Question: An adult cannot pass his thoughts to a child; he only sets an example by demonstration. How do we show an example to the outside world?

Answer: In The Writings of the Last Generation, Baal HaSulam writes that we must become such a vivid example of the corrected society that the whole world would be attracted to us. We will create a system of upbringing and the correct mechanism of relationships so that the world would clearly see what it is. Kabbalah conventions and children’s successes are also wonderful models of what is possible. We will demonstrate to the entire world that it is good, and the world will desire to join in.

Our example is not in some specific place. It is everywhere; it is virtual. We are creating a virtual, spiritual state without borders and material attributes. In it, everything is built and founded on the inner connection between people, and all the rest is added based on the same principles.

This is what should draw people to us: a unique interconnection where we find a spiritual phenomenon, the Light, an eternal and perfect life. It gives a person assurance and an understanding of where he is.

Our state is nothing like the states of the world with their borders, armies, governments, ministries and agencies. No, ours is entirely virtual and spiritual.

Question: What remains unchangeable in a person who develops spiritually and what changes in him?

Answer: The only thing that doesn’t change is the intention toward the right goal which he sometimes tries to create. Besides this, everything else changes and nothing remains. You lose everything besides the right intention if you have created it. Everything else only seems to belong to you, including your existence, and it is given to you only to create the intention.

This world and the spiritual world are not taken into account. Only the intention remains which we can create as a result of our efforts. This is the spiritual vessel, the soul.

In that intention you see the eternal reality, meaning yourself. What is the true reality? It is the degree of your revelation of yourself in the upper Light, in equivalence to it, in becoming identical to it. All of this becomes revealed only in the intention, and nothing remains besides it.

There is nothing besides the intention. This means that nothing else exists in reality. Everything else is imaginary and only seems to exist right now in order for you to attain the intention. After all, you have to live inside something. Who creates the intention? It’s the person whom you now perceive as yourself, living and existing in this world. Why do you need this? It’s in order to form the intention.

When you complete creating your intention from the beginning of the ladder of the spiritual degrees and until its end, then this entire world, this entire reality disappears because in reality it did not exist. It only seemed to exist to you in order for you to develop the right intention.

Now understand how important is the activity you are engaging in—the creation of your eternal image, the human who is similar to the Creator.

Question: If we read The Zohar with the right intention and demand for twice as long—for an hour and a half a day instead of 45 minutes, will we attain the full correction twice as fast? Or is there a different formula at work here?

Answer: The formula is very simple. The custom at my teacher Rabash’s was that we read The Zohar for half an hour a day. Rabash did not explain anything and did not add a single word. We simply read the text, everything in a row without asking him any questions for half an hour before sleep. That is why I follow the same order.

Do you want to study for twice as long? That is why I added another quarter of an hour to the lesson.

Question: Michelangelo said that he didn’t sculpt, but rather chiseled away all that concealed the true image in the stone. What image must I reveal in the boulder of the “environment” so that I may chisel the spiritual bond out of it?

Answer: Pure bestowal. Ask the upper force to come and draw the contours of pure bestowal for you since it is only the upper force that sets boundaries to you. Like Michelangelo, who could sense the contours of beauty within a stone, I must know where my contours, my boundaries are: to what extent I can use the matter of desire in order to bestow and what the limit is beyond which I am unable to do so.

All that is suitable for bestowal becomes a masterpiece of creation, and what is not, I discard for now. Thereby, I beget the image of the authentic world.

Question: How is it possible to explain to people that real evil lies in our opposition to the nature of the universe?

Answer: We can give a person this knowledge and sensation by presenting this fact to him by means of the right upbringing from society’s end. We will have to organize this upbringing in a way where it will contain a connection with the Light that reforms.

An additional problem emerges here. People without a point in the heart have to receive this illumination through us. If we take care of them, if we give them the method of correction, if we hold various events, broadcast TV and radio shows, work on the Internet, and if we formulate all the necessary principles for people, then they become attached to us and are nourished by the force that operates in our system, which lies deeper than their system.

It is enough to attach them to this extent in order for them to understand that their future depends on unity. But how can we bring them to this sensation? It can happen with the help of upbringing, social opinion, and the influence of those around you. The environment is able to instill the most removed and unnatural notions in a person. How so?

The society simply starts demonstrating condemnation or respect for certain qualities that a person has, and that’s all it takes. The people around a person can treat him dually: positively or negatively, and this is entirely sufficient.

We have to understand that there is no other way to go, that we have to attain balance with nature, and that we have to involve the mass media and other means, paying special attention to the young generation in order to already start teaching children about life in the new world. Without this, there is no other way to achieve anything.

Question: I know from experience that people don’t understand what kind of unity we are talking about. How can we explain this to them at least approximately?

Answer: Unity does not imply that I live in a common room or am acquainted with everyone. In practical terms it means that first and foremost I need to find a way to correct myself so as to not wish any harm to anybody. This is the first step.

We are not connected by mass media, text messages, or the Internet. These are merely the manifestations of the system we reside in; they are the means which allow us to feel how connected we are. The Internet will not bring unity to people; it will only explain that we are welded together, but in a negative form. After all, I use this Kli (vessel) exclusively for my own benefit and, possibly even to harm the others.

Hence, the first correction amounts to ceasing to desire any harm to a fellow human being. I begin to feel that we are inter-connected as integral parts, literally embedded into each other. I need to reveal this system since otherwise, nature will show it to me in a very unpleasant form. It strikes me in one place, and I suffer a misfortune in a totally different, seemingly unrelated place.

However, this is your part, and you have to feel this blow on yourself. If you still don’t sense what the others do, it means that you are not in the same organism, the same system, together with them. You still need to receive corrections: Either you will desire to accept them or nature will compel you to this.

For now we see how everyone is rejoicing in the others’ sorrow, each time when somebody feels bad. This is our nature. Today it is becoming revealed, and in accordance with it, we have to perform a correction.

By means of what? Kabbalists say that it’s the opinion of the environment. We have to artificially assemble around ourselves the environment which will obligate us to think differently and will educate us.

Question: In our world, there are many forms of unification. What unification does nature demand of us?

Answer: Nature expects us to be united as one man with one heart, to be a whole, global, integral system, similar to nature itself.

It wants us to feel each other, the needs of everybody, in thoughts and desires and to provide everybody with what he or she wants and lacks. It wishes us to support everybody in collective oneness.

This raises a lot of questions, but ultimately this is what nature requires of us. Nature wants us to resemble it: to be as one. After all, it itself is a unified system.

In this system we shouldn’t be a part that disturbs everybody, falls out of general perfection, and stands out with its corruptness. We shouldn’t be a cancerous tumor that is eating the body alive or a broken fixture that causes the engine to stall and overheat. We have to bring ourselves to correspondence with nature so as to correct ourselves at its speed.

Question: If a person is not used to the scientific approach, will it be difficult for him to study the science of Kabbalah and The Book of Zohar?

Answer: This makes no difference! Kabbalah is a means every person can use. Any housewife living anywhere at the end of the world will also have to use this science to some extent in order to reveal the root of her soul.

After all, today she also uses this world in some way in order to provide the necessities of existence for herself, to raise her children, and to live. Even for regular family life she needs some kind of connection with the world, and therefore, she has to know how the world is built at least on the simplest level.

In the same way, she will have to reveal the spiritual life. She has no other choice! She will have to cancel herself in some respect in order to acquire this life. She will have to receive the Light of correction and enter the study system. Not one person will be able to avoid this.
