Question: Can a person come to bestowal only by revealing his opposition to the Creator through the efforts he applies? If it seems to him that he himself revealed the awareness of evil within himself and did not attain this as a result of the path, is this simply a lie?

Answer: A person’s sensation is not a lie. But what he thinks—that he himself revealed this—is a lie. Everything is done only by the light. In the desire to receive, a sensation cannot arise if there is no light.

A sensation is composed of two opposites; the gap between them is what creates sensations in man.
