The Wisdom of Kabbalah and Philosophy

Sages of Kabbalah observe philosophic theology and complain that they have stolen the upper shell [external general concepts] of their wisdom, which Plato and his Greek predecessors had acquired [adopted and modified through human egoistic intellect] while [superficially, without delving into the essence] studying with the disciples of the prophets in Israel.

They have stolen basic elements from the wisdom of Israel [as later on other religions have stolen major principles of Kabbalah] and wore a cloak that is not their own [religions dressed their commandments and properties into external prayers, customs, and traditions.]. To this day, philosophic theology sits on the throne of Kabbalah, being hair under her mistress [authentic universal wisdom].…

Kabbalah cannot prove its [superior] nature and truthfulness, and no revelations will suffice for the world to know it before the futility and falsehood of theological philosophy that has taken its throne becomes apparent [to the world]. [Because it is only through clarification of delusions of philosophical theology which are opposite to Kabbalah that humanity will get a chance to attain the essence of Kabbalah].

Therefore, there was no such salvation for Israel [meaning those who aspire to the Creator, Israel = “Isra-El” – straight to the Creator], as when the materialistic psychology [based solely on experience and scientific realistic research rather than conjectures] appeared and struck [with its sensible clarifications and facts] theological philosophy on its [invalid and imaginary] head a lethal blow.

The Reality Contained in the Wisdom of Kabbalah

The lower is studied from the Higher. Thus, one must first (even if one desires just to understand what happens in our lower world] attain the Upper Roots, the way they are in spirituality, above any imagination [by correcting one’s egoism to their level in the quality of bestowal], but with pure attainment [that is, through equivalence with them, by becoming equal in spiritual level to them].

And once he has thoroughly attained [with his new qualities] the Upper Roots [from where the whole governance descends to the branches of our world] with his own mind, he may examine [from the roots above] the tangible branches in this world and know how each branch relates to its root in the Upper World.

The Reality Contained in the Science of Kabbalah

Kabbalah uses only names and appellations that are concrete [attained in our senses and then examined in our mind] and real [revealed to us to the extent of our correction]. It is an unbending [absolute] rule for all Kabbalists that, “Anything we do not attain [clearly, in our corrected qualities], we do not [it is impossible to] define by a name and a word.” [It is because a name explains the quality of the object being attained, and that quality is attained to the degree of similarity to the object’s qualities, according to the law of equivalence of form: Only similarity is attained.]

Here you must know that the word “attainment” (Heb: Hasaga) implies the ultimate degree of understanding. It derives from the phrase, “that thy hand shall reach” (Heb: Ki Tasig Yadcha). That means that before something becomes utterly lucid, as though gripped in one’s hand, Kabbalists do not consider it attained, but understood, comprehended, and so on.

I have already written in several places that there is not a single word of our sages, not even in the prophetic wisdom of Kabbalah, that relies [exclusively] on theoretical bases [are based on reflection detached from matter]. This is because [everything comes only from one’s personal practical attainment based on sensation and one’s investigation].

Life [sensing one’s own existence] of any spiritual object is determined by the measure of its attainment [of the Creator, the property of bestowal and love, that is, connection with the whole universe].

All the Teachings in the World Are Included in the Wisdom of Kabbalah

They have no scientific solution as to how a spiritual object can have any contact with physical atoms to bring them into any kind of motion. All their wisdom did not help them find a bridge on which to cross that wide and deep crevice that spreads between the spiritual entity and the corporeal atom. Thus, science has gained nothing from all these metaphysical methods.

To move a step forward in a scientific manner here, all we need is the wisdom of Kabbalah. This is because all the teachings in the world are included in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

[While Kabbalah explains everything, it is only for the one who is ready to apply it in practice. This is because only when a person transforms his egoistic properties into altruistic ones, can he realize that the entirety of reality exists only subjectively in his perception, and that his properties define it completely. The whole of reality is the perception of his properties in comparison to the properties of the Upper Light.]

Since the whole of the wisdom of Kabbalah speaks of the revelation of the Creator [the reason for the Creator’s concealment], naturally, there is nothing more successful teaching for its task. [The whole of reality is the Creator. The present reality is His concealment. The only real action is revelation of Him.]

However, understanding the meaning of the word, “spirituality,” [sensed in the property of bestowal and love] has nothing to do with philosophy. This is because how can they discuss something that they have never seen or felt? [After all, they do not have a goal to be corrected and do not research the new reality in the corrected properties.] What do their rudiments [about the attainment of the Upper World, the Creator] stand on?

If there is any definition that can tell spiritual from corporeal, it belongs only to those who have attained a spiritual thing and felt it. These are [only] the genuine Kabbalists; [this is because they are the only ones who are engaged in self-correction and after that, they sense and research the Upper World according to their similarity to it] thus, it is the wisdom of Kabbalah that we need.

All the Teachings in the World Are Included in the Wisdom of Kabbalah

Now it is clear that as the emergence of the living species in this world and the conduct of their lives are a wondrous wisdom, the appearance of the Divine Abundance in the world, the degrees and the conduct of their actions unite to create a wondrous wisdom, far more than the science of physics.

This is so because physics is mere knowledge of the arrangements of a particular kind existing in a particular world. It is unique to its subject, and no other wisdom is included in it. [Physics or any other science deals with the patterns we reveal on the lower, egoistic level, meaning in the egoism of our world and its properties as opposed to the property of the Upper Light that is revealed in our world.]

This is not so with the wisdom of truth, since it is knowledge of the whole of the still, vegetative, animate, and speaking in all the worlds with all their instances and conducts, as they were included in the Creator’s Thought, that is, in the purpose. For this reason, all the teachings in the world, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, are wondrously included in it, as it equalizes all the different teachings, the most different and the most remote from one another, as remote as is the east from the west. It makes them all equal, meaning the orders of each teaching are compelled to come by its ways.

[Kabbalah brings all sciences to a single foundation: the study of the created desire to receive with the intention either for oneself or for the Creator, in comparison to the Upper Light, the Creator.]

[Kabbalah is based on the attainment of one initial force which is the source of all the forces and qualities that flow out of it. Therefore, Kabbalah is the source of the sciences that examines these secondary forces and qualities.]

What Is The Basis Of The Wisdom Of Kabbalah?

A person must learn the wisdom: to attain and look into the Creator’s secrets [which are not yet revealed to him] in order to know himself, to understand who he is, how he was created, where he came from, where he is going, how to correct his body [desires], and how in the future he will stand before the court of the Ruler of the world.

One must attain and see the secret of the soul: what is his soul, where did it come from, why did it descend into this body, similar to a foul-smelling drop that is here today and in the grave tomorrow. He must look into this world in order to attain the world he is in and what he must correct in it. Then he will see the higher secrets of the Upper World and attain the Creator. A person will attain all of this from the secrets of the Torah.
