Question: Does the feeling of shame in knowledge somehow contribute to our ascent in faith above reason?

Answer: Possibly yes. But this will not manifest now, but on the next, higher stages. We will feel shame for our desire, our states.

Question: And in this way, we will rise in faith above reason? Or do we still need some other parameters?

Answer: There is still much more that we need. So simply continue studying.

Question: You say that prayers have existed for thousands of years, people have prayed for thousands of years. Have they have been praying incorrectly? Because we don’t really have much happiness, and we don’t we have much money.

Answer: Over thousands of years, we are gradually maturing toward the state where we will finally understand what true correction is. And it is in not asking for anything, but using what we already have. All the conditions are there for us to correct the world, and they lie in relating to one another with love. If you cannot do this, if you really cannot, then you may turn to the Creator.

Question: This is what prayer is?

Answer: Yes, and there is nothing else to ask for. Give me the ability to relate to another with love, as You relate to us.

Israel is a desire that has passed through the shattering in a step-by-step descent. Israel receives enormous egoism due to the fact that the light of Infinity enters its will to receive and inflates it.

A tiny black point in the white light expands to the full magnitude of the infinite light. It must attain the same power as the light—the Moon must shine exactly like the Sun.

Question: Is the root of corruption the very desire to receive itself or my dependence on the desire to receive, that is, the conscious or unconscious execution of its orders?

Answer: No, the desire to receive itself is the foundation for all the Klipot, for all the wrong actions and intentions.

Question: It is said that the Klipot create concealment. Does this mean they necessary after all?

Answer: Of course they are necessary. They show us in which cases our desires, intentions, and actions are incorrect. Therefore, without Klipot, we cannot move forward.

For every action of the light, there is an action of the Klipot.

Question: In addition to looking ahead, a person sometimes glances back. This gives rise to a certain piercing feeling called nostalgia. Is there a spiritual root to this feeling?

Answer: Yes, a person is drawn to the past first because it is familiar. And what is familiar is already perceived as pleasant and easy since it carries no element of threat. That is why we love the past. There are people who very much enjoy old, naive movies, books, and so on.

Personally, I believe that one must look forward so that the future will become familiar to us and will attract us with goodness and shine for us. One must not turn back; otherwise, we become like Lot’s wife, a pillar of salt. We must move only forward! By looking back at the past, we are as though preserving ourselves.

Question: In order to cling to the Creator with my desire, do I need to imagine Him as the best source of pleasure and the solution to all problems even in an egoistic way?

Answer: You need to imagine Him simply as the only source. Even what you are now thinking about, deciding, and feeling yourself as existing, this too comes from the Creator.

Question: And do evil deeds also come from the Creator: murders and wars?

Answer: Absolutely everything! And the fact that it seems to us that these are evil, harmful, terrible actions, is only because we have not corrected our perception of these actions.

If we evaluate them differently—in the quality of bestowal—then we will see them as bestowing, as good.

Question: What is the difference between the Creator and Atzmuto?

Answer: Atzmuto is something we do not touch at all. This force precedes its manifestation in us so we cannot talk about any of its properties. We can talk about the Creator because this is an intermediate step between us and Atzmuto.

Question: But it also does not manifest in us since we do not yet have the property of bestowal?

Answer: We are talking about the Creator purely theoretically. Kabbalists tell us that everything we receive, everything we deal with, comes only from the Creator.

But no one can talk about Atzmuto: not us or the Kabbalists.
