Until the “Exodus from Egypt,” we go through many different periods, adventures, and states that are quite dramatic where we stand before the egoistic force trying to do something with it. On the whole, we don’t need to fight it; we should only aim ourselves at the right connection among us. Then this force will help us.

It is constantly evoked, creating interruptions and problems, which you should solve by mutual cooperation with others. You solve them by rising above them; you are building love above hate.

It is impossible to reach anything without obstacles. They are what help us unite, just as other obstacles and minor problems give a taste to love. Otherwise it would be one continuous feeling, which would be tasteless and totally not understood.

We should prepare ourselves for these states, so that each time, when we are repelled by the unity among us, we will immediately respond to it correctly.

If a person is depressed, feels dissatisfied, disappointed, powerless, he should understand that he must forcefully “bring” himself into the group and then his eyes will immediately open up. And he will feel life and different emotions.

Now we are in a state when our whole group is coming out of Egypt, and the entire humanity is following it. We must realize our group’s exit from egoism. Once we are able to do that, all of humanity will rush after us automatically.

Humanity will feel that none of them have a method of salvation. People will feel that they cannot exist any longer if they do not follow us.

Every day, it will be manifested more and more. People will begin to discover that the world is actually empty, that it has no idea. That is what is interesting: The world was always full of various ideas: socialist, communist, scientific, political, and so on. And today, everything is gradually fading away.

And we begin to grow ourselves against the background of this picture. The spiritual group will radiate strength, method, and the goal—absolutely everything! No one else will have anything like it.

Nevertheless, due to powerlessness, due to uncertainty, more reactionary forces will awaken, and all sorts of crises, conflicts, and, possibly, wars will arise.

But it depends on how soon we rise and how quickly we can succeed in dissemination so that everyone sees that there is a precise method of salvation and it is not so unrealizable. Anyway, there is no other choice—we must be under this eternal force of nature, which is ready to help us only if we work in harmony with it.

Question: How can we ascend anew to the level of connection we had at the Arava Convention? How can we make sure that our work is direct, without any questions?

Answer: Everything depends on our intention, on whether every second, no matter what I may be saying, doing, or hearing, I think about greater closeness, unification, and the creation of a common feeling within where the Creator, the Light, will be clarified.

It’s like a person who has either a great problem or great joy. Suppose that a very pleasant encounter awaits me in the evening such as a dinner with people dear to my heart or some special event. During the day, I have to work, interact with co-workers, and solve problems, but I abide all day in anticipation of what is to come at night. Alongside the problems and concerns that I deal with every minute, I’m absorbed in the thought that in the evening, something wonderful and pleasant awaits me. I have two thoughts!

The same thing happens here. We can be interacting or doing anything. We purposely close off from everyone in order to ensure a maximum possible concentration of intention between us. This intention should be constant. Whatever we are listening to, doing, or saying, we have to constantly feel tension, seek and strive toward the sensation of oneness between us, the connection in which the Creator has to manifest Himself. This is what we need to do.

Secondly, you said that we felt it in our past unification in the desert. I don’t want to remember that; it was in the past. Right now, I want to ascend and feel a completely new next state. I don’t want to return to the past or even think about it. Each time, I stand before something completely new, and this new state will be better and deeper than the past one. This is the only way we should think.

Therefore, don’t try to awaken former feelings within you; they will only cause harm. Don’t live in the past!

Our next actions should be directed toward coming closer practically and at creating a new sensory organ. This should be much stronger, much more evident and clear than what we had in the desert or in other places.

Together with all our friends around the world, we should feel that we are ascending collectively, developing within us a new sense organ and building the conditions for sensing Him. We will feel Him. It is just around the corner, it already exists within us. Only a little bit more, and He will begin to manifest Himself.

If you perform actions directed toward the goal of creation, you advance with the help of two forces: your own desire and the Light. But if you perform actions that aren’t directed toward the goal of creation, you advance only with the help of one force: your desire. Developing naturally, we fulfill our own needs.

All of reality is essentially desire and the Light. Desire exists within the Light and is constantly changing, more and more. This is the way our natural development is carried out: from a point of energy to matter that becomes increasingly complex, until the present form of life. There are basic elements that create the cyclical system, and there exist connections between them that produce complex materials and even living cells that absorb and discharge all kinds of substances. The cells consist of a new, qualitative connection with the environment because at the still level, the absorption and discharge don’t produce the sensation of life or pain.

Thus, if we want to advance forward, we face a special condition: either to advance under the influence of nature’s force, like a machine, or to create a connection with friends in the group and to build a model that is essentially similar to the Light, the upper force, love and bestowal. You overcome the heaviness and the problems, and accordingly you receive help from Above. In principle, you don’t activate anything new, but in your wanting to advance to the goal, you add your efforts, and in response to it, you receive extra Light from the state you long for.

In the end, you use the same system that responds to “the addition” from our side. If you want it, go ahead, and if you don’t, then you don’t. The changes don’t come from the Light, but from you: If you invested efforts, showed more desire, then you discover an addition of deficiency on your side, and then you receive a greater illumination. No one Above makes decisions about allocating you a portion of the Light. The Light is at absolute rest, and everything depends only on your need for it. Take advantage of the conditions given to you—and you will receive it.

Rabash, Dargot HaSulam (The Steps of the Ladder) 924, “And the Lord spoke to Moses”: Actually we cannot receive anything from Above, from nature, before a person comes to the decision that it cannot be in nature. Only after he despairs from nature, can he ask for help from Heaven, so that he will be helped above nature.

We should try to connect and perform actions of bestowal among us in order to evoke the Reforming Light. When the Light influences us we will feel that we are less and less worthy of connection. It says: “Come to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart.” By wanting to resemble the Creator, we are getting closer to Him and at the same time feel that we are drawing away from Him.

Here a person is required to do special work: He doesn’t escape the battle, but understands that this hardening of the heart will help him reveal the necessity for the power of bestowal, no matter what, without any preliminary conditions. Eventually a person is ready for everything, no matter what, independent of the conditions, the group, the world. One way or the other the main thing is to acquire the power of bestowal, the power of connection

– What for? What will you gain from it?

– Nothing, except for the power of bestowal itself.

It isn’t enough just to talk about it. We should try to attain this attitude towards others by working in the group and in dissemination. It doesn’t have to be expressed externally, but if a person tries to reach others, then he really encounters the king of Egypt and sees that his ego won’t let him do anything.

Then a person goes through the “Ten Plagues of Egypt” and sees how under the influence of a special force from Above, his ego gradually surrenders. Every time “Pharaoh” raises his head and insists, he receives another blow. This detaches a person from the ego and enables him to finally escape it.

Escape where? A person escapes from Pharaoh, which means from the power that separates him from others. First it is just an escape, rising above it, and then a person begins to practically work on connection. In Egypt, in the desire to receive, he couldn’t do that. This is how we reach the “Receiving of the Torah,” which means mutual guarantee, and start the period of “forty years in the desert.”

Question: When will our work have a real impact on the reasoning of scientists and researchers?

Answer: We need to help them see the whole picture. They are already talking about the signs of an integral world, but they cannot gather individual observations into one system, into a unified methodology.

In addition, they are afraid to delve deeper into this topic because the idea of an integral world leads them to a confrontation with those in power. Current governments are still acting egoistically and individualistically, failing to realize that by doing so they are destroying themselves. Politicians lack an integral perception. Unlike them, scientists observe nature and speak about what they see. Who hears them is another story.

There is another problem: However wonderful the words spoken by various experts and specialists may be, no matter how much they pontificate about interconnection and the need to unify, they don’t have the means to implement it. Money and military might won’t help here. Even if all the people in the world exclaim, “Yes, we want to be one global village!” what will happen after this unanimous declaration of their will? Nothing, except for a world war. After sensing even more acutely the ties that bind them to each other, they will unleash a war in order to sever this connection.

Scientists do not have a solution; they don’t know how to change man. So why scream about how harmful egoism is if you do not have the remedy? In the past, doctors didn’t tell patients that they were terminally ill. There were no means to even slow down the progression of an illness, and therefore, a person was left in the dark so he would suffer less. “Do not put obstacles in front of a blind person,” says the Torah. Why reveal the truth if you are unable to help a person deal with it?

So without revealing the wisdom of Kabbalah, without the message of mutual guarantee proceeding from us, humanity doesn’t have a single chance to correct anything. And this is now our problem: How can we establish connection with people and explain to them that it is possible to correct egoism and thereby correct the world.

We are talking precisely about the correction of man. Nothing else will help here. Many already understand that all evil is contained in human nature. However, they throw up their hands: “A human being is egoistic and nothing can be done about it.” If we don’t supply people with the method of the correction of egoism, if we don’t explain that it is actually attainable, the world has no chance. So far, however, we’ve been working half-heartedly.

Question: How do I begin feeling the upper force?

Answer: We begin to feel the upper force only to the extent we can attune ourselves to it in our unity. A person cannot feel this force alone.

Tuning into this force should be in accordance with it. If I do it on my own, it will be an egoistic tuning. The ego will rule over me. How do I exit this state?

I need more than a desire to exit and rise above myself—this is an individual and egoistic desire present in millions of people in our world. How do I feel this very force, precisely this force? To do that, I must become equivalent to it.

There is a very simple law in nature: You can sense some phenomenon only to the extent you consist of it. That is, if I feel, hear, see, taste, or smell something, it is because I possess certain qualities that are also present in what I feel. There must be a  law of equivalence of form. I have to build in myself a device that will detect waves existing on the outside.

Let’s assume that we have a radio set. What do I do when I turn its handles? I tune it in; I generate a certain wave in it. If there is a similar wave on the outside, the antenna will detect it according to the principle of resonance, equivalence, and I will hear some sounds; my ear will detect them.

It means I have to build within myself a receiver that will contain qualities similar to those of this force. If I simply desire to come out of myself and sense it, I will achieve nothing. That is the reason we gather in a group where I do not only desire to rise above myself, but rather want to rise above myself in the quality of bestowal, in the quality of love, which is the quality of this force.

There are millions of those wanting to exit and rise above themselves. However, it takes time for them to hear that besides rising above themselves, they can achieve it by building the quality of bestowal within.… It is only possible in the group, between us, when you begin to unite with others according to the principle of “love thy neighbor.” Then you begin to become equivalent to this force and are able to sense it.

The attribute of bestowal is attained in the group, in society, under special conditions that are described by Kabbalists from the state that was prepared for us by the shattering of First Man (Adam HaRishon), the general soul. If we use the small environment that was given to us correctly, and in it, try to reach mutual bestowal, we will discover that we are in exile in Egypt.

We discover that there is no way we can attain spirituality, the Creator, the attribute of bestowal, if we don’t reach the love of friends first. But all our attempts to reach connection and love of friends end in complete failure, as it is written, “the Children of Israel cried from the work,” because we discovered that we built poor cities, Pithom and Ramses for Pharaoh, which means that we only increased our desire to receive.

Although we despair from this work, we don’t leave it and we shout: “Save us!” After all, our ego, Pharaoh, doesn’t let us connect, and if this goes on this way it will never let us leave the exile and attain the connection with the upper force.

This is really a cry of despair from the bottom of the heart. Then a special, general force called “Moses” is revealed. It is revealed in the group and goes through many changes. Once it is revealed and once it is concealed, until we stabilize this collective force and place it against our ego.

When we are ready to fight our collective ego that disturbs us from connecting by placing the collective force of connection called “Moses” against it, the life or death struggle begins. We support this force as much as we can and even above our power! Here we discover in our general collective point the help from Above. At this point, the Creator says: “Come to Pharaoh, let’s fight him together!” this means that He agrees to connect with our collective point, and so he takes us out of Egypt.

On the way different phenomena occur, which the Haggadah tells us about, and we have to go through all this. It refers only to our attempts to reach connection and to somehow fulfill it. Eventually we come out of this state, of our inability to connect, and attain what we wanted. The method of connection called Torah is revealed to us against the ego and the hatred.

Now the system we can use appears. It is called Torah, the Reforming Light that gradually begins to influence us in order to correct us. There is Mt. Sinai that separates us, the collective ego that stands in the way of the connection among us. When the Light corrects the hatred into connection, this mountain becomes the “mountain of Holiness.”

This is what the holiday of Pesach is about (from the Hebrew word meaning “to skip”), which symbolizes the transitions from exile to freedom. Exile is my inability to connect. I don’t know how to do it, but I yearn for it and demand it.

Redemption symbolizes the fact that I was given a chance, a system, a method that enables me to correct the evil in me and to turn it into good. Good means mutual guarantee, love of friends, in which I discover the force that enables me to fulfill this attitude and adhere to the Creator. After all, He is the goal I yearned for from the start.

There are the terms “staff and snake.” If I constantly try to keep the Creator above and myself below, then it is a staff; it is below in its importance (same root in Hebrew) so it supports me on the way. But if I don’t work this way and my egoistic desire makes all the decisions, this means that it throws the stick to the ground and it turns into a snake. Then I am under the control of my ego.

A person should constantly check to be certain he is not a partition in the sea of Light; thus he annuls himself, surrenders, and is included in the Light. He should constantly check himself this way and see himself in relation to the friends and the group. They guarantee that you won’t start imagining that you are completely corrected, completely righteous. This is why we are given such a specific method of measurement, so we can always correctly assess and check where we are in relation to the group.

I should constantly check whether I am “transparent” in relation to the group, so I do not disturb the group, but I participate in it. Thus, I build balanced and equal relationships. In this case, I will constantly find something in the work that will keep me in balance with the upper Light. This will go on until all this work becomes a habit for me, and I begin to feel the upper Light permanently.

This work is done in “exile” when we don’t feel the greatness of the Creator but only want to imagine His greatness, the greatness of the attribute of bestowal, above all the obstacles that disturb us from feeling its importance. I constantly check myself in relation to the group because in the meantime, I don’t feel spirituality, and I see myself as a righteous person who is totally transparent and doesn’t stand in the way of the Light.

It may seem to me that I am already on the level of harmony with the Returning Light, repeating its movements by bestowing upon everyone like it does. How else can I know whether this is true or not? There is no other way I can check myself, except in my attitude towards the friends.

If I succeed in being the connecting, balancing part that equalizes everyone and draws them to one collective center in which our connection exists, then there is no doubt that in this way I equalize myself with, and do not stand in the way of the Light, the Creator who fills all of reality.

This is possible only in the group, and there is no other way to check it. This is the reason for the shattering and all the preparation work—in order to create a system of measurement for us.

It is very hard to explain what spirituality is because it is a matter of feeling. If a person shares such feelings, he will understand what is being described. But if he is not on the same level and doesn’t feel what the author speaks about, he won’t understand anything at all.

All our work takes place in “Egypt,” in exile, when we don’t yet feel the Creator, the upper force that can help us rise above our desire to receive. This is a time of choice and it is the best time because this is when we learn how to work against our desire.

I have to constantly imagine that I am already in bestowal, in the spiritual world, in sanctity, and I do not create any partition, barrier, in the way of the upper Light that fills all of reality. I annul my personality, my egoistic “self,” and although I feel different states that go through me and summon different reactions in my ego, I have to try being only in pure bestowal.

It is as if I am already in the spiritual world, I’m immersed in a sea of Light by being totally equivalent to it. This is because everything that actually separates me from the Light is my desire to receive, my ego, which resembles a box that doesn’t let the light through. I put obstacles for myself, I’m the only one who stands out with his ego in the Light. Except for me everything is corrected and ready.

Only I see that this reality is distorted, that I’m corrupt, and that the Creator is evil and treats me badly. In addition, it seems to me that there is another authority besides the Creator.

All our work is to imagine our state correctly, the way it actually is, and not what is depicted in our ego. There is nothing except the Creator, but my ego tells me that there are many different forces that make decisions and there is also me.

It seems to me that I feel and decide something myself, but even this isn’t true. The Creator is the one who sends me all these feelings so that based on the impressions I receive from Him every instant, I will be able to do the work and to annul myself, my thoughts that I seemingly think and feel independently, that I receive something from the environment, the group, and the whole external world. Instead, I have to imagine that I am totally under the control of the upper Light that fills all of reality.
