At The Point Of Choice

At any point of our spiritual state there are two ways. Therefore the phrase “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse” (Deuteronomy, 11:26) is repeated many times in the Torah.

This phrase is relevant at any given time because people are given freewill. A man is a creature that understands, feels, knows, and is able to realize the freedom of choice [1].

If at every moment of his existence he doesn’t see that there are two ways in front of him and he isn’t certain which of them is a blessing and which is a curse, then he is not a man but an animal that is urged forward by evolutionary development as a stick prodding him from behind.

But he considers himself a man because he is in concealment, and he doesn’t even realize that he doesn’t decide anything by himself. He’s  like a marionette in the hands of a puppeteer.

Therefore the words “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse” are addressed only to a person, who through the study and implementation of Kabbalah [2], has reached an understanding of the paths that are in front of him: a blessing and a curse, and he can choose only one of them. He doesn’t have another alternative if he is at the level of implementing freewill. And if he doesn’t realize it, he is not a man.

Therefore, it is written about all the people in the world that they are like animals, apart from those who, with the help of Kabbalah, reach the level of freewill.
