So The World Would Be Created For Me….

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Does my intention depend on the intention of the entire environment and the intention of the environment on my intention?

Answer: Definitely! It says in Shamati #225: One cannot raise oneself above one’s circle. Hence, [if one wishes to advance] one must suck from one’s environment. And one has no other counsel, except through much work and Torah. Therefore, if one chooses for oneself a good environment, one saves time and efforts, since one is drawn according to one’s environment.

This is clear. If I receive energy from the environment—and the fact is that I receive everything in order to ascend from it—then I will ascend only inasmuch as I receive from them. I cannot be above this level.

Question: How can I see my environment as great if I do not see my friends as great?

Answer: Therein lies the entire problem. Who do you consider great? There is no one great in your world. Meaning, the world was not created for you. Then what means will you use to advance? The Creator is concealed. The environment is small. You have no one to advance toward and you are alone in the whole world. That is how you feel.

In principle, everyone feels this way and this is what we have to change.

There Is No Oblivion In Spirituality

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Zohar, Introduction, “The Second Commandment,” Item 203: …Then fear clings to both sides, the side of good and love and the side of harsh Din, and she is included in them. If fear is included on the side of good and love, it is complete love, as it should be. …since there is love only in two sides—GAR and ZAT de Bina—and love is incomplete on either of the two sides unless there is fear in each of them, since there cannot be Hochma without Bina, which is love without fear.

This explains the completion of all of our work: How to attain love in Kelim (or desires) of bestowal and then also in the receiving Kelim. In essence this is already the full correction of creation in Malchut, which unites with Bina so much that it attains Keter, where its bestowal is perfect in all of its Kelim.

Question: What is fear?

Answer: Fear is the first commandment, meaning the first correction we have to go through. It is a person’s worry and fear: Is he able to attain bestowal to the Creator? This is fear: Will I attain this? Am I capable of this? Will I ever desire this? Then a person has work.

As a rule our work is aimed at maintaining what we have attained. Baal HaSulam writes about this in Letter #2 from 1920:

Wisdom only comes with experience. I advise you to awaken inner fear that the love among you might cool down, even though the mind rejects this view of things. You should go through the trouble anyway. If someone has the opportunity to add more love, but he doesn’t do it, this will be deemed a flaw.

It’s similar to how a person gives his friend a great gift. The love for his friend that becomes revealed at the moment of the action in the heart of the gift’s receiver, is not similar to the love that remains in his heart when the action is completed. Day by day it cools down, until it may reach total oblivion to the gift of love. That is why the person who received the gift has to invent tricks so as to look at it with new eyes every day.

Spirituality is built on the fact that we do not forget the inspiration that we have attained and we constantly keep the same inspiration while expanding it more and more.

The Zohar Is Being Revealed For Us

Revelation Comes Only From The Light

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Zohar, Introduction, “The Third Commandment,” Item 204: The six words of “Hear O Israel” are six sides of ZON, and the six sides of ZON must be unified so they unite as one with the six upper sides, which are AVI and YESHSUT. And with them, the desire should be aimed upward, meaning aim the desire and the NRN to be included in them in MAN.

Everything depends on the intention during the study when we expect for the Light that Reforms to come to us from studying The Zohar and to perform these corrections in us.

We do not know how to perform them and we won’t learn it from the text. But under the Light’s influence, we will feel what we have to do, and then we will do it. We won’t find anything out from the study, but only from the Light that influences us by means of the correct study. This has to be clear.

Therefore, the intention has to be aimed at the Light rather than the knowledge because it won’t help me in the slightest to know what result will come from the merging of the Partzufim Aba and Ima in one way or another. This won’t give me anything, and besides there is no truth to these words. When the revelation comes, then we reveal things that we could not know anything about beforehand. Everything happens only by virtue of the Light.

Therefore, a person must constantly expect actions that the Light will perform inside of him so the new sensations, thoughts, and inner definitions will become revealed in him from the inside. This will be the result of the influence of the Light that Reforms. Then a person will attain.

Don’t Lose The Time You Have Been Given

Dr. Michael LaitmanHumanity has no choice: It will have to reveal its breaking and the need to connect. Back in the 30s Baal HaSulam warned that a catastrophe was approaching, but no one listened to him. I do not want to scare anyone with any prophecies, but we see what kind of state the world is in.

For now we are given time to seriously treat our mission and organize the world’s correction. But if we don’t do this, then all of the world’s suffering will come crashing down upon us, on the people who are capable of making corrections. But if we do not correct the world, then the suffering is transferred to us because what is everyone else guilty of if they don’t have the means to correct themselves? If you don’t hurry up with your correction, then the blow will shift to you.

However, for now you are looking at how they are suffering and you aren’t worried very much. Yet if you don’t even feel their suffering as your own, at least, and don’t correct yourself as if you are suffering as the whole world, then you don’t have a chance to attain correction. Only the group can give you this necessity.

The Book of Zohar has been revealed in our days in order to pull the world out of the abyss it is sliding into. The world is like a car that is riding down a good road, not even suspecting that somewhere behind the bend, the road ends and it will fall of the cliff.

And even the world itself already understands that it is sliding down into an abyss. The problems are mounting like a snowball and everyone is already talking about the fact that the world has lost balance. Yesterday I head that the Minister of the Russian Federation on Emergency Situations said that we are in imbalance with nature, that we have lost balance with it and have to get ready for the consequences. He really was using the words of a real Kabbalist….

We, those who have received a desire for the Creator (Isra-El), are now being given precisely the opportunity to organize the world’s correction and take all of its problems upon us. Without waiting for them to come on their own, we will already have the forces to correct them. We can correct them precisely now, while they are still somewhere in the external world, and we take them upon ourselves.

Kabbalah’s Most Important Book

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How does The Book of Zohar fit into Kabbalah?

Answer: The Book of Zohar is the main book in Kabbalah. We study it every day. I have just finished going over The Zohar in order to simplify its language and replace all of the Aramaic words. We are now translating this book into other languages and soon it will be published.

This book explains the laws by which the spiritual, global world operates. The difference between the spiritual world and the material world is not that spirituality is somewhere up in the sky, beyond all the galaxies. The spiritual world is right here, in the same place, but we do not feel it because it works at a different frequency, so to say.

We are looking at the world through our egoistic senses where each person perceives only what is beneficial to himself. But if we change our senses and attitude to the world and desire to see it as being single, great, and one whole, then we will see the world as an integral system of forces right here and now.

This is the world that The Book of Zohar tells us about. However, this book is written in a way that takes the reader and without him even noticing, leads him into the sensation of the new world. That is why it is such a powerful and unusual book. The Zohar works through our mind and feelings, influencing us from all sides.

Making Mistakes Before Finding The Truth

Dr. Michael Laitman“Introduction of The Book of Zohar,” Article “And Jethro Heard,” Item 73: A black hair that is not yellow sometimes succeeds and sometimes does not succeed. It is good for partnering with and for exerting with it for a short time, not for a long time, since for a long time, he will think thoughts. And to not part from him, he is good for a short while. He will succeed in the Torah if he exerts in it, and others will succeed in him. He has no secret for a long time, his heart is narrow, fear in his enemies. His enemies cannot overcome him….

As it is written in The Zohar, when a person does not have a clear perception of the spiritual world, he understands The Zohar literally. He is convinced that this Book is full of miracles and secret knowledge and that one can use it to read his fortune, predict the future, distinguish good and bad people, give everyday advice, and make money with it.

On one hand, this is incorrect. Material explanations of these texts serve as the basis for all confusions. On the other, when we look at this through the perspective of thousands of years, we see that people will not attain the truth without these confusions. They must become confused and “un-confused.” This way, they will acquire knowledge.

For the last two-thousand years we existed within the religious framework, and we had to live this way. This applies to all of humanity with all its beliefs and religions. We must go through this entire confusion because without it, we cannot connect together the properties of the Creator, Bina, and the properties of the creation, egoism, Malchut, on the level of the lower Malchut, egoism of our world.

What do all the beliefs and religions represent? They represent a certain spark of the spiritual world which needs to be introduced through force into our corporeal world, the desire to receive pleasure, and it can only be introduced in this form. It needs to be made into a mixture in the egoistic desire, Malchut.

The manifestation of the three lines of the Light, the descent of the three Klipot (shells) to the level of our world, was the reason for the origin of all the beliefs, the three religions, the multitude of spiritual methodologies, amulets, and so on. All of them are dictated by the desire to succeed in our egoism, Malchut, in this and/or the future world through Bina, the upper force, which allegedly exists in religion (spiritual practices).

However, without these “spiritual” activities, humanity would not be able to exist in the combination of Malchut and Bina, even on the level of our world. Bina must enter Malchut and give as well as absorb from Malchut everything it can.

After the end of the mutual inclusion of beliefs and religions (Bina of our world) into human egoism (Malchut of our world), the process of analysis, selection, separation, and correction begins. This is happening in our time when people begin to analyze the essence of religion from this mixture.

Those who joined Abraham had figured this out back in ancient Babylon; the rest are figuring this out now. This is why The Zohar, written with a language like this, can evoke absolutely different opinions depending on who is reading it.
