Torah, “Deuteronomy,” 05:17: And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
A person should constantly work on himself by checking if his thoughts, desires, and intentions are directed toward bestowal and if he doesn’t deceive himself.
This is a very complex work that repeats each time at a higher and deeper methodical level of recognition. And every time you go to the next level, everything you did in the past, even with the very best intentions, seems egoistic to you. What was plus on the lower degree becomes minus on the next one. And this is how you rise.
Therefore, until the end of correction you will be accompanied by constant doubts. And every time you will be convinced that they were correct. It turns out you really were stealing, but didn’t feel it in you.
You cried and suffered, it seemed to you that you wholeheartedly wish well to everyone. There are many people in the world that beat their chests claiming this. And when they come to us, just after a few lessons they feel how it all was emptiness, lies, and deception, and they begin to move forward in the true dimensions.
Question: Who is “my neighbor”?
Answer: It is all me, my internal states.
And the “false witness” is the same. I witness myself, about myself, and about the Creator [1]. Because the Creator is also what I feel and build within myself.
