Question: What becomes corrected in the connection with the neighbor, by the fact that I now love him, but literally a second later I already hate him?

Answer: Inside the connection with the neighbor, this world—the world of separation and its perception—is annihilated. I, who am an egoist, and this world that divides us vanish from my consciousness and sensation when I reach the right connection with the neighbor.

After all, the world is your sensation when you feel only your self. If instead of this you start to feel the neighbor more, then this world gradually disappears. Instead of it, you begin to feel the Upper World.

Question: What is our reality like in the worlds of BYA (Beria, Yetzira, Assiya), when we ascend along the degrees of these worlds to the world of Atzilut?

Answer: Presently I perceive everything in my desire which is entirely egoistic, aimed only at self-gratification, and disconnected from all the spiritual forces and the Creator. I have no spark of bestowal and live the life of a beast. Such a state is called “this world.”

When I begin to scrutinize which of my desires I can elevate to correction, it means I am in the worlds of BYA. That is, I can annul myself before the group, receive the strength of my friends, unify with them to some degree, and achieve the mutual guarantee, unity, and wholeness like one man with one heart.

To the extent I am able to do this, I rise to Malchut of the world of Atzilut. Elevating my desire, changing it for the better, means that I ascend. I connect to Malchut together with everybody and then in our collective desire (Kli) called Shechina where we are all united together as one man with one heart, we receive the revelation of spirituality, the Creator.

It follows that the worlds of BYA are states in which I scrutinize myself while studying and working in the group where I have the opportunity to connect with the friends to at least some small extent.

The difference between the worlds of BYA is the degree of our connection according to which we can elevate our pleas to Malchut of Infinity and achieve correction. But we always remain in the worlds of BYA, only we bring about their ascent, together with us, to the world of Atzilut.

Question: I heard you say numerous times that everything that brings me hardships, offends or hurts me is essentially within me. How do I begin to feel and comprehend this?

Answer: When a true reality becomes revealed to me, I realize that I perceive everything within, and there is nothing on the outside. A notion of “outside of me” does not exist at all since everything occurs in my sensations, in my perception. And an apparent reality that I currently observe: the spaciousness of this world, the endless Universe, the Earth with its numerous details, all of it I perceive within. Hence, as I correct my general egoistic desire, this entire picture changes.

However, we don’t feel this in our world because we perceive reality in the desire that doesn’t change qualitatively: It only becomes bigger or smaller. Yet, if we transformed its main property, absorption into itself, into bestowal, we would feel our previous perception from aside and could judge what’s going on correctly.

It’s not simple. This is hard to grasp and impossible to feel. The switch occurs suddenly, only due to the Upper Light that gradually, drop by drop, acts upon us.

In addition to his or her regular qualities (Kelim), a person acquires new ones. This world does not disappear, but beside it, he perceives an additional reality, its other part. Only then does he understand where he is situated and truly senses that our world is a mere illusion.

Question: Suppose that we have already reached the state where all seven billion people in the world study and actualize Kabbalah. Now a child is born into this world. What happens to him? Will he have to understand the meaning of evil in order to reach good? But by that time the world will already be corrected, so how will he feel evil?

Answer: In this world there is only a renewal of physical bodies, but not souls. Therefore, the children being born today are old souls that acquire new bodies. That’s why we don’t pay attention to a person’s age. Regardless of whether a physical body has died or has been born to live in this world, the soul continues its reincarnations.

You’re asking: If all the people correct their egos, will it be necessary for more people to be born? No, the souls will no longer need to be born. However, we won’t live forever biologically. We will begin to feel how our world changes, gradually acquiring the qualities of the upper world.

To the degree each of us and all of us together are corrected in the single system, our perception of the world changes as well. When we ascend from the first level of the spiritual world to the second and then the third, we go from one world to the next. And when we attain the state of full correction in the common interconnection, our world will be destroyed.

It is written, “Six thousand years of concealment and one year of destruction.” It will be the seventh millennium. “The world will be destroyed” means that this world will disappear from our sensation because we perceive it in our common egoism. As soon as our egoism turns to bestowal and love, then instead of it we will feel the upper world.

The Kabbalistic method is built on group work, on the connection between us, on the aspiration for all of us to gather together, to collect all the common forces, and with our mutual efforts to help every person come out of himself to others. In reality the method is very realistic and simple. In order to perceive the upper world, we have to stop paying attention to the “atoms” of our bodies and switch our attention to the emptiness in the “interatomic space.” We can do this in human society or in a small group that allows us to change ourselves.

We have to get together, mutually helping each other, and start shifting our attention from ourselves to what is between us. The work is unpleasant, unclear, and very unnatural for us. But that is why Kabbalists wrote an enormous amount of materials. By applying the Kabbalistic method to ourselves, we add to it, complete it, and materialize it. We begin to accept and feel it inside. As a whole we adapt it to us and to real time, and implement it in the present.

Therefore, we carry it out and research it, as well as develop the phase of the practical realization of all of Nature. Today the method is applied on us, those who desire to complement our sensation of the universe with an additional, external part. Moreover, this is not simply an additional part, but the most important part. We begin feeling forces, phenomena, and actions in interatomic space, meaning in 99% of reality. First and foremost this enormous volume is filled by a thought, a plan, forces, and their interactions, and everything that activates us, who are tiny, microscopic parts.

This attainment of the root leads us out of the state of time, lack of vision, and submission, in essence a state of non-being, to a state of clarity, eternity, and perfection. That is what the right realization of the science of Kabbalah gives us.

All of this is realized in the group, where we begin to feel how to come to the outside, to the perception of others. We go from the sensation of “the world inside me” to the sensation of “the world in the world.” If there are billions of people or souls instead of me, then by coming out of myself I begin perceiving the forces that act between us, and I feel all the souls as one whole, as one closed system.

Today even on the material level something is already telling us that the world is global and integral, and everything in it is interconnected. Thus, I begin to perceive everything on the outside as myself. I thereby acquire a great desire, force, and fulfillment, which is at my disposal. All of this becomes my “self.” These are no longer people, but simply forces that exist in this form.

That is how a person starts to reveal the true volume and vision of the world.

When we come out into the external world, we discover the general force that includes both bestowal and reception. It is the source of everything taking place and it fills everything. It is the force of reason, thought, and plan; the general force of Nature.

We call it “the Creator” because we discover that in relation to us it is the creator. However, we are still talking about an all-inclusive force, which includes all other forces.

By studying it, we study its constituent parts—the laws of Nature, spiritual laws of the nature of bestowal which are above our regular, earthly state. At the same time we begin to understand how our earthly being is built, seeing the source of the laws operating in our world.

As a result, a person understands why he exists and how to come out of different situations that he has gotten himself into with his one-sided vision of the world. He starts rebuilding himself and the surrounding society, and it doesn’t happen coercively, but voluntarily. When revealing the true laws of nature, a person naturally acts differently. Coming from the same egoism, he understands that he cannot act otherwise.

Today we automatically act with the greatest self-benefit in mind. And later on we will also automatically act the same way, but with a consideration for the general part: that we depend on each other and are one whole. We will see the entire picture, the entire global, closed system and will therefore act completely differently.

The most important thing is for us to discover this general picture; then we naturally won’t make mistakes. This is what Kabbalah is leading us toward.

To the degree we develop, we gradually reveal our egoistic nature. However, overall we have already assimilated it, having exhausted all the egoistic instruments for attaining the world through science and technology, as well as in the human community and familial relationships. We see that we have reached a dead-end.

That is when a real need for additional knowledge arises. Today we are at the edge, the transition to feeling the next part of the universe. It is already here, between us. Sometimes we call it a different dimension because what matters is how you measure things: When you change your point of view, you see completely different phenomena in the same volume.

That is how we discover a new world.

Speaking of the Creator’s attitude to us, we use our lexicon and say that He is “merciful,” “angry,” and so on. Naturally, all of this exists only relative to us.

We don’t merit any transformations by the Creator. But to the extent that we ourselves change in relation to the unconditional, unchangeable, and ever-constant active law of “Good Who does Good,” we merit a reciprocal reaction.

I would be able to predict what this reaction will be if I were familiar with all the inner parameters of my soul, with the entire system and its conditions. Obviously, it is challenging to know everything. As pertains to us, however, the Creator doesn’t change. The force that fills all of nature and sustains all creation’s existence always treats us with absolute love, as the “Good Who does Good”; on its part, there aren’t any changes.

We ourselves trigger all reactions according to how much we change in relation to this law, how developed and similar to it we already have to be, and how capable or not we are to accomplish this. Besides, it depends on our collective influence of one person on all and all on one. This is what we are now discovering in our global world.

Yet we say that the Creator treats us well or badly, sometimes this way, other times another; we feel that there are good and bad times, holidays and so on. But none of it exists. All of this is defined by how a person attains. If I didn’t labor, I wouldn’t come to the state of correction since I didn’t reach this degree.

But why is it then that times still change while I don’t? It is so because I am linked with all other systems, other souls, and everybody must advance. Hence, the Reshimot (spiritual information genes) constantly unfold. If we actualize them correctly, we feel good, and if not, they get actualized by way of suffering, and we feel the evil. But only Reshimot emerge, while the Light that works on them is constant.

Also, the Light that we regard as “the Light that Reforms” or “the Surrounding Light” doesn’t change either. We are still in the same unchangeable system. But I aspire to the Light, and it affects me to the degree of my yearning. If I don’t, it doesn’t work on me. There is nothing that will change without my desire. And only relative to this desire do I experience transformation.

Our earthly existence has practically exhausted itself. What once seemed valuable to us is losing its previous charm. All the different pleasures related to food, sex, family, wealth, fame, power, and knowledge no longer satisfy us and can no longer serve as the goal. Even while being fulfilled by them, we still feel empty inside.

That is why today we are facing a very serious challenge from Nature, which is showing us that we completely don’t understand where we are. After all, the entire volume of the universe is there, in front of us, but we only perceive a microscopic part of it.

In reality all of matter is emptiness. Matter consists of atoms and every atom consists of a nucleus and electrons. But if you zoom in on the atom so the nucleus is the size of a small coin, then the distance between it and the electrons would be equal to an entire kilometer! An atom is like a solar system where the planets (electrons) rotate around the sun (nucleus), while everything else is emptiness. Moreover, it’s not like cosmic emptiness which nevertheless contains particles of matter, but it is total emptiness.

Thus, overall in relation to us, matter consists of emptiness. But we can look at it differently: It isn’t emptiness, but filled space, and we just don’t feel the filling. However, the filling is the most important part. It is the invisible filling between the nucleus and the electrons, or between all of us. It’s not the material parts that are important, but what is between them.

We will be able to feel it only if instead of perceiving the surrounding nature as an object for egoistic reception, we will feel it through the opposite quality, bestowal.

Nature consists of two qualities: reception and bestowal. All of it is sustained upon the balance between them. But we—all of us together and each of us individually—are receiving elements that aim to fulfill ourselves. We use only the five senses or our small “reservoir,” the receiving desire, which is why we only perceive a small volume, a very limited piece of the existing world, qualitatively speaking.

That is where the science of Kabbalah comes to the rescue, being a science of reception, of perceiving the true state. The gist of this science is to develop the opposite quality in a person: instead of reception, to develop the feeling of bestowal. Then you come out of yourself, out of your inner, closed volume, and start to feel the world outside of you and outside of the dependence on yourself.

In the previous emptiness, inside of its infinite reaches, where matter has a minimal share, you will suddenly discover a volume filled by the force of bestowal —a different, external world. It is absolutely connected with our world, complementing it, being its root and source.

That is when we will begin to understand why we exist, where everything originated, and how it operates. Instead of a measly grain that has no beginning or end, we will see the general, closed picture of the whole universe and it will tell us about the causes and goals, and about what happens to us.

The problem with feeling the spiritual world, meaning the total volume in which we exist today, is the problem of its perception. Now we are also inside this volume, along with our nature, which is still concealed from us. However, we feel only a small part of it with our earthly, bodily senses.

We have to attune ourselves so we would feel not only what enters our small egoistic desire. After all, it’s enough for egoism to desire something and we suddenly perceive what we did not notice earlier.

For example, when I start a new job, I start working with new materials and new phenomena, and some time later I start to feel what I am working with. We are attuning ourselves to a finer perception, creating inner models of phenomena and objects that we are dealing with. For example, a metalworker feels a metal by its sound and by the motion of the chisel. Likewise, people connected to nature understand it through signs that we are unfamiliar with.

We are created so that the surrounding world is depicted for us in a three-dimensional coordinate system. But is this really so? Other creatures perceive the world in a completely different way: through smells, temperature waves, ultrasound waves, and so on. However, no matter how much we expand the range of perception in this world, we always come across the same restriction: ourselves, our capability to receive or absorb inside.

In this way we limit our perception and do not feel the huge world that is around us. Gradually we begin coming closer to understanding these phenomena, or at least to the sensation that this is really so. However, it is difficult for us to cope with this and to work with this difficult problem because that is how our bodies are built.

Thus, as a result of our earthly development, it becomes clear to us that we are simply blind. We do not see where we are or how to live. This brings us to feel enormous suffering, which accumulates more and more. On one hand we develop, while on the other hand we do not know where and how, or what to do with ourselves.

As a result it becomes simply necessary for us to break down the barrier separating us from the real world. It is necessary for us to understand it because we cannot continue to exist this way. We already see that there is a certain psychological barrier here. Whether it is inside us or outside of us, we have to overcome it.

Today, we have to admit that all of us—humanity, the still, vegetative, animate nature, and the Creator—are parts of a single system. The more we correspond with this system, the better our condition will be. If, however, we don’t agree or can’t harmonize ourselves with it to the degree that matches the level of our development, in that same degree we will experience suffering, including our demise.

In fact, we exist in one integral system that becomes revealed to us more and more. The system per se is constant; however, since our egoism is evolving, we perceive its previously hidden forms. We think that it is nature which changes, while it is we who do. It is as if we are looking out the train window: It is not the platform but the train that is moving.

Until recently, we have been evolving at the levels of still, vegetative, and animate nature, and have not sensed our opposition to nature. These were my inner desires that have been developing (Shoresh, Neshama, and Guf), and everything was aimed at satisfying my egoistic needs.

But now these desires were joined by two additional types of desire that I sense as external: “garments” (Levush) and “palace” (Eichal). I have to accept them as my own internal desires, which means I have to accept that the whole world is mine, that it is I, while I only perceive it as existing outside of me.

So it follows that this entire world, the universe, all of nature, belongs to me, doesn’t it? And it is my responsibility to take care of it all, as I do for myself, isn’t it? So, I shouldn’t use it for my own benefit, but specifically in order to take care of it “as I do for myself” since all of it eventually unfolds as my integral part?

This is what we call a new global world. “Garments” and “palace” (Aviut 3 and 4 of my desires) that I viewed as external become internal in my perception and unfold as my own desires, while I, due to my egoistic nature (in my GE, Aviut 0,1,2), reject them, see them as outside of me, and therefore damage them, thereby doing harm to myself.

And when I begin attaching them to myself, I will be able to feel the upper reality in them. It’s because the reality felt in the “garments” and “palace” that become my parts will turn out to be the spiritual world. In other words, I have to attach all of nature to myself and feel within everything there is, to the very last atom! After all, the universe is the world of Infinity that will be revealed to me when I feel that everything around me is mine.

That is how I am going to perceive it. Instead of the material world that unfolds in my egoistic desires, I will start experiencing the spiritual one.
