Question: How do I break through the shell that does not let me feel the unity of my friends?
Answer: The shell can be broken only by hitting it repeatedly. I know from my own experience that it was only possible to reach unity by persistence, stubbornness, and continuous daily work over the course of few years. In our time, this period of time is becoming much shorter because the world is different, the pace is different. In any case, there are numerous actions to breaking apart this shell.
You must simply forget about yourself and enter the group. Being in it, you feel disturbances, a desire to distance yourself from the friends; you are in a kind of internal storm, you feel sick. This is not important. Stay inside to the maximum, regardless of everything! Get used to your feelings and stay in the group.
Do everything possible in order to come under the influence of others to the maximum. It is not important that you have all kinds of negative feelings, thoughts, and qualities in relation to them. The feelings, thoughts, and qualities arising in you come from Above on purpose, and that’s one thing. It is entirely another thing when regardless of them, you remain together with everyone. This is very hard, very difficult.
Later, you will see that all of your personal thoughts and qualities are those that you needed to get rid of and that all your wisdom, understanding, and personal attainment are worthless. You simply need to erase them in order to enter the group like an embryo into its mother’s womb. Then you will begin to develop spiritually. That is why you must keep trying with all of your strength to break through this shell.
It is giving in; it is cracking now. It will crack even more so when we get together, millions of people from all around the planet, separated physically but united by hearts. We really will get a great power in order to break through the Machsom (the barrier). Everything is moving toward this goal.

Question: What direction should we stick to for the convention to be as successful as possible?
Answer: We must try to find our most acute feelings from our joint actions and to cultivate them inside of ourselves constantly. We need to grow what we experienced in the desert, in the lessons, and while doing the preparation work for the convention now.
It is necessary to find these feelings inside yourself. It is not possible to express them in words. Hold yourself in these feelings more and more sharply. Somehow, wherever we may be and whatever we may feel, we need to elevate them above everything else, above all of the problems that arise, so that problems only strengthen the feelings that we attain from moments of unity.
Try to collect, constantly increase, and grow these feelings of unity in yourselves. In the end, these feelings will allow us to reach the feeling of the general quality of bestowal, unity between us. Within it, we will feel the upper world.

The Upper World Is Simple!
We need the influence of the Light that Reforms to make of us one desire, one vessel. How can we summon this Light to shine on us? In order to do that, Kabbalists have described its actions. It makes no difference if these actions are directly connected to us. What’s important is that we awaken the Light. By our intentions, we awaken it, the “One, Unique, and Unified” that exists.
When I read The Book of Zohar, I don’t feel anything. What is described there is concealed from me. To imagine different images is to create idols. I know only one thing: The “One,” the concept that I yearn for, corrects the shattered vessels, meaning the desires that are separated by egoism. I want it to correct the separation. This is what I think about, yearn for, and demand.
I don’t worry about understanding The Zohar because as it is written, “it is not the wise one who learns.” This is called the “studying of the Torah.” After all, the Torah, the method of correction (as it is written, “I created the evil inclination, and I created the Torah as a spice”), is not attained by the mind. I correct my egoism and connect with others by the power of the “One.” In this collection of desires, I discover the new integral reality, the upper world.
We know this from the experience that each of us has after years of studying the wisdom of Kabbalah. The mind doesn’t help in any way. There is some internal change, and then I begin to understand, to feel, and to connect the different notions better.
So, in order to summon the influence of the One who will unite me with all of reality, I simply have to read about His actions. However, I aim myself toward the outcome of the reading, the influence of the Light that Reforms: It brings me back to the state of the One from whom it comes. This is what is important.
I add the group to this. I add myself, the entire world, and everything that I perceive in my reality. Everything has to connect to the notion of the “One, Unique, and Unified.”

Question: How can I connect with the group when I watch the lessons alone?
Answer: We see a large number of people connecting to us on the screen from all over the world. We are all together in one group. Don’t you feel it? You have to rise above the distance that lies between us because in reality, it doesn’t exist. We exist in one single field.
Our physical bodies are here on earth: They sit, walk, run, and jump. In the spiritual world there are only desires, and therefore, everything depends upon our desire. The corporeal world is completely imaginary and non-existent. It exists only in our perception, until we enter the spiritual world.
We will pass this state and forget it because it doesn’t really exist. This state exists only in our perception of reality as the lowest of all states, from which we must ascend. This perception exists only in our egoistic desire, but in reality, egoism doesn’t exist.
We were given this uncorrected altruistic state, the only one that exists in the world, deliberately so that we use it as a basis for rising to our first spiritual level. This is why our world is called the imaginary world because it gradually disappears from our perception. This world is not the reality. In reality our world doesn’t exist.
Let’s imagine our true state where all of creation exists as one collective body, one general system. In order to sense this system, we must strive towards it. It is said: “If you wish to be happy, be so.” A child can only become what he aspires to be. Life constantly forces him to want to grow, to take examples from adults, and to imitate them.
We have to do the same and take our example from Kabbalists. We must follow their advice, imitate them, and be led by their instructions instead of by our little childish minds. We must act without looking back, like a child who takes examples from the adults. Then we can be absolutely sure that we will succeed.
We have to create an example of a single global community. It makes no difference if you live in Los Angeles, Mexico, or Siberia. It makes no difference if you are alone because you are actually not alone! You are together with everyone! Try to rise above the computer screen and see and sense us. This is possible!
Let’s try to play it, and then we’ll attract an intensive influence of the Surrounding Light, the Light from a higher level where we are all already connected.

Question: I cannot tie the relationship between us with what we are reading in any way. It seems as if the material we are reading is hanging in the air and has nothing to do with me. How can I tie it to myself?
Answer: At the moment, you are not feeling any connection with the material you are reading because you are not connected to the friends, to any of them. The moment you start to bestow upon someone, you will immediately understand what a Partzuf (spiritual organism), a Tzimtzum (restriction of desire), and a Masach (anti-egoistic screen) are, how to calculate with the intention to bestow, how you are connected with others through the spiritual Partzufim, and what is referred to by Ibur (conception), Yenika (nursing), and Mochin (maturity).
What is the meaning of begetting someone? I beget my attitude toward someone else. When I beget all my attitudes toward all the others, it means that I beget all the Partzufim of my Malchut, of my desire.
I beget all the Partzufim from the bottom upward, from my Malchut (desire to receive) to Keter (desire to give) of the world of Infinity. This ascent is made of ten Sefirot, and I have to beget my relationships toward the whole world within them.
How can I feel the entire world and all the people? It’s simple. The closer I get to the spiritual system, the more clearly I discover the network of connections before me. It even is said about our corporeal relationships that through six people we know, we can connect to the rest of the world. That is, we see that this is possible.
In the spiritual world, you will feel as if everyone is actually by your side. It is hard to grasp, but all of humanity is by your side. You will connect with each one, not indirectly like in our world where we discover that through six people, we can come in contact with everyone, but directly, with everyone.
It isn’t like our body in which there is a certain order and system of connections. By bestowing upon each part of the spiritual body, I connect with each one directly, like a point on a sheet of paper, folded several times, is glued closely to all the other points. I connect with everyone and bestow upon everyone, by creating the Partzufim.
Astrophysicists actually are discovering that our universe exists in this “folded” form.

Question: What’s the use of the group’s seclusion at the Convention in the Arava desert?
Answer: We have gathered here to lay the foundation for a new society, whose purpose is to attain adhesion with the Creator. In order to attain adhesion with Him, we have to attain adhesion among us. And in order to attain adhesion among us, we have to unite, disconnecting from the disturbances of the outside world. After all, we’re small and we have to strengthen one another, so let the world not interfere with our doing so. That is why we are going to the desert.
In the past, groups of Kabbalists took much more extraordinary measures to isolate themselves from the external environment. A person has to allow himself a bit more freedom from this confused and senseless world, to collect himself inside a bit more and understand what his predestination is.
In the whirlwind of life, under the roar of the radio and television, you can’t make out the fine voice of your soul or attain the fragile inner inspiration. You simply don’t have the energy for it. Even Kabbalists living hundreds and thousands of years ago in a completely different world, which did not know the “wonders” of mass media, still secluded themselves, barring themselves from their habitual environment, and even “going into exile,” leaving home without taking anything with them and going off to wander for years, getting by with occasional earnings and food.
You don’t even know what you are losing in the modern world, which is stuffing and miring you with its filth. Do you want to attain something exalted? If you do, then what efforts are you making to break away from the lowlands?
It’s worthwhile for us to find time for this kind of seclusion where we will feel only our own forces, without the disturbances of the outside world. Let’s separate a day in life to feel who we are instead of who they are.
Obviously, we don’t force anyone to participate and we don’t make lists of participants or deserters. We don’t put check-marks for the future. Whoever doesn’t want to or can’t come just doesn’t come. In this sense, everything is very liberal and open. But on the other hand, if a person comes there, he has to participate in the actions that the group has assigned to help us detach from everything and feel only ourselves.
Don’t you sometimes wish to be alone with yourself? That is how the group wants to be alone with itself, to feel itself. You enter a room, close the door, and remain with your own thoughts. That is how we want to remain with our thoughts. In reality, this is clear and commonly accepted. But for us it’s not just a minute of rest, but a detachment from “the degree of women and children” and an ascent to the “men’s level.”
In the article, “The importance of the group,” Rabash writes, “When a person works on the true path, he needs to seclude himself from other people. After all, the path of truth requires fortification because it contradicts common notions. The world’s opinions are built upon knowledge and reception, whereas the Torah’s opinions are built upon faith and bestowal. And if a person is distracted, then he immediately forgets about all work on the path of the truth and falls into the world of self-love. Only in the group do the friends help one another, and therefore every person receives forces from it to fight the commonly accepted notions.”
The upper world is our inner world. We have to shift our gaze from externality to internality. Therefore, with the help of the friends, I try to go inside, to look inward, to acquire a deep wisdom, to attain the inner meaning of the Torah. There is no other choice—I need this.
A person must constantly immerse himself inward, penetrate into his depths—and precisely there he reveals the true world. The external world deliberately confuses us so through the conflict with it, upon the resistance, we would build our direction inward. Our struggle is to penetrate deeper and deeper on the background of this world’s reality, which pulls us outward.

Question: If you ask people what the soul is, the majority will say that it is something like a cloud or some kind of energy, characteristic of this person (his or her reaction to what happens around them). During my studies I understood that the soul is the quality of a character, which we do not know, and that we discover it only when we unite with each other.
But a woman cannot unite. Does this mean that she has no soul? A woman does not draw the Light and, and hence she does not have to study The Study of the Ten Sefirot or The Zohar. Once, there were women prophets. What is the difference between them and those who predict the future?
Answer: By participating, a woman receives everything through a man even if she does not study Kabbalah, although today it is not forbidden to anyone.
Question: When I feel good and easy about my life, what can I do to quickly discover the next part about myself that is lacking? This morning I felt the need to connect and study with others, but the lesson does not start until later tonight! I feel like I am wasting time. What should I do?
Answer: Read Shamati, the Psalms, and any of our sources.
