Question: Is our task not to try to solve anything ourselves but to once again ask the Creator to come closer to us and thereby accept any of His decisions?

Answer: Our work comes down to the fact that we want to be connected to the Creator, to adhere to Him, and that is it. After all, any other action would always be incomplete and imperfect except for the one that leads us to adhere to the Creator.

Therefore, we need to think about it, which is the easiest thing because we should not interfere with the Creator’s care for us.

Question: How do we interfere with Him taking care of us?

Answer: Perhaps with your wrong requests.

We must always strive to be as close to each other as possible, to help each other as much as possible, and to imagine as much as possible that we are in a continuous and great connection with each other. And to the extent of the quality of this connection, we can reveal the Creator. Attaining the Creator is our most significant task—something that the world lacks so much.

As a result, we will reveal the Creator to the whole world and thereby give Him maximum pleasure, since His property of good that does good is revealed to both sinners and righteous. Then the entire world Kli will be filled with the light of the Creator.

Question: We say that the Torah is light, the Torah is a description of the system of the upper worlds, the system of the Creator. How do we attain this system?

Answer: By revealing the spiritual system, we attain it through our feelings. A person will not be able to enter the sensation of the system of governance if he does not reveal it within himself.

Then it becomes clear where we are, what shines for us, what we are limited in, and so on.

Question: Can you study the Torah by reading any Kabbalistic source? The question is only about the intention, not the material, right?

Answer: Of course. If you want to correct yourself, it does not matter which Kabbalistic text you study; it will still affect you.

Question: Can we take our desire, which we wish to use for the Creator, and apply it to the group? By channeling this desire toward the group, can we bring contentment to the Creator by doing it for Him?

Answer: Don’t you have your own desires?

Comment: All my desires are for the group.

My Response: Then you should proceed in that way. Channel all your desires toward your friends and connect with their calculations and intentions so that all your impulses are solely for them.

Comment: It seems to me that we lack focus on the Creator. The group is near, we see it, and we feel it. If we do something for it, we bring contentment to the Creator through that.

Question: Who are we to the Creator—His sons or merely “horses” for realizing His plan?

Answer: We are like riders who can guide their horses toward the right goal.

Question: Why is the horse larger than the rider?

Answer: Our desires are typically much bigger. With these large desires, we can eventually achieve their fulfillment.

Question: If taming the “horse” is difficult, how can we gain control over it?

Answer: You must check all your intentions, and filter out the ones you recognize as egoistic. By doing so, you will keep the Creator separate from those desires.

If you have been practicing the Torah Lo Lishma for more than three years, as Rabbi Yosi says, and five years, as the Tana Kama says, then the Braita warns you that you will not see a good sign in this path you are treading! (Baal HaSulam, Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot)

Question: Is it correct to tie the study of Kabbalah to a specific timeframe?

Answer: The group (the “ten“) is obligated to set certain goals for its development. Therefore, regardless of the timeframes indicated by the Kabbalists—whether it takes three years, ten years, five years, or fifteen years—you must still feel where you are.

Question: How should we formulate this goal for ourselves?

Answer: As it is written, the best is to see a good sign in the work within three or at most five years. If we do everything required of us, within this time we will achieve within our ten the revelation of the Torah, the Creator, and the spiritual path.

Question: How can we tell if our ten has reached this point?

Answer: You will start to feel this as you move forward. Just as when driving a car, the road opens up before you, so too, the path will be revealed to you gradually.

Question: At the convention, we always experience a spiritual ascent, after which I feel confident that I will regularly attend lessons, disseminate, write articles, and edit texts—do everything. Of course, this is a temporary state. How can I use this feeling without getting stuck in thoughts about myself?

Should I take this responsibility upon myself first, or should I think about my friends, and ensure that they have the strength to do the same? How can I avoid disappearing until the next convention?

Answer: If you disappear until the next convention, you will just become an auditor who arrives only to attend, observe, and listen—nothing more. The most important work is the daily effort between conventions, in order for you to regret such a state’s existence.

To return to a passive state after the convention is much worse than if you had not attended at all. You came, you connected, you filled yourself, and then you left, which spilled it all out. You did not add anything to yourself or others; it is a complete loss. Beware of this state. Life may end with a more negative balance than when you began.

If there is no dissemination, then all of it is in vain! Look at what Baal HaSulam, Rabash, and all the great Kabbalists write about this.

You were chosen, not to sit and listen to the teacher’s beautiful words, but to bring the world to correction. If you are not doing that, it is better to do nothing at all. Go and rest. I am speaking seriously.

You cannot imagine what will happen to a person who has received an attraction from above in order to bring the Creator’s will into the world through them, and they do not fulfill it. It is said about this: “It would have been better for them not to have been born at all.”

Question: Sometimes you say that the Creator does not exist, that He can only be revealed in bestowal and good relations between us. So to whom do we pray if the Creator has not yet been revealed?

Answer: It does not matter that the Creator has not been revealed relative to us. We simply ask Him to understand us, come closer to us, and bring us closer to Him.

Question: How can we feel the Creator’s desire toward us at every moment?

Answer: For this one must strive to be in bestowal toward the Creator. Then, through the equivalence of form, you will sense His attitude toward you. Through His response, you will feel that you have made the right step toward Him. And to always be ready for the Creator’s response, we must consistently and clearly approach Him, and not leave it from time to time, but continuously gain strength of pressure on the Creator, strength of drawing closer to Him.
