Open The Path To The Light

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Zohar, Chapter “Truma (Donation),” Item 585: One who clings to Malchut below the letters, she elevates him because from there she is built for a Zivug PBP [face-to-face] with ZA…for she is everything—included in all, from above, from below, and from the middle.

From this we see that we have nothing to worry about other than how to connect to Malchut. As we inject our desires into Malchut, parts of Malchut unite between themselves, and the first nine Sefirot begin to influence her.

Malchut is the points of connection between the souls in the common network that connects them all. Malchut is the connections between the souls. If we inject into these connections our desires, which we receive from one another, then these desires unite between themselves in Malchut. And to the extent that our common desires are present in them, the qualities of the first nine Sefirot, which are the qualities of the Creator or ZA, are manifested in them, and the Light is revealed in this connection.

Therefore, we must not worry about the first nine Sefirot, about Zeir Anpin and the other qualities of the Creator, but only about our desires so as to unite them. The more we talk about it, the more we are imbued with it, the more we hear and think about it, the more this new desire for unity takes shape within us. We understand that the world today is in need of this unity and is moving towards it, both in the spiritual and in the corporeal sense.

This is precisely what we must see in everything that surrounds us—all we lack is this unity. And it is the only means of correcting all the deficiencies.

A Game Of The Spiritual World

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: The daily lesson is divided into five parts. Should the intention be the same throughout?

Answer: Of course! That’s all there is since the entire Torah speaks only of the connection between us.

The first part of the lesson focuses on how we should relate to the connection between us and use it to reveal the general quality of bestowal: the Creator. It’s like an introduction before actualization, like having the rules of the game explained before it begins. That’s the first part of the lesson.

The second part of the lesson is the game itself. Here is where we should genuinely try to do the following:

  • To always think about the network of connection between us;
  • To always listen to what The Zohar speaks of;
  • To combine and to connect The Zohar’s text to the bond with the friends that you imagine so that the connection with the friends will assume the form that The Zohar describes.

Naturally, The Zohar speaks of the bond between us at very exalted degrees. But as we imagine ourselves at these exalted degrees, in those states, we will grow, as children do when they imagine themselves being adults, since the upper state described by The Zohar will influence us.

The Ladder Of Properties

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Book of Zohar, Chapter “Truma (Donation),” Item 503: “You shall make a table.” A table stands inside the tabernacle with a high blessing upon it, and food for the entire world coming out of it. This table need not be empty for even a minute, but food should be on it because there is no blessing on an empty place. For this reason, there must always be bread on it so that the high blessing is always in it. From that table, blessing and food go forth to all the tables in the world, which are blessed thanks to it.

The key during the reading of The Book of Zohar is to organize the system of values within oneself so that by every word, one would move along the ladder of properties and inner definitions, understanding that everything exists within one’s desire. This desire has multiple shades, and within them, one has to try to understand the study material. Then, as a result of these efforts, the Surrounding Light will come to him.

The Wisdom Will Not Be Forgotten From The World

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Book of Zohar, Chapter “Truma (Donation),” Item 422: But I am perplexed about the sages of the generation—how they let even one moment be without standing before Rabbi Shimon and studying Torah while Rabbi Shimon is in the world. But in this generation the wisdom will not be forgotten from the world. Woe unto the world when he departs, the sages grow fewer, and the wisdom is forgotten from the world.

This is not a reference to history. The generation of Rabbi Shimon is an exalted spiritual degree that one can connect to and consequently can receive from this great degree called “Rabbi Shimon.” “Rabbi Shimon” is not the name of an individual, but that of the source of Light of a particular degree (Arich Anpin of the world of Atzilut).

Therefore, one must take care not to lose one’s internal, constant aspiration to be connected to The Zohar—the very Light that exists at the degree called “Rabbi Shimon.” Then, to the extent of one’s approaching or distancing from this degree, one can gauge one’s advancement in or distancing from the spiritual work.
