Building The Third Temple

Unity, The Way To A Good FutureQuestion: In our day, will we at least succeed in laying the foundation for building the Third Temple?

Answer: The Third Temple, unlike the First and Second Temples, is the complete unification of all people on the face of the Earth. This unification will later be joined by the animate, vegetative, and still nature.

The Third Temple is directed toward unity. The First and Second Temple were a partial unity, unity of only one group of Kabbalists, whereas the Third Temple will be shared by all people and will include all of humanity. It is written: “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 56:7), or “they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them” (Jeremiah 31:33).

The crisis will obligate us to reach this state of unity even if it involves world wars, but I hope that we will overcome the difficulty in approaching each other without wars, through the development and dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: How can we be certain that we will truly build the Third Temple and not a new Tower of Babel?

Answer: We don’t intend to build anything tangible, we have no need for physical symbols. We want to build this Third Temple within our hearts, between us; this is the main thing. We don’t have to build any external structures where a person can run away and hide from the need to change himself. A person must “turn himself into a spiritual brick” with whose help this temple will be built.

We have already reached a situation today in which the ego is pushing us so much that we have no possibility of escaping it. It is pushing us to unite.

Why Goodness And Justice Are Silent

laitman_263Question: Can you explain why goodness and justice are silent while evil and falsehood always stand up for themselves and seem to be victorious?

Answer: Goodness and justice don’t exist. They are the flip side of egoism. Altruism comes to us only under the influence of the Upper Light, not in any other way.

WhyGoodnessAndJusticeAreSilent

What basis does someone have to claim his opinion is right? Is the approach altruistic?  We all know “the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.”

People are confident in their infallibility and are ready to go on the offense for the sake of their self-righteousness.

Egoism often moves people to revolution, but a revolution devours its children. Except for individual Kabbalists, humanity doesn’t use the altruistic force that Kabbalists receive from the Upper Light, the upper force.

Question: On the plane of our world, is there no truth in the relations between us?

Answer: Truth is not in the hands of anyone.

We must try to achieve a state in which we can explain clearly and understandably to people that we have a method that will be able to influence human society and bring it into balance. This is the main thing. It doesn’t annihilate the opponent because there is no opponent, rather there is simply an imbalance of forces. These forces must be balanced so that they will work with each other reciprocally, exactly as happens in nature.

Moving To A Spiritual Nature

laitman_214Question: It is very difficult to move to a spiritual nature of bestowal and love of others. Do you believe that the whole world can do this?

Answer: I by no means am a utopian; I am a realist. Only special people with a special predisposition for a spiritual transformation can attain the characteristic of bestowal and love of others. They are called Kabbalists.

There may only be a few dozen of them in the world, no more. But they can lead all of humanity after them because otherwise it will not be possible for us to continue existing on the face of the Earth. The prophecy that everyone will follow “Israel” will come true, meaning that they will follow those who yearn for and aim toward the Creator, the characteristics of bestowal and love.

Therefore, a group of ten Kabbalists on the planet suffices to lead everyone to the goal of creation.

A Science From Nowhere

Laitman_132Question: The wisdom of Kabbalah has existed for more than 5,000 years. If we ask seven billion people today whether the wisdom of Kabbalah is a method for building the right connections, they are all likely say that it is mysticism. Why have Kabbalists concealed this fact for ages?

Answer: Kabbalists concealed Kabbalah and its purpose for a long time because humanity receives only what it needs in every phase of its evolution. Similarly, Albert Einstein was afraid to reveal the knowledge of nuclear energy to the world because he feared people would build a nuclear bomb. Perhaps if he hadn’t accelerated the process, it would have happened 30 to 40 years later.

The good and bad forces and circumstances are revealed only according to humanity’s level of development at any given moment.

The fact is that Kabbalah is not just a science that first reveals simple laws, then mechanical laws, then the laws of atomic energy, and now starts to reveal more complex biological and genetic laws until the actual creation of man. On the one hand, the wisdom of Kabbalah is a science, but on the other hand, only a person on the level of that science can attain it. People don’t have to be the smartest physicists like Einstein, Newton, or other scientist. They have to develop from one generation, conveying information to each other, and, at the same time, they raise themselves and wait for the moment when Kabbalah should be revealed to humanity, when humanity will need it.

Therefore, although the wisdom of Kabbalah was revealed 5,777 years ago to the first man who was a Kabbalist, a scientist, it has been concealed until our times. Only Kabbalists, a small circle of people, engaged in it, just like only a narrow circle of experts engaged in nuclear energy until they decided that there was no alternative and the time has come to use it.

For millennia only a small number of people were occupied with the wisdom of Kabbalah. They wrote books and passed on the wisdom from one generation to the next. These books were written in a special language not because their authors wanted to conceal the meaning of what they wrote, but because it was impossible to reveal something to people that they had no need for, no urge to discover, and no internal preparation for. Even in the old sources it says that starting from the 20th century the wisdom of Kabbalah will be revealed to the whole world, and indeed this has happened. Therefore, it is no wonder that today the wisdom of Kabbalah seems to appear as if from nowhere.

Four Languages Of The System Of Creation

laitman_567_04Language is a means of connection between the elements of creation. For example, a computer has a programming language. The computer itself is a collection of all kinds of memory elements, but how they can be connected and in what order and sequence, what kind of connection between them will activate them is a language.

Different languages are required for different levels of development. When I was a student, we learned programming languages that are already forgotten today. Nobody knows them and nobody has heard of them. The languages of today are appropriate for modern problems and modern computers.

There are many different languages. One language is designed for playing chess on a computer, another language is designed for biological research, a third language for defining questions, etc. That is, the language describes the interaction of the system’s elements.

The system of creation is one, but it has four levels: first, second, third, and fourth. Each level has its own language even though everything that happens in one of them is similar to what happens on other levels but in different forms with different materials.

Even though the same laws operate on all of the levels, because they are clothed in the material of the still, vegetative, animate, and human matter, they look totally different. Understandably, the language that describes them is very different.

In the universe, for example, the inanimate elements of nature interact, they are countless in number, but qualitatively elementary. On the other hand, if we examine human society, compared to the stars and galaxies, it is quantitatively small, but on the highest level qualitatively.

So the descriptive language of their behavior and interaction differs. There are four languages that correctly describe the interaction in nature.

Although in the wisdom of Kabbalah, all four languages can be used on every level, beginning from the lowest and to the highest, we simply use them mixed together to describe all of the levels of nature. This is very interesting because we assume that it is impossible to do this with a computer program. They have completely different tasks, different approaches, and different program segments.

A Kabbalist who describes some kind of system uses the language of Kabbalah, moves to the language of the Tanakh, then to the language of religious law (Alahot), and finally to mythical language. He can use all of them absolutely freely according to what is convenient for him.

And he has the right to do this because the system of creation is built on a combinatorial basis. It is entirely comprehensive, integrated, connected, and complex. Therefore, it is possible to describe every part of the system through the language of the level of the “speaking,” let’s say, (which is the highest level, the level of Kabbalistic language), and to some degree the level of a simpler language, the language of the laws, and so on.

That is how we work. But when we investigate this system, we enter it, we begin to feel it. Then it is not important to us what language we are using. Each one of them enters into us and becomes a language of emotions, of sensations.

If a Kabbalist must convey something to others to maintain this system somehow, to do something with it, then a language is used, but within himself he has no need for a language. Or even if I read something, it is not important to me in which of the four languages I am reading because all of the information that is in me changes its form to a language of sensations.

In this manner, the four languages of the wisdom of Kabbalah describe the entire system, but besides them there exist another 70 languages because the body of every phenomenon, image, object, or spiritual creation is composed of 70 parts. They are all composed of seven Sefirot (Hesed, Gevurah, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut), and each one of them includes ten Sefirot. In total: 7 x 10 = 70. If we want to describe something that is typical in one of these subsystems, we need to use a specific language.

In Kabbalah this is almost never used, but we need to know that it is possible to make a unique translation for a particular language, an algorithm that will be understandable only for a specific small link in the general system of the common soul.

New Life 800 – Social Class

New Life 800 – Social Class
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Throughout history, class division has existed in different forms because it is human nature.

The people of Israel, in spite of a general altruistic direction, was still divided into tribes. People demand someone to be higher, that there will be a hierarchy; hence, there were kings and nobility. It is important for a person to know who he belongs to, what his position is, what role he plays. That is how the desire to receive is constructed.

In capitalism, wealth, money, controls. Today it is felt that a new control must come.

If a person is completely free, he has no point of reference; he must know the origin of his fulfillment. The need for freedom is relative; it is the freedom to determine the framework I want to exist in. Ultimately we evolve into a higher framework, which is the divine.

Throughout history we have only exchanged frameworks, we must find the form that will satisfy everyone. Different people have different tendencies, most people naturally don’t aspire to anything higher. Struggles between classes stem from our not knowing the direction nature pushes us to evolve. There should be a round pyramid where each person finds his place, but everyone is mutually connected and complements each other.
