150 mass shootings in the U.S. in just 151 days since the start of 2019.

Until we cure the breeding of violence in American culture, don’t expect these events to go away.

These tragic scenarios repeat themselves over and over in most aspects of how and where they unfold. Clearly, the U.S. must set up a dedicated think tank to research and investigate why mass shootings have become an epidemic in American society.

Understandably, each time there is a mass shooting the gun control debate comes alive again, yet it doesn’t reflect the root cause of this epidemic. When individuals have set their minds on killing others, they will find a way to do it even with tougher gun laws. Typically, mass shooters don’t carry out their act of violence in a moment of insanity. They rather plan it meticulously to maximize their impact.

Also, it’s difficult to envision how America would round up some 400 million guns that are currently scattered throughout society. Not to mention that there will always be a black market for weapons.

America needs to focus on preventive actions that are beyond adding security officers and cameras in public spaces. A real solution must involve launching a massive nationwide educational program that would require the cooperation of all major institutions, from Hollywood studios, through academic institutions, to government offices, and everything in between.

The amount and frequency of mass shootings is causing Americans to become increasingly desensitized with every event that happens. Only if America would be able to rally everyone around the effort to heal a culture that breeds violence—we can expect to see real impact.

Between the 9th and 13th centuries, during the thriving of the Jewish Diaspora, Spanish Jewry was at its peak. This was not a positive phenomenon – it is the “Golden Age” of separation. The Jews assimilate into the European society that is moving away from the values of mutual guarantee that constitute the foundation of the people.

After 500 years of prosperity in Spain, a deportation order was signed ordering Jews to leave Spain. The Jews were shocked. But one good thing resulted from the expulsion: the Jews finally gathered in Israel and the method of connection was discovered in the world.

Over the weekend, while Israel and European countries were glued to the Eurovision contest, I was on the other side of the globe – in Monterrey, Mexico. My students and friends from all over the Latin continent gathered in this special region for the World Kabbalah Convention.

Together we learned how to connect above our differences, and the connection was felt everywhere. Many more students and friends from around the world connected virtually, and the density of connected hearts was so powerful that it became truly spiritual. The warm and vibrant nature of Latin America never slowed down as we dined, sang and danced together. I can only praise all the students and give them douze points for unity!

Consider some striking similarities between pre-Holocaust Europe and today’s world: on one hand, social division becomes felt more rampantly, Nazi, fascist and other extremist views gain popularity, and also anti-Semitic pressure increasingly mounts on the Jews. On the other hand, there is still time for the Jews to take a step toward fixing the problem in a positive light.

What’s the difference between anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism? Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman explains that there is a difference, even though the basis is the same.

Since Jews bear inside them the method for the world’s correction, and the more the world deteriorates, the more necessary this method becomes, the world starts needing this method more and more. There is a certain subconscious feeling that this method exists in the Jewish people, and therefore there is hatred toward the Jewish people because they prevent the world from having a good future. What exactly is the good future and what exactly should the Jews do? They don’t know.

Nature, however, is giving everyone besides Jews a feeling that the Jews have something that they’re not giving the world, and therefore, the world is suffering.

Usually, during the 2,000 years of exile, it was directed at the Jewish people in a more or less revealed way, and nowadays, after the establishment of the Jewish State, the State of Israel, then a part of anti-Semitism has become anti-Israelism, which is against the State itself.

Therefore, anti-Semitism has several faces. There are some who feel more anti-Semitic, and others who feel more anti-Israeli, but both stem from the same root, and undoubtedly, there is something about the Jewish people that they have to give the world. Jews themselves don’t know what it is, besides the Kabbalists among them who bear the method of correction. Therefore, if the Jewish people will reveal this method to humanity, then both anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism will disappear from the world.

Hitler saw that he could unite the people through anti-Semitism, and that he gained a lot of support through his anti-Semitic actions, and these were the stepping stones to Hitler’s becoming an anti-Semite.

Countries such as France, England and Poland, who were hostile to him and who he couldn’t conquer yet, agreed with him on his anti-Semitic stance, and thus he used anti-Semitism to rise above the people, unite the people, and to take the wealth of the Jews. He also publicized his actions against the Jews as much as possible, because he saw that the people agreed with and encouraged his anti-Semitic actions. Eventually, he became a true anti-Semite, even though he wasn’t one to begin with. When he started rising to power in Nazi Germany, there were even many Jews and the fathers of Zionism who supported him. In short, in terms of whether Hitler was an anti-Semite, he wasn’t one in the biological sense, where he felt a natural hatred of Jews from within. He became one as he saw that it garnered him a lot of support.
