Sukkot is considered gladness, considered “rejoicing Gevurot,” which is repentance from love, when sins become for him as merits (Baal HaSulam, Shamati 97 “Waste of Barn and Winery”).

Sukkot symbolizes the end of the spiritual path when all the overcoming, resistance, all the problems we encountered on the path now lead us to repentance from love. All crimes turn to merit. All egoistic desires with all their transgressions will be corrected and will turn into commandments and merits.

This is what the  holiday symbolizes. It appears that we really took the “waste of barn and winery” and raised it over our heads.
