In order to enter the next degree, I need to desire it since the field of the Upper Force itself does not change. This field of the Upper Force is divided into rungs, and for the time being, I reside at the very bottom, at the level of “this world.”

How do I leap to the next potential level of the “World of Assiya” and keep going higher and higher? We travel in this field in leaps like electrons that leap from orbit to orbit. In order to port from state (orbit) 1 to state (orbit) 2, I need to receive the desire of level 2 and begin wanting to leap to the degree of bestowal.

In other words, in order for the field’s force to accomplish the job of transferring me from level 1 to level 2, passing me from rung to rung, I must start desiring to be in state (orbit) 3 while still being in the state (orbit) 2. I only need to obtain the correct desire, and then the field will carry me over if I correspond to it.

However, how do I start desiring greater bestowal than I possess now so that I may cause a sequential ascent along the 125 spiritual degrees? To accomplish this, I am given the environment. For example, I myself have a desire valued at one unit, but in order to ascend, I need the strength of 10 units. So, if you link with nine friends, you will receive the strength needed for the next degree valued at 10 units. There is no other way.

Therefore, one big soul of Adam HaRishon (the First Man) broke in order to give enveryone an opportunity to absorb the desires of others, to attract the effect of the field, and climb the 125 spiritual degrees, up to the final correction. Only by connecting with the others do we receive the need to ascend. Initially, you are given only one spark, but thanks to it, you have to attach nine more sparks, and then you receive enough strength to jump to the next degree. And it occurs suddenly, like the escape from Egypt.

The same takes place at each degree. As the Aviut (coarseness) of the desire grows from the root (0) level to Aleph (1), Bet (2), Gimel (3), and Dalet (4), the potential energy increases as well, leaping from orbit to orbit (rung to rung): 1, 2, 3, and so forth.

Thus, you reside at the very lowest, 1st state, and at first, you may think that this is life! But later, you suddenly feel that it is exile. In order to understand what it is, you need to clearly “draw” redemption, the next degree, for yourself. After all, you may view redemption as paradise, filled with various treats, or you may think that redemption is a chance to bestow, love, and connect with others.

We realize this discernment in the group. All our work takes place within the soul, either the broken one or the one which we re-assemble with our efforts. If we unite with each other stronger, we generate a more powerful force field and attract weaker particles, helping them to advance. They feel attracted to us for we are have been all linked together starting with the unified soul of Adam. It broke only in relation to us, and although we don’t perceive it, it does exist. We create energy circles around us and attract people.

This is how the field of desire acts, which is the authentic circulation of Kabbalah. These circles permeate all souls, the whole of mankind as one singular force that awakens everybody to the purpose of creation.

Question: What is “internal circulation”?

Answer: Internal circulation means that in our circle, we, those who aspire to know the Creator, are in a powerful bond. And since we are also intertwined with other souls within the integral system of Adam, our strong bond begins reanimating them.

If in an organism there are some ill areas but the main systems are healthy and function well, then, thanks to these healthy systems, the body heals the problematic spots. Similarly, the Light that is revealed in us thanks to our unity “spills out” onto the rest, onto all those people who would not be able to receive it on their own, and they start feeling that such force exists and brings salvation.

For the time being, they are concerned only with the corporeal problems, but the latter are increasing so fast that humanity cannot find the solution to ecological catastrophes, terror, drug abuse, depression, or divorce. All these problems are caused by nature, the Creator, and a person will not find any solution to them at the level of the corporeal world. Humanity will keep declining until it realizes that this degradation cannot be stopped.

After all, nature must bring us to realization of our evil, as it is written: “I created the evil inclination, and I gave the Torah (Kabbalah) as the method to correct it.” And if I don’t see my evil, I have nothing to correct and don’t need Kabbalah as the means of correction.

Therefore, everyone who asks himself such questions will instinctively find us. We have completed such great preparation that there is every opportunity to circulate Kabbalah externally.

Question: What kind of work do the people attending the upcoming Convention have to do? What is our role in the unification of the global world so that we may become the people through whom the wisdom will pour onto the nations of the world?

Answer: This work is exemplified by the law that governs the existence of any living organism. Suppose that receptors of the nervous system are placed throughout the body. In the same manner, the vascular, lymphatic, and other systems spread through the entire organism. Likewise, people from all over the world are arriving to the Convention. On one hand, they all belong to one system, the system of Israel. On the other, they all live in different countries located in various corners of the globe and seem to belong to diverse, alien nations.

Each place where they reside is affected by various spiritual forces. The entire globe and each of its parts is affected by a certain Upper Force “responsible” for the continent, country, or nation. Therefore, a person who is part of the system of Israel and is arriving from some other country or place in the world is, in a way, our representative in the collective system.

Let’s take, for instance, the nervous system whose receptors exist in the leg, arm, chest, and stomach areas. And now, these parts of ours (as it were) that are located in different countries are arriving, and we unite together. It turns out that, together, we awaken our collective system, for instance, the nervous system of the collective soul called Adam. And then, through our friends living in various places in the world, we, together, awaken the whole world.

We see that after our conventions, awakenings occur in previously unheard of places, and people whom we have never heard about start joining us. Each of them is a force able to awaken billions of people. After all, in spirituality, if the contact is made, the Light immediately reaches the organ wherein this soul belongs.

Thus, we observe that our collective soul expands throughout the entire world and exists in all humanity. And the response of this collective soul clothed in all humanity is amazing. We begin to feel that this is, indeed, the integral global mankind, for the first time beginning to understand that we all depend on each other.

Thus, by means of such gatherings, when we unify together with our friends (the integrated system of Israel in the whole world), we thereby revive the entire system of individual souls that are mutually connected not by the egoistic principle, but by the principle of Isra-El (aspiring directly for the Creator).

This is what is called the correct, internal circulation of the wisdom of Kabbalah in the whole world. Uniting, we thereby fulfill our role as Israel in relation to all nations of the world. Thanks to that, we will be finally graced with unity and the Creator will dwell in the assembly of our souls.

Question: Don’t you think that we need much wider dissemination of Kabbalah without mentioning its name, but rather explaining its ideas, the causes of the current crisis, and the necessity to unite in our world?

Answer: I totally agree with what you just said about the necessity of being more open in our external dissemination. I agree that special programs with the intent of spreading this wisdom more broadly are essential. We also have to prepare professionals in this field.

However, before acting, we have to conduct research in order not to drown in the sea of similar slogans and mottos urging “unity” that are already being spread by other people that know how to use “beautiful words.” There are so many organizations out there. The Internet is crowded with them, but no one listens to them. Why?

The reason is that nature is just a desire to receive pleasure and delight selfishly. A person can “hear” only within the radius of his own desires, but he cannot go beyond them. This is how creation was built. Screaming is useless here.

Rabash once said that while desire is not sold in the drug store, we can only address those who are “sick.” We all are indifferent to everything except ourselves. We cannot blame people for that. So what options do we have?

We can only do the following:

1. Disseminate our ideas and bring together those who already have “a point in the heart.”

2. Disseminate our ideas a little wider than only to those who already have “a point in the heart,” also to the people who are very close to getting it.

3. We know that, so far, humanity doesn’t want to acknowledge the global crisis and tries to hide it. The only thing that is impossible to cover up (and that is being felt by each of us) is the predicament in the upbringing (not education!) of our children and the critical situation at schools, in families, and in our personal lives.

If we can manage to demonstrate to others that we are able to bring up the young generation to be physically and psychologically healthy, ethical, and aware of the purpose of their existence to its very width and depth, we would definitely attract everybody’s attention. Thus, through such upbringing (a collective one, through the attraction of Ohr Makif, the Surrounding Light) we would enlighten children instead of adults, that is, we would form a new generation that will replace their parents several years from now.

We have to set up a chain of schools all over the world. We have to use the Internet to create an open school for everybody; virtual space should become a platform for upbringing and education, the creation of interest groups, communication networks, and whatever else is popular among youngsters. We have to raise them from the material plane to virtual space and then to spirituality.

For that, we have to launch a virtual school. Even if we happen to attract only our friends’ children worldwide, it still will bring in hundreds of thousands of kids that will achieve good results and that later on will become active and educated participants of our movement. As a child matures physically, he will grow spiritually as well.

We can implement the third item in practice and thereby push the world towards correction, as it is said in The Bible: “Return the hearts of fathers to their sons, and the hearts of their sons back to their fathers.”

The correct relation between all parts of nature as a unified system is called love which takes into account the interests of all as a single system. In other words, I feel everyone as an inseparable part of me because we really are all connected!

The only problem is that in our world we do not perceive the force that can bring us to this state. Therefore, we don’t even look in that direction, considering it as a kind of unreal utopia, and try to use this world as egoistically as each one can. In the end, we completely ruin this world, and there is nothing left in it to use. We have rendered it to such altered conditions that any kind of control on our behalf is lost.

That is why the point in the heart and the wisdom of Kabbalah surface only in the generation that reaches an ultimate stage of desperation and helplessness. Kabbalah becomes absolutely necessary, and hence we are obliged to disclose it.

It is an indispensable condition for correction of the world. The whole world must know about it. It is like the story of the Egyptian Plagues when Moses argued with Pharaoh. Why did he come to Pharaoh in the first place? It’s because each egoist in this world should know that a method of correction exists!

Due to the circulation of this method on one hand and the growth of egoism on the other, two stubborn qualities, the people of Israel and Pharaoh, are facing each other, and they both realize that there is no way out. And then this world (the egoistic Pharaoh) has to understand that the only solution is to rise above its current condition and accept the method of correction.

Therefore, Baal HaSulam explains to us that dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah is the most necessary and important condition of spiritual liberation.

Question: Is there a difference between studying The Book of Zohar at the congress with the masses and studying it in our group at the morning lessons? What is more important, quality or quantity?

Answer: Quantity doesn’t demean quality. Within a mass of people, there always are those who can unite to a greater or lesser degree, and there are those who can’t unite at all or who forget about it. In either case, quantity has its advantage, as it is written: “I dwell among my people.”

At this point, we are not talking about some special group of people, meaning those who are bright, determined, capable of inner work, and well trained. The Creator dwells within the entire nation, not just in some small group of special characters that He Himself advanced and brought together into the tip of the pyramid. Regardless, He still says that He dwells among the masses.

The Upper Governance cares most of all about the still level (in humanity), less about the vegetative one, less so about the animate, and the least about the speaking level. The weaker the created being, the less free will it has, the less autonomously it can work for the correction of creation (according to the Plan of Creation and the common system), the more the Upper Governance gets clothed in it, and this is a sign of revelation of Godliness (Elokut).

In other words, we are not talking about revelation of the Creator in some exalted souls such as Rashbi and all the great Kabbalists. The revelation of the Creator is measured with regard to society, not individuals. Therefore, we should not neglect large quantity but value it. The power of the masses lies in quantity, not some individual characters that have personally attained spirituality and perform personal spiritual work.

It is the common work which matters the most because by doing it, we allow the Light to be revealed and attain the revelation of the Creator. As to the personal, special work of some individuals, our group, or several groups, it is necessary solely in order to connect to this huge mass (several million people into billions of them) and through us, bring to it the spirit of life.

Therefore, the aim, intention, and goal are namely the society and the people. Hence, we need to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah in the masses.

In fulfilling the purpose of creation, there is mutual work between those who are regarded as “Israel” (striving to the Creator) and the rest of humanity. Israel is a small group (in quantity) of souls wherein spiritual sparks, the aspiration to the revelation of the Creator, unfold.

First, this group of souls has to realize their yearning for spirituality unwillingly, and after that, through their conscious free will, by way of faith above reason. “Israel,” the speaking level of the will to receive, affects all other souls existing at the animate, vegetative, and still levels of desire by way of the Light of knowledge, understanding, and strength, which is channeled to them through “Israel.” In response, “Israel” receives a reaction: from the still to vegetative, from the vegetative to animate, and from the animate to speaking levels (Israel), thereby joining everybody to the process of correction.

As Baal HaSulam writes, the rest of the nations of the world also make a decision by pushing themselves toward the good; they also have free will, but only after “Israel” affects them. As a result, the revelation of the Messiah, the universal Upper Light that Reforms, will occur. Messiah, if translated from Hebrew, means a force that pulls a person from his egoism.

Circulation of the wisdom of Kabbalah around the world is regarded as the “voice (calling, horn) of the Messiah.” The universal force pulling everyone toward spiritual ascension, which will be revealed in all of mankind is called “Messiah.”

Messiah doesn’t come to “Israel” since they must perform the correction themselves. Messiah becomes revealed specifically in the entire world and solely when Israel (those who received the aspiration to their individual correction) start to serve the entire humanity, being already relatively corrected in the degree that they are able to bestow to the world.

Hence, if we speak of the times of the Messiah, we say that this group, “Israel,” has to already be corrected, and in the measure of its own correction it may begin correcting the world. And the awakening of the world is regarded as “Messiah.”

Question: How do we find a correct balance between Kabbalah circulation and inner work in the group?

Answer: These are two opposite lines of work, which at the same time support each other. On one hand, we need to connect in the group as cohesively as possible, be exclusive, and follow the group’s statute written by the Kabbalists, the rules and laws described by Rabash. Inside the group, everyone must comply with the rules. On the other hand, we need to be absolutely free and open to the outside world and explain everything in the most simple and delicate manner.

We need to connect as strongly as possible and preserve ourselves so as to advance by a narrow, straight line toward the goal! This is the work "in a line." And regarding the outside world, we are a circle: There are no differences or limits, no top or bottom; everyone is equal. Take what you want, without any pressure.

These are two contradictory approaches, and we need to be aware of them.
