Don’t Be Afraid To Make A Mistake

Torah, Deuteronomy, 18:21 – 18:22: Now if you say to yourself, “How will we know the word that the Lord did not speak?” If the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not occur and does not come about, that is the thing the Lord did not speak. The prophet has spoken it wantonly; you shall not be afraid of him.

If you obey the prophet [1] and he says something false, don’t be afraid to make a mistake, because everything you take from him, as if coming from the Creator [2], although the Creator didn’t say that, won’t harm you at all and won’t be recorded on your account.

There will be a separate scrutiny with the prophet. We also must not forget that all this happens in one person.

Question: Does it mean that the fact that a person follows a false prophet it is not considered a sin?

Answer: Suppose the prophet is wrong because he has lost a certain connection with the Creator. Perhaps this is done by the Creator deliberately in order to place the people in a particular situation and teach them something.

In other words, all the qualities of a person hear and feel the mind that says that for the sake of the Creator, a person should do so and so. If later it turns out that it was wrong, then the person is not at fault because this was a direction from above.
