What Is Unnecessary Will Be Sorted Out, And Only The Truth Will Remain

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: There was a mythological time when human communities were organized close to nature, which means that they were divided into communities of men and communities of women and lived together in harmony. According to literature, there was a joyful atmosphere and many jokes in the women’s community when the women gathered and laughed about things that had to do with the men. Can we use this concept in integral education?

Answer: We can use everything, whatever you want. We shouldn’t suppress any movement in any way. The only thing we should deal with is to raise our connection, the image of the upper One, to a collective movement, to a common feeling, to a general collective attribute of bestowal, to love.

All the rest will be sorted out by itself, and whatever is unnecessary will be deleted, and what is necessary will be intensified and rise. So, there is no need to pay attention to anything except for our spiritual ascent when our collective spirit, the connection, is constantly at the center of our attention.

Let’s Talk About Something Out Of This World

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is best to discuss in a group of integral education and what’s best not to discuss?

Answer: Figuratively speaking, we should talk only about love and friendship. We don’t examine our states because they all exist on the animal level.

First we must rise to the “Human” level, create a generalized image of it, our common quality of bestowal and love, our attitude toward one another. We can only hold discussions on the level of this network of correct interrelations between us, and only about things that strengthen our collective state.

Why so? Because, by becoming stronger within this state we begin to generate a certain force that illuminates our current animal state and it begins to change. Only from a higher state can we change our lower state. All of our conflicts will either gradually disappear or they will escalate before disappearing and on the backdrop of this we are developing our connection.

Don’t Think Lightly Of The Customs

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, Shamati, #168, “The Customs of Israel”: The customs of Israel are so important, that it is safe to say that they give more spirituality to a person than the Mitzvot themselves. This is so although breaking a custom does not yield punishment, and breaking a judgment does yield punishment. Still, concerning the benefit, meaning producing fear of heaven, the customs yield more spirituality, since the great ones who established the customs arranged it so that spirituality would shine through them.

There is a great problem as for the corporeal actions that are aimed at love and connection; actions which Rabash describes in his articles about the society. We mustn’t think lightly of them and thus we perform everything relatively.

A “custom” is a condition, a law, which I can’t perform on the spiritual level at the moment and so I keep it only in corporeality. I bring the friends contentment and try to fulfill the desires of the friends, to connect them, and to connect to them in order to bring them contentment. I constantly fulfill different actions that belong to the commandment of “Love thy friend,” to connection and to mutual guarantee. Indeed, neither I nor the friends have reached a spiritual fulfillment yet; it isn’t the fulfillment of the “commandments” yet, not the drawing of the Light that Reforms that connects, that awakens, and fills us. In the meantime we are on the level of preparation and all our actions are on the level of “customs.”

So we study, work in the group, carry out the advice of the Kabbalists, and it doesn’t matter whether we understand them or not. They attached special help from Above to their advice—the Light that Reforms. So, even though our intention is egoistic (Lo Lishma – Not for Her Name) from Lo Lishma we arrive at the altruistic intention of Lishma (For Her Name).

Everything that helps you reach correction in the meantime is used with the intention of in order to receive, which means with egoistic intentions, is called a “custom.” You operate in order to connect and even if you don’t want to connect, even if you are looking for self-benefit, the Light comes and brings you a different intention, which you couldn’t even have asked for. You didn’t even think about it, but it happens—you suddenly begin to appreciate the attributes of bestowal and love.

In order to do that, we need group work: to annul yourself, to raise the friends in your eyes, to spur them and yourself. Yes, you want to gain something by these actions, after all, you benefit by such actions since this is the only way to draw the Light.

It’s a simple law: The Light comes only to the desire that is similar to it in its properties. True, you haven’t reached an equivalence of form yet, but you have the corporeal body and this is what it was created for, so that with it you will support the friends and tell them how much you love them and how important the Creator is, and give them examples of bestowal and of self-annulment. With the help of our bodies we connect to one another. Although all our actions in the group are in order to receive, they are the type of actions Kabbalists have prepared especially in order to attain true connection.

My intentions are the opposite, malicious, I intend to use the upper world and the Creator for my own benefit, but the actions I perform are right and thanks to them, thanks to the mechanism Kabbalists have created, I can correct myself. Otherwise, how could I exit the shattering? Here the “customs” are necessary, the right action that lead to the right intentions.

Kabbalists have performed special corrections in order to insert the Light that Reforms into the customs after the “shattering.” The Light can’t pour into the “vessels” that are below, beyond the “shattering line,” within the desire to receive. Still it’s possible to raise the vessels that are beginning to wake up. Thus we begin to work.

Transformation Of The Pharaoh To The Holy Angel

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe force of Love of the Creator that from the beginning isn’t found in the created being is transferred to him in an inverted way. This is called the evil inclination. According to the measure of love with which the Creator relates to us, it enters us in a reversed way and breeds in us the force of hatred, a degree of separation. If we would invert it now, then it would turn to love.

The Creator creates the desire to receive and transfers to it all of His force of love. The desire itself is just a small point, but now it is in an environment of this force of love that it feels as a world of hate.

We must transform this hate back into love. That’s all! This is called the “mountain of hatred” transforms into the “mountain of holiness.”

We work only on our intention. We don’t consider the desire since it was given to us by nature. Everything depends only on where our thoughts are directed. Thus, it doesn’t matter what a person’s desires are. They don’t depend on him. From the beginning there are Taryag (613) desires, and all of them are for the sake of reception. Man wants to take advantage of the Creator and thus it is called Pharaoh. And all of our work is in transforming this Pharaoh into a holy angel.

The Joyful Tears Of Prayer

Dr. Michael LaitmanA prayer is mingled with the feeling of sadness, suffering, lack, different requirements, and the inability to justify the Creator. But the prayer itself should be gratitude. I thank the Creator for this opportunity to communicate, for the fact that He created me in such a way that I have a need to turn to Him.

That is, a prayer must come from love and not from claims. We are both happy that I have a request through which I can develop our love. A prayer must begin with our understanding of how happy we are to connect through this prayer.

A prayer combines two totally opposite poles, but the first thing in it is the point of adhesion due to the feeling that we both participate in one common action. I have to discover the empty desire that the Creator can fulfill. And I am glad that I have revealed this need in myself; otherwise, I would never have been able to express myself. Here, the two opposite parts are combined. A prayer is joy, not tears as it is accustomed to think in our world.

Love As A Gift To The Created Being

Dr. Michael LaitmanThere is nothing in the Creator but love. But because we have no idea what love is, the Creator created different means in the created being by which we can attain love.

Love is something strange which our ego doesn’t understand; it’s unnatural. How can it be that by tasting the different flavors the host has served before me, I will feel the love of the host? What does one thing have to with the other?

This is the essence of the creation, “something from nothing.” In the “nothing” there is something of the “something.” And so from the “nothing,” from the desire to receive, I can reach the “something,” which means that from the impression within the desire to receive I can reach love, an attribute that is totally detached from the created being in every aspect.

Suddenly there is a kind of miracle, when as a result of some actions and phenomena within the desire to receive it attains an attribute that belongs to the upper Godly nature.

This remains totally incomprehensible to us; how can such a miracle called “love” be born from the actions of “give and take”? It has nothing to do with the desire to receive.

Every time, on every level, we have to complete the actions and the impressions that we experience in the desire to receive so that we will be able to bring them all together and rise to the attainment of the attribute of bestowal.

The Property Of The Creator Is Infinity

Dr. Michael LaitmanAll our training is to create the vessels, desires, in ourselves in which we can obtain Infinity, the unlimited revelation of the Creator. So we need to stay in the desire to bestow, in such desires that are not limited by anything, and thus it is possible to reveal the Creator in them.

Love cannot be revealed in a limited state. We do not know what true love is, but that does not make the property contrary to any restriction, boundaries, or limits.

That is why, the preparation of the desire to reveal the Creator is to acquire the property of bestowal. And there is one more condition: We must be able not only to feel the Creator, but also to understand Him! To do this, we need to have an unlimited vessel. That is why our bestowal should be manifested in two ways: in feelings and in the mind.

We Should Only Strive Upwards

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe more strongly we are drawn to bestowal, the more our vessels of reception are enlarged for us. If our vessels of reception get bigger, we suddenly fall and find ourselves in darkness, needing to correct these desires. And that’s why we need the vessels of bestowal again.

So if we yearn for adhesion in bestowal, this is enough in order to constantly sway up and down, like on a swing: once in reception and once in bestowal. Each time you advance by enlarging both the vessels of reception and the vessels of bestowal.

But if you only think about your vessels of reception and about their corruption, constantly checking what is in them, it will lead to nothing. You will only discover their greater emptiness and nothing more than that.

The shattering occurred so that we won’t be left with our egoistic desires with no hope for correction, and as a result sparks of bestowal entered the receiving desires. Thanks to these sparks, the desires to receive can connect to the desires to bestow and disturb their peace. Thus they insert their ego into the desires to bestow, Galgalta ve Eynaim.

This way the desires to receive, AHP, also get a chance to be corrected. By that we can understand how important the broad dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah is.

Affliction Is A Test For Love

Dr. Michael LaitmanWe love the Creator as the source from which we derive pleasure. Clearly, this is egoistic and conditional love. If the Creator sent us affliction instead, we would certainly reply to Him with hatred.

But when a person, called “a worker of the Creator,” doing spiritual work suffers, he associates the affliction with his egoism and tries to relate to the Creator with love. It means that he divides himself into two parts, the part that receives and the one that bestows. In the receiving part, he feels suffering, but he desires to transcend above it. And then, he relates to his sufferings as a “check” that his love does indeed cover all of transgressions and that he can rise above all the states that give him pain.

Then, he understands, sees, and knows for sure that his attitude to the Creator is independent of his ego. Otherwise, he has no means or criteria for testing.

Therefore, the relationship with the Creator is based on the fact that he annuls himself for the sake of bestowal, that he perceives his original egoism as worse than death. But only under this condition can he be sure that his love for the Creator is unconditional and perfect.

Only Love Remains

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Is fulfilling the principles that Rabash conveys in his articles essential in order to attain spirituality, or is it sufficient to keep the group’s statute? For example, can I criticize a friend if I think it is for his own good, that I would be doing it out of love for him?

Answer: You have no right to teach anyone since you will always find a justification for your actions. You have to see the friend as great in “faith above reason.” This means to accept the fact that he is great and that only your egoistic eyes cannot see it. But! There are two buts here.

The first but is whether he is a real friend: Does he participate in the connection and unity in the group? This is the important condition and actually the only one. Does he yearn to participate in the connection and unity in the group? If he does, he is a friend, if he doesn’t he isn’t one.

Second, the criticism should be only regarding his participation in the group or in the work that he does. Suppose he works here as an electrician or in dissemination and he does something wrong, here we criticize him, which means that we try to correct his slips. But this doesn’t affect my love for him as a friend in any way. In such a case, I treat him as a performer of some physical work and that’s all. The two aspects have nothing to do with one another.

If he is a real friend, that is, he works for connection and unity, then I must simply accept him as absolute, as the Creator. “From the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator.” It is the same thing! Rabash writes beautifully about it saying that eventually the group is corrected only by love among all its members, which becomes the Creator.

So we don’t criticize a friend, but express our love to him openly. It is an essential condition. Thus we work correctly against our ego.
