Once again the Startup Nation delivers the breakthrough, this time in the form of the human heart. Researchers from Tel Aviv University have demonstrated how to take human tissues and use them to print a 3D living, beating heart. Within a decade, they estimate, we’ll start saying goodbye to organ transplants altogether.
I remember the world’s first heart transplant that took place in 1967 in South Africa and made waves around the world. People were shocked and baffled by the idea that their heart could be replaced with someone else’s. And it brought up all sorts of questions such as whether a heart transplant changes a person’s feelings and personality traits.
That was in the middle of the 20th century, which just goes to show how clueless and primitive we are in our thinking, when it comes to understanding the difference between the body and the higher essence of the human being.
It’s hard for us to let go of the thought that our essence is somehow connected to our body. However, our technology is ushering us into a world where all of our organs can be printed, cloned and replaced and the medical world will be largely dominated by robots and artificial intelligence instead of human doctors.
This revolution in the medical world will help us see that we are more than what our bodies are. From that point, it will be easier for us to recognize that the true essence of the human does not reside in the body.
The wisdom of Kabbalah explains that the deeper essence of the human is a spiritual spark that exists in a reality beyond time and space, and our next phase of development is about finding it. Thus, realizing that it’s not in our body is a step forward for mankind.
When we wonder about our higher purpose, we should first realize that our technological progress can only extend our toolset and improve our lives on the physical level of existence.
Kabbalists throughout the centuries have continuously worked to develop the spiritual technology that we can harness to rise to a truly higher level of existence where we’re all connected above our bodies, and realize our unique spiritual potential. This is where we discover the purpose of our life and how it’s connected to the force that guides the whole of reality. If you will, Kabbalah can teach us how to operate the spiritual printer that can print the human soul.

“We started something and we need to finish it. We’ll put our flag on the moon,” said SpaceIL chairman Morris Kahn in an interview after Israel’s spacecraft Beresheet failed to land on the moon and become the fourth country in the world to achieve this goal. But we do not need to wait for an astronomical achievement to transcend as a nation. This Passover can be an opportunity to exit our divisive world and enter a higher dimension of unity and harmony, cutting the abysmal space between us.
The Jewish people and the whole world watched with expectation and excitement as Israel attempted to make history. Even though the landing failed, the space mission drew us closer together for a moment. This is exactly the deepest meaning of Passover. The holiday symbolizes our exodus from Egypt—our self-destructive egoism that crashes everything around us—to the building of one people with one heart, a state of mutual solidarity where everyone finds peace and fulfillment.
Reaching that ultimate goal does not occur in a blink of an eye. It is the result of an inner process where a period of intensifying division leads to a decision to unite, followed by the discovery of a more unified state. Indeed, Passover signifies a transition from the feeling of our world—an earthly, limited state inherent to every person on this planet—to the feeling of the upper world, an eternal and balanced state.
During this holiday, a new space opens up in us. Our hearts are a vast space, and we must fill that space with connection and love. So before we connect around a space mission, we will best contribute to humanity by connecting our hearts. By doing so, we would spread such a positive connection to wider circles of humanity.
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the Jewish nation must set an example for all the nations, to draw them together by virtue of our connection. For the time being, we lag behind the maturity of being a united nation that we have to demonstrate. How many people really help one another unconditionally? Who feels “love your neighbor as yourself” more than a slogan?
Without working steadily on the unity between us, the human ego will trample every part of creation. The division that it will awaken will encourage us to rule over the other with great pride, creating even further separation.
Therefore, the recognition that it’s necessary to exit our egoism, and the realization that we cannot do it on our own, produce an inner outcry to the upper force of love and bestowal to come and unite us above our divisions. Such a moment of desperation is when salvation from egoism comes and we are able to exit Egypt.
We need to activate the force that lets us unite. The connection between us evokes a tremendous positive force. Nature itself works in unity, in integrality, in mutual consideration, and if we learn how to acquire those qualities, even slightly, we would discover that we could go much further than the moon: we would discover a whole new harmonious universe that would open up to us through the common unity of the Jewish people and humanity.

I am happy to announce that after many years in the works we have all my teacher’s (RABASH, Rav Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag) articles published in one set of books in English.
These books disclose the profound knowledge of human nature that the RABASH possessed, and take us on a journey of exploration of our souls. As we absorb the texts, we find that Kabbalah is not some cryptic occultism, but a time-tested method to understand ourselves and improve our lives and the world around us.

The outbreak of Measles provides another justification for the inherent hatred towards Jews; a way to rationalize anti-Semitic sentiments.
Even in the Middle Ages Jews were blamed for spreading diseases, but the claim was opposite: Since bathing regularly wasn’t common, the Jews, who bathed at least once a week for religious reasons, were more protected from diseases. Their weekly cleaning disinfected their bodies. But the public at the time ignored that, and fabricated false theories that the Jews themselves were spreading the disease to hurt the rest of the public. As then, so now, an inexplicable and irrational feeling is constantly searching for logical reasons to blame and hate the Jews.
Hatred of Jews never goes away; it only takes on different shapes and forms throughout history. Jews were deemed responsible for the death of Jesus, but also for inventing Christianity. They’ve been labeled warmongers, as well as cowards. Communists accused them of creating capitalism, capitalists accused them of creating communism. They were hated for being arrogant, but also treated as an inferior race. They’re blamed for being racists who seclude themselves from society, and on the other hand, they are deemed rootless cosmopolitans who push for a globalist agenda.
The justifications change, but the same emotion remains. As Kabbalist Baal HaSulam writes: “The fact is that Israel is hated by all nations, whether for religion, race, capitalism, communism, cosmopolitanism etc. Hatred precedes all reasons, and each one merely resolves his hatred according to their own psychology.”
In the heart of the world, there is a demand for an explanation, a sense that Jews are holding some secret key, some cure for all illnesses, and for some reason they are not sharing it.
Also, looking at history, we find that Jews contributed significantly to medicine – such as Haffkine who developed vaccines against cholera and dabber, and did much to improve health conditions in the world. But that will never satisfy the nations of the world. They are thirsty for the real medicine in the hands of the Jewish people: the power to bring humanity together, the light for all nations.

$2 million is the amount allocated by the U.S. State Department for two projects to combat the growing anti-Semitism in Europe and Central Asia.
This proposal itself highlights the problem with the approach to anti-Semitism. The premise is wrong. We are trying to fight anti-Semitism instead of understanding the reasons for it. We are looking for ways to silence the hatred, rather than understanding where it emanates from and thus alleviate the problem.
Anti-Semitic incidents are like a messenger carrying a message: The relentless negative sentiments toward the Jewish people demand a deep and satisfactory explanation. Without it, the hatred will continue to bubble under the surface, and erupt on the face of it.
Instead of “killing the messenger,” we should invite him to a discussion about the source of the hatred and the solution for it. Instead of trying to blur the phenomenon, we must agree that it’s there and it needs to be understood.
The ancient wisdom of Kabbalah, which is being revealed nowadays, provides a systematic, comprehensive explanation for the phenomenon of anti-Semitism. An explanation that binds together the development of humanity from the dawn of civilization, human nature and the psychology that operates it, the birth of the Jewish people and the nature of its relationship with the rest the nations. Simply knowing the explanation will cause an immediate alleviation of anti-Semitism, since “a disease known is half cured.”
And here is the explanation in brief: According to Kabbalah, humanity reached a unique turning point about 3,800 years ago in ancient Mesopotamia, as human nature evolved to a new level. After thousands of years where human beings had an instinctive connection to each other and to nature, humans began to develop their sense of self. In Kabbalah, this is referred to as “the evolution of the human ego.”
As a result of the growth of the ego, human beings became more individualistic and egocentric, society became more complex, and human existence required the formation of deeper and stronger connections between people.
Abraham, who is known to this day as the common ancestor of the three major religions, had discovered the dynamics of human evolution: Nature continually increases the human ego, thereby allowing humans to form a more conscious connection, above the growing ego. This is how nature advances the human species to become a more conscious, more intelligent, more advanced form of life. In other words, nature increases the ego – and human beings are driven to increase their connection.
Abraham gathered around him representatives from the various groups and clans who lived in ancient Babylon, and built them into a group capable of enhancing human connection over the growing ego. The group abandons the Babylonian kingdom, grows to the scale of a nation, and acquires the name “Am Yisrael“. From that point onward, the Jewish people and the other nations separate and continue to evolve on two parallel axes.
For some 1,500 years the Jewish people lived according to the Abrahamic principles, until human egoism grew to a new level in humanity as a whole. At this stage, the Jewish people lose the special bond that binds them together, and begin to scatter and roam the world. In other words, the Jews lose contact with the system of connection that has accompanied them since they were founded as a people.
In the last two millennia, humanity has evolved through various forms of social regimes, trade and commerce, science, education and culture, all the while becoming interdependent across the globe. And in the last century, the human ego has reached its final peak, and is now leading human society towards an unprecedented global crisis: the family unit is disintegrating, the pubic loses trust in all forms of government, economic inequality reaches new levels while technological unemployment is around the corner, nuclear and climate threats are rising, drug addiction and depression rates are soaring, and the list goes on.
All the above are pushing humanity to rearrange itself around the planet, which in fact requires a new level of human connection. And the way to do it is the same as that which took place in ancient Babylon. The method for increasing human connection lies within the Jewish people who are scattered throughout the world, and this is why the Jews evoke a unique and negative sentiment throughout thousands of years of their existence.
Both Jews and anti-Semites do not recognize the natural dynamic that activates them. This is why this explanation is so vital. Only the understanding and awareness of these natural foundations can serve as a basis for solving the problem of anti-Semitism. As soon as the explanation permeates the public discourse, the anti-Semitic flames will subside.
The U.S. State Department’s $2 million would be helpful if it would be put toward spreading the explanation for the root cause of anti-Semitism, to Jews and non-Jews alike.

Animals never make mistakes, because nature operates them perfectly. Yet people go wrong all the time.
In the 21st century, we have reached an absurd state where our existence on this planet can come to an end with the push of a button. And even at the individual level, many live like modern-day slaves, spending hours on end working, commuting, and being busy and tense all the time. It’s only natural that antidepressant prescriptions are skyrocketing.
Unlike human society where chaos seems to be prevalent, the more we delve into nature, the more we reveal a wondrous wisdom. Every element and every being appear to be harmoniously connected to each other. Nothing exists in isolation. Every life form contributes to the rest of the system.
So why does nature seem to fail when it comes to us, humans? Are we some sort of a bug in nature’s operating system?
The answer is no. Rather, Kabbalah explains that we lack the ability to see the bigger picture. All our problems, our challenges and our suffering are continuously orchestrated to develop us as human beings. The chaos we see around us is designed for us to finally ask: What’s going on? Where are we headed? What is our purpose here?
To get answers, however, we will have to rise to a higher level of human experience, to the next level of human evolution.
Look at what we have accomplished so far. We have developed a sophisticated virtual network that connects us across the globe, through our computers and smartphones. Everything is connected in today’s global village, except our hearts. We have yet to build the next level of human connection. Mankind is due for a system upgrade.
Our time demonstrates a growing clash between the connected nature of the world, and the self-centered nature of man. Simply put, we are misguided by our individual egos, pushing us to exploit each other and everything else for personal gain.
It’s as though mankind is stuck with an old operating system. Our egoistic society rewards mutual exploitation, encouraging everyone to be out there for himself, alone against the world. Ironically, our sophisticated means of communication only further highlight how emotionally separate from each other we’ve become.
So how do we upgrade our awareness to suit nature’s operating system? To succeed, we need an upgrade guide, written by top-notch developers, well versed in nature’s code. This is precisely what the authentic wisdom of Kabbalah provides.
For millennia, Kabbalah was practiced by a small group. However, it was intended to become revealed to all in a time when the need to upgrade human nature will present itself. And that time is now.
Once we go through the upgrade, a whole new level of life awaits us, where each of us is inherently connected to the whole of humanity; where everyone wants to benefit everyone else; where we discover the true meaning behind the concept of “love thy neighbor as thyself.”
Loving your neighbor as yourself, is not about ethics, mannerisms, or even acts of kindness. These are just potential side effects. “Love thy neighbor” means an expansion of human emotion and perception that puts us in contact with the loving force of nature itself. The underlying force that guides nature’s operating system. This revelation fills us with divine pleasures from a higher level of awareness, and we discover that it was all designed for us right from the beginning.

My teacher, Rav Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag (The Rabash), was unique in his generation; a hidden Kabbalist whose only goal was to educate a new generation of Kabbalists by developing a spiritual method that would suit every person in our generation. I followed him wherever he went and aided him in every way I could.
Upon his passing in 1991, I continued my teacher’s unique path. I established a group of Kabbalists, and named it after him – “Bnei Baruch” (the sons of Baruch). Over the years Bnei Baruch has become an international movement made up of hundreds of thousands of students in Israel and around the world, who study the authentic sources of Kabbalah and share it with the world.
By implementing the Rabash’s method, we can discover the complete, eternal reality that has been revealed to Kabbalists of all generations.

The wave of incitement against Jews has moved from Europe to Islamic centers in the U.S., according to a special research conducted by investigative journalist Zvi Yehezkeli for Israel’s channel 13.
Anti-Semitism fueled by radical Islam is alive and kicking in America. On the streets, they speak English and sound welcoming to all. In the mosques, they encrypt their anti-Semitic agenda in Arabic.
Even when this is happening so close to them, it’s still very difficult for American Jews to realize that their calm and peaceful life is being threatened, and things will only get worse. It is especially difficult for the younger generation of American Jews to grasp.
There is no doubt that many moves will be decided after the election of the next U.S. president. However, it is also a mistake to think that the State of Israel will be their place of refuge, since no one can promise us that the situation will be better for Israel.
If we Jews do not rekindle the same kind of connection that has established our nationhood, and has been dormant for some 2,000 years, anti-Semitism will never stop.
