The Main Thing Is Not To Remain Indifferent

laitman_527_07Question: From the perspective of the wisdom of Kabbalah, is there any sense in millions of people reading the Torah? Does the Ohr Makif (Surrounding Light) work on them, or is this useless?

Answer: People receive and perceive either positive influences or negative influences from Kabbalists according to the manner in which they relate to them, in a good or hostile form.

Both a positive and a negative attitude are beneficial; the main thing is not to remain indifferent.

Therefore, it is preferable to relate to the wisdom of Kabbalah negatively than to remain indifferent because, in spite of everything, a person arouses negative forces this way that will lead him forward, even though in the opposite direction, and this road may go on for a few centuries, but he will discern his way back.

If a person does not react, but simply walks in place, even though he is not moving further away, there is no way of knowing when he will wise up. Therefore, it is useful to do something in any case.

Baal HaSulam writes that the movement of a person is independent of whether he yearns for the Creator or denies His existence because both the one force and the other force, in principle, act in the same direction.
