New Life 1201 – Behavior Modification

New Life 1201 – Behavior Modification
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

People are affected by pleasure and suffering, which exert various pressures that shape one’s behavior. When a person is given relative freedom, he can develop from within by learning about himself, his environment, and the harmony of the entire system in which he lives. If he is lowered to the rank of an animal, his behavior can be shaped according to the pressures of pleasure and suffering; he can be trained through reward and punishment or positive and negative reinforcement. In order to develop spiritually, an education system must help a person connect to the environment in a mutually complementary way. Nature requires that we build a proper internal model of the outside society so that we know how to relate in a loving way toward the environment.

New Life 1237 – From New Thinking To New Relations

New Life 1237 – From New Thinking To New Relations
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

We need to understand what nature demands from us and that all of the blows we encounter result from imbalance in relations between people. Our egos are between us and through concessions we can ascend above the human ego and build a balanced connection between us on a higher level. We can get rid of the hatred and conflicts between us by giving up control. We need to hold on to one thought: to act for everyone’s sake. This can only be done when there is mutual support. We need to act kindly toward everyone and make sure everyone feels good, including our partners. If we know how to connect to the internal mechanism of nature, we will balance humanity and build heaven on earth.

New Life 1236 – The Fear Of Returning To The Old Routine

New Life 1236 – The Fear Of Returning To The Old Routine
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

The long disconnection from our old routines has led to changes in our attitudes to life. We are not the same people we used to be. We are living in a new era. Until now, we fought with each other like kids, but it’s time to grow up. We need to limit humanity’s engagement in unnecessary matters and warm up the atmosphere between us. The workplace needs to be turned into a place of challenge and adventure and pay must be disconnected from work. A new, positive routine will require that everyone has their basic needs met and people will work in areas that humanity really needs. In such a society, people will feel a sense of balance and will be free from destructive competition. We need to develop the right ecological conduct, which includes a humane attitude toward the air between us and what we fill it with. If we each know that we leave our homes in order to learn how to live a balanced life, we will have nothing to fear. If we don’t want to learn how to live a balanced life, the blows will continue and force us. Evolution doesn’t stop.

New Life 1235 – From Technological Innovation To Social Innovation

New Life 1235 – From Technological Innovation To Social Innovation
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

The innovation that the coronavirus era is requiring of humanity is not technological but social; we need to build new, positive, interdependent relations between us. We live in a system of laws that includes the relations between people. Changes in these relations affect the whole system.

First, we need to feel that we are all connected to each other around the globe, that we belong to one integral system like one family.

Second, our bright future depends on our positive attitude toward each other, regardless of any differences in our nationalities or origins.

Third, we need to learn these laws and implement them in the connection between us. Innovation in the field of happiness will occur when a person feels happy because everyone around him is happy.

Innovation in the field of self-fulfillment will happen when each one feels responsible for the whole world from his unique vantage point. If there is mutual guarantee between us, we will discover enough natural resources to sustain everyone and provide for their well-being. No one will fear anything. If we relate to people and to nature correctly, we will solve all of our health problems from the root. Beyond our health, social innovation will also help us to rise above this life and attain the essence of our existence.

New Life 1233 – Humanity As A Global Family

New Life 1233 – Humanity As A Global Family
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

All of nature is round and it is only the human species that isn’t functioning accordingly. Nature has given us a collective “punishment” with the coronavirus and is forcing us to awaken to the need for cooperation as a single global family. We must become equals and support one another, no longer profiting at the expense of others. The world requires related global planning, education, and governance. If international relations don’t become more balanced, stronger blows are liable to come. Humanity has an influence on the entire system of nature. We have no choice but to spiritually develop.

New Life 1232 – Advancing Toward A New Lifestyle

New Life 1232 – Advancing Toward A New Lifestyle
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

Nature is showing us, through the coronavirus, that we are each other’s future and that we have no choice but to advance toward a new, mutual connection. There is an engine in nature that is constantly developing us toward a state in which we will see humanity as a single, integral character that we want to improve. We have been developing incorrectly in an egoistic and competitive way. We have sullied, polluted, and destroyed nature. Let’s dream about the life that we would want our children to have, and start building it among us now.

“Put On A Mask, For Other’s Sake” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “Put On a Mask, for Other’s Sake

“Hospitalizations in at least nine states have been on the rise since Memorial Day,” wrote The Washington Post. And according to an Associated Press analysis, “Cases are rising in nearly half the states.”

The coronavirus isn’t considerate. It doesn’t care that we want to reopen our economies and go back to the life we had before. If we do not avoid contagion, it will keep returning until we do what we must.

And what we must do is change our whole perspective on life in this world; this is what the virus is impelling us to do. We thought that if we found a good job and made enough money, life would smile at us. But in a world where we affect everyone so immediately, we can’t afford to think only about ourselves if we want to be safe.

To be safe, we have to think about everyone’s safety, even more than about our own. We must wear masks not in order to avoid catching the virus, but in order to avoid infecting others with it, because we don’t know who’s got it and who doesn’t, who is clean, and who is infected but asymptomatic. The masks we should wear and the distance we should keep are not for our own sake, but first and foremost for everyone else, to keep them healthy. Only if we think in this way will we be able to clean up the country from the virus.

And as we are cleaning up the country, we will learn how to really think about others. We will learn that only when we think of others, we ourselves can be safe. If we think about our own safety, it forces us to arm ourselves with protective gear and weapons. This, in turn, creates violence and casualties. But if we focus on keeping our community and city safe, everyone will be safe, our personal safety will grow, as well, our confidence and calm will increase, and our lives will be easier and happier.

It turns out that by teaching us to wear masks not for ourselves but for others, the coronavirus is teaching us to develop mutual responsibility.

New Life 1230 – The Individual Versus National Institutions

New Life 1230 – The Individual Versus National Institutions
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

The crisis of trust between national institutions and citizens will only be resolved through a new, general, social education program. The coronavirus epidemic is causing us to feel that we are living in a global world, and if we do not learn to be considerate of each other, all of us will die. The state has no obligation to help all business owners, but it is worthwhile to ensure that every citizen has a basic income. Each person and the state need to connect through the power of love and become like a single body.

New Life 1229 – What Has The Coronavirus Changed In Us?

New Life 1229 – What Has The Coronavirus Changed In Us?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

The relationships between us are being upgraded by the coronavirus. Internal changes are happening within people due to the time spent at home with family. Each one is clarifying and examining their goals at work and in life in general. Future employment will only exist to provide us with our basic needs and for the development of a connection between people. In principle, there is a need for everything except for armament because it causes destruction to humanity and to nature. Managers and employees must change their attitudes and work on developing an integral connection. Our mission these days is to introduce a question mark in each person regarding life, the world, and everything: Where are we going?

New Life 1228 – Physical Distance For Heartfelt Closeness

New Life 1228 – Physical Distance For Heartfelt Closeness
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi

The ego is so great today that the interior and the exterior are not the same. I can shake someone’s hand and hate him in my heart. Love must be developed here so that physical closeness will be the result of an order from the heart. The Coronavirus has prohibited  all physical contact so that we will understand that we are living in a culture of lies. The virus makes it possible for us to think about what must be corrected in the relationships between us: first, do no harm and then become closer, like a single soul. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches people how to work in a group until the heart opens. It is up to me to direct my heart toward someone else so strongly that he or she will feel this without even seeing me.
