Everything Is In Your Hands

laitman_423_02Torah, Deuteronomy 15:09 – 15:10: Beware, lest there be in your heart an unfaithful thought, saying, “The seventh year, the year of release has approached,” and you will begrudge your needy brother and not give him, and he will cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin to you. You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him; for because of this thing the Lord, your God, will bless you in all your work and in all your endeavors.

Being unwilling to give to a a needy brother is our materialistic psychology. The Creator encourages us to do the opposite. However, a person won’t be able to give even if he wants. Moreover, he has to go through such states when he feels that this is his brother, the closest and dearest, but he can’t give to him.

History knows villains, who could let their children die of starvation. They even contributed to it. Yet it comes not from damaged psychology, but from evil.

It is written “he will cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin to you. You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him; for because of this thing the Lord, your God, will bless you.” It means that you must give to him not only because it would be a sin for you, but from the heart, devotedly, selflessly, and without any profit for you. In the internal work of a person the “needy brother” is any action of bestowal, directed either to society or to the Creator.

Since the fulfillment from the Upper Light can come to everyone only through me, the people and even the Creator are always needy of me. Their fulfillment is in my hands. It means that the quality of bestowal is always needy.

Today do I even think about how to give to others? I am absolutely not interested that someone is in an uncomfortable state. And even if I face this situation, I will pass by without noticing anything. Even if I notice, I will somehow justify myself to not engage in it, and if I engage in it, it will be only to have some benefit, or in order that in the future the world would say about me, “He is so merciful.”

But if there is no benefit either in this or in the future world, then I see nothing, because I look at everything through my egoistic vision. This is a problem.

Question: Is this why there is such a big gap between the rich and the poor today?

Answer: Today we are in such a state that a person can’t give up anything of his own. The moment another zero is added to his bank account, he feels pleasure, but at the next moment this feeling disappears and he runs after the next zero. He doesn’t feel the fact that people die because of this zero.

Comment: But you never blame anyone.

Answer: No. We need to blame the Creator. He said, “I have created the evil inclination,” but He also immediately added, “I have created the Torah for its correction, meaning the Light, because its Light returns one to the Source, to Me. Use it and you will turn all the evil into good and will become similar to Me, eternal and perfect. Everything will be revealed before you, you will exit limitations of this little world and will exist in the completely different dimension.”

Comment: It means I am rich, everything is in my hands.

Answer: The wealth of all the others depends on each person, because through each of us, like through a pipe, the Light passes to everyone else, and no one can replace another.

Why Are Psalms So Popular?

laitman_527_07Question: Why is the Book of Psalms written by King David and Ecclesiastes written by King Solomon, the books which are closest to people of all religions?

Answer: King David is the foundation of the whole system of correction, Malchut, and so whatever he wrote in the Book of Psalms is the basis of a person’s appeal to the upper force. All the religions use it.

Malchut is the foundation of the whole world. Ecclesiastes, on the other hand, is not about an act like King David’s book, but about thought, about study. This is not only an appeal to the Creator but an appeal to a person’s internal world. This is the reason that the Book of Psalms and Ecclesiastes are closest to man.

It seems that the Book of Psalms doesn’t turn to the Creator but to a person, although King David actually turns to the Creator.

The Difference Between The Written Language And The Spoken Language

Laitman_630_2Question: In what way is the spoken language of Kabbalah different from the written language?

Answer: They are very different. The written language is much higher than the spoken language. It also appeared much later. It is a language that expresses the spiritual attainments of the person who writes and not his feelings. This is the reason that it differs from the spoken language by which a person conveys his feelings, intonations, expressions, sighs, and so on.

There are five groups of letters in Hebrew: guttural, palatal, of the tongue, of the jaws, and of the teeth. When using texts, all this disappears and the groups of letters are classified differently: the first nine letters stem from the Sefirot of the lower seven of Bina, the next nine letters stem from the Sefirot Zeir Anpin, and the last four stem from the Sefira of Malchut. There are five more letters, the final letters MaNTZePaCH, altogether 27 letters.

This is a totally different tool and a different form of expression of the same forces that are conveyed by sounds.

In addition to transmission of vocal information or written information from one person to another, there is another way of conveying information, substantive transfer, that is not used today. It was used during the time of the Temple when people also communicated by offering sacrifices, which is a totally different language.

Comment: There is a complementation of the letters in Hebrew in the form of vowel marks under the letters or markings in the shape of crowns above them, which indicate where one should put the stress and help a person read the words correctly.

Answer: All the languages lose their basis since they don’t fully convey all the information of a letter or a word, but in Hebrew it is not so.

In Hebrew all the letters are consonants with vowel marks below them which indicate the missing vowels in the written language. There are also different signs above the letters in the shape of crowns which convey forms of musical notes so you can convey everything by such an illustration of information.

In Hebrew there are also many marks inside the letters, beside the letters, and between the letters. They are the subtext that is not conveyed by sounds but by a pause in tone, by raising or lowering the tone of speech. The overt text is the notes and the covert text are the signs, which convey a second layer of information that is the subtext.

Today, however, we don’t use all these signs because the consonants are enough for a person who is used to the language.

You Create Me

laitman_231_04Question: You often say that the Creator doesn’t exist, and on the other hand, sometimes more often, you say that only the Creator exists, that “There is none else beside Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35). How is it possible to understand this? Does the Creator exist or not?

Answer: The Creator doesn’t exist by itself.

The Creator is what a person creates from his altruistic desires, intentions, and actions. To the degree that he builds those desires, intentions, and actions with his friends, he reveals the Creator.

The amorphous Upper Light that is called “His essence” exists around us always. It is not tangible, it has no form, it is not “clothed” in anything, and it is impossible to attain it. But the Creator is something that a person absorbs through his “sensors,” through his spiritual characteristics, that he creates through an alliance with his friends.

So there is no divinity.  About the Creator, it is said, “You created me.”

There are 2% atheists and 98% believers in the world, but the divinity imagined by those believers doesn’t exist, rather it exists through what is attained with our corrected feelings, and this is called the “Creator” (Boreh) from the words, “Bo” (come) and “Reh” (see). To the degree that a person approaches the characteristics of the Creator and feels Him, to that degree he attains Him, and for him this will be the Creator. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches how to attain it.

Why Was The Torah Written In A Historical Language?

laitman_531_01Question: Why was the most important book in the Torah written in the historical language? After all, they could have used the language of the Sefirot. Why did Moses choose this language?

Answer: The Torah was written in a universal language. It includes all the other languages behind which the wisdom of Kabbalah is concealed. Those who study Kabbalah use it and for the ordinary reader it is not essential.

Moses wrote the Torah from his level of attainment, but he had to convey his attainment to the people, so the Torah was written in this form.

Religion In The Modern World

Laitman_049_01Question: Will the world be a worse place if most people become disappointed with their religions? What would prevent people from mutual destruction and mayhem?

Answer: No, religions don’t need to simply disappear! No way! There is room for faith in the way people understand it, meaning religion, until people everywhere reveal all of creation; until they fully and completely reveal the Creator.

The wisdom of Kabbalah does not offend any religion!

If man created religion, it is essential for him. All the religions stem from the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is based on the principle “love thy friend as thyself.”

The wisdom of Kabbalah operates by leading a person to the fulfillment of this principle, whereas religions only speak about love of others, but regrettably they only cause division between people.
