Historical Meeting

laitman_269Question: After a thousand year rift that divided Christianity between East and West, an historical meeting was held recently between Pope Francis and the head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill. Did they truly unite?

Answer: It is not whether they united or not; the fact is that all religions worldwide universally exist within human egoism, which causes them to enter into an irreversible crisis. The ego has grown and religion could not give the evolving person an answer to the question that arises in him about the meaning of life: How he can manage his life correctly, toward what he must bring it and toward what nature is leading us?

Religion has remained on the same level that it was 2,000 years ago when the nations of the world got it from the wisdom of Kabbalah. The wisdom of Kabbalah was the religion of the people of Israel until the destruction of the Second Temple. Then out of it came modern Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Since then, they haven’t changed.

Neither Judaism, Christianity, nor Islam can give an answer to their faithful audience because humans have evolved in the direction of attainment. Since humans have attained our world with the help of science, they also want to recognize and achieve their fate, their life, their destiny, and everything else that is found above them scientifically.

But religion is not capable of that. It can only serve a small, egoistic person, making it possible for him to suppress the question about the meaning of life. It says to a person, “Believe,” and he believes, and in order to settle down into this mollification, he slowly lowers a screen over his eyes. Then he apparently doesn’t see or think, he believes and that’s it. Moreover, this doesn’t depend on his intellect but on his inner psychological need.

The wisdom of Kabbalah says that to everything that religion preaches, a person must truly apply the religious Mitzvah (commandment), “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18); and the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches how to apply it.

Religion talks about the existence of an upper world, a Gan Eden (Paradise, Heaven), a Gehenna (Hell), and the rest of its symbols, and the wisdom of Kabbalah claims that it is up to us to come to discover these concepts now, here in this world. Our world includes all the worlds generally, and all the various possible situations can be seen and attained while still within this world, in this life, right here and now.

And so, of course, Kabbalah, a further development of all the sciences, comes to change religions..So understandably, the religions are very opposed to it. This is less so for Christianity and Islam because it is still far from them.

But this is certainly so for Judaism since it sees a very great threat to its continued existence in the wisdom of Kabbalah. The wisdom of Kabbalah just shakes up the entire enormous mechanism that has been built by religion to serve, to subdue, to influence and control the people, the believers, in that it opposes all the rules and laws that exist in popular Judaism, which tell a person to shut his eyes and believe without any true understanding of both the prayers and the Mitzvot. Understandably, in this form they cannot talk about fulfilling the law, “And you shall love your friend as yourself”; all of that is forgotten and left on the side.

So a very big difference exists between religion and the wisdom of Kabbalah regarding a person’s approach to creation, humanity, and everything that happens with him. This is talking about a fundamental change in his internal mechanism of understanding and perception. In other words, according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, a person must rise above the animate level within himself to a higher level.

Humanity is facing a big problem that will produce suffering on its spiritual level. We are in the beginning of this process and I hope that we can lay down a good and solid foundation for humanity. Then it will be easier for us to move forward.

The Task – Survival

laitman_543_02Opinion (Vladimir Kireev, political analyst): “We live in a time of transition, when the old world rules do not already exist, and new ones have not yet become apparent. These points are called bifurcation points. …

“We live now in a world of winning liberal principles, they govern all global processes, actions of elites. Within the framework of the liberal paradigm experts explain all global processes in human society.

“The paradox is that by defeating their opponents, liberalism found himself in a situation where the rules of the game change, the liberal project is implemented, and we come to the end of an era when it was relevant, and its principles – effective. …

“It is clear that a non-Muslim environment in the form of motion on a different basis, but no different organizational principles and ideas: thieves subculture, totalitarian sects, the post-Soviet nationalists. All these phenomena are of the same order and nature.

“It is in fact a criminal ideology, for which the whole world – a supermarket, it can be a prey, and people – the victim, which can kill, torture, or, say, to take into sexual slavery. At the same time the status of the man endowed only member of his gang, or allied groups. …

“Our collective national task today – to survive in a stormy world, without clogging their brains no longer juggling working schemes and ideologies. It will be, but it sees the future of those who will not drown in destroying the world superstorms system.”

My Comment: This is correct, the world realizes that there is an impasse and does not know the ongoing path. They are also not able to accept the method of unification. The method can descend into the world only through the people of Israel, and the world will be able to accept it only under the great force of our dissemination and/or under the force of suffering.

94-Year-Old Nazi Brought To Trial In Germany

Laitman_182_02Question: In Germany the trial began of a 94-year-old Nazi criminal who was a guard at the Auschwitz concentration camp. He is accused of the murder of 170,000 Jews. The trial stimulated a lot of interest and was moved from the courthouse to the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Delmold. What is your opinion about the event?

Answer: In the war years I was a small child and I grew up in the shadow of what happened. Even though I didn’t personally experience the events of the war, I heard, saw, and felt everything because the horrors of war left a big mark on the whole surviving family.

On the one hand, this was terrible! On the other hand, when I began to study the wisdom of Kabbalah, I understood that all of this happened because the Jews hadn’t carried out their role in the world. In other words, it is possible to say that latent in nature is a need for the Jews to unite and show an example to the whole world so that our world will be transformed into the upper world. Humanity will rise to the highest level and will reveal goodness and love to the world. This cannot be done by anyone except for the Jewish people in whom is embedded the method of unity and love called the “wisdom of Kabbalah.”

When I began to study it, I saw that the nations of the world have no freedom of choice, which includes their hatred of Jews. Even though it seems externally that they hate us, from an inner look at their nature, I understand that they are enslaved and forced. The hatred that is felt from them appears naturally because the people of Israel are not fulfilling nature with the good connections and love which they can attain.

Unfortunately the Jews don’t understand their mission, do not understand that they can work and transform themselves and the whole world to achieve happiness. They remain indifferent and I would say that they are even directed against the method that will free them and humanity from egoistic evil.

As the leader of the only organization in the world that is involved with the study, the dissemination, and the promotion of the wisdom of Kabbalah, done for the purpose of correcting the Jews, I can say that at every moment we encounter their lack of desire, especially among the religious Jews in Israel and in all nations, to understand and accept the wisdom of Kabbalah in the framework of Judaism. To me this is unfortunate since we could fall into the next Holocaust because of this.

New Life 690 – The Meaning Of Putting On Tefillin

New Life 690 – The Meaning Of Putting On Tefillin
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

The physical act of putting on Tefillin is just a symbol of spiritual communication with the higher power. The Tefillin symbolize the correction that we must make in heart and mind to communicate with the higher power. The general egoistic desire is divided into 613 desires that we must correct with love for others. Thought only serves desire; so we must correct the desire.

The contents of the Tefillin are four Parshiot (sections) that correspond to the name HaVaYaH, and through this we are asking the upper force to help us love others.

Putting Tefillin on in the morning expresses a desire to receive the power to correct ourselves throughout the day.

Putting on Tefillin doesn’t correct in itself; rather, the correction depends on a person’s intentions and actions. And that is how it is with all the physical Mitzvot (commandments); they only come as a reminder that it is necessary to carry out internal acts of correction.

The Jewish people attain the spiritual world, and they perform the Mitzvot of Tefillin according to branch and root: “And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand” (Deuteronomy 6:8)—the left hand symbolizes the ego that must be corrected, “and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes” (Deuteronomy 6:8)—when a person corrects his heart and mind he resembles the Creator. This is to say, the Tefillin symbolize all the Mitzvot, the correction of heart and mind thanks to which the person discovers the higher reality.

New Life 619 – A Good Teacher Is A Teacher Of Life

New Life 619 – A Good Teacher Is A Teacher Of Life
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Rav describes how he feels about being a guide for a multitude of students all over the world.

The role of the teacher in a school is to build a person. A professional teacher must also be this way somewhat. The teacher’s role is to prepare children for life, to teach them about the systems of relationships in the family, work, and society. The teacher should teach a child the reason he was born. Children ask about it and get no answer. It simply isn’t talked about it.

If a child knew how to answer this by himself, what he is living for, he could make the right decisions during his life. Since it seems that there is a unique role for an entire generation, the teacher must teach the children what their role is in the world of today. To do this, a teacher must know what nature requires from us because we are living within the system of nature.

The parents at home and the teacher in school must play the same “tune” for the child and should complement each other.

The teachers must learn how to help children achieve balance and harmony with the world that surrounds them. It is up to the teacher to develop the ability in a student to feel the entire system of nature in which we are living and learn to be in balance. Ultimately, the teacher must teach his students to connect with each other correctly, as a single system.

The essential motivation that must move a teacher is first of all to build the child into a person. The children will relate with respect and awe to a true teacher.

Parents entrust to the hands of the teacher the most precious thing that they have; they must be connected with him. If they truly want to build a generation that knows what it is living for, the entire society must change.
