Is Our World Falling Apart?

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Lester R. Brown, World on the Edge: How to Prevent Environmental & Economic Collapse): Can we change direction before we go over the edge? The world is in trouble. Plan A, or business as usual, is not working. Changes must be implemented at wartime speed to avert multiple catastrophes that feed on each other as each one tips the next one over onto a path of no return.

My comment: He wrote about it a few years ago, but in the meantime nobody is listening to him, although he is a famous publicist. Evidently, only shocks will force people to pay attention to it, but will it not be too late—not for the total destruction of civilization, but for reaching complete correction in a peaceful way?

The Economy Is A Copy Of Social Relations

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Billionaire investor George Soros, Ekathimerini.com): “We are on the verge of an economic collapse which starts, let’s say, in Greece, but it could easily spread. The financial system remains extremely vulnerable.” Europe is in a crisis, centered around the euro and that the authorities are only engaged in buying time, but that time was working against them.

Europe faces a choice to look for solutions at a national or European level. The survival of the euro is “vital for all.” There must be a European solution.

Over the long term the euro was bound to fail unless a political union was also established. While the eurozone had a common central bank, it had failed to set up a central treasury and had no common fiscal policy. “The euro had created divergence, where it had been expected to create convergence,” he said comparing the levels of competitiveness in Spain and Germany.

My comment: The great financier continues to solve problems using the old methods, but they no longer work. Nothing can be rebuilt without changing social relations; adjustments are not going to work.

For some reason, financiers do not see people behind papers, do not realize that the economy is a copy of social relations and that an economic crisis erupts specifically because they need to be changed. Therefore, financial crisis can be solved by social changes only.

Two Ranges Of Kabbalistic Broadcast

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe world is gradually being submerged into the global crisis; however, a simple person, the so-called law-abiding citizen, does not feel it. He does not see more than he is being shown at the given time. So, how do we reach them?

The wisdom of Kabbalah delivers results on two levels:

First of all, it is the attainment of the Creator, in the process of which we discover the eternal and perfect force. We merge with it as we reveal it, and in doing so, we save ourselves from the angel of death; we become like the Creator.

As I acquire this similarity, I no longer feel like I pertain to something finite and imperfect. Now, I belong to Him, even if it is only in the way that semen attaches itself to the wall of the womb. Now, I am in Him. Now, I am on a higher degree than this world. I have attained eternity, perfection, harmony, and freedom.

Second of all, in this corporeal life, I receive a method that allows me to escape misfortunes that gradually come closer and manifest in the world. In reality, I greatly depend on others on the level of this world. For this reason, I cannot guarantee that studying Kabbalah will make me feel comfortable. This is because here I exist in a common network that connects everyone.

However, I benefit a great deal on the corporeal level in things like childhood education and my personal attitude toward life. Kabbalah really helps me in the areas where I can personally influence my life, almost independently from others.

In this way, I am provided with advantages that I can feel even during the first years of studying. I can educate my children better, and I understand life better than others. Yet, the key element is my attainment of the Creator. This is “freedom from the angel of death.”

Naturally, it is easier to remain “Shimon from the market,” to sell watermelons, watch soccer at night while drinking beer, and be absolutely blind to anything else. What are the plans, demands, and dreams of such a person? Heaven for him is an infinite number of hamburgers on the grill in front of a huge plasma screen where his team always wins: His eyes on the screen, the hand automatically kindles the flame. We cannot explain anything to a person like this. He is tuned to a different wave length.

Kabbalah “broadcasts” in two ranges: One for those who strive toward the meaning of life and are able to take a new understanding of life from it. The second is also a treasure because a person begins to see the world more deeply and discover the mechanisms that drive it, the connections stretching through it. He sees people’s customs and manners, the nature of the universe, the flow of evolution, and the scale of priorities. You reveal to him our world, the global system, and he begins to understand the principles according to which it operates.

This is a very valuable gift. A person off the street is unable to understand what is happening, but here, he suddenly begins to connect one thing with another, and separate pieces come together into a nice image before him. He reveals the world where he lives and the journey that has brought humanity to the current state.

He did not understand these things until now. He was living behind a curtain: “This is my house, this is my job, my food, and my bedroom.” Now, the person opens his eyes even before he really begins to think about the purpose and the Creator. This is how he becomes a human on the level of this world.

An Overly Complicated System Requires A Solution

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Pavel Tsygankov, PhD, Moscow State University professor): The laws of international systems that we have discovered so far are not stringent enough to use them as the basis for making an accurate prognosis.

Complicated systems have a life of their own, and even control over separate parts of the system does not provide control over the system as a whole. Every action undertaken within the framework of such a system has undetermined consequences, which can neither be predicted nor traced.

If we are to take into consideration the different views of the seven billion people inhabiting the planet, the two hundred governments that control them, the innumerable autonomous bodies, thousands of non-governmental organizations, the religious affiliations, ethical societies, the world economy, the expanding systems of telecommunication, and the growth of the volume of information, it will become obvious that the area of international relations is the most complicated system outside of nature itself.

My Comment: We are arriving at the conclusion that only absolute reciprocity that resembles a single organism will be able to create a safe and healthy system out of seven billion people. But to achieve this, we need new kind of education, education of an integral person. Each one of us needs to be made into a particle of a single organism. At the same time, every person will not turn into a robot. On the contrary, they will begin to perceive the entire single organism as their own, and through this they will discover eternal and perfect nature.

To Save Euro, The Crisis Has To Get Worse

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Anatole Kaletsky, one of the leading commentators on economics, formerly Economics Editor and now Editor-at-large of The Times): “There are two possible solutions for the Greek crisis: The first solution would be for Greece to default on its debts and leave the euro…. The second would be for the EU to accept collective responsibility for roughly half of Athens’ debts….

This second solution is much more likely, because a break-up of the euro is unacceptable to the German and French governments – and a break-up would surely follow a sudden Greek default. If Greece found itself unable to borrow in euros and devalued its citizens’ savings into a new currency, the Irish would fear similar treatment and immediately transfer their savings to German banks, destroying Ireland’s banks and forcing it to exit the euro. That capital flight, in turn, would pose a mortal danger to the membership of Portugal, Spain, Italy, Belgium and even France.

In the end, the creditworthy euro members will have to accept collective responsibility for about 500 billion ($681bn) of Greek, Irish, and Portuguese debts if they want to ensure the single currency’s survival…”

But egoism stands in the way: “The creditor countries do not want to accept an additional euro-federal debt burden, while the debtor countries are even more resistant to the loss of national sovereignty and democratic self-determination…. The implication is that both the creditor and the debtor countries will resist the only possible solution to the euro crisis until they have exhausted every possible alternative.

Ironically, therefore, a continuous threat of crisis is the necessary condition for even temporary financial stability in Europe. As for the “quantum leap” to fiscal federalism that Trichet has rightly identified as the key to the crisis, the logical requirement for this to happen is that the crisis must get even worse.

European leaders hope, by contrast, that the crisis can be resolved gradually, avoiding the need for radical measures, because conditions will improve through the passage of time…. There are, however, two much more powerful ways in which time works against the euro’s survival.” The debtor countries are aware of their strength: Germany, France, and the EU are willing to pay anything, just to appease Greece or Ireland, if they threaten to default.

“If Europe’s politicians genuinely want to save the euro, they must make the quantum leap to a fiscal federation – and do it soon.”

My Comment: These schemes appear very simple if we translate everything that happens into the two forces: the egoistic forces of people, countries, and the world and the altruistic force of the Creator or Nature. They are in conflict, and Nature patiently teaches people the irreversibility of the development process and the necessity to make mutual concessions and come to an agreement, unity, mutual guarantee, and love.

Thus, two camps, the weak and the strong, teach each other concessions, demonstrate how much they need each other—to the point when they realize the necessity to unite fully, above all their differences. Nature will force them to do it!

The Eurozone Will Fall Apart In Two Years

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (Centre for Economics and Business Research (CERB)): “New forecasts released today mean that it is almost certain that the Eurozone will break up within the next five years and probably by 2013.

The combination of austerity packages, exports held back by the overall value of the euro and the structural impact of low tech exports facing massive competition from East Asia means that the prospects for growth for Southern Europe in the Eurozone are bleak.”

My Comment: So the EU is not a community, but a bazaar, a farce, so to speak, but not a commonwealth. Although the EU is no more than a union of egoists, built to strengthen itself against the whole world, its collapse will lead to the degradation of the member states because any estrangement is against the forces of nature.

It will be similar to Ancient Babylon, which ceased to exist during the division of society into separate parts at the time of Abraham and Nimrod 3700 years ago.

Finishing Abraham’s Business

Dr. Michael LaitmanToday we are completing what Abraham had started when he taught the sons of his concubines different spiritual practices which precede the actual spiritual work for the sake of bestowal. He instilled in them the foundations of belief systems and sent them off to eastern lands. Later, the same work of Abraham has materialized through the people of Israel who, after the destruction of the Temple, fell from the spiritual level and gave rise to religions thereby.

Thus the beliefs, which originated in the times of Abraham, and religions, which came about in the times of the destruction of the Temple, essentially represent stages of the inclusion of the method of Israel into the nations of the world. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam among others have been advancing humanity towards the understanding of Godliness. People would have remained complete barbarians without them.

In our time, after thousands of years of evolution, it is hard for us to imagine a person who does not ponder at all about this and the future worlds, the Creator, or good and evil. If there were no religions, we would not have culture, education, and a human society in its modern understanding.

We simply are not aware of the role that religions have played in advancing humanity. Universities have appeared due to religions. In the desire to spread religions, people have discovered new continents, settled new lands, and aspired towards something in the future.

This way, the spiritual message became part of the egoism of our world and it has reached people who had no connection with the Creator and no desire for Him for the lack of the point in the heart. However, now they have a certain impulse, belonging, and fear before the future world, a possible punishment, and something above this life.

They have a feeling of something greater and foresee certain things. And even though corporeal images appear in their imagination, even though this is idolatry, still, something close to a human is beginning to grow out of a “higher animal.” They already think about things that animals do not care for.

Previously, people did not think beyond a closed cycle of income, food, reproduction, and death. We simply are not aware of the contribution of religion into human culture and art.

However, today our development is coming to an end, and the global crisis, grasping the entire humanity, is the sign of it. Religion is not the problem: We simply can no longer keep sustaining an egoistic society that lives according to the laws of self-love.

Our egoism has brought us to its spiritual component. Money has become a “spiritual value” for people and forced them to blow unthinkable bubbles in the economy by selling air to one another in the form of virtual businesses.

This has brought us to the need for a change. We are facing real spiritual work for the sake of bestowal.

We Do Not Have Another Planet

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Harald Schumann, one of the chief German experts in the field of globalization, an interview with bfm.ru): To continue to live the way we live now, we need two planets. So, something will definitely change in our world, whether we like it or not. The only question is whether we dare change voluntarily or when we are shaken, when wars and conflicts begin, when we have to act in a great hurry.

My Comment: This is what Kabbalah says as well: You better take advantage of the knowledge offered to you and change towards similarity with Nature or the Creator yourselves, rather than being forced in great suffering. Is the entire humanity like a silly stubborn child?!

The Light Revolution

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Is it possible to explain the Kabbalistic method using terms of modern science?

Answer: Can you explain the mathematical Fourier transform to a cow? These are different degrees. A person who does not have a “sixth sense,” a point in the heart, cannot understand what you are talking about. He does not have a need for this, and therefore, it’s pointless to talk to him. Therefore, in our wide dissemination, we have to conform to the desires of the masses rather than of those who study Kabbalah.

Throughout all the generations, the world did not understand Kabbalists. And the world is right: From their degree people are not capable of this yet. It says in the Psalms, “You save humans and animals…”—but when? Today you cannot explain to people about the altruistic intention Lishma. It’s even difficult to talk to them about the topic of the perception of reality. This is intriguing and provocative, but they don’t understand or grasp the essence because they simply can’t.

In order for a person to really be able to hear words about the correction of his desires, he needs one more level of desire. But until then, we can only accelerate his development using external means. One way or another, as long as he doesn’t feel the sting in his heart, he won’t understand your explanations.

That is how the world is built. People are on different levels of development, and even at the end of correction the still, vegetative, animate, and human levels will remain. Yet it is written, “Everyone will know Me from the smallest of them to the greatest of them,” meaning each person according to his level.

The time will come when we will see how people will start grasping our words: some through scientific terms, others in the language of feeling, and others yet by virtue of simple actions, which are enough for a person to join the unity. Some need to attain and feel the adhesion, to actively participate in it, whereas for others this is unnecessary. Everything is determined by one’s desire.

We shouldn’t suppose that everyone will receive the same degree of desire for bestowal and the Creator’s revelation. However, every person will receive the full measure in accordance with his own vessels, and will be filled thanks to the common inter-inclusion.

That is why to this day Kabbalists concealed their knowledge. But now this knowledge can be revealed, although every person will hear just an insignificant part of it. Nevertheless, as a whole the Light is already starting to operate in a big mass of the common desire. This is the revolution that is happening in the world today. The modern crisis is essentially the inter-inclusion of desires.

The Collapse Of Globalization

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Chris Hedges, “The Collapse of Globalization“): The crisis signifies the collapse of globalization. “We must embrace, and embrace rapidly, a radical new ethic of simplicity and rigorous protection of our ecosystem—especially the climate—or we will all be holding on to life by our fingertips. We must rebuild radical socialist movements that demand that the resources of the state and the nation provide for the welfare of all citizens and the heavy hand of state power be employed to prohibit the plunder by the corporate power elite. We must view the corporate capitalists who have seized control of our money, our food, our energy, our education, our press, our health care system and our governance as mortal enemies to be vanquished.”

Hedges criticizes the media and celebrities for advertizing an ego-centric way of life, calling it “self-promotion” (‘the cult of the self).” He claims that ” until we awake from our collective self-delusion, until we carry out sustained acts of civil disobedience against the corporate state…we will continue to be rocketed toward a global catastrophe.”

My comment: The author, lacking the insight to see that Nature has its own laws and there is no movement backwards, urges moving backwards—this is death. Instead, we must understand the principles of our evolution and clarify what we can change in this movement. And this is where we should direct all our efforts towards.
