Question: When one is looking at what is happening in the world it is hard to draw conclusions about the roots of anti-Semitism, about the role of the people of Israel and their task that they are not fulfilling. Does it turn out that we should address all accusations only to ourselves or to those who already study the Wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: Accusations are directed precisely at us. We are obliged to bring the nation of Israel and the nations of the world to the understanding of what is happening. We are facing the manifestation of nature that is intended to initiate the correction of the entire world. As we see it today the world requires correction. This is why we have to explain to people how today’s problems are connected with the hatred toward Jews. All of these can already be revealed and corrected.

Today the nations are still not making the differentiation, but in the end, certainly, all accusations will be turned solely at us, at the worldwide Bnei Baruch association. After all, we are the source of the connection, the point of connection between the Creator and the creatures. We are the “bottleneck,” which does not pass the Light to the world. This is why we will be guilty in the eyes of the people. Subconsciously everyone will feel this way. In their view we will become the ultimate “sinners,” the “Pharaoh” enslaving them.

This is the property of the flipped pyramid.

Question: Why do I find it so easy to speak about the wisdom of Kabbalah as it happens as if by itself, but when I begin to tell people about mutual guarantee, it becomes so hard and I have to think carefully and make great efforts?

Answer: That’s great! Now you are discovering that when you speak about the wisdom of Kabbalah, you use words that are meaningless for you, about a world that you don’t feel yet. But if you begin to speak using this world’s language, about mutual guarantee, hate, closeness, alienation, and connection, you already begin to bring in strong emotions and then you understand how far away you are from these concepts.

Indeed, it really gets hard to speak about it because as long as you are using the language of Kabbalah, everything comes out very smoothly: Reshimot, Partzufim, Masachim (screens) that rise and descend from one place to another, restriction, Returning Light, Direct Light… it all seems to be great. You play with the words like a juggler in a circus juggling balls, but in the meantime, these are just words.

When you begin to tie the words to your feelings and don’t use the language of Kabbalah, but rather this world’s language, you discover how foreign it is to your heart. This is why it becomes so difficult.

We have to start using words that are closer to the heart, and then you will understand to what extent the heart doesn’t agree with them. Get your heart used to them gradually, bit by bit. This is what is happening to us now; we are advancing correctly.

We will advance at the pace the world opens up to us without forcing it, but simply by using the opportunities given to us: connecting different organizations, giving out brochures and leaflets, disseminating materials through the Internet, giving lectures, etc. Then we will see how the road opens up for us.

At the moment, we don’t understand to what extent our advancement depends on the advancement of the world. This will be revealed gradually and we will feel our obligation towards the world. The baby is given to its parents, not in order to make them happy and to have something to play with, but so that they will take care of him and worry about him all the time. This responsibility also becomes enjoyable and fun since love changes from a great responsibility to a desired privilege.

We have begun a new era and the world wants to advance, but doesn’t know to where, and so its despair grows from day to day, and we feel its helplessness. This helps us advance. Actually Kabbalists in the past had much more difficult times when they didn’t see any changes in the world and no results of their work. We, however, were given this very special opportunity.

A married couple that has no children suffers greatly. Sometimes the connection between the two becomes so tight that they decide to live for it, but in fact, only children turn a couple into a family.

So if we worry about the world, we will become the parents that have a baby and it will tighten the connections among us. It will bring us success in everything we yearn for.

In order to do that, we have to study and improve our method. Everyone must become a lecturer, a teacher, or an organizer and thus we will advance. If we don’t worry about people, then there is no way we will advance. The Creator doesn’t need our advancement by itself, it is the desires of the seven billion that He needs, and so we have to work for them.

Question: For us the environment is the group, the books, and the teacher. What is the right environment for the general population?

Answer: We are. A good environment is the level that is higher than me. If I turn to the environment from below (1) and value the friends by seeing them as greater than me (2), I receive the right impression from them (3).

Today the upper level for us is the teacher, the group, and the study. For the “nations of the world” it is us, the Bnei Baruch organization, in other words, mutual guarantee.

On the whole, there are three levels: the nations of the world (99%), us (1%), and the upper level, which is the Creator. So it turns out that our role is to be the link: We work in order to be incorporated in the Creator and to find a connection with Him on the one hand, and on the other hand, in order to help the world. Thus Bina is also divided into two parts: the three upper Sefirot (GAR) and the seven lower Sefirot (ZAT).

Question: How can 1% become the environment for the 99%?

Answer: The 1% is much stronger than the 99% because it is higher in its quality. It says: “A righteous is the foundation of the world.”

Similarly the vegetative level in nature is above all the inanimate matter in the universe, and the animate level is higher than the vegetative. It is a pyramid: No matter how large the herd is, it will follow one shepherd. Mass has nothing to do with the active force in reality; billions of people are a very weak level. They have no power, are confused, and are only willing to argue, quarrel, and destroy the world; they have already exhausted all their creativity.

Therefore it says: “You are the fewest of all the nations.” A few thousand are enough for the world and even less in order to manage the world. What is more, the global media were actually prepared precisely for that.

On the whole a certain plan was prepared from Above and we have to do our job and to be sure that if we do it correctly the whole world will be fine.

My Comment: There are no suicides in Africa although people die from hunger there; however, Scandinavia has the highest suicide rate. This suggests that employment or income cannot explain depression: It comes from inner emptiness, from the new level of revealed desires that cannot be satisfied in our world. They can be satisfied only by corresponding fulfillment—the feeling of the next level of existence. Humanity is in search of Kabbalistic knowledge, knowledge about the true picture of the world in which we live that gives us an answer about the meaning of life, and no income can shut up that void. And poverty is just a catalyst.

Baal HaSulam, “Messiah’s Shofar“: And the dissemination of the wisdom in the masses is called “a Shofar.” Like the Shofar (horn) whose voice travels a great distance, the echo of the wisdom will spread all over the world, so even the nations will hear and acknowledge that there is Godly wisdom in Israel.

The whole world should understand that the People of Israel know how to contact the upper force inherent in nature that can unite us, help get us out of the current situation, and help us rise above the crisis. This is called “the dissemination of the wisdom throughout the world.”

In the meantime we don’t speak about this because the masses aren’t interested in it. When we work with the general population we try to explain and tell them how to connect without mentioning the wisdom of Kabbalah, but through other means. We present the method to children and to grownups by showing them different ways to connect based on actual problems and facts, and try to convince people that connection and unity are really the solution to the problems.

But this is only the first part of the way since we don’t present them with the whole truth. The process should be gradual so that the truth won’t turn into unripe fruit, so that the wisdom of Kabbalah will not be revealed before they feel a need for it.

Thanks to our dissemination efforts, people will begin to understand that we have a special method that they don’t have—a method that provides the power to unite and to solve their problems. They will understand beyond any doubt that we can organize work so that it will lead to the desired results and that they won’t fall into a “bottomless pit,” as with all other attempts in our world.

People will understand that there is something new and special here, and they will want to find out what it is. Then they will be ready for the wisdom of Kabbalah. We are not concealing our study, but only when they want to join the wisdom of Kabbalah in order to attain the upper force, will we be able to reveal it to the whole world.

Today we are already bringing the masses closer to us, so that in the future when they want to advance, they will discover and learn more and more. The Creator’s desire is to be revealed in every person according to his being part of the general system.

Baal HaSulam, “Messiah’s Shofar”: And because of that, Rashbi permitted himself and disclosed the wisdom of the hidden in his books, The Zohar and the Tikkunim. However, it was with great care, since he only permitted Rabbi Abba, who could disclose with intimation, so only the sages of the children of Israel would understand, and the sages of the nations would not understand.

The reason for that is that if people driven by egoism find something in this wisdom, they will not be able to advance. In another article, Baal HaSulam brings the example of an unripe fruit that can harm a person. Answers that are received without exertion, without self-advancement, only block a person’s way.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is revealed gradually, so that a person would understand more according to his internal spiritual growth, and thus advance. However, if he received the answers in advance, without growing and developing a vessel, it would stop him and not allow him to advance. Then he wouldn’t need to change and to acquire new attributes, and it would prevent him from discovering the way to the spiritual world by himself.

This is why Kabbalists took great care not to reveal things that people are not yet able to understand. The wisdom is acquired according to a person’s readiness. We study in order to summon the Light that Reforms, and when it corrects us, we begin to understand and to feel the material that we study.

The process is as follows: We connect in a group of about ten people, and then by the power of our unity we can raise MAN to the upper force. As an answer, we receive the Light that Reforms, which means the Surrounding Light (Ohr Makif – OM). This is what changes us, meaning, truly unites us (∑) and corrects us, and thanks to this correction we discover the upper world in our corrected attributes.

So these are the stages of the process:

1. We unite
2. We raise MAN for correction
3. The Surrounding Light corrects us
4. We discover the upper reality.

If we don’t perform the two initial steps, connecting and raising MAN, then nothing happens. Therefore, Kabbalists wrote their books in stages, according to our advancement in our study. When we read it for the first time, we discover our ego. Then we understand that there is only one choice, to rise to unity (∑), and then we discover that it isn’t enough either and that we have to raise MAN. If we do that then the Upper Light, the Surrounding Light (OM) completes the work.

The Kabbalistic books are revealed to us according to these stages, and it is all by the study. In the first stage, I discover the evil, in the second stage, I see that I cannot do anything and that I have to connect with the friends, and in the third stage, I understand that we will not manage without a request that the Light will connect us because we cannot do it by ourselves. Then the Light comes and completes the work. The first half of the work is our responsibility and the second half is fulfilled from Above and it is called “the work of the Creator.”

In the article “Matan Torah (The Giving of the Torah),” Baal HaSulam tells us under what conditions the Torah was given to people. First, it must be a group of people who want to be as one man in one heart. The sufferings they have been through leave them no choice and they see that they must escape, but they must escape consciously. It isn’t a blind escape from pain, because the sufferings come from a special force, from the Creator, according to His plan, and within it there is a specific goal.

The Creator brought about the sufferings on purpose. It says “I have created the evil inclination,” which means I have created Pharaoh who brings the children of Israel closer to the Creator. The evil inclination is called “help against,” since it evokes and pushes a person to know the force that manages him. A person asks himself: “Where does all this evil come from? Why am I suffering?” Eventually the searching brings him to the main question: “What is the meaning of my life?” And further: “What is the meaning of life?” Then a person reaches the wisdom of Kabbalah.

So he comes to receive the Torah and begins to understand that there is a need to change something. Instead of changing the world by trying to “bend” it by himself, a person understands that the world is a replica of his internal attributes. Change yourself and the world will change.

This is what we say to everyone: We should correct the person and not the world. Of course, we don’t talk about the perception of reality, about the fact that the external picture is determined by our internality. This cannot be explained at the moment, although there is already some scientific evidence for that. On the whole, a person already understands that today he has to correct himself. Then he is ready to receive the Torah as a spice “to spice” the evil inclination by this method so that it will taste good.

Eventually we have to put the form of bestowal on the original desire to receive. If a person is ready for that, he receives the Torah, meaning the method of correction, and begins to work. Then he understands the essence of the condition that he was given: what mutual guarantee means, what general unity is, and what the final goal of “Love thy friend as thyself” symbolizes. On the way to reaching this goal, a person discovers his mission, which is defined as “a kingdom of priests” and a “holy nation.” In other words, he has to fulfill what it says not only regarding himself, but also being responsible for the whole world. By judging oneself and the whole world to a scale of merit, a person applies his potential correctly for the good of others by doing what he has to do, which means to disseminate the method of correction all over the world.

Then he corrects himself, since he has no need for anything but that. It is enough to live by working for the general correction, which is called “a kingdom of priests.” Priests have no corporeal estate, “God is their estate,” which means the pure level of Bina. A person should also see himself on this sublime level where the good of others is his only concern above all the other concerns, and the only goal above all the other goals. Although different unwanted desires come up and although the interruptions are global, it is all so that above them he can be responsible for the whole world. Otherwise he will have nothing to work on.

By fulfilling the mission of a “kingdom of priests” and “a holy nation,” a person fulfills the idea of mutual guarantee. The point isn’t that we will be responsible for each other and hold on to each other on the way to correction. No, we are advancing towards mutual guarantee with the whole world, we are responsible for everyone, and unless we correct them, our work cannot be complete.

Question: There is news from Europe about the growing economic crisis. There are talks about establishing new governing authorities. Is this “and there was a new king in Egypt” what the Torah tells us about?

Answer: The problem isn’t the politicians. It says, “The hearts of ministers and kings are in God’s hand.” The weathervane shows us the direction of the wind and only we can change its direction—the world Bnei Baruch group that works very hard experiencing descents and ascents.

Question: What would we like to happen in Europe?

Answer: We would want for them as for the whole world to recognize evil in an easy way. After seeing and reaching the recognition of evil, people will also see the direction to goodness.

Therefore we have to disseminate as widely as possible the message about the real reason for all the troubles in the world and about how to correct the situation. The world is actually in the state of the recognition of evil, and how exactly this will happen depends on our work. We are the middlemen who can direct humanity to the good way or to the bad one, or to something in between.

No one can imagine what disasters may be expected. The crisis indicates that it isn’t just a collapse but the global integral system that is clearly revealed opposite the egoistic system. The circles are opposed to the straight line, and the link between them is missing. On the whole, humanity will not be able to sustain itself—everything is in abundance, but there is no food. This is already a spiritual problem.

Now there is everything in abundance and enough for everyone, but look at what is happening in the world—disparities between people, inequality, and suicides. Every few seconds a child dies of hunger. This doesn’t happen among animals, but it does with humans.

Humanity desperately needs the revelation of evil, but in a good way. I hope that we will lead the world in this direction. Otherwise “blind fate” will send us such disasters and blows, which stem from the Lights and the vessels facing each other. When there is no “adaptor” between them, it leads to war and destruction. It is scary to even think about such events, especially if we are responsible for them.

We shouldn’t wait. We should start connecting as soon as we can.

Baal HaSulam says in the “Writings of the Future Generation“: “I have already expressed my views in 1933, I have also spoken with the leaders of the generation and my words were not accepted by them, although I screamed and warned them about the destruction of the world, it didn’t leave much of an impression. But now, after the atomic and the hydrogen bomb I think that the world will believe me, that the end of the world is very near. Israel will be the first to get hurt, as it was in the previous war. Therefore, it is better to spur the world so that they will receive the only medicine and thus shall live and exist.”

This is our work. Only we can change the news.
