Question: In the past, in Ukrainian villages, they would build a house in one day. All the villagers would come together and build it. Is it possible in a Kabbalist group, when people would gather and give all their strength and all their energy in order to help others in some way?

Answer: I think that now the Creator will bring us to this. He will invite very big changes in the economy. Masses of people will become unemployed. They will understand that in order to survive, they will need to unite and in this way will find a correct system for connection and unity. With our help, they will find it, and specifically in this form they will exist, doing everything together.

But since this will already be unity at a higher level, it will feed everyone with enormous energy. Baal HaSulam writes about this in the book The Last Generation. Thus, I think, that we are approaching this. Or through our dissemination and consciousness, or via big blows, in any case, humanity will quickly discover that without the correct connection and unity, including the previous studying, education, and knowledge, it will be impossible to do anything.

This is what we see today in Europe. They wanted to connect between them without any inner preparation, and now are separating. And this was a great problem for them. These were normal blows: Everything will fall; everything will collapse just to show people the necessity of unity.

The movement itself is correct, only not in the capitalistic ideology where each one takes for oneself all that he can, but a different ideology. Thus, we will be building together.

Will the time come when egoism is not against me, but “for” me, together with me?

This will happen when I move egoism completely away from me, put it in front of me, and separate us by restriction and the screen. Then, I will be able to begin to work with it like as help, and not against, but “for” me.

In other words, it is when we reach the state called Hafetz Hesed, the properties of Bina, and then rise further to the property of Keter.

After I fully master the property of Bina and I have the screen for this, when I can do with my egoism whatever I want, then I am starting to use it in the positive area. In the first stage, I only cancel egoism, and in the second stage, I begin to work with it for myself. This “beast” is already so tame that I simply use it for myself, and the darkness becomes the Light.

The main and only role of the group, I would say, is to increase the importance of the attribute of bestowal in my eyes. Many articles speak about it. If I have to acquire this attribute and to yearn for it, but I cannot do it by myself because I don’t know about this attribute, then I need some external source that will spur me in that direction. This is the group.

So the role of the group is to raise the attribute of bestowal in me, or the Creator’s greatness.

In order to discover the Creator, we have to prepare a place for His revelation. Now this place of connection between us is egoistic, and so the Creator in them is concealed. This is why our world, our state, is called the concealment of the Creator.

In order to reveal Him, we have to create among us attributes of bestowal that are compatible with Him. The place for the revelation of the Creator is the altruistic connections, the attributes of bestowal among us. They are first revealed in the group where we can develop them by constantly raising the attribute of bestowal and thereby become attracted to it.

Originally this attribute is called Shechina, which means the place for the revelation of the dweller (Shochen in Hebrew). The root of the word Shechina (in Hebrew) means a place to dwell (Mishkan) or a vessel.

Question: From a spiritual point of view do we have to divide our attitude toward the family, humanity, the Creator, and myself equally?

Answer: No. The most important is the group because within it we obtain the necessary condition, the basis, meaning the freedom of choice, intention, and connection with the Creator. Everything is determined within the men of the Kabbalistic group. Women and the rest of the humanity connect to them. The inanimate, vegetative, and the animal parts of nature are under all of them.

Everything is determined within the men’s group between the friends. Women add their desires, their pressure, and they participate in this. However, the network is made between the men’s desires because it is precisely they that are directed toward bestowal, although without the women’s part they lack the pressure for this. This is just like Zeir Anpin in relation to Malchut. This means that we need each other. Everyone knowing their mission complements the other one and we gain the integral Kli.

Question: You said that a good, strong group can solve any problem inside of it. If death is threatening a man, we unite, we do not give this person up, and something works out for us. However, what can be done if a man is threatened by a spiritual death due to breaking away from the group?

Answer: Here, it is his freewill. You can come to him, talk to him, convince him, and shake him up, in general.

You have the right to do it since you used to be friends with him. Nevertheless, he must give you some kind of a possibility for this, for the sake of the past.

However, if you see that it is useless, leave him be. Time will do its job, perhaps not even in this lifetime, but he will return the next time and complete it.

Question: How can I elucidate my egoism in spirituality if I am not there yet?

Answer: You clarify your spiritual properties even though you are not there yet based on your connection with your friends since you are trying to overcome your egoism and be associated with them through mutual guarantee. One’s aspiration toward the group in which everyone works together and tries to connect is similar to the states and desires that we will experience in the upper world.

I aspire to it as a child who pretends to be an adult. This is how he learns. The same applies to us when we start a new job. We use various models to educate ourselves and, thus, gradually acquire the skills that we need to fulfill the job.

It works the same way in regard to our spiritual work. I don’t know what the upper Light is, nor do I know what the next, higher state will be for me. The upper reality is outside of us and we don’t see how to approach it; however, only for this purpose was this world was created; the common (general) desire was split into billions of parts, allowing us to work with them, collect them back together, and learn how to adjust ourselves in a way that will eventually let us recognize that, on one hand, we are unable to collect the broken pieces together on our own, and, on the other hand, we are eager to accomplish it.

Then, we realize that not only are we unwilling to work on it, but, in general, we are totally unable to. But, at the same time, while continuing to act and make efforts, we begin sensing a huge desire to make it somehow come true.

Suddenly, those huge, diverse, and often times opposite states of ours gather into one piece. They still contradict one another since on one hand, we must bring up our tremendous, salient egoism, and on the other hand, we must aspire to the Light, to bestowal.

These states still are opposite to and isolated from each other. The Light that connects them together creating a spiritual vessel (a desire and the screen), has not descended to them as of yet.

So far, there is no screen, nor is there any connection between the Light and the desire. They are standing apart from one another. This oppositeness is felt within our desire as something very intense and contradictory, but we still must aspire to make it happen. Then, it will happen.

Egoism is called “help against me” because if I imagine it against myself, it really helps me. But if I associate myself with it, then of course it is an enemy. It all depends on how we position ourselves in relation to egoism.

How do I not forget that only when I do not identify myself with it, but see it against me, egoism helps?

This can be achieved only through the environment. A person will never be able to hold himself in this state. He will always identify himself with the ego and fall into it, if the group, like a magnet, will not raise him above egoism. There are two forces: from the top—the force of the group, and from the bottom—the force of egoism.

If the group can pull my “I” out of this egoism and keep it outside, then I will feel egoism against me. If it cannot raise me, then I will fall back into egoism all the time, and I will not be able even to remember to see it outside myself.

Therefore, only the group can take care of this by means of its opinion, by mutual guarantee.

In reality, “there is none else besides Him,” and the Creator would like to be revealed to the created being. However, if He revealed Himself, the created being would never be able to become independent. It would always “sell” itself to the Light and would not be able to separate itself from it.

That is why it is impossible to cancel oneself before the Creator, before the Light, because I am an absolute slave to pleasure. People know that themselves, and in this life, we are constantly controlled by the Light.

It is for this reason the Creator is hidden, but the group is open. So, we can begin to communicate with it and even rise above our egoism, which would be impossible with the Creator. And in everything else, it is all the same.

Except a human being, only the Creator exists: “There is none else besides Him.” Then, a person discovers that he does not exist either. There is only one upper force that fills everything. But this is after a person arrives at this on his own.

Answer: My group are those people, more correctly not people, but the souls with whom I am in contact. I want very much for my students to become the same group and join my group. I hope it will come true.

Question: Is it easy for you to unite in your group?

Answer: It is hard! The further a person advances, the more difficult it is because he has to deal with an increasing amount of different, obscure, unexpected personal and external properties.

Indeed, we have not been even born in the spiritual world. Can you imagine the problems of a young child who is 5, 10, or 15 years old and so on in comparisons with the problems of an adult. These problems are all the time increasing. But according to this, when every time you balance them, they reveal higher harmony, the Creator, greater attainment, feeling, awareness of all humanity, of the whole system. It is written: “Reward is according to the effort.”

Question: What state should we achieve at a workshop to be successful: awareness of what we want but are unable to unite or that we all have the same feeling? And if we do feel, is it an illusion? Because we cannot unite and become aware of this every day.

Answer: No, we are heading towards unity; we are uniting. If we were not united, we would not have felt new impressions and new understandings. The unity that we have reached here has not reached the spiritual threshold, but it is unity.

You now have the same understanding, feelings, and thoughts; you experienced all this together. You have tasted from the same source, the same questions, identical, similar responses, although there were many different ones, it does not matter!
You have experienced unity!
