Torah, “Deuteronomy,” 2:31 – 2:34: And the Lord said to me, “Behold I have begun to deliver Sihon and his land before you; begin to drive him out, that you may inherit his land.” Then Sihon went forth towards us, he and all his people, to war at Jahzah. And the Lord our God delivered him to us; and we smote him and his sons and all his people. And we conquered all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every city, the men, women, and the young children; we left over no survivor.

Women, men, children, and cities are egoistic desires that exist within a person. It is said that a person is a small world, and therefore all of his desires are graded by levels.

Question: But this speaks about the destruction of desires?

Answer: Destroying egoistical desires means correcting them to bestowal and love.

Torah, “Deuteronomy,” 3:1: Then we turned and went up the way of Bashan, and Og, the king of Bashan, came forth toward us, he and all his people, to war at Edrei

Torah, “Deuteronomy,” 3:11 – 3:12: For only Og, king of Bashan, was left from the remnant of the Rephaim. His bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? Nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, according to the cubit of a man. And this land, which we possessed at that time…

Iron represents the lowest level of egoism, the same as gold, silver, and copper. Therefore, we can conquer this level first.

Actually, the Kabbalistic method is the same for attaining all levels. Why are they described in so much detail? Because for a man who starts to enter into the system and feel it reveals huge variations in what is going on with him.

He feels all this within himself. This is a revelation of his world for him and a revelation of the Universe! He passes inside matter, inside the managing forces, and instead of our small planet, he sees the forces that govern the Universe. The entire picture of creation happens inside of him, and he freezes in front of it in admiration.

Therefore, it is described in such detail in the Torah.
