Question: At the December convention, will it be possible to make a huge leap in the inner worlds?

Answer: We do not make a leap at the convention, but we go from our lowest state, which does not even have a name and does not belong to the spiritual ladder, to the first degree on it. This is not a leap.

We have to understand the difference between our preliminary work, which takes place before we step onto the ladder of the spiritual degrees, and work on these degrees. The preliminary work is very group-oriented. I include myself in others, they influence me and I influence them. I don’t have my own spiritual individuality yet. I don’t exist as a spiritual individual yet.

Therefore, if I include myself into thousands of people who are around me, I receive their opinions, desires and forces, and like in our world I use the capabilities that society has, which enables me to reduce my path a great deal. It’s analogous to taking an uneducated person from the jungle and teaching him to be a prince, like in the musical My Fair Lady.

We can all receive support from the common brain and the common heart, from our inclusion in one another. When I become included in the general field that others create and in which all Kabbalists of past generations take part, all souls, the entire common soul, then I receive the forces enabling me to make the leap.

It turns out that others worked for 20 years to attain the spiritual level while I came just a couple of years ago (or maybe 3 or 4 years ago, since every person requires a minimal time period), yet everything depends on my desire. I can become included in this common unity and ascend together with everyone.

There is a saying that goes, “Ask Me and I will render,” which means we can receive the spiritual state in advance and pay for it afterwards. This is possible.

But when a person already starts rising up the spiritual levels, a more individual development occurs there. Even though it also presupposes mutual inclusion with others, there a person starts consciously working with the Light and discerning desires.

Therefore, those who do not have spiritual attainment yet can adhere to society the way a small child holds on to an adult. Everything depends on a person’s efforts: He has the opportunity to participate in the convention and enter spirituality by virtue of the whole system.

Similarly, we also don’t repeat the corrections that the great people of the past generations completed. We are like little children they lift in their arms, allowing us to rise even higher. We are standing upon the platform they created.

And the same thing will happen with the beginners who join us at the convention: They will receive the same kind of support from us, from their “previous generations.”

How do we lead ourselves to a state where we will feel ourselves and others as one whole? It’s done by building a certain environment, and that doesn’t even need to be proven. Out of everything that surrounds us, an environment is the only tool that is capable of influencing us and with which we can influence ourselves.

If I influence others and arrange everything in such a way that they influence me in a certain way, this influence, moving through them and coming back to me, is perceived by me as an external influence. And that external influence changes me.

An environment builds a person. If a child is left in the woods, he will grow into the same animal like those that surround him. If he or she is sent into a good pre-school and school, he will become what that environment builds out of him or her. Therefore, we only have to care about the environment.

The environment can make us become anyone. An environment has power over us specifically because we are integrally connected. Each of us is a part of the whole system, a small cell in a huge organism, and it’s through this organism that its idea, power, plan, precise thoughts, and feelings become ours. We can’t resist them because we are included in this system.

We build such an environment together, but in fact, every one of us has to learn how to do that. Our goal is to consciously enter the next degree with the understanding of what we do.

For the first time, man becomes the creator of a new level in nature. Practically speaking, he doesn’t create anything specific, but rather consciously adjusts himself to this system. He becomes Adam (man). “Adam” comes from the word “Domeh,” similar to the next level of nature.

Thereby, he begins to understand the whole system of nature: How universal thought works, how it is governed, and why this happens this way and not the other. He begins to attain the purpose of creation and rises above the entire nature we perceive (still, vegetative, and animate) to the level of “Adam” (man) who is similar to all of nature in its higher design, through the entire noosphere, the higher dimension.

Sooner or later, we will reach that, but the questions is at what price. It’s either we go through great sufferings that will force us to change or we build a society that beckons us, adjusts us to this integral nature, and we consciously, with understanding, aspire to it with our desire and thus make our world better.

We all are very different and have different levels of desires, but everybody has their own individuality, a unique role, even though it may appear to be limited. There is no obligation to “reach the stars” or strive towards something lofty. No one is better or worse than others.

When we will reach an integral connection between us, each of us will receive complete knowledge and absolute awareness of the universe. Each of us will become “a free bird” connected with others. Yet no one will rule over us except for the general desire, goal, and plan.

In other words, we become connected with others and at the same time remain absolutely free. We sense a common thought like a bird in a flock. A bird doesn’t sense itself or others. It only feels the common thought: where to turn, how to fly, and what to do next. This commonality becomes its personal asset.

Being a part of a general system, we make decisions together with others, and then we implement our decisions and achieve results. The next decision happens simultaneously in everybody, together with its implementation and result.

In other words, we become one common body. Every person simultaneously manages others and himself. In other words, we reach the level of the upper force that governs humanity, and we are inside this humanity.

When we unite and feel the general force, desire, plan, and the general intelligence that governs us and that we have to comply with, and when we are in unison, harmony, and conscious movement with it, then we will feel the mind of the Universe or “noosphere” that Vernadsky spoke of. In other words, we will feel the upper force of the universe, the thought of nature, its highest plan, its beginning, and its goal. We will rise to the level of man, who will become the peak of nature, will be equal to it, and will understand the Thought of Creation.

We are required to become aware of this state, to understand it, to grasp this mind, this desire, this plan. How can we discover it? When we begin to move in unison, in harmony, like a school of fish, perceiving the movement of the surrounding field, and do so by our own desire, not instinctively like birds and fish, then we will begin to recognize this field, this great thought of nature.

The whole problem is how to find this field, begin to connect to it, and to find a common rhythm in our movements. To do this, we must change ourselves.

A person can change only under the influence of the environment, as we see it in ourselves and in our children. Otherwise, nature will change us harshly, forcing us by blows, putting us under the “steamroller of development.”

To avoid this, we need to be active and to create, in advance, the surrounding environment for ourselves that would bring us to a greater similarity to this single force of nature. Thereby, we will change. We have to surround ourselves with a simulator that would raise us all the time, unite, and move us closer to the force of nature, which today compels us to be integrally connected.

Question: Is it possible to bestow in our world without receiving pleasure, and how does one connect bestowal with our world?

Answer: We are talking about the transfer of energy, desires, and sensations, about the mergers of desires. We don’t generate Light; we only open the path for it with our intentions.

We are surrounded by Light that fills Malchut of the world of Infinity. However, as a result of the restriction, it contains a large amount of disconnected desires.

When we direct our intention to bestow toward one another, we as if raise the blinds within ourselves, and the fulfillment from the Light begins to circulate between us. All the “valves” open, and each one of us begins to feel that he exists in a single living organism.

Essentially we don’t receive or bestow Light. We only open the path for it with our intentions.

Question: People tend to think that mutual guarantee and unification is a threat to their exclusivity, that it erases their individuality. Every person feels special and does not want to give up this feeling for the sake of unity….

Answer: A person will always keep his exclusivity. No one will have to give up his initial, unique qualities. We unite on a level higher, above them.

Suppose I join a creative association of workers in the television industry: artists, screenwriters, authors, and other creative people who work to create a large-scale piece of art together. Should each of them stand out with his own individuality? Or on the contrary, should each be equally mediocre? Clearly, we need outstanding individuals with unique talents who put forth their best effort for the common endeavor.

We do not lose our exclusivity, but we lower our heads before the goal, before our brainchild. This is exactly what enables every person to reveal himself.

Today nature is placing us in conditions where we will involuntarily have to give up the animate excesses, which actually bring us nothing but harm. We have to build our lives based on what is good for the body, and not exceed this norm by an ounce. After all, anything beyond that leads to diseases and problems.

On the other hand, all of our successive movement, all of our development and flourishing, and the entire abundance of personal qualities will be realized in the spiritual dimension. Stated differently, in society I can find opportunities for self-expression, for personal contribution and participation as a person who is creative and influential. I can do many things in society and I do not demand anything in return besides a normal, sufficient, safe material life. The environment provides for the needs of my animate body, and in all other regards I want to be part of everyone, and there, in the common whole, to find my happiness, pleasure, and vital forces.

That is precisely where I acquire unlimited opportunities. No one limits me, I do not lack anything, and I do not compete with anyone or try to get ahead of those who seem more successful. Like a painter or composer, I realize and express myself fully in my art—in the creative work for the common good. I feel like a creator, and this sensation fills all of my desires.

Question: How can we measure efforts? History shows us that for some Kabbalists the path was easy and others suffered greatly. How can it be that one passed the Machsom (the barrier) in five years, another in thirty years, and still another made great efforts and achieved nothing at all?

Answer: We cannot compare people’s efforts. After all, we don’t know their starting position and their place in the general system.

Suppose someone is on the top fifth position in the pyramid of souls. However, accordingly, he is born with the worst desires, with the most corrupt attributes, and he has to work on them many years—say not just thirty, but thirty years times ten live cycles. How long does it take for him to reach the states that allow him to reach his “place” and to attain the root of his soul? In the meantime, you feel sorry for him: “Poor soul!” But another person may belong to the middle layers and do his work easily in a couple of years.

As far as we, people with the point in the heart, the souls that belong to the category of “Israel,” are concerned, we have to work very hard. First, unlike the “nations of the world,” we were at the top already and went through shattering. Their desires to receive were always that way, but our situation is much worse, and hence our corrections are much more difficult. The hatred towards the nation of Israel and the troubles it went through over the course of history attest to it.

Even the spiritual path, the ascent to the mountain, is much more difficult for us than it is for the rest of the world, for whom the ascent will be easy. People will just join us: “Yes, we want to, we are ready.” They will really feel that it is worth it. The evil inclination, the shattered desire, hides in us, and not in them. They only bring their “weight,” the load that is tied to your feet. Now you have to invent the mechanism that will lift this heaviness.

How can we create such a “fork-lift truck”? How will it operate? What blocks and ligaments does it need? We have to decide this. People bring us their luggage and leave it at the terminal, like in the airport, and we have to load and deliver it.

There is no reason to be outraged by it. Moreover, no one can claim that his path is easier or more difficult, compared to somebody’s else. After all, you do not “clothe” in the other, and hence you can’t compare or complain. By nature, you are absorbed in yourself, and you cannot measure efforts.

The economic system of today’s world is the most obvious demonstration of our connection with one another. That’s because we are primarily connected through the economy, production, and trade. And we see that there are several thousand large corporations in the world that are interconnected, that envelop the whole world, not giving us a chance to move.

But they also can’t move! And now, to their shock, they are discovering this and don’t know what to do. They don’t have any freedom of movement in relation to one another.

This is how the common, global system of mutual guarantee is being revealed to us. But we don’t desire it, we don’t aspire to it from our end. Yet nature, the Creator, is showing us the mutual guarantee, our connection with one another. Under these conditions, how can my mind possibly help me?

The mind can only help me in one regard: to leave my animate mind and start learning, becoming familiar with this system.

However, this system is not built according to my earthly mind because my mind is personal, individual. It helps me exist in this egoistic world, showing me how to win more and do more for my own benefit, thinking that others were created to serve me.

But now, when I am revealing a system with which I am firmly connected and on which I am fully dependent, my previous mind stops working. I have to adapt to this new system! It’s as if I come to some unknown place and first of all I try to take a close look at what’s around me, to learn the customs of this place in order to adapt to them. And once I get to know it well, I can start acting in it and improving my state.

But how can we get to know this global system in which we have found ourselves if we cannot figure it out with our earthly mind? Even all of these huge corporations which seem to control the world, are in reality not in control of anything. And this is now being revealed to them. The mind of every particular person individually does not work just as the corporate mind does not.

It turns out that I now have to discard my animate mind and acquire a new mind—an integral way of thinking. This will be the creative mind, the mind of the common system, meaning the mind of the Creator.

It won’t be easy for us to acquire it. We will have to develop ourselves, turn ourselves into one, connected whole, try to feel ourselves as one person, one system. Then we will attain this single, connected system and will thereby “wrap up” our own egoistic desire and connect with one another. That is how we will gradually build our common vessel, reuniting the parts of the broken Lego.

Within the connection between us, we will reveal the upper mind, the program, its essence, and then we will understand what is happening! Only in this case will our state be corrected.

The order of degrees never changes because it comes from the first HaVaYaH, the four phases of the Direct Light. And when I receive the Light, it passes through all the degrees (Partzufim) that are between me and Infinity.

This is why the network where we exist is constant, like a crystal grid. Other kinds of connections cannot appear in it and connect me with somebody else in a different way. But forms constantly change in this system because when I want to receive from some place, I must change myself to suit it, become like it, and then it’s as if I have opened a connection with it.

Connections always change due to the changes in the one who receives, and it turns out that I constantly create different connections. But they are defined by my qualities, which are renewed every time to correspond to the one that I am connecting with: one of them, another one, a third one. In other words, I do not determine what the changes will be like, but all I need to be concerned with is rising higher.

And when I rise in my qualities (and I have 613 desires where different changes happen), I change my connection, my relationship with other spiritual objects, different people, groups, and formations of the common soul this way. This is why I discover a new world every time.

But this world depends on me in contrast to the eternal and immutable system, which exists before me in its complete and perfect form. This is why Kabbalists tell us about their attainments. After all, every person experiencing this process of correction connects with this system in a new way every time. It is as if there was a certain fixed matrix, a crystal grid, where you constantly utilize different connections. But every person, ascending the degrees and rising from one state to another, discovers wider, deeper, and richer connections, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

And through the attainment of this system of connections, he attains its Creator.

We are in such concealment that we don’t even feel it. We perceive all of reality only inside ourselves, and everything that we feel is impressions inside our egoistic desire that actually doesn’t exist at all.

In the spiritual world there is no such notion as the desire to enjoy that receives for its own sake. If the desire is aimed towards itself, it cannot receive anything and stays in the dark. Our egotistic desire, however, is on such a low, base level that we are allowed to feel some kind of reality in it, an imprint of what seems to us as reality.

When we begin to develop and gain greater desires and intentions for the sake of bestowal, we start sensing the upper system. Before it happens each of us is like an unconscious person in delirium who feels some kind of an imaginary world in which he seems to exist, like someone in a coma, who sees various images running through his head, as it sometimes happens in a dream.

When we wake up and come back to our senses, our desire is already on another level and has the intention for the sake of bestowal. Thus, we become aware that we feel everything inside our desire and that there is nothing on the outside. Everything that previously seemed to us as external was also a sensation inside the desire to receive.

We attain the spiritual world in our desire to receive too. The still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature, all the people, all this big world, and everything that’s happening in it are merely changes in my desire to receive, which make me feel that the world is changing. I discover the other souls, meaning foreign desires so that I can connect them to myself with the intention to bestow, and then they become parts of me that help me measure to what extent I am in bestowal.

I’m kept in the fog purposefully, so that I won’t be able to feel the others while I try to bring them closer and feel them as inseparable parts of me. If I try to bring all of what seems like the external reality closer to me, I can correct my vessel to bestowal.

The extent to which I bring the external, foreign desires: the still, vegetative, animate, and speaking and unite them into a single whole, into one spiritual organism that consists of “brain-bones-tendons-flesh-skin” (Moach–Atzamot–Gidin–Basar–Orh) or of “root-soul-body-garments-chamber” (Shoresh–Neshama–Guf–Levush–Heichal) is a measure of my approaching the truth. Indeed, there is no one but me who feels all of reality inside myself and thus builds a vessel within so as to perceive the Creator in it.

I have to bring all the parts together until they all become as “one man with one heart” and all the people that seemed to me as strangers become part of my soul. Thus, each of us advances without disturbing anyone. Each of us builds his own world on his own plane, in his own cut, attaining it as his inner world. And the Creator fills this world, which means that a person is in adhesion with the Light, with the Creator Who fills him.
