Drama On The Spiritual Path

Laitman_182_02Torah, Deuteronomy 21:01 – 21:04: If a slain person be found in the land which the Lord, your God is giving you to possess, lying in the field, [and] it is not known who slew him, then your elders and judges shall go forth, and they shall measure to the cities around the corpse.

And it will be, [that from] the city closer to the corpse, the elders of that city shall take a calf with which work has never been done, [and] that has never drawn a yoke, and the elders of that city shall bring the calf down to a rugged valley, which was neither tilled nor sown, and there in the valley, they shall decapitate the calf.

Since the Torah speaks only about our internal actions, here it talks about finding in yourself the person killed by you. By working on yourself, you gradually grow from the animal state. Therefore, you take from your quality an animal state that is the closest to a “slain person,” a calf, and decapitate it with a stone.

A calf is identified with the quality of Bina, with milk, and with the quality of bestowal. A stone is Lev haEven (stony heart), the heaviest egoism that is impossible to correct. In other words, you must perform an action when your indomitable egoism in its lowest form decapitates the calf that gives life, meaning milk, what is called the Light of Hassadim.

By this you perform a spiritual action in our world, and by doing so, you atone the killing of a person in you. The recognition of evil that you performed, by killing a germ of the future person in you, serves you as a starting point for the further rise.

I stopped here only on a few reference points. In fact, everything is not simple at all. It is described in the form of an instruction in the Torah and it is unclear how it can be deciphered. It requires the entire wisdom of Kabbalah.

It turns out that you kill a quality of bestowal in yourself, perform the sententious action, as if you are told, “You can’t imagine whom you killed in yourself! And now do it consciously. At the level of human, you didn’t see and couldn’t understand that you were killing a person in you, but on the animate level, you can determine this. So, kill.”

This is a very deep internal action when you force your egoism to kill the animal life familiar to you. You kill the root, from which the human killed by you was supposed to grow and now you can start acting.

This is a great internal drama and an act of inner self-observation.

laitman_283_01Question: Often it seems to me that I am being moved, as if I am not doing anything. Is this only my imagination?

Answer: It is quite possible it seems like this to you. If you study the wisdom of Kabbalah seriously, you will begin to feel how this happens and where, how the upper force manages you and what it does inside of you.

Question: What feelings does a Kabbalist experience? Does he receive pleasure from our world?

Answer: A Kabbalist experiences feelings a billion times greater than a regular person, and even if these are feelings in our world, he can connect them with the Creator.

Question: Is intuition also product of desire?

Answer: In Kabbalah, there is no intuition. Intuition is a lack of knowledge, an absence of awareness in our world, which we somehow make up. In Kabbalah, the Light fills a desire precisely and guides it.

Question: Is it possible to give an example of how it is possible to attribute everything to the Creator?

Answer: I suggest you constantly reread the articles from the book Shamati, especially the article “There is None Else beside Him,” then you will surely begin to feel contact with the upper force and will know how it is possible to be in mutual interaction with Him.

Question: What can one do if emotions take you over and you cannot turn through them to their source?

Answer: You can! Continue to read the articles in Shamati, but seriously.

Question: How is it possible to get rid of constant memories about a girl? Except for a strong feeling of hatred toward her, nothing is left.

Answer: This doesn’t bother the girl or you. I repeat again, study the wisdom of Kabbalah seriously, and it will direct you toward the right goal.

New Life 821 – Democracy And Equality

New Life 821 – Democracy And Equality
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

By teaching people to be mutually connected, we achieve equality and the ability to be considerate of others.

We are all connected by one system, and every individual is like a cogwheel without which the system cannot function. True equal rights are expressed in giving equal opportunities to everyone and bestowing goodness unto others. Our problem is education. At school today, children’s attitudes to each other and to the teachers is very bad. Democracy, equality, and a true relationship between people are the result of feeling that we are all one family.

Eventually we all have to feel that we are all one family, and this will make us feel what everyone needs and we will give it to them. When each one contributes as much as he can to society, it will be a true egalitarian democracy.
