Following The Spiritual Leaders

Laitman_115In the spiritual world death precedes the birth of the next level. This previous step is fulfilled and like as in a rocket, totally separates from the system.

There were times in history when the death of a leader led to the destruction of the whole nation, as was the case after the death of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, the author of The Book of Zohar that was concealed from humanity for many years.

The righteous one had fulfilled his mission, but did the following generations continue his work? That already depended on the general state of the world and on its willingness to advance.

The same thing happened after the death of Baal HaSulam, who died in 1954. He was survived by a small group of students headed by his son, who continued to study in seclusion. It was only about half a century later, a long period of time, that new students began to join them.

In principle, all this is a very complex system, which cannot be understood in advance.

Cherish The Friends, No Matter What

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In the workshops, I try to carry out all the rules, to raise the friends in my eyes, but at some point very negative thoughts come about stupidity and worthlessness. How should I deal with such manifestations of egoism?

Answer: In spite of everything, try to cherish your great friends. In response to these attempts, the Light that Reforms will come. And when it shines, you will see that they really are great.

This requires inner work. I look at the friends: they came to the lesson at night, then they go to work, they have families and children, each has many problems, everyone is tired, exhausted, run down at the end of the week.

Therefore, I appreciate my friends very much. And here I see that I am far from their level of effort. Each of them puts forth enormous extraordinary effort. How can I, not respect them after all this?  It is only with them that I will be able to sail to the spiritual shores, to the new world.

It turns out that it is not difficult to perceive them as great friends.

Question: Over time it becomes increasingly harder to convince myself of this—until I reveal that I simply cannot.

Answer: Of course, one is unable to. I am a zero, a rag (smartoot), nothing. And from this manifests one thing—what King David felt when he stood naked before the Creator and made a covenant with Him. If I descend to the bottom in my eyes, there I reveal my connection with the Creator. And then I can immediately turn to Him and receive an answer.

Question: Does it mean that the flow of the negative thoughts needs to erode so far that I will cry out for help?

Answer: We don’t aspire to this state purposely. On the contrary, I work on connection with the friends, wanting to reveal the unity with the Creator in them, and then I reveal the opposite. But I cannot aspire to that, I must strive only for perfection.

Question: If I feel like a rag, if negativity takes over, how does one move over to the correct aspiration?

Answer: With the support of the friends and without departing from the timetable (schedule) the group follows.

The Wisdom Of Kabbalah And Religions

laitman_567_01Question: How is the wisdom of Kabbalah related to Judaism? Which of the religions today is closest to the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: Modern Judaism appeared about 2,000 years ago when the Jews fell from the level of “love thy friend as thyself” to the level of unfounded hate.

The people lost the feeling of the upper world, which means that the wisdom of Kabbalah was lost. Until then the people lived entirely in two dimensions, in feeling the two worlds!

Before the destruction of the Second Temple, until 2,000 years ago, the Jewish people lived in the feeling of the upper world. A totally different world was revealed to them! But they fell into unfounded hatred and the feeling of the upper world disappeared, instead Judaism as we know it today replaced it, i.e., keeping simple customs, which exists to this day.

Other than Judaism there are nearly 3,800 religions, faiths, and methods today that are called “spiritual.” None of them has anything to do with the wisdom of Kabbalah because they are all based on a person’s ego.

We can clearly see that they are intended to dividing people between themselves, while the wisdom of Kabbalah aims to connect people and raise man above his egoistic nature.

The wisdom of Kabbalah isn’t a religion. A Kabbalist doesn’t believe in anything. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, faith is the attribute of bestowal. If a person acquires the attribute of bestowal, he reveals the upper world to the extent that he possesses this attribute.

Faith that a person has in our world is being told something and believing what he has been told. This is not faith in the Creator, but faith in a person who has told him about the Creator. The wisdom of Kabbalah negates this approach.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is a science! It reveals the upper world according to the law “a judge only has what his eyes can see.” This means that a person has to discover the upper world and only what you reveal do you have the right to speak about.

The Reason For The Myths Surrounding Kabbalah

laitman_249-03Question: Why are there so many myths about the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: The problem is that the wisdom of Kabbalah speaks in four languages. A normal person doesn’t understand the simplest language through which it presents everything.

But when we begin to train with the help of this special method, a person begins to descend into the depths of the concepts within the wisdom of Kabbalah, and then he begins to discover four special approaches in this language and he begins to hear and to see the inner meaning in it.

And someone who doesn’t study, but just reads what is written, he merely sees stories, tales, and legends.

The Torah (Bible) is written, in general, in a simple language, and everyone understands it as it is written. But, in fact, within it lie secret meanings known only to Kabbalists; moreover, it is impossible to reveal this to others; everyone must see and feel this for themselves.

So for thousands of years a multitude of myths have appeared around the wisdom of Kabbalah. And the Kabbalists wrote in a confusing way, not only because they wanted to conceal the wisdom of Kabbalah, but also because it was impossible to express what they felt and discovered in the upper world more clearly. So it follows that in principle the wisdom of Kabbalah is to blame for there being so many myths surrounding it.

Question: Did the Kabbalists intentionally confuse people?

Answer: No, not at all. But since they wrote about a world which we know nothing about, people began to imagine the upper world in physical giuses: as if people were people, animals were animals, and all kinds of objects and the whole situation, to an ordinary person it seems as if it is happening in this world.

But in reality, it is all a completely different system; one simply needs to study it. Kabbalists wrote for those people who want to study Kabbalah and ascend to the upper world. They had no other choice! That is how everything was designed.

When a person opens a Kabbalistic book, he or she can read all the words in it, but doesn’t understand anything. If I am not familiar with the upper world and read some description about it, I simply don’t know what it is saying. They use words of our world there, but what the author means, I don’t know.
