In order to be in balance with nature, it is necessary to consume intelligently, meaning to the degree it is necessary, depending on every person’s needs. Baal HaSulam writes about this in the article, “Peace in the World” and in other articles.

However, this practice cannot be imposed through terror. It can only happen by means of education! Yet in their times the Russian revolutionaries took a different path, having discarded the principle of education.

In addition, this was taking place in an underdeveloped country, with the most underdeveloped population that to this day is used to living in practically feudal conditions. Today the people of Russia, who are good-hearted and kind, still agree to the feudal conditions in which Russia exists to this day. This is not a capitalistic, but a feudal country with its customs, structure, corruption, and all of its social relations. It is feudalism.

It might seem to us, “But how can that be? This, in modern society? Isn’t it long gone? In the West, Feudalism hasn’t existed for 300 years already.” True, in the West it hasn’t existed for 300 years, but in Russia it still exists. That is to say, every person still agrees to it. The people still haven’t developed above that level.

Only a small portion of the population, about 10 – 20%, cannot tolerate these conditions, while everyone else agrees to live in them. They don’t care that they have a master, that they have to submit to someone without law and order, that everything can be bought and sold, and that the rich are powerful and right. People agree to this! That is why it is still deemed a feudal level of social development.

Marx absolutely did not suppose that this kind of country would try to implement his idea. He practically laid out Kabbalah in the form of economic laws. But the egoism of the post-Soviet realm is completely different. This egoism is feudal and not yet ready for serious development.

However, when we work with each person individually or with our groups in Russia, we see an astounding result because the people have points in the heart. They are very responsive and goal-oriented.

The question is: Will the society be able to understand that it has to unite, but not by the laws it was brought up by in the Soviet regime? The unity has to happen by laws where everyone is equal, conscious, and unites consciously. The people of Russia are not used to uniting consciously. Will they reach this, will they be able to do it? That is, indeed, a question.

Therefore, our groups in Russia are very dear to us. I personally know this nation very well since I grew up there and my native language is Russian. But can we look at Russia as the country that has the ability to easily realize the Kabbalistic principles? That is something I do not know.

On the other hand, in Europe, despite the fact that the people are very different from the Russian image, all they have to do is overcome a certain external opposition, a certain shell or casing. After that, as soon as this idea penetrates into people’s thoughts, they realize that it is true and are able to realize it inside of them through their development.

In Russia it is easy to come close to the individual. But in Europe it is much more difficult! Yet I think that if we penetrate inside the individuals in Europe, they will find the forces and abilities inside of them to unite. Their conscious collectivism will emerge.

On the other hand, in Russia collectivism does not emerge despite this. There the society is not developed collectively. I think that it is not yet able to do this.

Nevertheless, notwithstanding all of these surmises, we have to develop Kabbalah and disseminate it everywhere. Of course, there is a great boundary in the countries that were once socialist. But this should not stop us. We shouldn’t give any thought to where it’s easier and where it’s harder, why, and how. We should work, and that’s all. I never make any calculations. We do not know what is better and what is worse, and how everything will occur.

Question: As long as we don’t actually attain every word that the science of Kabbalah talks about according to that word’s degree in spirituality, we won’t be able to understand it. Before that happens, we are simply playing around with the words, with abstract forms not clothed in matter. But if Kabbalah is being revealed as the method for correcting the world, then why does it come in a form that’s so abstract and unclear to a regular person?

Answer: Kabbalah is not an artificial or abstract method of correction, but the most natural one. If it is being revealed in this form, that means that this is precisely the form in which we have to receive it and it is the most suitable medicine for us.

That means I have to “take it” without resisting it or complaining that it is bitter, unclear, or that I don’t like the rules regarding how to take it. I must treat this means as absolutely perfect. This “garment” was tailored especially for me.

However, I am perplexed as to how it was intended for me since I can’t see where to insert my arm or head, and how to put on this garment! But I am told: Don’t worry, it’s tailored exactly to your size, no bigger and no smaller!

Therefore, I must only advance toward it, research and look for how I can dress into this garment. After all, it was tailored especially for me and has been laid out before me.

It is possible to slightly adapt the explanation, bringing it closer to people in order to make it easier for them to perceive this science. But in essence, it has already been presented to us in the most perfect form. We can complain that we don’t understand it since it contains many unsuccessful examples (as they appear to us), abstract names (as they seem to us), and The Book of Zohar is full of allegories that confuse us.

But despite this, if a person accepts all of this as salvational medicine sent to him from Above, then he has to take it as the perfect, most effective means that was selected especially for him.

The time when the wisdom of Kabbalah comes into circulation is not up to a Kabbalist. He receives a sign from Above as a revelation: rejection from the world to some degree and a striving to realize his mission.

These signs are absolutely clear, and he understands them since he lives in spiritual attainment. Due to the fact that he is connected with the upper force in the spiritual system, he sees how it arranges these conditions for him.

He does not pick the method either. There are no other methods; there is only one. However, in each generation, a new need arises, and hence a Kabbalist is able to explain more than was required previously.

The Kabbalists of past generations knew the entire method. Do you really think Moses or Rashbi weren’t familiar with it? Yet, they couldn’t express it openly, and that is why they wrote in a coded language.

In our generation, as Baal HaSulam informs us, a Kabbalist not only has the opportunity, but an obligation to reveal it. The generation has come that demands spiritual evolution. Hence, Kabbalists reveal it.

The type and degree of revelation are determined by the generation rather than by the Kabbalist because the need of the generation is what matters. For instance, if there were no students in front of me during the lesson and if I did not absorb their desires, I would have nothing to say. Even though I do have attainment, it wouldn’t get revealed or renewed.

Therefore, one on one with the camera, I can express some mundane things, but I can’t reveal anything new as we do during our daily lessons. This happens because a new desire awakens in the world every day, and through my students who are scattered around the world I feel the common need.

It includes all questions and desires such as the lack of perfection, striving to reveal the screens, the property of bestowal, and interconnection. The sensations of thousands of my students who are present at the lesson become concentrated within me, and I collect them as a mother who feels the need to feed her children. Then, as our studies go on, I see something new in the texts and my perception which didn’t exist before.

So it is every day, even if not everybody notices it. There is a reason the sages said, “from my students I learned most of all.” Why? This is because I receive desire from the students, which enables me to dig deeper into the matter of creation.

Question: You mentioned that evil is revealed in relationships between friends. However, if a person studies over the Internet and is not engaged in mutual work with others, how can he reveal evil?

Answer: I see that people enter Facebook and a number of other social networks and are simply living there. Passions are seething and love is in full bloom; people even get married – if it turns out that the couple is indeed a man and a woman.

Although the network is full of lies and filth, we should respect it. Once, we were walking with Rabash past a stadium, and he said: “We have to respect this place, it brings joy to people!” The same is true of the Internet. With all the garbage that’s in it, it connects people. It provokes people, forcing them to stir up all the evil hidden deep inside of them: envy, hatred, lust, hunger for fame, and lies. It’s has all kinds of things in it, but it helps us actualize many Reshimot (informational genes).

All of humanity is there and everyone is lying non-stop, wanting to outsmart each other, arguing and bickering. Do you have any idea of what it does to the ego? What other common ground could you find to bring them together? Which other place? Instead, with the help of the virtual connection, people realize (and process) their Reshimot and are moving forward in the understanding of their egoistic nature.

So why can’t we, those who are seeking to reveal the Creator, the property of bestowal, fulfill our spiritual Reshimot correctly through such a virtual link, too? I’m sure that the entire Internet has evolved just for that. We’ve come to the final stretch of the path and it’s time to accelerate our advancement. Thus, in order to satisfy their need as always, people have come up with such a connection.

That’s why we need to set up a social network between us so that every one of our friends, regardless of whether he or she is part of a physical group or not, will feel close to everybody and will be permanently connected to our general idea, the purpose of our joint effort, work, study, and communication.

Question: There are only several days left until the convention in Berlin. We already want to feel it now; we want to feel that the entire world Kli is in one state. How can we do this?

Answer: First of all, we need to realize how we can keep increasing the connection between us and make our dissemination around the world more intense. Our spiritual state depends specifically on this.

Our next spiritual degree depends on how much we will be able to expand around the world since the Light will correct and lift us accordingly. This is because we do not exist for us, for our ascent; we exist so Kabbalah will spread.

In “Messiah’s Horn,” Baal HaSulam writes that the dissemination of Kabbalah around the worlds is called a horn or the Messiah’s call. Messiah is a property that pulls man out of egoism (the world “Messiah” or “Mashiach” in Hebrew comes from the word “Moshech,” to pull). So this is what we need to do. If we assist the world a little more so it will come closer to the correction of its egoism, we will be lifted as much as the world needs. But if the world does not need it, we will not be lifted.

What did the ARI say on his deathbed? Chaim Vital, the ARI’s main student to whom he gave the ways of this wisdom, was not there at that moment. Baal HaSulam writes about this in his letter: “Isaac Cohen, one of the ARI’s students…came in at the moment of his passing and cried because their hope to see the world full of good, wisdom, and the Light of the Creator, which they had during their teacher’s life, was leaving.

And the ARI said to him: ‘If there was just one absolutely righteous man among you, I would not have been taken from this world prematurely….’ And the student cried: ‘So we do not have any hope?’ And the ARI answered: ‘I will come to you and teach you if you will merit it.’ And the student objected: ‘How will you come to teach us if you are leaving this world?’ And the ARI answered: ‘What do you understand in hidden secrets and the ways of my return to you!’ After these words he immediately passed away to live in the future world….”

Baal HaSulam has said the same. He died because his students were insufficient for him to continue the study with them. There are no other calculations here. When a person is needed, he is kept with this mission, and when he is not needed, he is taken. There is other work for him to do.

This is why we need to understand that we need to strive to circulate Kabbalah with all our might, and then we will be lifted. One absolutely and precisely depends upon the other! It is not that just one of us will not be able to ascend (this is out of the question!); the entire group will not rise in their unity if it will not properly participate in the dissemination of Kabbalah in the world.

Let us hope that this year we will change everything that depends upon us, and then we will really merit entrance into the upper world.

A Kabbalist has two functions: one relative to the Creator and the other relative to the created beings. In many cases, they are interconnected and one affects the other, but they are still two different missions.

Relative to the Creator, a Kabbalist does a special type of work within the system to which he belongs. There, he is connected with the Kabbalists of all generations who reside in this system as corrected souls. He realizes his designation in the root of his soul, in the place where he belongs within the system. By revealing the Creator, he delights Him.

Relative to the created beings who haven’t yet come to individual attainment, to the best of his ability, he shares the knowledge of the wisdom of Kabbalah and helps them to approach the upper system, consciously enter it, and take part in correction.

To accomplish this, Kabbalists write books. A book is a revelation. Every generation needs new books since with every new incarnation souls become renewed. They are characterized by greater egoism and a new type of perception. Besides, even in our corporeal world, the conditions for the Creator’s revelation are changing as well.

Therefore, Kabbalists have to keep improving the method of Kabbalah. This is the very same method that was revealed by Adam, but in every generation, it has to match the collective desire. As the desire grows, the conditions between the Creator and us change, and this is what Kabbalists write about.

When we attempt to penetrate the depth of a Kabbalistic text, we see that it isn’t simply letters and words, but rather a mechanism that works on us as we speak. The text is a program that is put on a person to work with his desire so that it starts corresponding with the upper system. That’s when the person becomes a part of it.

Through the book, a Kabbalist passes on to the students how to build the intention, how to act and interconnect. Moreover, he passes along the internal force from the spiritual system. It enters the person while he is reading, but affects him only on the condition that he desires to change to be like the Kabbalist whose words he is reading and that he wishes to penetrate the text to reveal that which is being described.

We need to try to build a state of an endless convention and be constantly impressed with many thousands of people gathered in one place. I have to feel the same “electric vibrations” anytime and anywhere. Distance doesn’t affect this spiritual force field. It depends on us; we can make this state of existence permanent.

This unique field of spiritual connection and direction is what is called a Kabbalistic group. In it, everyone retains the influence not only of the 7,000 friends, but of the millions of our friends around the world.

First of all, we create the group out of several thousands of our students, in which all of them are mutually connected within our integral network. If part of this group reaches the state of Arvut (mutual guarantee), it starts projecting this illumination outward, and it cannot be stopped anymore.

This is what is called the authentic circulation of Kabbalah. Everyone will have a chance to come, see, learn, and examine whether it fits him or not, and if it doesn’t fit today, then perhaps it will tomorrow.

This convention must show us an example of such a state, and it has to become permanent so we may ascend higher and higher. This is what will become the impact of the environment on a person, and it is our job to create it.

If the environment determines my entire future and the velocity of my spiritual advancement, then I must be concerned solely with how to make this environment stronger so that it would constantly inspire and pull me forward “by the ear.”

In that case, I will definitely come to the convention. After all, what else can advance me forward? I possess no other means but this one. I will come, but we must keep providing the same kind of influence all the time. Granted, there isn’t any other engine that fosters spiritual growth.

Coming closer to others means bringing their desires and thoughts closer to you so you will feel them as the desires of your own children. In the same way, the whole world has to become important to me as if they are all my family.

Then I will feel this “familial” connection more and more until I start to feel that they are parts of me, and even more than that—that they are actually me! This is a purely psychological problem.

To the degree I come closer to others, I feel the force that fills the space between us. That is where the Creator becomes revealed. The more concerned I am about every person in the world, the closer I come to the Creator and the more chances I have to reveal Him.

However, if I repel others and the opportunity to come closer to them, surrounding myself with my egoistic interests, I thereby shut myself and everyone else off from the Creator, from goodness and abundance. Thus, I evoke all of the evil and suffering in the world.

If people don’t start using the science of Kabbalah, then they will start separating from each other, and that includes separate individuals as well as entire nations. Then darkness will close in on people, being much more powerful than it is now. The Creator will distance Himself from us more and more, and when He reaches the critical mark, that is when a world war will begin. Everything depends only how close or far this upper force is. Its distancing will evoke all the explosions, catastrophes, epidemics, and wars, including a world war.

For now we are simply in “exile” (the loss of the sensation of the Creator). He is pretty close to us and is deliberately coming even closer in order to reveal the world’s global connection to us. It is still not too late. We have to understand that we are responsible for bringing this knowledge to everyone, and in this regard everything depends on our desire.

Year in and year out, we are trying to bring our lessons closer to people, to the world, and it is extremely difficult. Baal HaSulam wrote in his "Prophecy" that he had asked, pleaded before, the Creator to help him descend from his degree to be able to explain the method of revealing the Creator to people.

In the spiritual world, it’s very hard to lower one’s degree because there everything is completely transparent and clear. Since the upper degree is perfection, to "step down" from it on your own is even "more impossible" than to climb to it. There are no words to explain it either since spirituality is pure sensations.

Kabbalists managed to find words to convey spiritual information, but they intend them for their own peers in their Kabbalistic writings. Behind each word they pronounce, such as the "screens" (Masachim), "discernments" (Havhanot), the "rise of Malchut to Bina," and so on, behind special forms of the enlarged capital letters there stand spiritual notions.

For them, all of it is like a "musical score" for a musician who may cry or laugh simply by looking at it. For him, they are life-like sensations which immediately arouse feelings in him. It’s another thing, however, to take a musical score and relate it in words. If I asked you to tell me about your sensation from a symphony, what would you say?

However, we need to relate our feelings somehow. Although they are not spiritual yet and precede the entry into the spiritual world, nevertheless, our students and ordinary people on the street are separated by many, many years of development. If we were to broadcast our lessons in a unadapted form, nobody would understand them. It’s very difficult to descend from that degree, but we have to attempt to do it. There is still a lot for us to do here.

Question: There are several dozen of us in Holland getting ready to take part in the European Convention that will be held in Berlin. For most of us this will be the first time attending a Kabbalah convention, and some of the students still don’t realize what the point is of the convention and why is it so necessary to attend. How can we prepare them for it?

Answer: Europeans have to understand that their continent is in a very dangerous state compared to all others. Out of the whole world, Europe faces the greatest and most serious problem, which, if they explode, can escalate to a third World War.

The Europeans are in a very unstable situation precisely because they decided to unite, but on the other hand their union is egoistic. If one egoist separates from another with a boundary, then they are still able to maintain a connection through that boundary according to set rules. But if there are no formal connections and everyone comes to the common market with a common economy, and with the huge problematic reserves that Europe possesses, then I don’t see it having any opportunity to exist and thrive in the world.

After all, how would that be possible? It would go against the laws of nature. Therefore, Europe will face increasingly more serious problems unless Europeans recognize that it is necessary to correct their ego. They have placed themselves in a situation where they simply have no other choice.

Europe is precisely the place that now serves as the practical laboratory for actualizing the method of Kabbalah because it desired to unite, but did so based on egoistic profit. Now from one day to the next, it is bound to reveal that this is the most horrible evil there can be and the worst possibility of all.

That is why Europeans have to attend the convention where we will all unite together, attracting the Upper Force and desiring for it to influence this part of the world in order to correct it. Otherwise Europe might bring suffering upon the whole world and that will become our common problem. I am turning to you on behalf of our entire world Kli: We have to do this.

Europe is the most problematic place in the world, along with all of its disintegrating nations and common currency. I do not see any symptoms there of a good future. Even though Europe has a very good foundation, yet the relationships between all of the countries make that powerful potential precisely the factor that can lead to a huge explosion.

Moreover, besides the social problems, there are also natural disasters awaiting us, and we are completely powerless before them. The climate problems are growing worse and Europe is entirely dependent on the Atlantic Ocean, making it vulnerable from all sides. This is a very grave problem. Humanity does not have the powers or methods to withstand the situations that are now starting to arise in Europe, other than to follow the method of Kabbalah.

Our task comes down to one thing: To bring the knowledge of this method to all until it is implemented. Therefore, I am waiting to see all of you at the convention in Berlin! I have nothing else to add.
