Aaron’s Light

Laitman_509The Torah, “Numbers,” Chapter 17:12 – 17:13: Aaron took [it], just as Moses had said, and he ran into the midst of the assembly, and behold, the plague had begun among the people. He placed the incense on it and atoned for the people. He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague ceased.

Question: What does “Aaron stood between the dead and the living” mean?

Answer: It’s the line to which Aaron transmits the Light of Bina onto the people. In this way Aaron protects those who are inside its Light; others are not protected. With this boundary, he does not give them the opportunity to get closer to the Light.

What does “the plague ceased” mean? Where the Light of Aaron is present, the Light of Hochma dressed in the Light of Hassadim also dwells; this condition allows people to gradually transition to unity.

Those who are below this level do not retain the internal light, the Light of Hassadim, in which the Light of Hochma dresses, and that’s why they clearly see that they don’t have the right to even come in contact with what is happening with Aaron. Thus, “the plague ceases” since these desires do not participate in the general movement.

They stop aspiring upward because Aaron stands between “the dead and the living,” i.e., draws the border (Parsa) between them. Corrupt desires understand that they cannot connect with the Creator. They are dead for connection.

This is how a Partzuf’s border is drawn in the place of the Tabur, the place where the common soul splits in two parts: the one capable of connecting with the Creator (the part where He manifests Himself through) and the other part that the Light is unable to enter.

  1. How do Kabbalists perceive corporeal bosses? If they have attained spirituality and yet still work for a wage in this corporeal world to pay for bills, support family, etc, how do they relate to their corporeal boss?
