Answer: He will envy that the people around him have something that he lacks. They enjoy their lives, their relationships, while he does not have that kind of relationships and doesn’t enjoy life.

Ultimately, I am speaking about the desire and pleasure. If a miracle happens and your attitude towards your neighbor changes, you will perceive an eternal world. You will feel that you should live and at the same time receive a billion times more than you receive in this world. This entire world feeds from a spark that created it as it broke through from the upper world. All the pleasures here are merely a spark of the upper Light, which you reveal in the spiritual world.

It’s impossible to convey it; however, a person gradually realizes that there is a huge benefit in this: I am liberated and come out of myself, I am never sick, I rise above life and death, I am completely submerged in infinity, infinite fulfillment, and perfection. And all I need to do to achieve this is to switch internally from the “for me” mode to the “for others” mode.

In reality, a person suffers a lot in his life without even realizing it. We have already become accustomed to a constant rush, pressure, different responsibilities, and fears. Is it really possible to live without concerns, limitations, and worries? We don’t know what it is to be free, when all the goodness is before you and nothing limits you.

If we could only make people see for themselves what they can acquire in comparison to their current lives on, they would see that they are in the worst state, in the worst of the worlds. And they are free to exit: all they need to do is switch their attention from “for me” to “for us.” In the end, everything depends on our dissemination, the “agitation,” as Baal HaSulam refers to it.

Question: People agree with the idea of mutual guarantee, but they don’t know what to do with it. People accept our explanations in good will, but what next?

Answer: This is enough. First you give a person an explanation of the situation with the integral interconnection, informing him of the fact that in our global world it is inadmissible to give in to protectionism and isolationism. “It’s none of my business” is no longer a viable excuse. We are all interconnected like cogwheels whether we want it or not and there is no clutch pedal that could separate us from one another. There is no other way to go: We simply have to take one another into consideration, to understand the essence of mutual unification and the single human system. Only by mastering its laws will we be able to decide what we should do together from here on.

In the past we were separate and I was able to take anything I wanted from you for my own needs. But now, when we are welded together, I do not take away yet another “sack” from you, but simply move it around from one place to another in the common warehouse. And eventually, this will harm me.

We still don’t realize the meaning of “a single system.” If you don’t take all of its parts into consideration, then you cannot act. The world today is demonstrating the general interconnection to us, and this is just the first, smallest, most proximate spiritual level. Without ascending to it, we won’t be able to fix anything in our lives. From one day to the next, the external pressure will grow, the screws will tighten more, and the conditions of this first level will advance clearer, more precise demands to us.

Eventually we will have to get to know the single system, understand it, include it inside ourselves, and adjust ourselves on the inside to its laws. Then we will suddenly see abundance everywhere. As soon as we attain unity, the abundance will come to light. It will become apparent that peace and order reign everywhere, and we have reached peace on the first spiritual degree.

After that the next degree becomes revealed, and we are again faced by disorder, injustice, chaos…. That is how we continually discover our non-conformity to the following level of ascent.

Question: Yesterday, on October 15th, an event was held in Tel Aviv called “Uniting for change in the world.” During one of the discussions an activist said that he is sorry about how weak the protestors are, “We won’t achieve anything because we let the authorities take apart our tent cities. We have to be more aggressive to be heard….”

Answer: This is the regular egoistic approach. We acted this way throughout all of history. But who said this is fair or just? That kind of struggle won’t lead to any results because any “accomplishment” will be achieved at someone’s expense. What’s required here is general social agreement, compensation via all-enveloping consideration.

In reality, all of the disorders, all the hatred and animosity, all demands of the social protest are intended for us to reveal the upper force. If people try to establish good relationships on the social plane, they will reveal nothing but evil. In the egoistic reality, there is no hope for peace. However, while they are inside of that reality, they cannot imagine or envision anything different.

This is why people are demanding to take money away from the rich. We already know the price of pretty words about fair distribution.

Therefore, we have to remember that we are dealing with “children” who do not understand the ways of the universe, are in no way connected to the forces operating in nature, and do not see the true, final goal. It’s as if I take my disobedient child by the hand and lead him in the right direction. On the way he shouts next to every fast food stand, “I want ice cream! I want potato chips!” So what should I do? I buy him an ice-cream and lead him further since otherwise he would remain in the same place and continue going wild pointlessly.

This depends on who organizes the correction. If we give the instigators freedom to act, their “correction” will lead to disorders and bloodshed, which might have unpredictable consequences, both in separate countries and in the whole world. Besides, they won’t attain what they desire because they are going against the goal of creation. Instead of correcting the interconnection between people, only hatred will become revealed in them, more and more. That means one way or another, we will have to explain the real state of affairs to the world.

As for those who “wave their fists in the air,” their rants will end with the first blow that misses. We were all young and hot-blooded once. Everyone, including the government, understands that at this age it’s necessary to let a person “go wild.” But nothing can be achieved that way.

Question: On one hand people are coming out to the streets demanding equality and justice, certain that they can achieve it. On the other hand, we call these demands utopian and unrealistic. How can we let them understand that what they desire cannot be attained by force, but only through upbringing, unification, and mutual guarantee?

Answer: To them social justice means looting the cashboxes of the rich and giving out the contents. “We’ll pounce on the tycoons and finish them off.”

But we say, “No, first you have to understand the reason for what is happening.” Global tendencies are unraveling right before our very eyes and the problem here is not just stratification into the rich and poor, but a multi-faceted crisis. So let’s understand what this crisis really is. You see for yourselves that you won’t achieve anything through revolutions or by artificially distributing the resources. Real examples of this are modern Egypt, 20th century Russia, and Israeli kibbutzes. You will never achieve success by disrupting the natural flow of things.

Therefore, our answer is unification, especially if the issue at stake today is social justice and fairness. But how can we unite? Let’s study this question, and let’s learn to do it correctly. If our initiatives are aimed at justice, equality, and general balance, then is it possible to realize this without unification of people? In this case the means does not match the objective we have set.

Do you want to make everyone equal? First bring your desire, your foundations into concordance with this. Otherwise you and your group of a thousand people just want to establish your own social justice, but there is another group of two thousand people who have their own idea about justice. New groups are continually springing up, and the process is joined by the army, the government, unions, and tycoons, while in the meantime the enemies are shrewdly crawling up to the boundaries, and they have their own idea of justice.

So how will all of this end? What do you want to do? Can you attain the goal without balancing out all of the contradictions, without attaining mutual guarantee? Is it possible to build anything solid until everyone understands that they depend on one another and have to support one another? Only within this mutual guarantee will we reveal justice.

We cannot just give out money to someone. Is that just? There has to be a social consensus, a general agreement. And therefore, we say: First of all, we have to start a discussion, take each other’s interests into account, and unite. Mutual guarantee is what we need. If we attain it, then we will be able to keep going. But before we do, there are only conflicts and mutual deception ahead for us.

Question: I agree, this sounds logical. However, the notion of mutual guarantee still seems abstract. It’s unclear how to implement it….

Answer: That means you still aren’t able to convince people that without this condition, it is impossible to address anything else. You have not discerned this for yourself yet and have not demonstrated it to others as an indestructible foundation without which we cannot build anything.

Let everyone try to prove you wrong; you still have to accept only this condition: that we won’t manage without total mutual agreement on the fact that every person depends on everyone and everyone depends on every person. When we all agree with the general principles, then we will be able to find the right solution.

No matter what we desire—be it social justice, equality, mutuality, or unification, this is possible only on the condition that we all get together at a round table, that the whole nation sits down around it and reaches all-around agreement. Without this, we won’t budge an inch.

People will say, “But that’s impossible!” But how do you know: No one has tried it yet. One way or another, without this, only dictatorial methods will work.

In reality this is impossible only because we lack upbringing or social influence. This is what we have to form.

If the critical condition for future prosperity is impossible to fulfill today, that means we have to work on dissemination, explaining to people what mutual guarantee is and how to attain it. We have to involve the mass media, use every possible channel of influence, and show every person that this is the most important thing for us. This is integral upbringing, by virtue of which we will attain agreement, unity, and mutual understanding, and then we will take the next steps.

We must gradually build the phases of the path, showing people that it is impossible to act otherwise. Without the initial period of upbringing, it is impossible to go on to realizing the mutual guarantee because people must be internally ready for it.

In the News (from The New York Times): “Hundreds of thousands of disillusioned Indians cheer a rural activist on a hunger strike. Israel reels before the largest street demonstrations in its history. Enraged young people in Spain and Greece take over public squares across their countries.

“Their complaints range from corruption to lack of affordable housing and joblessness, common grievances the world over. But from South Asia to the heartland of Europe and now even to Wall Street, these protesters share something else: wariness, even contempt, toward traditional politicians and the democratic political process they preside over.

“They are taking to the streets, in part, because they have little faith in the ballot box.

“‘Our parents are grateful because they’re voting,’ said Marta Solanas, 27, referring to older Spaniards’ decades spent under the Franco dictatorship. ‘We’re the first generation to say that voting is worthless.’

“Alienation runs especially deep in Europe, with boycotts and strikes that, in London and Athens, erupted into violence.

“Increasingly, citizens of all ages, but particularly the young, are rejecting conventional structures like parties and trade unions in favor of a less hierarchical, more participatory system modeled in many ways on the culture of the Web.

“Protesters have created their own political space online that is chilly, sometimes openly hostile, toward traditional institutions of the elite.

“In many European countries the disappointment is twofold: in heavily indebted federal governments pulling back from social spending and in a European Union viewed as distant and undemocratic. My Comment: The disappointment with the elite should give way to the disappointment with our nature—egoism, so that we begin to transcend it. Redistribution of wealth without a moral awakening of the masses will yield no positive results. All the solutions are partial, that is, no one has the real solution to the problem, and what Kabbalah proposes is not considered because it is perceived as new communism, which has completely “exhausted” itself.

Economists are reluctant to acknowledge that nature puts before us the condition of complete unification into a single mechanism. It is time to create an economic model of reasonable consumption, mutual altruistic relations, and the benefit of bestowal. Having this vision of the near inevitable future that awaits us as the result of our development (evolution), we must educate everybody about the entrance into a new world.

Question: Today the crisis has reached all corners of the world and no one sees a solution to it. Why don’t we examine the economic system analogously to our system of upbringing, and offer it to the world?

Answer: We can provide a wonderful description of the economy in the period of the final correction: a balanced society, consumption within the boundaries of reasonable necessity, conservation of nature and man, the sole development of projects that save time and energy and benefit people’s health…. All of this is logical and is easy to put in writing if you are not writing about egoistic gratification, but basic necessity, the harmony between us and nature.

But how can we transition to this stage? How can we explain it to the modern tycoons who are essentially the ones to decide the fate of the world? They manipulate governments which in turn manipulate people. So how can we present this final goal to them? How can we tell them about the phases on the path to it? They will ask: “What will be left for us?” And what will we tell them in response?

“You will receive exactly the same amount as a regular housewife, and your billions will be returned to nature’s needs in order to fix the mess you have made by proliferating excessive consumption in the world. And beyond that you will enjoy internally, spiritually. You will no longer be ‘the top roosters in the pen,’ proudly parading around the perches. You will mature and this will cease giving you pleasure.” You will be fulfilled by the attainment of a higher level.” On the contrary, it will evoke scorn.

Will you be able to explain all of that to a tycoon so he will be enticed by the idea of eternal, perfect life, so he will want to enter the eternity of nature itself, join it, and reveal a higher level of existence in it?… “You will live there like a respectable tycoon. Even when your animate body dies, it is not really you at all. After all, you will become Human in the true, spiritual sense….”

This works only for refined individuals, yet others just might understand it right away. That is why today we are disseminating the force of mutual guarantee to the whole world, and we are not addressing the tycoons, but the people. “It’s worthwhile for us to get closer to one another so life gets better.” And in the meantime, with a view to the future, we inject Light into people, the force of unity. Once they are filled by this force, they begin to understand more and to agree with us, seeing real benefit in the mutual guarantee. That is how they advance.

The path to the heart is not through the mind. You can’t get your mind around this because the mind’s level corresponds to the level of the desire it serves. The mind can never rise above the desire. Deceived by illusions, we might look down on our animate being, but the mind seems like the pinnacle of creation to us. Yet in reality our mind is even lower than the animate desire, being a mere servant of it.

Therefore, the only opportunity we have is to change people’s desires, which can change only under the influence of the Light. This is what we have to provide for them. Your logical conclusions alone won’t help. People will not understand you and will think that you are simply an idiot or a mystic, or in the best case, a great guy dreaming about peace and love on the planet.

There is only one solution: to unite among ourselves and to give people the force of unity. Only this will raise them to a new level of understanding, perception, and agreement with us. Moreover, later, once they agree, they will see that it’s worthwhile for them to follow us because they can’t understand our message fully. By acquiring the force of unity, they will rise to a level where it will become clear that they have to hold on to us, as it is written in the Torah: They will “grab onto your clothes,” meaning the garment, the external vessels, and will say, “Take us there!”

Obviously, you are right in that we do have to talk a little about the economy, upbringing, and the world of the future so as not to push people away at the initial stage. But the most important thing is to transmit the force of unity to them. This is dissemination. In the Introduction to Panim Meirot UMasbirot, Baal HaSulam writes that when the sons of Israel become filled with this force of unity, it will spill from them to everyone else. We have to be ready to receive this force and then it really will spill over to people, who will be receptive to the influence of the Light of Hassadim, giving themselves over to it wholeheartedly.

My Comment: Society develops under objective laws of nature, just like any other population, so we don’t have to guess—nature has a precise and specific plan to bring us to a unified global integral system of relationships. The Internet will become one of the decisive tools in this development. Certainly, gradual change of the economy of the transition period to the economy of a new world will form the basis of all changes.

Question: Today, the people in Israel agree with the idea of mutual guarantee. It is as if we are convincing those who are already convinced. What concrete steps can we offer them?

Answer: First of all, we need to include them in the network of dissemination. The message passes on better via contacts and talks between people, rather than through the Internet. Besides this, we need to create various virtual games and formats leading to unity so that they make a strong impression on a person, similar to films and video clips. Finally, invite people to the conventions and festivals for an evening or for a few days.

As for the Internet, it presents tons of opportunities such as games (adults love them as much as children) and theatrical plays. The entire culture must cross over to that path. Even simple theatrical skits that visually illustrate our messages and give the right examples are very important.

We should diversify the explanations and vary their depth relative to what a person can absorb. For example, at first, he will watch a movie revealing the concepts in general. Then, an historian will tell him how things used to be earlier and how we arrived at where we are now. Then, a psychologist will make it personal, and so on.

A person is brought up by their environment that affects our senses differently. A big role is played by films, plays, and texts. All of these are factors of inactive perception, while games are an active format. Today, everyone plays with the help of joysticks, gadgets, add-ons, and touch screens, and the games are becoming ever more interactive.

Pretty soon, the world will be unemployed, and a lot of opportunities will arise for working with people. The integral upbringing will turn into an entire industry, which will involve cultural events, game formats, and everything necessary to engulf people, creating a general atmosphere which no one will want to leave.

Today, a person does not have the time to rest, and that is why we are working through the Internet. However, in six months to a year, there will be a lot of unemployed. It will give rise to problems, worries, and unrest, until it will become clear that there is no way back, and it is time to renounce the paradigm of the past. Then, the necessary work will be divided among the people so that it takes half of a day, three to four hours at most, and the rest of the time will be dedicated to education about how we unite with nature.

Part of our time will be utilized for material work and part for spiritual work, for correction. This is not leisure or entertainment at all, but rather real work compulsory for everyone. A person will not be able to provide for himself without fulfilling this condition. He will be studying in the full meaning of this word: He will take exams and move from grade to grade. We are not only talking about an educational program, but about the program of creation. It is impossible to absent oneself from it.

We depend on each other, and that is why I cannot allow anyone to be left aside. People will have to realize it to the full extent. They will be spending four to five hours a day doing the most important work in their lives, and these hours will lighten up the rest of the day. Besides this, while returning home, a person will receive the same message on the TV, radio, Internet, and mass media. They will be talking only about correction everywhere.

This is the only way. We are destined to ascend to Infinity, toward unending pleasures that we have been wanting so much. It is precisely now that such an opportunity has arrived. Thousands of years have passed by on a big mistake, and now we have found the right channel. We only need to open it.

It is not an accident that Nature is liberating us from all of the excesses. It wants us to understand that we need to stop everything that we were doing up until now. Otherwise, we will deplete the Earth and finish off the ecology. We need to pass toward correction very quickly.

Thanks to correction, we will repair the still, vegetative, and animate levels. Fish will return in the rivers and the seas, corals will once again cover the ocean floor, the disappearing species will revive again, and greenery will cover the dried-up land. Everything suddenly will start blooming, and the forests will rise within mere weeks and months.

We will awaken Nature on the human level, and then the Light will pour down. Everything will return to order in the shortest time. Even the plastic containers will disappear from the ocean. We will bring a new energy into the world that will correct what man has done to nature in the same way that he will be correcting his faults by himself. Everything depends on the portion of Light with which we will illuminate the world.

However, let’s get back to integral upbringing. It imposes a responsibility on everyone to study and participate in the work of the system of correction, to become exposed to the influence of the environment, and create integral unity with everyone.

The most important thing is to change the approach, to transfer the focus to the area of my development, and to choose the kind of activity where I can give more and receive more positive influence, to unite more and feel the fulfillment in this. We simply have no alternative.

Question: What is the use in educating the masses if the elite will continue to take the lion’s share?

Answer: The lion’s share of what? Do you think that the elite will not help us in providing basic needs? I do not think so. The government and the rich will not stand aside; they will lend a helping hand. In fact, neither they nor the masses have a choice. If we are heading towards general recovery, any part of the nation can take part in this.

For example, everyone but the poorest will allocate 10 percent of their income to social needs. What will motivate them? The threat of social riot and the collapse of country. The state will also cut one-tenth of the fat, both from the budget as well as from informal resources.

We need to understand what will follow. Unemployment will increase; the gap between rich and poor will grow, and people, as well as the government, will be confused. This is what will happen if we do not proceed to global education. The same thing is happening in Europe and America. Everyone will have to resort to this method. And we, Israelis, should set an example for the whole world.

And above all, it is desirable to demonstrate to people as soon as possible that “fair distribution” without global education is not fair and provides no solutions. We will not be able to deal with any modern problem without radical changes in society.
