We can’t come into contact with the Light unless we utilize the corrected souls of the Kabbalists and the authentic books that they wrote. The Kabbalists of the past are the owners of the system which delivers the Light to us.

How can a person achieve this contact with the Light considering that it is the most important thing? The Kabbalistic group and books create the contact for him. The books connect one with the system of the corrected souls.Through the group, when one tunes himself correctly to the spiritual goal, he can annul himself and ask for the Light of Correction.

The group serves as a filter for us. If we can put our desire, our appeal through this filter, it means that our appeal is correct. It then corresponds to the Upper system of the corrected souls and it will deserve the answer from Above.

The Zohar, Chapter “Shemot (Exodus),” Item 247: Sixty is Malchut, the mighty ones above, from the side of Gevura that cling to carvings, meaning to the externality of the holy Haya of Israel, which is Malchut. This is why they are named after her, sixty queens [Malchuts]. Those are angels appointed over the nations. Eighty maidservants are the angels appointed by the carvings of Malchut, beneath the sixty queens. This is why they are called maidservants and not queens. And there is no number to the maidens….

Everything that we read in The Zohar transpires within desire. There is nothing else but desire. We are reading about its inner phenomena, changes, and various relationships between its parts.

It is a great device, collectively called Malchut, which needs to change, each time bringing itself to greater equivalence to the Light. Therefore, all the names and terms written in The Zohar exist within Malchut, within our desires, in their various interrelationships.

Hence, we need only think of how to draw the Light to the desire described by The Zohar. Though we don’t understand specifically which qualities or changes are being depicted, or anything that’s going on there, still we await redemption: for the Light to influence this desire, for us to understand and sense the desire and the Light that fills it, and to feel them together. Indeed, it is impossible to feel one without the other, but only if there is contact between them, even to the very first, minimal measure.

That is what we are waiting for. And all the words and letters that we read in The Book exist only in this desire – in our soul.

When we read The Zohar, we need to connect everything there is into one reality that already exists within our soul. The soul is what we call the Malchut of the World of Infinity (Atzilut), meaning all the worlds incorporated together, “I” or “the whole world and I.” All that belongs to my soul since my soul is a tool of perception.

Who is the Creator? It is the inner power that acts within my soul; it is the reason for my existence, the cause that forces me to pursue revelation of the universe and the Creator as the source of my life.

The Zohar tells us about the soul and its various parts as well as the states and processes it goes through. Because of my desire to learn more about the soul’s states and processes, the soul is revealed; I find the tools of perception with which I feel the actual world I live in, but which has, thus far, been concealed from me. Kabbalah is called a “hidden” wisdom since it is the study of the concealed world and the process to reveal it.

In addition to the study of Kabbalah, the group is given to us to help us disclose this world. The parts of reality which I call the “Kabbalah group” or my “fellow-group-mates” can help me with this task. They are the active parts of reality, the only active parts of reality. I can feel the group and want to connect them with me. Together with them, I can work to bring them closer to me.

I can’t work with the rest of reality this way because I don’t sense the same kind of feedback that I can get from the group. These active parts of reality are given to me by the Creator so that by working through them I can bring myself closer to the rest of reality as parts of my own soul.

A question I received: If I am surrounded by parts of my own soul, why can’t I force them to awaken to spirituality?

My Answer: There can be no coercion of this sort; there is no coercion in spirituality. Those surrounding you are not parts of your soul yet. If you already felt them as your own, then you would become connected to them and awaken them.

The awakening would come from your love. Currently, you want to awaken them due to your egoism, by force, using your power. This is forbidden to do! When you correct yourself and begin to love your neighbor like yourself, your view will change. You will see that everyone else is corrected, and you will not want to change anything by force at all.

A question I received: Why was Sodom destroyed? Its laws seemed to be just. Everybody received what they were due.

My Answer: In Sodom, everybody stayed to himself. “Leave me alone, stay away! I give you nothing, you give me nothing. Then we won’t have any conflicts. Everybody is by himself. Everything is fair and just. You got a problem? Take it up with the Creator. But leave me alone!” The citizens of Sodom had turned this into religion. But, in and of themselves, the laws were not bad.

In contrast, the state of the world today is far worse than Sodom was. Now, not only is everyone separate unto themselves, everybody wants to destroy, steal from, and use everybody else. This was not the case in Sodom. The city’s laws stated, “Don’t be good to others, but don’t cause harm either. You’re forbidden to even wish harm to others in your thoughts!”

Sodom’s only flaw was that its laws prevented people from uniting, “Do whatever you want, but don’t get close to others.” This means don’t connect with others. It also prohibits waging war; however, war, too, is a kind of connection or, as in a breaking, a kind of interpenetration.

A breaking is no longer a state of “Sodom” but rather “Jerusalem.” When the broken parts of Bina and Malchut connect to one another, they can be corrected. However, Sodom cannot be corrected because there is no mutual connection. It can’t receive the qualities of Bina, and therefore, it simply must be destroyed. It is forbidden to touch these parts of the desire to enjoy that can’t mix with others, which as result cannot be corrected.

Sodom’s ideology is incredibly strong. In today’s world, we can bring it out, explain it to people, and they would understand and wish to follow it; however, it’s flawed in that it doesn’t allow the mixing of the parts of the broken soul, the qualities of Bina and Malchut, which is necessary for the next phase of correction.

There exists an empty realm in nature, which is there for us to have freedom of will. It’s there for man to take care of himself and complete his own development.

This means that we must hurry to build a machine that functions as an incubator in order to make up for what nature does not wish to complete. Suppose nature developed an embryo for just six months, and then left it without any support for the last three months. We would have to place the embryo inside an incubator that makes up for the missed development, supplementing it until the full nine months.

This is what happens with the development of our soul. Imagine what kind of state we are in: At first we exist inside the living body of mother nature which raises us and cares for us, bringing us to a certain state. Suddenly, it abandons us and tells us, “From now on, make do on your own as best you can!”

Nature has brought you to the “human” level, but this is a degree you have to build yourself. Yet, there is nothing in our world that can give us an explanation of what is the “human” or “speaking” level.

A human is one who stands opposite the Creator, and the only science that explains who the Creator is, as well as His actions, desires, intentions, and goals, is the science of Kabbalah. That is why it is so necessary for us.

Question: I would like to know if I started to study Kabbalah in this life and don’t achieve correction before I die, will I come to Kabbalah again in a next life? Will I remember something about this wisdom in my next incarnation?

My Answer: You must be confident that you will attain the full correction now! If not, then in the next life you will quickly return to Kabbalah on the level that you have reached now.

Question: How should friends of a fellow Kabbalah student, who has died of an illness, relate this to the Creator?

My Answer: We cannot judge about the reasons because we do not see the system of souls and do not understand why death happens to each of us, as for example to the Ari who died at 38. When you will reveal the system of souls you will understand the role of bodies.

Question: What is the best and easiest way to explain death and incarnation to children according to Kabbalah?

My Answer: Explain it in the same way you explain it to an adult. They will accept it, be satisfied, and won’t be scared!

A question I received: What happened during the breaking of the common soul that enabled correction to be possible thereafter?

My Answer: The breaking brought about an inter-inclusion, mutual penetration, and true unity between different qualities. Prior to the breaking there were two incompatible qualities that did not overlap and even repelled each other: reception and bestowal. Later they came closer to one another and started to be expressed within one object – Nekudot de SAG. However, this closeness was similar to oil that’s poured over water, or two pieces of metal that are glued together; they still don’t have anything in common.

In these cases, it’s possible to apply an external force in order to overcome the mutual repulsion. This will force one quality to enter inside the other. Yet, even then, both qualities will still continue to exist. For example, we can mix liquids together by way of vibration, or cause metals to merge together by way of fusion. This produces different types of metal alloys that are soft or hard, malleable or rigid, as well as the type that can be made into thin sheets. However, this is not true unification.

In spirituality we have to attain true unity between opposite qualities. We don’t yet understand what this means. This isn’t just simply taking a little bit of Malchut and a little bit of Bina and mixing them so they would exist side by side. Spiritual unity is when each one helps the other and each enters inside the other. The qualities of Bina penetrate the qualities of Malchut, and the qualities of Malchut enter Bina. Thus, they exist together, complementing each other for the sake of attaining a mutual goal.

First their qualities grow closer, until reaching a common boundary during Tzimtzum Bet. Only then can they intermix with each other and penetrate one inside the other. However, they still don’t unite, as the Zivug takes place over Tzimtzum Bet, in Nikvey Eynaim Rosh SAG. But then, under the influence of the most powerful Light, which comes from Zivug AB-SAG, they receive a blow and break. That is when their qualities “melt” and a new, mutual quality is born.

This is how the unification of Bina and Malchut takes place as a result of their striking unity and breaking (Shevirat HaKelim). New spiritual Patzufim of the Worlds ABYA come out, in which Bina and Malchut work together, jointly. This is why it is called “unity” of the qualities of reception and bestowal, where you are “instead of me in every way, and I am instead of you in every way, and both of us are together.” This unity is possible only when the Upper Light maintains it and does not let it disappear.

Thus, the Worlds of ABYA, which conduct Light through the quality of Malchut and Bina as one whole, are able to correct the broken soul of Adam – his parts, our souls.

The Zohar, Chapter “BeHukotai (In My Statutes),” Item 5: …and the awakening of the act above depends on the words of the mouth. As we need to evoke the higher holiness with deeds and words, those who come from the side of impurity should awaken their side with deeds and with words.”

Item 6: And although Balaam was the greatest of all the wizards in the world, Balak was a greater wizard than him, since in magic, Balak was greater than the sages….

What does it mean “to awaken impure forces with our deeds and words”? Isn’t it better to keep silent, inactive and not to awaken the “sleeping dog”? No! Our advancement finds its path between our actions and words that in turns appeal to impurity and sacredness.

The “magic” means using the power of the Creator for the sake of confusing people and showing them their true evil nature. Those are the forces that are hidden within us and without which we won’t be able to reveal our egoism.

Angels of evil who work within us are: Balaam, Balak, Azazel, Aman, and others. These names imply the forces of the shattering of the soul; they represent its separated parts, not some “outside powers” since the only power that ever works outside of us is the Creator.

Before shattering, all souls were interconnected within one whole, harmonious system and were merged with “the One, the Single, and the Only.” After shattering, these parts obtained a new type of connection that brought them certain “benefits” and at the same time prompted them to “kill” each other.

Similarly, one nation becomes allies with another only to conquer “the third party.” This force is called “impure” because on one hand, it is a miraculous power of unity that comes to us directly from the Creator, on the other hand, we use it with a wrong egoistic intention – to harm others.

If we knew how to use this power, we would be able to thrive for a short period of time, but it is obvious that this prosperity will come to its end shortly. All evil people and dictators begin with encouraging people to unite, to help each other, and to build socialism because an evil force cannot attain power over a human being if it doesn’t hide itself behind a “good” mask.

The evil force “buys” a person by presenting with him “a partial truth” that serves as a cover for a big lie. It seems to us from the outside that we are getting a great “offer,” but in fact this “offer” is a well concealed lie with the purpose of deceiving and using us.

There is a universal connection, a hierarchy, or chain in the common system of the souls. The development of the different types of souls happens according to this connection. In their development, the souls always depend on the preceding souls. They are connected like a father and son, cause and consequence, or teacher and student. However, there is one, special, exalted system above all the types of connections. It penetrates the system like a live organism and operates in different directions. This system is called the system of Rashbi.

It is the transition between the part of the system that is corrected and the part that is uncorrected. The corrected part is filled with Light and contains the corrected desires which are all ready for the common, final correction of the entire system. This part includes those that have already revealed the entire 125 degrees of the proper development of the common system of creation. The uncorrected part still needs to realize the state it is in and begin its correction. The uncorrected part is us, all the souls on the level of this world.

All of us will have to go through the step-by-step correction with the help of the system of Rashbi which is absolutely at the height of the 125th degree. The revelation and the influence of these corrected souls happens to us through those connections and preparations that they have built in the form of a system called The Zohar (the Light that descends from Arich Anpin of the world of Atzilut).They have created this kind of system for us so that we will find ourselves in a proper environment as we connect to it. After all, our entire development depends on the environment.

When we try to connect to The Zohar, we can receive everything we need for our correction from this system that represents the group of Rashbi and his students. These souls have made special corrections in the Upper Light in which we can clothe ourselves through The Zohar. Through them, we also can connect with the Light or with the Creator.

Rashbi uses The Zohar to reveal to us the gates that lead upward. He reveals them to the extent of the value that we give to the greatness of this system and our ability to connect to it with the purpose of using it to attain the spiritual goal.
