Why Are Diamonds So Valuable?

563Question: Why are diamonds so valuable?

Answer: Because they mattered to the mighty of this world. Suppose, if I am in some country and do not know what will happen to me in the next moment, then I naturally try to turn what I have acquired into a form that I can easily hide and take with me.

In principle, gold, silver, and diamonds exist as the equivalent of human effort. There must be such an equivalent. I need to know how much I earn. It has always been evaluated.

Previously, for example, I had to know how many camels, sheep, horses, or hectares of land I need to give for something. How can I evaluate? It is the equivalent of labor.

As soon as a person—a blacksmith, a tailor, and so on—broke away from his own land, he needed exchange, commodity relations arose, and immediately an equivalent must appear.
