Filling The Desires Of Others As If They Were My Own

laitman_559Comment: Many people believe that spirituality means meditations or something of that sort.

Answer: It isn’t meditation in your thoughts, but continuous work on your desires in order to perceive the desires of others and to work on them as if they were your own.

Question: What do you mean by feeling the desires of others like my own?

Answer: If you want something, for example, I take your desire and fill it and thus we unite into one integral system, then I resemble the Creator.

Question: But for this, must you know what the desire of other is ?

Answer: I want to feel others, but they don’t have to tell me what their desires are.

To the degree that I intend to do them good, I begin to feel the desires of others. I ascend above myself, cease to feel my desires, and begin to accurately feel the desires of others.

I take all their properties, intentions, and possibilities and I receive the filling from the Creator because I have the strength because I am in a spiritual state. Having filled this desire in myself, I separate it from myself and I give it to the person from whom I received the deficiency.

A person may not feel his spiritual desires, but I feel them and fill them, and thereby prepare him for a spiritual mission.

How do desires for spiritual attainment and the revelation of the world and the Creator emerge in our generation? Kabbalists prepared these desires for us and it doesn’t matter that there were only a few of them compared to the whole world. They did it.

A Place Is A Desire

laitman_275Question: How was the creation created and established?

Answer: When I was a student I was taught that the universe is eternal and that it has no beginning and no end, no dimensions and no time. This was a scientific point of view.

Then suddenly, at one point everything began to fall apart and scientists began to say that the universe is merely 14 billion years old. Physicists said that there was nothing before that and that we have to believe them. So what was there instead of the universe? Nothing. Was there some place? No, there wasn’t.

So where did it come from? Perhaps there was a vacuum and then the stars appeared? No, there was no vacuum either.

This is something that doesn’t make sense.

Question: And what does the wisdom of Kabbalah say?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah says the same thing. Scientists are getting closer in their views to the wisdom of Kabbalah because the ego has developed and is getting closer to it.

Question: So what was there before the creation—the desire to receive?

Answer: Before the appearance of the desire to receive there was only a desire to bestow, the Creator, Light.

The desire has no place. It is actually called the place itself. If I have a desire to eat now, for example, if you ruin this desire, I will feel that I have lost my appetite. Does the desire have a place or not?

If I have lost the desire, I will not be able to force myself to eat even if I am very hungry. This means that the desire is the place and not my empty stomach.

Question: Where is the desire?

Answer: Nowhere. I can check my stomach and say that it is empty. It wants to eat, but I am telling you if I don’t want anything, not even a small piece will enter my mouth! This means that in the corporeal world, you cannot point at a place that contains a desire.

laitman_628.1Question: What place in a person’s soul does one’s corporeal ancestors occupy, one’s father and mother?

Answer: Absolutely none.

Question: Do the corporeal fate and qualities of a person depend on the place of his soul in the system of Adam HaRishon?

Answer: It does not depend on that at all.

Question: Will our generation wait to reach unity with all the souls?

Answer: I do not know to which generation you belong. Perhaps you are over 90 or 100 years old, but you can still reach unity. Attainment knows no age.

Question: Isn’t the Creator the source of everything that exists in the universe? If this is so, then is He the master of the two sources: the so-called good and evil?

Answer: That is correct

Question: Do I understand correctly that a person’s soul consists of the desire to receive?

Answer: This is absolutely right. Only of this. And this desire is initially egoistic and later is corrected to the opposite one.

Question: Who controls the serpent within a person? Is it the Creator?

Answer: Of course the Creator.

Question: What should I do when I discover something within myself that I cannot handle? Should I run away?

Answer: Where can you run away to? We will not run away; we will have to correct ourselves.

What Fills The Creator?

laitman_239Question: What fills the Creator?

Answer: The Creator is filled with our empty desires. He has enough Light. He needs a desire, a request for fulfilment. For example, a little boy asks his mother and she gives to him. How does he give her pleasure? He pleases her by asking.

Question: Do I feel that the Creator is filled?

Answer: You feel that He enjoys your request.

Question: Isn’t the Creator just a system?

Answer: Yes, but this system reacts. It is a bilateral system: you affect it and it affects you with feedback. This is the same as cursing your computer when it gives you problems. You introduce elements of your character into it so much that you are ready to hit it. Why? It is because you are interacting with another object.

I am not even talking about the fact that a gardener speaks to the flowers and they answer him back because he feels them.
