then the Ukrainians got a lot of recommendations from their French counterparts. ‘MPs, senators, and the Mayor of Paris gave us wonderful recommendations, great tips: what to do and how to do. Now, all our questions face grim silence or formal replies,’ Dmitry Vydrin said.

“‘Unfortunately, Europe (I like it very much and wish it well) is making the same mistakes that [brought to the collapse of the USSR] 20 years ago,’ he said.”

My Comment: The collapse of the EU will have much more dramatic consequences and possibly lead to a world war.

The Formula For The Distribution Of Means

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: 15 years ago I took part in a personal growth training, which was divided into several stages. The last stage was realized in real life. We gathered and discussed things that were actually interesting. What was fundamentally different about that place was that it was supported with money, earned somewhere else. How can this be realized according to your program? A question arises: Where will I get the same apartment, the same bread, clothes, etc.?

Answer: Become part of this society of the future. Take 100% of the people with 100% of all the resources and distribute them based on the calculation that the society is working on providing everyone with a normal minimum necessary for existence. And the rest of the time people only spend creating an integrated connection between them.

You will see where you need to take and where you need to add something, and how many resource you will need to create this integrated connection. Naturally, the society will need to earn these resources.

Integral Upbringing With No Sudden Movements

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How can integral upbringing, which explains the general mutual connection, help us come out of the economic crisis smoothly?

Answer: We don’t perform the correction on the economic level, the financial level, or in the mutual commercial connections among us, but in our awareness and our recognition. We have to recognize the mutual connection among us and the need to adapt to nature.

It is as if we all buy a pair of new integral glasses. When a person puts them on, he will see one “round” world. He will see that we are all connected and that we depend on one another. We are so interdependent that only I can feed you and you can feed me. By ourselves, we will all die of hunger.

This seems terrible to our egotistic nature, but from now on there is no other way. And we can see that it is really close.

So we have to raise people’s awareness and then with this new perspective, we will gradually change our life. Our life will change because of the changes in us, whether we like it or not. How will we see it in the banks and the stock markets? This is another question. First let’s start to change, and then everything will begin to take shape.

This process will undoubtedly flow in the right direction because when we understand the total mutual connection, we will not be able to harm one another.

Therefore, integral education is primary and it should be arranged above all else. There is no need to dig too deeply. The shortcomings of the current situation must be disclosed precisely to the extent that it will make us realize the need for education and that only integral education can save us. We should recognize the fallacy of the current system, but not touch the system itself. It is so rotten, that it may collapse as a result of one careless movement and leave us with nothing.

Question: But there are “fires” that must be put out now.

Answer: If you start with integral education, you will see how they immediately begin to subside. And besides, there is no other method. It isn’t the first time that the best experts are dealing with this problem. How many meetings took place and how many promises have been made—but no solution? No one has a fire extinguisher. Everyone says what he thinks: give money, save money, be careful of saving….

So I repeat: The solution is on a totally different level.

In the meantime we should stop making any unnecessary movements, keep things quiet, and publicly declare that we should be very careful. After all, we are up to our necks in the swamp and any wave we might make may drown us.

Instead we should rise to another level and activate the education system. Then, when we look at the world through these new glasses, we will know how to solve our problems. We will know it internally. Thanks to the new education, people will begin to change, and thus change the balance with nature’s forces. We will accumulate the power of mutual help and will improve the mutual relations among people and among nations, and gradually come out of the old, crisis-stricken world.

Above the old system, we build a new system: This is the same mutual guarantee, but it is now adapted to specific fields like education, the family, the state, society, industry and the economy. The principle of mutual guarantee will be determined in every field according to a person’s internal changes.

I don’t know any other solution. The problem is only in realizing this and here we are at a crossroad: Should we go on using the usual methods that will eventually bring us to the rise of Nazi regimes, wars, and mass destruction, or should we follow the path Kabbalists recommend?

The Financial Industry: Living In A Lie

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: The financial sector, including the banks, the stock markets, investment firms, and others make up a great industry. In the US, for example, the financial industry makes up 8.5% of the GNP and averages 33% profit. It is accused of causing the current global crisis, and at the same time it is flourishing even today. How can that be? After all, the economy is a copy of the mutual relations among us.

Answer: This is exactly the reason that the financial industry is flourishing. It lives in a lie, and it is aware if it and doesn’t want to change anything.

Let’s take the banks for example: Can we believe them today? There is no one who is closer to bankruptcy than they are. In fact, they are already bankrupt because they lack the assets that are registered in their names. But we are still filling our bank accounts happily. Why do we believe them?

We are aware of this fallacy, and still leave everything the way it is because we love to live in a lie; we like to be deceived and to have others lie to us. This is our life: We enjoy the shell.

Question: Could it be because people have no alternative?

Answer: It is all a psychological matter. People think that a bank is a safe place even though they know it isn’t so. The lie began when the financial means were disconnected from their value in gold. Since then the banks have multiplied their “virtual” financial debts, which have no backing. They are not connected to anything that has any real value anymore.

In spirituality, “money” is a cover, a Masach (screen), the real power to overcome. The financial professionals, in contrast, have turned money into a “phantom.” This is a big mistake, but they did it on purpose in order to be superior to others.

Today everyone lives in this lie. What’s more, we’ve already discovered it, but we don’t know how to get rid of it. The lie is the crisis. How can we solve it? The whole world is surrounded by a network of wrong mutual connections and it cannot break loose. it doesn’t know what to replace it with. Without it everything will come to a halt, including the provision of basic necessities for people. So eventually we are compelled to support this false system.

So what is the solution? I am for a gradual descent, instead of a sudden fall. In the meantime, by education, we can turn this evil into something good, without totally destroying the system. If we destroy it, there will be wars and total chaos.

We don’t need a global collapse. The recognition of evil this way will really be a terrible catastrophe, so it should be done wisely. What do the billions who suffer know? They won’t understand anything and in the meantime they look for scapegoats….

Jobless In The USA

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from RUNY.web): “Early last year, 75% of American unemployed received unemployment benefits. But the period of assistance, extended by the federal government up to 99 weeks, ended in the fall of this year for many of them.

“Consequently, the number of recipients dropped to 48%. Having exhausted their 99 weeks, two million cannot find a steady income still. By February, 2.2 million more may be left without the benefits. The average unemployed person receives $300 a week.

“A third of those who lost their jobs, and there are 14 million of them, did not have a permanent job for a year or more. As known, the more time a person spends without work, the less likely he finds something similar. This is due to the loss of skills, age, and the increase of applicants for the same place.

“In 2010, unemployment insurance prevented 3.2 million Americans from falling into poverty (annual income below $22,314 for a family of four). Those without benefits can expect to get food stamps. Nearly 46 million people receive food stamps now.”

My Comment: In a short time, there will be tens of millions of unemployed people. Governments must involve them in integral education and upbringing. This will lead to a healthier society and the restructuring of the entire social and economic system.

There Is No Easy Fix For The Euro Zone’s Debt Crisis

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (German Gref, President of Sberbank of Russia): “President of Sberbank, German Gref has pointed out he thinks the European Union has two ways to remedy the current financial and economic situation; they are – either to seek closer integration or to default. Closer integration means ‘the formation of, say, a kind of United States of Europe’ Gref said. ‘But it will need a long time to reach the target,’ he added.

“The other option, the disintegration of the euro, which means some of its member countries will go back to their former currencies ‘is fraught with disintegration of the entire European Union.’ Although this scenario gives more options to get over the crisis, ‘This is a much more honest policy that gives hope for regaining competitive abilities of peripheral countries and their re-entry to the currency orbit of the European Union.’ Gref added.”

My Comment: Mr. Gref does not see an optimistic option because there is no way he can see it. After all, it is only described in Kabbalah, and economists do not study it. The change in the common worldview is the foundation of the understanding of the world’s development. Instead of inventing theories and making mistakes in practice, we must copy everything from nature and follow it. Its demand for an integrated connection, for a universal mutual guarantee, is a mandatory requirement, and failing to carry it out will cost us dearly!

The Instability Of Inequality

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Nouriel Roubini, Chairman of Roubini Global Economics, Professor of Economics at the Stern School of Business, NYU): “This year has witnessed a global wave of social and political turmoil and instability, with masses of people pouring into the real and virtual streets…

“While these protests have no unified theme, they express in different ways the serious concerns of the world’s working and middle classes about their prospects in the face of the growing concentration of power among economic, financial, and political elites. The causes of their concern are clear enough: high unemployment and underemployment in advanced and emerging economies; inadequate skills and education for young people and workers to compete in a globalized world; resentment against corruption, including legalized forms like lobbying; and a sharp rise in income and wealth inequality in advanced and fast-growing emerging-market economies.

“The increase in private – and public-sector leverage and the related asset and credit bubbles are partly the result of inequality. …In Anglo-Saxon countries, the response was to democratize credit – via financial liberalization – thereby fueling a rise in private debt as households borrowed to make up the difference. In Europe, the gap was filled by public services – free education, health care, etc. – that were not fully financed by taxes, fueling public deficits and debt. In both cases, debt levels eventually became unsustainable.

“Firms in advanced economies are now cutting jobs, owing to inadequate final demand, which has led to excess capacity, and to uncertainty about future demand. But cutting jobs weakens final demand further because it reduces labor income and increases inequality.

“Karl Marx oversold socialism, but he was right in claiming that globalization, unfettered financial capitalism, and redistribution of income and wealth from labor to capital could lead capitalism to self-destruct. As he argued, unregulated capitalism can lead to regular bouts of over-capacity, under-consumption, and the recurrence of destructive financial crises, fueled by credit bubbles and asset-price booms and busts.

“Any economic model that does not properly address inequality will eventually face a crisis of legitimacy.”

My Comment: Equality can only be achieved as a result of upbringing people in the spirit of equality, that is, integral upbringing. Any other decision is a temporary break that only exacerbates the problem.

IMF Chief Warns Of Gloomy Economic Outlook

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Christine Lagarde, IMF Managing Director): “Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund, has urged countries across the globe to work together to fix the European debt crisis, and stimulate economic growth, urgently stimulate economic growth or risk a return to the Great Depression.

“In a stark warning, Lagarde said the global economic climate was ‘quite gloomy,’ and that no country or region was immune to the dangers posed by the situation in Europe.

“‘There is no economy in the world, whether low-income countries, emerging markets, middle-income countries or super-advanced economies that will be immune to the crisis that we see not only unfolding but escalating.’

“She said the Eurozone crisis was ‘not only unfolding, but escalating,’ adding that: ‘It is not a crisis that will be resolved by one group of countries taking action. It is going to be hopefully resolved by all countries, all regions, all categories of countries actually taking action.’

“The most alarming part of the speech — made at the US State Department in Washington — are where Lagarde warns of the consequences of failure. They include: ‘Protectionism, isolation, and other elements reminiscent of the 1930s Depression.’”

My Comment: The correct opinion is being formed gradually that the retreat from further integration threatens unpredictable consequences. This gives some hope that despite egoism, humanity will gradually acknowledge the need to reach unity.

Help Yourself To Be Born!

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Jeff Harding, journalist, ETF Daily News): “The rest of the world continues to slow down and the negative data is accelerating. The big powerhouses of the world, the eurozone including Germany, Japan, and China are leading this trend and there is no reason to believe that the U.S. will not follow.

“The central banks of the world, including the Fed, have been doing all they can to support their economies with plentiful money.

“While these economies are shrinking, demand for commodities, capital goods, and manufactured goods all decline.”

My Comment: But it’s wonderful that the crisis is expanding! To this day, humanity has passed through the “still,” “vegetative, and “animate” stages of its development. The crisis is the birth of a new level of our development: the level of “human.”

This is the level of ascent of man above his body and the existence in the new reality of “Adam,” that is, in our integral perception of ourselves and the world. We are only required to look at the world differently, without clinging to the past, but examining what nature does with us and to what it leads us. We should not resist, but understand the trend and facilitate our birth in the new world.
