Happy New Year from Mexico!

Here’s another New Year’s wish for the Shana Tova contest – this one is from my students in Mexico!

Kabbalah in Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Last weekend our friends in Mexico held a dissemination event where they gave out the newspaper La Voz de la Cabalá (The Voice of Kabbalah) at a very popular tourist site – the city of Valle de Bravo, 150 km from Mexico City. They disseminated about 1000 newspapers in two hours. For several years now our groups in Latin America have been setting an example in study, unity and dissemination!

It’s Time to Implement Baal HaSulam’s Dream – In Virtual Space!

A question I received: Do you really think that the time has already come to implement Baal HaSulam’s dream about the State of Kabbalah in a virtual space?

My Answer: I see that everything is already technologically ready in the Internet and people’s consciousness has developed so they feel the need to exist in a spiritual society. According to research (published by Reuters in the news article, “Porn passed over as Web users become social”) people today are already more drawn to virtual communication (social networking sites) than to sex (pornographic sites). This clearly indicates that the modern society, the youth, has a demand for communication. It’s because the desire for sex is the fundamental desire of the animate level, the foundation of the egoistic desire. And if it is being voluntarily replaced with the desire for communication, then the time for correcting egoism has come!

Baal HaSulam’s words about the future society (see the article “The Future Generation” and the newspaper “The Nation“) must already be implemented in the virtual space. Of course, this is just the beginning, but I’m sure that as soon as we’ll be able to offer people a good platform for spiritual communication, then the masses will aspire to it. I look forward to receiving your ideas and technical proposals!

Happy New Year From the Odessa Congress!

During the Odessa Congress we filmed a very special video clip for the “Shana Tova!” (Happy New Year) competition. It took a crowd of about one thousand people, most of whom do not speak Hebrew, about a minute to learn and sing the Hebrew New Year’s song. The lyrics mean: “You’ll see, you’ll see, how good things will be, in the new year!” Watch this video to see how it all happened:

Anyone participating in this contest is participating in our common work!

Worldwide Map of Bnei Baruch

Here’s an interactive map of the world Kli that was made by our friends in Germany. By clicking on “All Contacts” at the bottom right, you can view all the contact addresses. When you move the mouse over any point on the map, the local group’s contact information appears at the bottom of the page.

Please notify us of any additions that should be made, and we’ll be sure to update the map!

From Our World, to the Virtual World, to the Upper World

A question I received: Lately you’ve been talking about going from regular newspaper dissemination like in Sochi and other places to dissemination through the Internet. Does this mean that we are going to stop publishing newspapers and magazines, producing TV shows, and so on?

My Answer: We are not going to make any hasty changes. We are continuing all of our present means of dissemination, including publication of books and newspapers, productions of films, and so on. However, gradually the priority is shifting to dissemination through the Internet. Here’s why:

Necessary for existence. Nature on the still, vegetative, and animate levels is programmed to consume only what is necessary for existence. The rest of the time, it rests.

Excess or luxury needs. Unlike animals, man strives to satisfy more than the natural (animalistic) needs of the body, such as food, shelter, sex, and family. He starts feeling additional desires for excess or luxury things by absorbing them from society. Hence, he begins wanting things like wealth, respect, fame, and knowledge. This is why man is forced to work more than is really necessary, in order to satisfy these excess demands. However, these desires aren’t actually his own, but society’s, and they were imposed on him by society. He devotes most of his life to satisfying these demands, and along the way, burdens many other people with extra work.

Needless luxuries are the cause of self-destruction. Nature’s harmony becomes disrupted when man, as a species, takes more from nature than what he needs for existence. This is why we are witnessing the exhaustion of the planet’s natural resources as well as the general crisis.

A society of necessary consumption. The solution to the problem lies in establishing a merciful attitude to one another. When we achieve an attitude of love, then society will no longer impose extra desires and work on man, but only those necessary for existence.

The time and efforts that will be freed up by this will be used for man’s spiritual development – a connection with the Creator, the highest reward. This will be realized by means of a greater connection between people (souls), until they are all drawn together into a single system of total inner interconnection – the single soul of Adam.

Establishing new relationships. New relationships between people – bestowal, mutual guarantee, and love for one’s neighbor, will mainly be realized through the virtual World Wide Web, which will incorporate all people. The diversity of the Internet will enable every user to satisfy all his needs, including study, communication, work, rest, and even some of the physiological needs, and so on. Even the necessary work will mostly be done through the Internet. Only a small number of people who work to produce goods and services necessary for human existence, will retain work outside of the World Wide Web.

Changing man. If we could transfer all the lessons, teaching, dissemination work, and the realization of the program of union with the Creator (gatherings of friends, communication, and congresses) to the virtual World Wide Web environment, and attract all of humanity into our environment, then we will be able to revive the world, making it ecologically healthy, and reeducate man.

The realization. People’s entire connection through the Internet is based on their desire to communicate with each other. Therefore, we have to show that we are willing to have any kind of contact with all the users. The development of Kabbalah on the Internet is a top priority. It will allow us to bring man not only to the perception of our world or the virtual world – but the true Upper World and the Creator.

Where Is the World Going – Nazism or Global Unity?

A question I received: There are many lies, but only one truth. Our entire world is a crooked mirror, and everything is not what they taught us in school. I learned this from the introductory lectures on the Concept of National Security by K.P. Petrov, leader of Russia’s political “Unity” party. Later I came across Kab.tv and started watching your lessons. What was remarkable is that after Petrov’s lectures, I found all your answers to be obvious. Could Petrov’s concept be a stepping stone on the way to Kabbalah?

What Petrov does is use very simple language to get ordinary people interested in reevaluating their preconceived notions, in going from the concept of “divide and conquer” to “unite and flourish.”

Could you comment on whether Petrov’s concept is useful or harmful, since this movement is gaining popularity and could be an alternative to the present regime?

My Answer: I am not familiar with Petrov or his concept. I don’t explore any other concepts besides Kabbalah. I know that the next regime will be either:

  • Nazism in all the developed countries, and then the path of great suffering will nevertheless bring people to the second path;
  • Or we will directly go to global unity of the entire world – above egoism, by means of the Upper Light that’s drawn through Kabbalah.

All other concepts will vanish before they even have time to develop.

I don’t believe in anything, including Kabbalah. I know the Upper World and its laws, and therefore I am not interested in any human concepts. There are laws of nature, and they govern our development regardless of any concepts we invent.

The Specifics of Studying in America

The Specifics of Studying in AmericaQuestions I received on how to study in the United States:

Question: We have heard that it is better to study with the world Kli live than at other times viewing the recorded lesson. In this post you say that it doesn’t really matter what time we study. Would it benefit the American groups to study together in the morning at a certain time each day?

My Answer: Yes, together is always better. Even if you are in front of a computer screen on your own, you should know and feel that there are many other friends together with you.

Question: Does it make a difference that we watch the three hour lesson before going to sleep whereas others watch it first thing in the morning?

My Answer: It’s better to watch the lesson in the morning, but if this isn’t possible then you can watch it in the evening, or even split up the lesson into parts and watch it at different times. In any case, at least half an hour in the morning is a must.

Question: If we were to study at a different time, what is the minimum size group that would be beneficial to study in?

My Answer: At least three men.

Question: Does this create more isolation for the American groups in comparison to the World Kli?

My Answer: No, provided that you work together with others on dissemination.

The Machsom Is the Same Everywhere – Even In Japan

The Machsom Is the Same Everywhere - Even In JapanA question I received: I live in Japan and I have been studying Kabbalah with you for three and a half years, together with my husband. I study in the mornings and in my spare time. Actually I study for 12 hours a day, and I just breathe Kabbalah all day long. Day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year, my inner reality is becoming clearer, more in focus, as if the essence of what I learn comes to me and blends with the properties of my vessels through the attainment of the states that change within me. There’s no doubt that studying with you has changed my entire existence, and obviously, just like others, I have a passionate desire to cross the Machsom. Do I have a chance of crossing the Machsom despite being so far away and having limited abilities to participate in dissemination due to the distance?

My Answer: Add dissemination to your studies. I know Japan and I think it has great opportunities for dissemination. Take part in the development of our Japanese site and its promotion on the Japanese Internet. A person receives spirituality inside the space he freed up by bestowing to others.

All the Prophets Wrote About Us

All the Prophets Wrote About UsQuestions I received on the prophets, the future of humanity, and the Bnei Baruch community:

Question: I’m wondering whether I understand this correctly: None of the prophets ever spoke about what was happening in their time nor about the forthcoming destruction of the Temple, but only about our times – the spiritual ascent and elimination of egoism that will take place?

My Answer: Yes. See the Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin, page 99 А.

Question: I am worried: will humanity be able to change and understand what matters most, or will it be held back by the war between Russia and Georgia and the world will drown in madness and chaos?

My Answer: I hope that our dissemination efforts will bring the world to a peaceful correction, without preliminary fighting.

Question: I heard that there was a time when Bnei Baruch was looking for an opportunity for Kabbalists to live together. However, even though your students live near the Bnei Baruch center, they still don’t live together. Why is that? Do you lack finances, an appropriate place, or this is necessary to strengthen the desire?

My Answer: We wanted to create a model of the future society within a close-knit environment, until we discovered that it’s necessary to come out into the greater world and enlighten the whole of humanity, instead of isolating ourselves.
