We All Are One Soul, Part 3

laitman_947The Person In A Good World

Question: If nature is a single body, what is the optimal participation of a person within it?

Answer: Most interesting is that a person has a unique mission in nature. It is very difficult for people to connect together because this is against our nature, our egoistic evil inclination. But if we try to connect and unite despite everything, by that we influence all of nature.

After all, a person is above all the rest of nature, and so our thoughts act like ultramodern weapons, the most powerful and revolutionary of all the weapons in the world. It has been kept secret so far, but there are already many organizations in each country that are developing methods of influencing a person’s thoughts. If we knew how to do this, then through the desire in our heart and the thought in our brain, we would be able to influence the world much more strongly than through any other means available in our world.

Question: What can I do with my thoughts?

Answer: So far you aren’t in a state where your thoughts can work in the world because you aren’t included in the system of creation; you haven’t discovered the system of connections between all thoughts. But later you will discover you are within a web that connects your thoughts with the thoughts of other people, and your desires with the hearts of all the people in the world. And you can influence their minds and hearts when you put your thoughts and desires into them. When you learn to do this, you will see what a revolution it is possible to make in the world.

Question: Doesn’t this seem like a very powerful means that gives me control over the entire world?

Answer: This is an extraordinarily powerful means, but we can use it and see the system only on condition that we have a good influence for the benefit of others. There is a security barrier on which it is necessary to make a Tzimtzum (restriction) on our egoism.

First we must attain the good power we can positively influence others with. And then we are granted the right to influence the world. Whether we want it or not, we are advancing towards this state. All of the problems of the modern world endured by humanity today are sent so we will understand that there is no choice: we must discover the overall system and enter into it.

We must bestow good upon the world, and then we will discover the entire system, the system of mutual bestowal, the good thoughts and desires called the soul. This system is one for all of us, one general soul.

It is specifically the wisdom of Kabbalah that makes it possible for us to discover it; it prepares a person for good reciprocal relationships, for a positive influence on everyone. And then a person is included in this system, reveals it, and accordingly begins to make useful, corrected actions, work on correcting the world, advancing the world to a good state.

In the future, all the inhabitants of the world will have this ability, and all of humanity will become one union, kindly influencing all thoughts and hearts, maintaining our good relationships. And all of us will become one system, one person; after all, we all  have only one soul.

Finding Your Soul

laitman_277Question: What happens to the soul after the corporeal body dies?

Answer: The soul has no relation to the corporeal body; therefore, saying it exists in our body is absolute ignorance.

A person doesn’t have a soul. It appears only after he exits his egoism and becomes incorporated in others. After all, when he invests himself in others, cares about them, and serves them, the feeling of being melted and integrated in humanity appears in him. This feeling of melting into others and the attribute of love and bestowal unto others is called a soul.

Does a person have it? Any one of us can ask this question, but first he has to simply look at himself and at what he is engaged in from morning till evening, what his problems and his worries are, and accordingly he will understand how far he is from the revelation of his soul.

The soul is in others and not inside a person. We were given life in order to exit our self love and reach the love of others. If a person fulfills the transformation of himself, of his feelings, thoughts, joys, fears and aspirations, he acquires a soul.

When merging with others he begins to feel a different existence, a new level, a new dimension called the next world, the soul, the revelation of the Creator.

He has to attain this level while living in his corporeal body. In this case the body enables him to fulfill the transition from worrying about himself to worrying about others.

This isn’t a socialist philosophy but a practical method of the transition from the corporeal body into a spiritual one. The corporeal body is called egoism and the spiritual body is called altruism, bestowal.

Therefore during the life of our corporeal body we are given such an incredible opportunity. The body is absolutely neutral and exists only in order to allow us to perform the transformation from egoism to altruism, and then it can quietly die.

If I manage to fulfill this transformation, I acquire a spiritual body, and if not, I die just like any other beast, because in this state I am considered a beast. But when I acquire the soul and exist above my ego, I enter a state called a human being.

Torah For All Times

laitman_527_05Question: The Torah was written for its time. Did people who read it in that era understand what it is about?

Answer: The Torah was written for all times, but when it was written, people were on its levels and thus the instructions in the Torah were implemented without a problem. Thus they ascended from one level to the next.

In other words, what we believe to be a 40 year journey in the desert is an ascent from Malchut to Bina, which was a serious test for the people, but which they managed to overcome. Therefore Moses wrote everything for them and they processed it. He wrote and compiled the Torah according to the attainment of the levels they had been through.

Therefore all the events described in the Torah up to the entering the land of Israel, are levels of attainment.

But you shouldn’t think that those who entered the land of Israel were on a higher level than Moses even though it seems they attained it, it was simply such a level. It is just like in our world where experts are divided according to their profession and how much they know, according to their attainment, and their post, like a doctoral student, a doctor, a university lecturer, and a professor. It is the same thing here.

There is no greater prophet than Moses, and no one has spoken with the Creator face to face like he did.

Comment: But Moses didn’t participate in the building of the Temple.

Answer: It doesn’t matter. Everything described in the Torah afterward is fulfilled as the correction of the next level that isn’t perfect yet. It undergoes the state of ascent to the world of Atzilut and only in our times, when we begin to get accustomed to and to perceive the levels of ascent does the ascent to the world of Atzilut take place in order to later descend.

This means that our ascent is the right continuation of Moses’ path in the desert (in the ascent to Bina). When we ascend to Bina now, we will have to undergo the same states, including the exiles of Egypt and Babylon. Thus there is still a lot of hard serious work ahead of us, but we will undergo it for the third time already.

After the first ascent there was the destruction of the first Temple, of the first four levels called the kings of HGT (Daat, Hesed, Gevura and Tifferet).

Then the second Temple was built, which means the ascent from the destruction, the kings of TNHY (the lower part of Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut). Now there is the ascent to the building of the third Temple and the descent of the level of Atzilut to the level of our world.

Therefore it says that the third Temple includes the two previous Temples. This means that everything that ascended and was destroyed for its sake is taken into account during the correction of the third Temple, which means in our desires, attributes, and intentions. They were destroyed for this purpose so we could create the right connection from their shards.

Me And The General Soul

laitman_542Question: On one hand, we are all one soul connected into one body. On the other hand, who am I with my personal character, my tastes, and my habits? Don’t I exist?

Answer: Now, you only exist in the corporeal sense like any corporeal body in our world. If you want to know your real form, you have to rise to a higher level where you exist in your real form, where your spirit is, not your corporeal body.

If you attain it, you will attain the upper world, a new level of existence where you are connected to everyone, you influence everyone and everyone influences you, feelings and thoughts, in positive mutual influence on each other.

There you exist positively influencing all of the parts of the system that are called the individual souls that are connected into one soul, one system.

Baal HaSulam wrote in the article, “600,000 Souls“: “… there is indeed only one soul in the world, as it is written (Genesis, 2:7), ‘and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.’ The same soul exists in all the children of Israel, complete in each and every one, as in Adam haRishon, since the spiritual is indivisible and cannot be cut—which is rather a trait of corporeal things.

“Yet, saying that there are 600,000 souls and sparks of souls appears as though it is divided by the force of the body of each person. In other words, first, the body divides and completely denies him of the radiance of the soul, and by the force of the Torah and the Mitzva, the body is cleansed, and to the extent of its cleansing, the common soul shines upon him.”

We are in a state in which we all are connected into one soul, and there is nothing other than that soul. However, this is on condition that we feel this one soul, the connection between us. We exist in this connection, but we don’t feel it because everyone hates the other and is repulsed by them.

Therefore, instead of one soul that connects us into one, in which we feel a perfect eternal life, we feel something else that is opposite to that: our world. The word “world” (Olam) stems from the Hebrew word “concealed” (Alama).

It is as if we are in a state of concealment, in the dark, and it seems that we exist in a corporeal world in which there are the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels of nature, and human beings, and we are in a continuous struggle with one another. But this is only how it seems to us.

This is called the “dream” world, our world, in which instead of one soul, we feel that we are in an imaginary world that appears before us now. And this is all because between us rule the evil forces in the form of our desires, attitudes, and relationships.

To the extent we return to good relations between us, we will discover that this world doesn’t exist and that this is all one soul, and we are in it in a perfect eternal state.

Europe’s Hysteria

Laitman_727Question: After the events in Paris, a real hysteria started in Europe. Two Air France flights headed from the United States to Paris were diverted  because of terrorism threats, fears of terrorist bombing caused the canceling of a soccer match between Germany and Holland, which the Chancellor of Germany was to attend.

In Paris, ceaseless gunfire exchanges occurred, Russia bombed Syria, and Brussels was paralyzed from fear of terrorist attacks in the city center. Will it continue this way?

Answer: Nothing will change! The world is moving forward according to the system to increasing convergence. If the convergence is organized correctly with good mutual cooperation between people, then it will be good.

It needs to be accompanied by positive participation with the system of unity and connection, not through our egosim which causes clashes between us.

We only need to learn how to bring people closer so that they will rise above their egoism without fighting among themselves because that won’t help! The previous generation fought, this generation fights, and the next generation will fight!

Question: What solution would you suggest to resolve this conflict?

Answer: In my rosiest dreams, I would like to see the UN, the G8, G20, and other organizations and forums force Israel to unite and, in this way, attract the entire world after it to a complete unification!

Nothing else is needed. There is no need to blame the Jews for being the reason for what is bad in the world, but there is a need to force them to unite so that they will become the reason for the entire world to unite.

Even if the nation of Israel would just begin to listen to us a little, then the entire world would immediately feel relief, and the terrorists would stop killing! That is the answer to your question. I see the general system, and that is the way it is structured.

You want everything to change for the better, then put the force of good into it. It will come only through connection and unity between the Jews!
