“There is none else beside Him” is the main and most important topic in the wisdom of Kabbalah and in the life of a person in general. First of all, it is the foundation for our entire outlook on life and the perception of reality since everything is derived from one force. It is up to us to know how to relate to what He portrays within us, how He has constructed us to feel as if we exist within bodies in an external reality, and how desires and thoughts are awakened in us at every moment so it seems to us that we exist and reality surrounds us.
But all in all this is an imaginary portrayal that doesn’t really exist; it only seems that way to us. Through the right attitude towards reality and ourselves, through everything that we feel within our senses, can we reach a true perception of the higher power. We discover that He exists and He actually determines and molds everything for us.
“There is none else beside Him,” means that everything that I feel comes from this Higher Power, which portrays this picture for me. It is up to me to relate to the entire reality that comes from Him.
I forget this at every moment, and at every moment is a new way to perceive a new reality as if I exist and the environment exists by itself, not derived from any outside source.
At every moment I must concentrate my perception, my inner sight, my inner feeling and thought, that in the end, all of this arises as a result of the influence of the upper force on me. There exists a particular point in me and this force portrays all the rest for me. Within that point I feel myself, and the world in which everything is turning and transforming.
I must say that everything that I feel as a disturbance that diverts me from the right perception comes from the Creator and “There is none else beside Him.” Only He creates this reality and confuses me at every moment. It is up to me to say that all of this is for my own good. Which is to say, all of the disturbances, the confusion, the disappointments, all of the pleasant and unpleasant things, everything that attracts or repels, everything that passes my way, He organizes for me very precisely so that according to all of these disturbances I will direct myself at every moment to the only source that arouses everything within me.
In this war between me and the Creator (who is always confusing me), I begin to relate to the world as if it exists on its own, for the various people who influence me and awaken various impressions in me and also that I am constantly changing myself. In all of this, it is up to me to see only Him.
In this way I clarify all of the Reshimot (remembrances), meaning the entire great performance that they display in front of me and in which I participate. If I persist, clarifying as successfully as possible, I seem to advance. But that is not true; I don’t advance that way.
It is logical that if I relate to the Creator like this, then I am found in a conflict, in opposition to Him; we are found one against the other. And this attitude is incorrect. After all, the Creator organized all of these states for me so that I would be constantly directed towards Him. I will err, I will be confused, and I won’t succeed in remaining directed towards Him and feeling that all of this imaginary reality exists on some screen between Him and me on which He portrays the world for me.
If a person constantly wants to locate the Creator behind this entire picture, he reaches absolute despair because he is unable to hold on to this. This despair is most helpful, targeted from the Creator. After all, the person then begins to feel that he needs help from above, because he is not able to be connected to that source, to that single cause that builds for him the reality around him at every moment. And so he breaks out with a request, with a prayer, with a cry, with resentment that he is constantly yearning to be in connection with the source, with the cause, with the Creator, for this escapes him. A request is formed in him, a correct demand that the Creator help him. It means that he stops the game, the competition against the Creator, whereas the Creator had given the person a perception of the world so that he will feel himself. And the person feels that this is the reality. He relates to it without connection to the cause that constructs it, which is the upper force. The person sees that he is detached from the Creator all the time and is found in a performance, in a picture of an imaginary reality.
If the person’s request approaches being an inner demand again and again, he begins to feel that he is having a dialogue with the Creator about reality, faced by disturbances, which he no longer sees as disturbances but help. Through this he builds himself so that he can understand and feel the Creator. He begins to learn the language, how the Creator is turning towards him through all of this reality and how he attributes all of this reality to the Creator and knows how to answer Him.
And then, from his complaint, his suit against the Creator, he reaches thanks. He begins to understand that this is how the Creator is developing, growing, and educating him. He is teaching him to understand the higher language, which doesn’t come through words or letters but through the surrounding world.
The whole world, all of the person’s feelings about himself and the world, all of his perception becomes a very rich language; for the entire world is showing the person how the Creator relates to him and how the person relates to the Creator in response.
The world becomes a screen on which, through various forms, colors, sounds, through all the distinctions in the perception of the world, the person begins to identify a very unique and hidden code. As a result of this he begins to feel and understand the Creator.
Instead of the claims against the Creator that he has no control over the world and he cannot identify the source, the upper force, the unique cause, he begins to thank the Creator for everything that happens. About this it is said, “The entire world is worthwhile for him.” That is how the person advances.
The question that begins to be clarified is, “Why did the Creator make all of this?” To the degree that the person is ready to thank the Creator, to identify with Him, to be detached from himself, as if he didn’t exist at all, but he is ready to penetrate into the picture that the Creator presents to him and to identify with the upper force, he truly begins to feel by way of this language, which is the whole world, that he is adhered to the Creator and advances together with him by means of those same steps, the changes, the colored forms, the sounds, the feelings, and the thoughts.
The person identifies with the Creator and changes himself so much that he begins to advance together with the Creator with the same movement. And not only does he receive impressions from the Creator, but he tries to react, to adhere to that form, to that world, and to that picture. He doesn’t go after the Creator like a little child, but both of them begin to work with the same form, at the same rate. And then this world disappears.
For the world is a result of the difference between the influence of the Creator on the person and the reaction of the person in regard to that. But if they begin to be alike, to move at the same rate, with every step and with every stride without any difference between the deed that the Creator initiates and the deed that the person finishes, but everything happens together, then the form of the world, the picture of the world, disappears (“Olam” [world] from the word “Halam” [hidden]). Then the person and the Creator connect. This state is called “adhesion.” That is what we must reach.

If a person doesn’t feel that everything that happens inside him and in all of reality comes from the Creator who is the only source of life, it is called punishment, although the feeling of detachment itself also comes from the Creator and isn’t the person’s will. There is no greater punishment than being detached from the Creator, which means to forget that everything comes from Above, from Him.
A person should continuously renew his contact with the Creator, consider his thoughts, and decide how to answer every appeal that comes from Him. What happens to me makes no difference. What’s important is that everything comes from Him: both the negative and positive thoughts. At one time I bless Him and another time I curse Him; at one time I want to remember that He is everywhere and another time I don’t want to remember that He exists, but I yearn for physical corporeal pleasures.
But He sends all that, and we should examine all these situations, which are mostly unpleasant. It is because the Creator shows me to what extent I am immersed in my shallow lowly ego, while I have to find the right answer and to understand why the Creator sends me such desires and thoughts and why I want to respond the way I do and not the way I should.
If I work that way, I begin to feel that I need support and that it is impossible to manage by myself. I can escape the group and manage by myself only in my corporeal life by hiding from the Creator and without feeling guilty in any way, but if I really want to advance, I immediately feel that I must clarify my relations with Him.
There is no one in the world I settle my accounts with but Him because He is the only source. Therefore, I feel that I have to be in a group, connected to the teacher, and that I need support.
In that case I already tighten the connection with the friends and with the teacher and begin to listen. It is because I need advice as to what to do in order to be constantly connected to the Creator and to not forget about Him, to properly see that every moment in my life comes from Him. I must remember that even my trivial thoughts and my corporeal desires come from Him. Everything comes from Him in order to push me to even greater adhesion to Him, to closeness.
This is what my response should be. It means that we speak the same language. He sends me different signals, and I respond to them: “I understand and I tune myself more and more to You.”
Thus I get closer to the Creator and perceive Him in greater and more accurate resolution. I begin to learn His language. There are many languages in the world, which don’t allow us to understand one another. Here I learn the Creator’s language: how he turns to me and how I should answer Him.
If a person and the group focus themselves that way, they succeed very quickly and attain contact with the Creator since He begins to teach us every moment in our life.

In spiritual work we proceed in the right line, which is towards bestowal, approach, and unification. And everything against this that is awakened in us is what we need to correct. Only this! All the rest is done intentionally and isn’t subject to any correction. We get all kinds of disturbances so that we will choose what we need more clearly. This is so that we will begin to choose from the general providence, which isn’t subject to any correction or individual, personal attainment of the Creator. This is specifically where following our efforts, we are shown how much we are not ready to do this.
Why? So that we will require help from above.
The forces that are awakened specifically in this place of unity and push us away from each other are an expression of the shattered Kli.
Specifically, we must not miss these desires and characteristics. The moment that this snake reveals himself inside, you should immediately grab him, constantly choke him and not let go. It seems to you that you have strangled him, you breathe easily and can then embrace him. But after a moment, he wakes up again. This happens even within a second, and there is no interruption! And this is good. We must constantly make starting and stopping movements like these.
The recognition of evil is the first stage and is very difficult. On every level it will be more and more acute and will require a more precise, conscious, emotional, and analytical intention. “Why is this feeling awakened, for what purpose, or is this just rejection? Why this? What for? What does the Creator want to tell me?”
I begin to associate the recognition of evil with the Creator, “He deliberately tripped me up.”
When we give a child something to do, understandably he tries to do it because instinct is pushing him towards this. And we are led forward, not by instinct, but by feeling the environment. The group holds me, obligates and directs me. There is tension in the air all the time and a need for constant methodical work until the completion of correction.
The group must constantly push me, and we all do this for one another. After all, the group is not a team of external employees. The group is what we organize and hold and the reason why we obligate ourselves. And each one of us, when he feels pressure and resistance from within, must feel that the group is holding him and won’t let him relax or go beyond its limits. This situation must be constant.
Clearly, new outbreaks of ego, anger, rejection, and trouble will be awakened. And the group must awaken in us an increasingly sophisticated sense of responsibility and the need to work specifically on the new sensations that are awakened in us. This is so that nobody will flee or try to justify himself and say “All of this is nonsense. I don’t want it and it doesn’t interest me anymore.”
These disturbances are very sophisticated, but it is precisely through this sophistication that we begin to be aware of the Creator. It is specifically in this way that I learn about Him. Just as in life when we live with someone, we begin to understand him through all kinds of good and bad relationships in our mutual dance. It is the same thing here. We have no other way of becoming aware of the Creator.
In these states, we have to go through a particular amount of necessary mutual movements. The Creator shows me negative characteristics, I try to overcome them, He shows more, and again I overcome.
Like a gilded statue made from plaster covered with gold, so have to cover our desire for pleasure with a desire to give pleasure, meaning to use it in order to bestow. And so all kinds of egoistic, negative desires constantly come to me that are awakened regarding others, and I must cover them and transform them into characteristics of bestowal and love instead of hatred. We advance according to this principle.
After I have learned a bit and have understood how the Creator plays with me, I am ready to be closer to Him. I have passed through the first stage. I am now aware of Him, understand Him, and can somehow resist Him. I have accumulated data and experience and am no longer found on such a level where it was possible to get rid of me, to confuse me with one small blow. I already understand more, I am more self-controlled, I have gathered a group that is appropriate for me, and have surrounded myself with friends, and so forth.
Ultimately, after I have learned some of the characteristics of the Creator, I can be in a more complex interaction with Him, and He then begins to be more revealed before me.
He is revealed to me: “Here I am”, and who are you?” I am negatively and egoistically worse. But I begin to understand that all of these are expressions within me, and from this I begin to understand the opposite positive image by correcting my characteristics, which have already become shared characteristics.

Get Down To Pure Egoism
You help the group when you try to keep the feeling of belonging to the general connection. Someone may fall, but it is his own private fall, while at the same time, you can remain in the same state you attained in the convention.
For example, I don’t feel that I have left the convention. In the days after the convention I have only grown stronger, acquired the experience of the new level that was attained in the convention, and have thus discovered new discernments.
It is because such a state did not previously exist in our reality, in the process of correction, or in today’s world. We have actually begun the correction of the souls! Up until this very moment, everything previous to this time was just preparation. The sin (the shattering of first man), Babylon, the slavery in Egypt, the destruction of the Temples, and the exile were all necessary in order to prepare the desires for correction. Now we begin this correction!
The connection we have attained among us is the first level of correction. It isn’t clear as yet, but we are already on this level. It is like a newborn baby who doesn’t understand but who is already living in this world. I am telling you that you are already in spirituality, but now you have to discover it in practice and actually feel it.
We need to develop our senses. When a baby is born he also doesn’t see or hear anything at first. He doesn’t feel this world, and only after a while does he begin to respond to sounds and light. We also don’t respond at the moment, but we are actually in the spiritual world and now everything depends on how much we want to grow within it.
A baby has a natural instinct to grow. We don’t have it and instead of using natural instincts, we must, on our own, establish our nature and the Creator. It is only thanks to our connection that we stabilize this body by adding more and more to it.
We are constantly being given new desires and attributes and if we don’t process them correctly and don’t attribute them to the general unity, they become a burden in the form of different problems and hardships. Therefore we should try to process them in a very quick and correct manner. Otherwise, we will have to do double the work we do today that we didn’t do yesterday. Everything that wasn’t done the day before yesterday will grow and become three times more work and much more difficult to complete. If we go on this way, we will eventually give up and surrender. Then it will be necessary to start everything anew.
We have to reach a state in which we will not have to hold conventions. We will keep on ascending higher and higher even without them. If we keep the state of connection we have attained, we will not need anything. We will develop within it more and more and begin to feel one another. The daily lesson will be enough for us and we will begin to perceive it on a different level and not through the words that are transmitted through the Internet. All this is very near.

Question: Will whoever comes to the congress find his soul and begin spiritual life?
Answer: He will try to do this. Perhaps, it will be accomplished not at one go, but he certainly will move in the right direction.
Therefore, Kabbalists invite many people from everywhere to their congress in order to unite together. We sing, dance, listen to talks, lectures, hold workshops in circles, and have assemblies of friends (Yeshivat Haverim). Thousands of people gather from all over the world, from the most remote locations, such as Australia, New Zealand, South America, Japan, and China.
Kabbalists gather all these people together and teach them how to connect with each other in accordance with the same method, which was founded by our forefather Abraham.
So, we increase the power of our connection with each convention. Gradually we come to such a connection, which will be enough to reveal our next state, the higher degree, the spiritual world. This is the goal of Kabbalistic conventions.

Question: What is the form of existence of the last generation that lives in order to disseminate?
Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah is a science that is attained through practical experience. Nothing in it can be spelled out in advance.
Even if there were such cases in the past, then they were recorded in any form, on any level: the still, vegetative, animate, or spiritual, and so we can use them.
When we pass through the Machsom (barrier) and feel all of the spiritual states from personal experience, then everything will be clear and known to us in whatever states Malchut is found with Zeir Anpin, which Reshimot (reminiscences) must be brought up and whatever Light we get from this.
We understand the relationships that appear between us, one relative to another. This one is the receiver, the female. The other in relation to the first is the male. And that is how it is mutually. There are no men and women here in regard to physical sexual characteristics.
A spiritual sign is only one of mutual integration: I am within him and he is within me. And who are he and I? We are simply two souls. Male or female, it makes no difference. Contact is contact. All kinds of physical considerations vanish here.
The wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t talk about there being some wondrous city where the Kabbalists gathered together and decided to establish, let’s say, a new society of free Kabbalists. It doesn’t talk about how they connected with each other or on what basis they built their community. There is nothing like this!
There are spiritual laws that are written mostly in the articles of Rabash, although they are found in other sources as well, but infrequently. You should try to adapt to these laws, apply them to yourselves.
We have regulations, and then everything depends on how much I am constantly thinking about how to elevate the importance of spiritual work, how through all of my inner drives I summon movement to the Creator or movement from the Creator to me, and this determines everything that I do.
So all of us must very clear in directing ourselves toward the right connection between us, regardless of age, gender, or seniority in our participation in the world group. Everyone must be identical, completely equal, and felt as another small part of our collective soul.
Accordingly we build all of the individual conditions.

It is written in the article “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee)” that we were chosen out of necessity to be the peculiar people of all the nations, meaning to be a special group, “nation,” which is a connection between people that are connected by mutual guarantee between them, a mutual unity force, mutual help, where they are one complete body. This complete body could be egoistic like the seventy nations of the world. Because each one of the seven Sefirot of Zeir Anpin is composed of the ten private Sefirot that are seventy spiritual roots.
Therefore, when the general vessel broke, seventy egoistic seeds were created, which are scattered in all of humanity. This is the source of the definition of the “seventy nations of the world,” meaning seventy different egoistic tendencies.
In addition there is the “nation of Israel.” When under the influence of the Upper Light there occurs a sorting of all the desires of the nations of the world, then the Light, like a magnet, pulls from the general ego the desires that yearn for the Creator, although they are not corrected for bestowal. They are called Israel (“Yashar – El,” straight to God). And the desires of the seventy nations of the world are directed only towards their ego.
That is how the one general force is divided by the influence of the Light. In the beginning it broke into pieces, then they mixed, are sorted, and then the separation occurs: one part rises upward, this is “the nation of srael,” and the second part remains static, which is “seventy nations of the world.” Actually, they are not nations but rather spiritual forces, which thus stand out in nature, and later gradually are expressed in people.
Many years ago, when the people of ancient Babylon awakened a desire for self-realization, part of the Babylonians started to yearn for the Creator and separated from all the rest. This happened under the influence of Abraham, who was the first to reveal the Creator, the single force of nature that acts in creation.
And the other part of the people didn’t feel it, and from the influence of Abraham they felt the opposite negative inclinations. This is how the nations of the world were scattered all over the whole world only in search of egoistical fulfillment. Therefore, it is said: “we were chosen by necessity to be the ‘chosen’ people from all the nations.” Meaning, we need to justify the intention that exists in us.
Thus, only the people of Israel took upon themselves and entered into mutual guarantee and not the people of the nations of the world, who did not take any part in this, because reality itself obliged them to do so.
That is, the whole of Babylon was divided into two groups. One group is the “nation of Israel” (that yearns directly for the Creator) and the second group the “nations of the world” (that yearn to their ego). Each group developed according to its pattern, later they mixed, and now they meet. From this moment on we enter a special stage in the development of humanity.
But the final correction of the world will be in bringing everyone in the world is united in their desire for the Creator, and the Creator will be revealed to all the people of the world, as the sages wrote: “And the Lord will be King over the land,” and on this day He and His name will be One.” God is the Light, the Creator, and His name is the revelation of the four degrees of the Light “Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey,” black letters on a white background. “He and His name” means that each revelation in our world will be good, whole, and eternal, like the Light itself.
And shall say on that day: “And the land will be filled with knowledge of the Creator, and all nations shall flow unto it.” Knowledge will be revealed on the desires of all the nations and not the nation of Israel, which will only do its role. And thanks to the ego that will be corrected in the nations of the world, a great general knowledge and comprehension of the Creator will be revealed.
But the role of Israel toward the whole world is similar to the role of our forefathers towards the Israeli nation. We need to be teachers to all the nations of the world and help them rise on the same ladder of degrees like us.
And every commandment (correction of our desire) that the people from Israel do in order to bring contentment to the Creator, without any reward and self-love (acts of pure bestowal), serves as a stimulus for the development of all people. After all, we are all connected and transfer the positive virus from us to the whole of humanity… until we tip the scale to the side of merit. We will transfer through us the Surrounding Light to humanity, until it will connect them. Precisely like that the whole Light of the Creator will be revealed in all of creation.
Therefore, we have a serious problem with this personal connection with each other, so that we can form a common desire that is similar to the one Light.
The Light is one, unique, and unified; He created one unique desire and then purposely broke it into small pieces.
And now, by ourselves with the help of the influence of this Light, we need to reach the state when the Light will again make the general desire as it was before—one, unique, and unified.
But we need to request it; when we try to do something in our world, we see that we can’t succeed in it and we must request the Upper Light to help us. This request is called “raising MAN” or a prayer. And if it’s correct, not egoistic, but directed to fulfill this act, then the Light will fulfill it.
