Question: In the beginning of September, we are having a convention in the north of Israel. Today, with all our efforts directed towards external dissemination, what is the importance of such “internal” gatherings?
Answer: One does not exclude the other. As a group, we are studying the science of Kabbalah: the roots of creation and its correction and the spiritual actions of a person that stand behind his corporeal acts. In his interaction with others, willingly or unwillingly, a person activates an enormous mechanism that he is not familiar with. We study this mechanism and learn how to understand and operate our internal actions by means of external acts. Essentially, this is the purpose of our study.
We are studying the system and find the points where we are connected with it, where the spiritual system ends, giving a way to the corporeal one: the bodies and forces of our world. The connection of these two systems lies in my desire: If I cancel it in relation to the other, I see him or her in spirituality. If I lower my head before the other, he or she becomes my spiritual Kli (vessel). This is how I ascend to spirituality.
A fellow human being is above my current “I,” beyond the Machsom (the barrier separating us from spirituality). If I treat him the way I treat myself, I ascend to his level and we become one whole. This is how I cross the Machsom.
I transfer new pieces of my evil inclination, which I have down here in this world, to the other. First of all, I saturate my attitude towards him with bestowal for the sake of bestowal, correcting the so-called “mistakes.” And later on, I switch to correcting the “transgressions.” This way, I move my point in the heart upward, revealing the evil inclination in me. As a result, by proper connection with the other, I raise myself to a higher degree.
The “other” is humanity. The rule of loving thy neighbor as thyself applies to the regular people. It seems like I was given an exercise: to change my attitude towards them. Without their knowledge, I’m transferring my “I” into the spiritual world, realizing the transition stage. The science of Kabbalah explains this using special terms, but to put it simply: In this way, we acquire a good and safe life for ourselves and our children.
Getting back to the question, the benefit of our conventions is in the study and, most importantly, in internal connection and unity. Only when we connect, become closer and closer, and cancel ourselves before one another, only then do we have something to address the world with.
First and foremost, we bring the spirit of unity. This is why we need unity events, when the friends gather together for a few days. We plan to hold such a big international gathering in December. Without that, we won’t have the power of unity to pass on.
I hope that our December convention will take place on a new level. Then, all the friends who come here from around the world will get so much strength that they will be able to lead the dissemination of Kabbalah worldwide as all the events that are happening in Israel now will eventually come to their countries as well. There will be a need for the method: Even if unconsciously, the despair that will overwhelm people will open their hearts towards unity.

My Comment: All the revolutions, the current ones and from past centuries, will sink into history. All of them happened under the pressure of a rigid, compelling force. However, recently, we have been under the influence of a new force, the integral force of nature, which pushes us towards unity either by suffering or by the realization of the necessity—and this constitutes our only choice.
Thus, no revolution will bring us a positive result. The former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown wrote that everything that was happening happened only to compel us to unite, to equalize ourselves with the global world of nature. But he could not undertake anything because unity can be reached only by attracting this force upon oneself. And Kabbalah, the science of the correction of our egoism and unification above it, describes how to do this.

Baal HaSulam, “One Commandment:” “…by accustoming oneself to serving people, one benefits others and not oneself. Thus, one becomes gradually fit to keep the Mitzvot of the Creator with the required condition—benefiting the Creator and not oneself.”
I do not follow, do not understand, and do not grasp this principle. If I need to work and to unite with humanity, this is clear to me. We are here together; the gap between me and others appeared only due to the breaking, and I feel myself as separate from them. So, I have to overcome, correct this force of the breaking and become united with them.
But what about the Creator? Perhaps He is somewhere outside and I can reach Him through humanity. Or, by uniting with others in the group, I discover that He is inside, among us, and even fills all that space.
Nonetheless, it is difficult for me to pave the way, directing myself at the group for the sake of the Creator. What does this mean? This is a vague requirement. I understand relationships with other people, but how can I build a relationship with somebody in addition to this? Our problem is that we cannot imagine the correct picture, and therefore we remain confused for a long time.
”The Creator” is the quality of absolute, final, perfect bestowal. The unity between me and the group is the vessel for receiving the quality of bestowal. We want to achieve love and oneness between us so the world becomes “round,” global, integral. However, it has to be done for the sake of the Creator, which means, in order for the quality of bestowal to connect to us, to dwell and reign inside of us.
Thus, it is forbidden to ascribe any individuality or image to the Creator. This is “idol worship” or, literally, “foreign work” because it leads us aside, in a completely different direction. The Creator, Boreh, means “come (Bo) and see (Reh). If you enter a group and reach unity, then, by virtue of the friends, you reveal the quality of bestowal, which is called “the Creator.”
That is why it is written: “Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one” where “Israel” is me with the friends (or humanity) and the Creator. In other words, the friends and I together are called “Malchut” or “Shechina,” and I reveal Zeir Anpin, which becomes expressed inside Malchut, according to the oneness which is achieved in it.
Hence comes the meaning of the formula “to serve people to bring contentment to the Creator.” Under no circumstances should you imagine somebody or something as the final recipient of your efforts. The Creator is neither a person nor a phenomenon, but the property that becomes revealed in us. To draw yourself such a recipient means to be engaged in idolatry, to create an idol. If we always stick to this rule, we will have no problems.
After all, we want to eventually build the system which will embrace all vessels and Lights. This is Malchut of the world of Infinity, where we are in unity and cohesion, where the Light is revealed in the vessel. We came from there, from the First state. In the Second state, we correct our attitude and nothing more, and come to the Third state, becoming conscious of and understanding the world in which we exist from the beginning.
There is no image that exists outside of us, for whose sake we should work and to which we should come. Just schematically, our intentions and calculations are added to this sequence: first we create a vessel, and then, to the extent of its ability to unite, according to the law of equivalence of form, we reveal the Creator in this vessel, according to the principle “come and see.” Thus, we reveal Malchut – the desire, which remains unchanged.

Question: Can you briefly describe the concept of mutual guarantee?
Answer: Mutual guarantee is when every person understands that his good depends on the good of the other. It cannot be good for me if it is not good for him. I cannot feed myself, but rather, I feed you and you feed me. This is the only way to live. Otherwise, we will die. Choose: there are no other options.
To this extent, we should feel our interdependence. Food is the most important thing for man, but no one can provide himself even with the necessary things without realizing this condition of mutual unity. Everyone will provide for others and not for himself. Nature will compel us to unite with each other in this way, and no other.
Everything else follows from this feeling. As in a close-knit family, together we take care of our children and support our parents. Would we leave a sick grandfather in trouble? Of course not. The condition of mutual guarantee obliges us to do this, and there is no need to introduce special laws. The main thing is an appropriate atmosphere in society, which is created by the media and the environment that condemn or respect certain relationships between people.
However, today, while the Israeli society has not adopted the principle of mutual guarantee yet, we must firstly help all those who cannot get by on their own. Let’s discuss together how to raise people living below the poverty line. This is our first concern because no one in the family should fall below the lowest bracket.
Let’s “put out the fire” and at the same time, work on public education so that the nation moves in the direction of mutual guarantee, which nature itself demands from us today. The upper world descends upon us and expresses itself in the form of the mutual guarantee.
It will take six months or a year before people begin to realize and internalize what is going on. However, today, mutual consent is already required to help the needy who have no money to feed themselves until the next paycheck. Let’s provide what is necessary for them now, and then discuss the rest.

Our broken souls are in the worlds of BYA (Beria, Yetzira, Assiya), and when we unite, we will ascend into the world of Atzilut, which means “at his house” (Etzlo). If we ascend there “from below upwards,” with our own forces, then we attain our final correction. In this way, we correct the breaking that took place in the world of Nekudim.
However, if we are unable to connect into one soul, then we are in another realm, as the Creator, Zeir Anpin of the world of Atzilut said, “I cannot be in one place with an arrogant man.” We are the “arrogant man” and are beneath the boundary of the world of Atzilut (Parsa), in the worlds of BYA which are “separated from holiness.”
But the worlds of BYA are also a spiritual level where a person feels separated and distant from the Creator. He has some understanding, knowledge, and sensation of his uncorrected, spiritual state. On the other hand, when a person just starts out on this path, he is even lower, not to mention those who simply live a regular life in this world and have not even started moving toward bestowal, meaning those who are in no way connected with the spiritual ladder yet.
Yet, to the extent we are able to attract the Light that reforms with our mutual work, it will enable us to connect with Malchut of the world of Atzilut, from below upwards. And if we make efforts in order to belong to Malchut, by that we bring her separate organs back and glue them back together.
Malchut of the world of Atzilut is just a point, while all the souls are below the Parsa. And if we ask and desire to belong to bestowal, to unity, to mutual guarantee and love for the neighbor, then we draw the Light of correction upon us and rise to Malchut of the world of Atzilut—the assembly of all the souls.
From there we begin to work to become similar to Zeir Anpin of the world of Atzilut, the Creator. And the unity of Zeir Anpin and Malchut raises us even higher, to the state of the final correction.

If we want to ensure that all the programs have long-term prospects, the criterion by which we have to check them is whether they view our society as a family. We should solve all problems only in this way. Thereby, we will come to the solution together. Otherwise, decisions will be made under the influence of force, various manipulations, and in the long run, they will turn out to be ineffective: Each will be somewhat flawed.
This sounds as something remote from politics and all those means which the government usually uses: force and money, but there is no escape because people have to perceive solutions precisely in this manner.
Social justice are nice words. But what is it in reality? That is why we should always observe this global, integral approach, without which no nation, no society, can implement any changes today.
Everyone should understand that there is no other approach to solving problems. We have entered a total and complete interconnection in our relationships, which requires the participation of everyone in discussions and decision-making. And all this has to happen in an atmosphere of mutual concession and assistance because the national “pie” which we share is not limitless. That is why we have to discuss this altogether, and everyone should understand that he will not receive a 100 percent of the desired and ought to concede.
And if the spirit of “mutual connection” will reign between us and there will be total agreement between all the citizens, they will realize that we can advance only in this way. This will make an atmosphere between people healthy, and decisions will be taken in the spirit of participation and love. As a result, this will change the overall atmosphere, and this form of decision-making will improve the relationships between all the conflicting parts of society.
Of course, this approach contains more than the establishment of good relationships. If everyone will sit down at the “round table,” and each, demanding maximum for himself, begins to understand the demands of others and is ready to sacrifice some of his, even justified requests, this way we will arrive at the general consensus among people, and they will start connecting.
Thereby all the parties and social strata will enter the integral network, having connected all the nation together. In this way, we will reveal the general integral force that will raise us to the next level of consciousness and existence.

Question: There will be a Kabbalah Convention taking place in Toronto in a month, called, “WE are for the world.” Could you say whether it is important to participate in it physically or is it enough to connect virtually?
Answer: I think that for everyone living in North America that has the opportunity to attend the convention in Toronto, it makes sense to go there. This will be a big convention and it will be taking place at a very special time, when the world is changing very rapidly.
We should unite and be together as much as possible, and therefore, it would be good if the convention gathers as many people as possible. This will create a big force that will enable us to make changes both internally and externally.
I invite everyone to come, and I see one’s participation as an opportunity to receive additional force and make a leap in correction.
For example, yesterday, we had a wonderful lecture in the city of Netanya, and now we will travel to give lectures in a different place every week. I invite everyone to come, and to bring friends and relatives. This is a wonderful opportunity for a person to become a bit more connected with the general system, and it awakens and corrects his soul. It would be a pity to miss such opportunities.
To our students across the country: Once or twice a week, try to go to the places where demonstrations and protests are being held to distribute our materials and to talk to people. This is called practical Kabbalah.

Comment: It is impossible for anyone to break their ties with the others. But when the ties are egoistic, whoever goes down takes the rest with him and uses their demise purposefully to save himself.
Therefore, the only alternative is to rise above egoistic, protectionist solutions and begin to act only on the basis of common, global, integral, total dependence and mutual guarantee. There is no other solution. Egoism itself is pushing us to change it.

Changes are now required on the part of man. He must change himself internally, rather than changing anything outside of him. The systems that we built, economy, society, and education, were developed according to our growing egoism. But now it is time to stop because we have begun to develop internally in a way that does not accord with our growing egoism, but with the correct form of our ego, the form of bestowal, mutual connection.
Today, the world is revealing the spiritual form. It’s a miracle to see how humanity is acquiring the form of bestowal—total interconnection.
In the beginning, we became separated from each other. There was a breaking on the scale of the universal system, and as a result, no one was connected. But now the system has started to close and we are becoming more and more tightly connected with one another. This is called “the integral world.”
We are revealing the system that is showing us the corrected world. However, it is showing it to us from the outside, while we have to adjust ourselves to it on the inside.
In essence, this is the Creator, the Light being revealed to us! If we bring ourselves into harmony with this connection and universal globalization, and if our desires acquire the corrected form, then the Light will be revealed inside them.
We should try to understand that the old methods are no longer effective and there is nothing we can do with them. This must be acknowledged as a fact. Nothing will help unless we think about connection. There is no other way for us to correct this world.
We will not have any instruments to use in the economic system. Even in the army, the hero that wins does not do so by his own force. Nothing will work in our world besides the power of connection! The more we unite, the sooner we will succeed, and everything will work out in the world and in society, from the inside out.
We have reached the actual implementation of the method of correction, and we cannot escape it. Time obliges us to this.
