The Earth Needs A Reduced Population

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Paul Ehrlich, Bing professor of population studies at Stanford University in California): “The optimum population of Earth – enough to guarantee the minimal physical ingredients of a decent life to everyone – was 1.5 to 2 billion people rather than the 7 billion who are alive today or the 9 billion expected in 2050, said Ehrlich in an interview with the Guardian.

“‘How many you support depends on lifestyles. We came up with 1.5 to 2 billion because you can have big active cities and wilderness. If you want a battery chicken world where everyone has minimum space and food and everyone is kept just about alive you might be able to support in the long term about 4 or 5 billion people. But you already have 7 billion. So we have to humanely and as rapidly as possible move to population shrinkage.’…

“But he agreed with the Royal Society report that said human population and consumption should not be divided. Source: Raw Story (http://s.tt/1daUI) ‘[They] multiply together. You have to be deal with them together. We have too much consumption among the rich and too little among the poor. That implies that terrible thing that we are going to have to do which is to somehow redistribute access to resources away the rich to the poor. But in the US we have been doing the opposite. The Republican party is wildly in favour of more redistribution, of taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich.’”

My Comment: The only help is to educate everyone in the spirit of unity and mutual guarantee, which will solve all the problems because people will develop a sense of social responsibility for the sake of revealing the Creator.

“US Compassion: Lost In Litigation?”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from RT): “Public outcry is growing in the US at emergency services’ seeming policy of standing by while houses burn down and people drown, if services have not been previously paid for.

“A spate of real-life incidents has sparked concern over what kind of society America is becoming.

“The recent series of shocking accidents forced homeowners in one of the counties to watch as their houses and possessions burned to the ground. And the firefighters were right there watching, as well.

“All because the owners didn’t pay the US$75 ‘fire subscription fee,’ known as the ‘pay for spray’ charge. …

“A similarly shocking incident occurred in California, where police and firemen watched a man drown, saying they didn’t have proper certifications for water rescue, which would leave them open to possible lawsuits if they attempted to save him.

“So as the tragedy unfolded for over an hour, authorities just stood there and did nothing.

Even after the surf brought Raymon Zach’s body closer to the shore, firefighters refused to get in the water and retrieve the corpse, so they waited until a passer-by volunteered to do the job.”

My Comment: Our ego is constantly growing, and these examples no longer surprise us. What more might there be if we don’t start correcting it through integral upbringing?

We Are Living Brains

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The New York Times): “Researchers have discovered that words describing motion also stimulate regions of the brain distinct from language-processing areas. In a study led by the cognitive scientist Véronique Boulenger, of the Laboratory of Language Dynamics in France, the brains of participants were scanned as they read sentences like ‘John grasped the object’ and ‘Pablo kicked the ball.’ The scans revealed activity in the motor cortex, which coordinates the body’s movements. What’s more, this activity was concentrated in one part of the motor cortex when the movement described was arm-related and in another part when the movement concerned the leg.

“The brain, it seems, does not make much of a distinction between reading about an experience and encountering it in real life; in each case, the same neurological regions are stimulated.”

My Comment: We exist as eternal creatures in the eternal space from which we sense fragments in accordance with our development. Kabbalah is designed to develop us to the full revelation of everything that exists. To the extent of development, we are changing the sense of self and the world around us, up to the sensation of everything existing in one whole object: all of infinity. We are currently going through a transition phase of perception of our dimension (three-dimensional, time-movement-place-the source of existence) to ten-dimensional (three lines, Tzimtzum Bet, etc) and then, at the end of correction, to infinity.

An Uncompromising Interview

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Christine Lagarde, head of the IMF, The Guardian): “‘I think more of the little kids from a school in a little village in Niger who get teaching two hours a day, sharing one chair for three of them, and who are very keen to get an education. I have them in my mind all the time. Because I think they need even more help than the people in Athens.’ …

“‘Do you know what? As far as Athens is concerned, I also think about all those people who are trying to escape tax all the time. All these people in Greece who are trying to escape tax.’…

“‘I think of them equally. And I think they should also help themselves collectively. ‘By all paying their tax. Yeah.’ …

“So when she studies the Greek balance sheet and demands measures she knows may mean women won’t have access to a midwife when they give birth, and patients won’t get life-saving drugs, and the elderly will die alone for lack of care – does she block all of that out and just look at the sums? …

“When history books are written about the financial crisis, they will say it began in 2008. What date will they give for its end? ‘Hmm, after the hyphen? After 2008? Two thousand,’ she says firmly. How odd, I think – her English is perfect, but she must have misunderstood the question. I ask again, but she is laughing. There was no misunderstanding.

“’Well, I’m sure about the first two digits: 20. But I’m not sure about the last two digits.’”

My Comment: It seems that alternating insecurity and expanding internal panic begin to penetrate all the levels of the world’s rulers. There is no way out, no future, the institutions they created are ineffective; nature revolts against man, and the exit of the crisis is delayed for many decades.

A Finale Is Approaching

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Robert Zoellick, The head of the World Bank): “Beware a rerun of the Great Panic of 2008:’ Head of World Bank warns Europe is heading for ‘danger zone’ as world markets suffer bleakest day of the year so far. …

“ Mr. Zoellick…said ‘it was ‘far from clear that eurozone leaders have steeled themselves’ for the looming catastrophe amid fears of a Greek exit from the single currency and meltdown in Spain.

“The flow of money into so-called ‘safe havens’ such as UK, German and US government debt turned into a stampede yesterday. …

“There was a raft of dismal economic news from around the world, with manufacturing output falling in Britain and Europe, unemployment jumping in the eurozone and America, and fast-emerging economies such as Brazil and China showing signs of running out of steam.”

My Comment: Well, we finally hear true statements, and not advertising. It’s no longer possible to hide the collapse of the consumption system. There is only one way out—to change it. But still no one is talking about the one and only solution. So, the crisis will continue until the stubborn people capitulate. Just how much misery, deprivation, and hunger will people suffer because of the short-sightedness and stubbornness of financiers?

Evolution Is Based On Cooperation Rather Than Competition

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Martin A. Nowak, Professor of Biology and of Mathematics at Harvard University and Director of Harvard’s Program for Evolutionary Dynamics): “Martin Nowak, one of the world’s experts on evolution and game theory…turns an important aspect of evolutionary theory on its head to explain why cooperation, not competition, has always been the key to the evolution of complexity. He offers a new explanation for the origin of life and a new theory for the origins of language, biology’s second greatest information revolution after the emergence of genes.”

My Comment: Recently, there is a surge of materials produced by scientists from various countries and areas of expertise about the revision of the driving force of evolution, about its original direction towards integrality. Just today, when this integrality reaches us, humanity, civilization, we began to pay attention to it because before that we had not been able to perceive the world as integral.

The Origin Of The Family

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis): “In early human evolution, when faithful females began to choose good providers as mates, pair-bonding replaced promiscuity, laying the foundation for the emergence of the institution of the modern family, a new study finds. …

“The study demonstrates mathematically that the most commonly proposed theories for the transition to human pair-bonding are not biologically feasible. However, the study advances a new model showing that the transition to pair-bonding can occur when female choice and faithfulness, among other factors, are included. The result is an increased emphasis on provisioning females over male competition for mating. …

“’Once females begin to show preference for being provisioned, the low-ranked males’ investment in female provisioning over male-to-male competition pays-off,’ Gavrilets explained. Gavrilets says that the study’s results describe a ‘sexual revolution’ initiated by low-ranking males who began providing in order to get matings. ‘Once the process was underway, it led to a kind of self-domestication, resulting in a group-living species of provisioning males and faithful females,’ he said.

“The study reveals that female choice played a crucial role in human evolution and that future studies should include between-individual variation to help explain social dilemmas and behaviors, according to Gavrilets.”

My Comment: The true guardian of family values is the man who doesn’t forget to buy food on the way home, but not the one who reigns over the entire family. And within the family, evolution leads us to unity, but not to dominion.

Paying For The Crisis: Racial Violence Is On The Rise In Greece

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Euronews): “Greece’s financial crisis is exacerbating racial violence according to a report by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

“It is sounding the alarm over attacks on immigrants for whom the country has long been a gateway into Europe.

“Giorgos Tsarbopoulos, head of UNHCR Greece, said, ‘The economic situations created a climate where slogans and xenophobic rhetoric and easy solutions that are not solutions of course, of ‘kick them out, let’s take the law into our own hands’ can more easily be propagated in a population which faces problems regarding security and public order.’

“Over recent weeks, the government has been herding illegal immigrants into new detention camps. But a shortage of funds is making it harder to either repatriate them or process asylum requests.”

My Comment: The growth of the Nazi organizations and parties is becoming common. Everything is going according to the Kabbalistic scenario, although it is according to its bad option—the path of suffering—rather than the path of Light, likeness to the Light, through the education of humanity for integration and unification.

The Empty American Dream

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Workers World): “As of the last count by the Census Bureau, there are almost 19 million EMPTY housing units in the United States.

“Many are brand new but have no buyers; people can’t afford them. Others have been lived in for years, but now lie empty after their occupants were chased out and their belongings dumped on the street by foreclosure enforcers.

“Allowing an average of only three people per housing unit, the statistic above means that at least 57 million people in the U.S. who are now homeless, in shelters, doubled or tripled up with relatives or friends, or living in trailers, campers or other vehicles, could have a real home to live in.”

My Comment: This will only grow more and more until humanity decides that it is necessary to change its attitude to the world from reception to bestowal, from egoism to participation, unity, love.

“US Firms Put Social Values Before Big Profits”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from BBC News): “…in the next few weeks, half a dozen US states are expected to pass legislation that will for the first time protect companies which value their social impact as much as the bottom line.

“Whether it’s buying locally, protecting the environment or launching community projects, the new ‘benefit corporations’ have a common mission – to do well by doing good.

“‘It’s becoming a national movement,’ says Penny Jones-Napier, owner of the Big Bad Woof pet store in Hyattsville, Maryland, the first business in the US to adopt the new benefit corporation designation. ‘What started with small businesses is moving into the mainstream.’

“As a benefit corporation, Big Bad Woof is protected from legal action if it makes decisions that aren’t in the financial interests of its shareholders.

“The company can support local suppliers for instance, even though that might not be the cheapest option and could reduce the profit margin.

“Ms Jones-Napier says her customers are also happy to pay extra to support the company’s values. …

“‘Benefit corporations are brilliant because they allow companies to pursue profit – for which no one should apologise – and at the same time have a positive impact on society,’ says corporate legal expert Laura Jordan of The Capital Law Firm in Washington DC.

“Whereas the two goals were once seen as incompatible, people in their 20s and 30s regard them as complementary, she says. ‘They want to use the power of business to change the world.’

“Seven states, including New York and California, have already adopted the new business class. These seven states combined produce a third of America’s annual economic output, which makes their support for benefit corporations significant, says Andrew Kassoy, co-founder of B Lab. …

“There are still fewer than 100 benefit corporations in the US, but Mr Kassoy expects that number to grow rapidly over the next few years.”

My Comment: This initiative would be wonderful if it weren’t egoistic and confined within one country or one state. In the end, since this is contrary to the law of nature, to bring us to a total interconnected system, this initiative has no future! It will only delay the end and will bring us to a greater devastation.
