New Life #638 – The Good Ones

New Life #638 – The Good Ones
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Summary

The wisdom of Kabbalah obliges us to reach love thy friend as thyself. Mutual guarantee will fill our country with a good spirit. When the connection between us is good, we are compatible with the general good force of nature and can bring it closer.

Once we were as one man in one heart, and when unfounded hate broke out we were destroyed. Now we need to rebuild ourselves. Our good future depends only on the connection between us through which our sense of security will improve and our enemies will be neutralized. Our spiritual leaders explained that if we are connected, no one will want to harm us.

Beyond mutual help, the project of “The Good Ones” also includes a PR campaign, discussion circles, in home meetings, and more. If we stop wanting to kill one another in potential, our neighbors will no longer want to kill us in practice. We will be good to one another and the whole world will be good to us. It is an equation that everything works by.

We have to radiate a spirit of connection and set a good example with our neighbors, at work, on the road, and in the media. There is the potential of goodness in every Israeli; it is in our DNA, and this is how we gathered around Abraham. The “Good Ones” is a positive wave meant to awaken the dormant love that is concealed in us. Mutual help in addition to a PR campaign about why it is important to connect will build a zone of security around us. If we connect, we spur the good force in nature and it balances the evil in us.

We tell our children that they should behave nicely to others, but we actually forget that. Let’s create good waves of connection between us, and they will spread like ripples from Israel to the world.

Shortening The Workweek In Israel

laitman_559Question: Recently the Israeli Knesset discussed a law that would shorten the workweek from 45 hours to 35 hours proposed by MK (Member of Knesset) Dov Hanin. He thinks that this will help improve leisure time and culture and will reduce unemployment. In your opinion, is this a good move?

Answer: I don’t know if this will be accepted, even though many are saying that it is necessary to introduce an additional day off. It is even uncomfortable that this exists all over the world and in Israel it doesn’t. Moreover, in Israel there is one free day and it is religious, half of the population keeps it, and for them, in fact, there is no “free” day left in the direct sense of the word.

It would be convenient for us to change Sunday into a free day, and as far as it seems, Friday is preferable for our neighbors. So it is possible to make a fluid calendar, Sunday to Friday, everyone according to his choice. The main thing is that people will have two days off.

I am in favor of there being two days because I know that my many religious friends and acquaintances cannot allow themselves to take a vacation for one day and visit relatives who live far away and things like that. This means that it is necessary to bring the conditions for a vacation closer to the conditions of our present life.

Comment: But on the other hand, too much free time is also not that good.

Answer: Why? It is just necessary to know how to employ people. It would be possible to create popular universities, picnics in parks, open all kinds of small businesses for leisure hours; more options would appear for people to go out, to go shopping, and things like that. I think this would be better. It would make it possible for people to feel that they are free, that they are living in a normal nation and not a closed religious nation.

New Life 618 – The Status Of Teachers In Israel

New Life 618 – The Status Of Teachers In Israel
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

In the past a teacher was never called by his first name but as “teacher” and was spoken to in third person only. In order to improve the teacher’s status in Israel we need private schools; the state cannot address this issue.

There should be a correlation between the teacher’s salary and his students’ achievements. We [Israel] have lost the title the “nation of the book” long ago, and all we care about now is money. A teacher’s wages should be the same as a doctor’s and even more. The future of the whole society is thrust on the teacher’s’ shoulders.

Why do people leave their job in high-tech in favor of education? Because they feel that they are building something real in education. A child today isn’t not only influenced by his home environment like in the past, but also by the screen that is in the palm of his hand.

If a teacher taught the art of the relations between people in different aspects of our life, he would be greatly appreciated. Parents should be allowed to register their kids in the class of a teacher of their choice. Parents should know everything that happens in school; they should know the teachers and choose the best, etc.

Teachers build the person; they build the next generation. They should be appreciated by all of society.

New Life #637 – The Power Of The Media In Shaping Reality

New Life #637 – The Power Of The Media In Shaping Reality
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Summary

For generations, communication between people continued to develop. Today the young generation is fed by what they have in their smart phones, so we have lost contact with them. The media controls everything today, and those who control the media control the world, period.

Money runs the media, which runs the world. The anti-Israeli world media coverage stems from the natural inclination to hate the Jews in addition to money. It is impossible to stop what is happening on the Internet since the Internet today is the real means of communication between people.

If the Jews were investors who felt responsibility for the PR on the Internet, we could cope with what is happening there; if we connected around the PR on the net, the connections between us could greatly contribute to our success.

We have to reveal the truth through PR instead of the lies that are spread about Israel. What is more, we have to show everyone how connected we are and thus bring goodwill into the net. We should show that true Islam speaks about “love thy friend as thyself” and that we want to connect with them; we should show the world that the Israelis are connected and that this is where our power lies, and if they learn from us, everyone will benefit from that.

New Life #640 – Israel And The Storm

New Life #640 – Israel and the Storm
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Summary

We have taken the balance out of nature, thus from time to time some natural catastrophe occurs. It’s not always possible to identify what is coming, neither the intensity nor the kind of catastrophe.

The correction of human relationships will balance all of nature’s systems because man is at the highest level. Man has the strongest influence on nature, and also is the most delicate and vulnerable.

The conflict in the Israeli electric company demonstrates decay in the general society of Israel. We see bad relations everywhere. It’s senseless to blame the electric company workers, since actually the entire Israel society needs correction.

What we need is a general educational process for society in the way of consideration and mutual help, mutual responsibility, and that’s what we do here in our organization.
