The Truth About The Boycott Of Israel, Part 6

laitman_600_04Question: Will counter-initiatives help us in the struggle against the boycott?

Answer: What can we say? We are good children; we don’t deserve to be treated like this? People instinctively feel inside that we are the source of troubles. Some British student, who doesn’t know why he doesn’t like us, hates us. It simply seems to him that evil comes from us.

Question: How exactly would our unity change the situation?

Answer: Baal HaSulam wrote about this at the end of the “Introduction to The Book of Zohar.” Everything that is happening with the people of Israel extends to the nations of the world. For whether we want it or not, we are in contact with the source of the upper force. So if we accommodate to this power, then abundance will reach us from above and from us it will pass to all the peoples. And this will change their attitude to being friendly, more or less. If we give shape to good mutual relationships between us, creating a certain cohesion with the source of the Light, with the upper force, then we can really “pour” the positive and good force onto humanity, and then certainly the people will love us.

It is yet to come.

On the other hand, if we don’t unite appropriately, this will bring distance from the connection with the higher source and then we will convey the negative attitude to them and not the positive attitude. From us will flow emptiness and nothing more. In this case, the people will feel subconsciously that we have not responded to their inner expectations.

Unity – Protection From All Evil

laitman_943Baal HaSulam, “The Last Generation”: It is written, “The voice of the people is the voice of the Almighty.” Indeed, this means that according to reality, they have chosen the least of all evils, and to that extent they always follow the good path. However, of course we must change reality so they can accept the utterly complete path. And it is true that the power of keeping in the masses in general chooses for them a way according to the situation. For this reason, once they have corrupted the interpretation of Torah and Mitzvot [commandments], they have become rebellious. However, it is a sacred duty to find a true interpretation in society, and then it will be to the contrary: The power of keeping in the masses will coerce the keeping of Torah and Mitzvot.

If a society connects correctly within it, then it unites together and becomes a single organization, a single entity, a single force, a single property of mutual love. Specifically, the correct unity arouses the revelation of the higher force that is hidden in us, a characteristic of full bestowal and love called the Creator.

Unity protects us from our own self-interest! Every harmful force is within us. If we are directed against each other, if we don’t want to connect together, then we make it possible for our egoism to emerge, to develop within us, and to be revealed outside of us as external pressure in the form of all kinds of haters. We seemingly project them onto some kind of screen outside of us, and it seems to us that these are criminals, fascists, terrorists, drug pushers, murderers, and so forth. But this is in fact the projection of our inner characteristics; we haven’t “locked” ourselves onto love for each other and we have allowed them to develop freely. So now they apply pressure on us from the outside.

Only through our internal correction is it possible to balance this system and be released from the external evil.

Abstaining

laitman_527_01The Torah, Numbers 6:1 – 6:3: The Lord spoke to Moses saying: Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them: A man or woman who sets himself apart by making a nazirite vow to abstain for the sake of the Lord. He shall abstain from new wine and aged wine; he shall not drink [even] vinegar made from new wine or aged wine, nor shall he drink anything in which grapes have been steeped, and he shall eat neither fresh grapes nor dried ones.

A Nazirite (Nazir), a monk, is a person who takes a vow to dedicate himself to the Creator, and thus he abstains from consuming products that are related to wine or to grapes.

On the one hand, it is seemingly a good thing, and, in other cases, it is even necessary. However, on the other hand, it isn’t desirable since the goal of creation is to delight a person and all of humanity as one soul. It turns out that a monk actually refuses to receive pleasure.

If you refuse to consume something that is not Kosher—which means that isn’t fit for the correction of the filling, like non-Kosher meat or meat and milk, the right and the left lines without a Masach (Screen)—you simply cannot receive them with the intention of in order to bestow since you don’t have these powers.

At the end of correction, everything will be complete, and you will have these powers and be able to consume everything with the absolute attribute of bestowal. There will be no limitations, no commandments, and everything will belong to the past. The commandments are only actions of correction that are necessary as long as you have not corrected all the parts of your soul.

A monk, on the other hand, restricts himself and seems to say, “I will not correct this and that.” In this case, of course, it is much easier for him because he can be free of many actions, but he will have to make up for the lack of work under certain conditions and with certain desires. This is the reason that a monk must bring sacrifice and thus make up for the uncorrected part. This is a complex system, and everything depends on the quality of the soul.

Question: When we speak about food that isn’t Kosher, it is clear that we mustn’t consume it, but wine is Kosher.

Answer: Wine symbolizes a very high Light, the Light of Hochma. A monk understands that he cannot receive and use this Light in order to attain Hochma for the sake of the Creator, and in that case it will serve him in the opposite manner and intoxicate him like in the case of Shimshon-Nazir the monk who was forced to drink and got drunk, which means that he couldn’t receive the Light for his spiritual advancement and experienced a tragedy. This is the reason that a monk simply doesn’t work with this Light. We all can experience this state. On the whole, it is also clear that it is all about an internal state that has nothing to do with our physical attributes.

At The End Of The Generations

Laitman_006External scientific development caused and continues to cause harm to humanity, poisoning us with medicines, producing food that is harmful to our health, and through the media. Science began to work against people. But it is unclear why there is a ban on studying the wisdom of Kabbalah?

The fact is that after the destruction of the temple, the nation of Israel went into exile in order to integrate with the rest of the nations and “to connect the souls of the gentiles to them.” And the feeling of the exile had to be real. This means that the problem wasn’t the revelation of the wisdom of Kabbalah to the nations of the world, but that it not be revealed to the nation of Israel. It was specifically towards the nation of Israel that there was concealment of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

If Kabbalah had been revealed, then Israel wouldn’t have felt itself in exile. They would have understood that the exile was essential and they had to go through it and to suffer. They wouldn’t have felt helpless. The concealment had to be so great that people forgot everything.

It’s interesting that when the King of Spain issued an order to expel the Jews, they arrived at the palace of the king with the request to leave and offered generous payment for it. But the chief inquisitor, who was a Jew himself, got involved and didn’t allow the King to accept the ransom. Then Queen Isabella, who was present, told the Jews, “Don’t you understand that the hearts of kings are in the hands of the Lord! It is not we who are deporting you, but it comes from above, from the Creator.“

She had to explain it to them because they didn’t understand. This is called “exile,” when such darkness comes that a person loses all spiritual feeling and sinks within total darkness. It is said that Baal Shem Tov would go through such huge descents that he would even not recognize letters.

We had to go through all the stages of exile and separation from spirituality, and thus the Kabbalists concealed the internal Torah and left only the external. The external corporeal tradition have been preserved and passed on from generation to generation. The descent of the generations was only in internality and gradually they reached the state that the inner Torah was almost forgotten by the people of Israel, that is, the descent reached a complete zero. Baal HaSulam writes that in our generation there are Kabbalists. Where do we see them? We are left only with the external tradition, and the attainment of the internality has disappeared. This means that we have reached the end of the generations.

A Nation United By A Common Idea

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Where will the future society initially be founded?

Answer: Such a society must be founded in Israel by the Jewish people and those who join them. History shows us that this is a special nation that has already partly fulfilled the system of unity after the exodus from Egypt and for thousands of years since the receiving of the Torah until the destruction of the Second Temple. This nation has already been in this state.

Before the receiving of the Torah 500-600 years ago, some of the people in Babylon left it led by Abraham; they went through Egypt and underwent different events in becoming the nation of Israel. At first they were a small group of people who belonged to different tribes and sects who agreed to live under the condition of “love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Question: What does this agreement mean: is it recognition, an understanding, that there is no other choice? What pushed this group to decide to agree to such unity?

Answer: Several factors are involved here, which the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us about. The first and major factor is called Reshimo (recorded data), when people feel internally that they wish to attain the meaning of life, not of the corporeal earthly life but of the existence of the whole universe. This is the reason that such people get together and these are the people that Abraham called to follow him. They were not few, actually several thousands. Abraham led them to the land of Canaan and as thy advanced towards it they become increasingly more united and thus fulfilled the method of unity. This is how he founded a new nation that was not one of all the other nations in the world.

Basically there are 70 nations in the world. One may argue that there are three times as many countries in the world, but it makes no difference. It is about the roots of the nations, which are basically 70. The nation of Israel is an exception because it isn’t managed by the principle of corporeal physical existence but by the principle of the mutual spiritual connection between its people. This mutual connection raises people above all the corporeal differences and contradictions and connects them according to another virtue: complete mutual cooperation for the sake of revealing the attribute of love and bestowal among them.

Jewish Anti-Semitism, Part 2: Escape From Ourselves

Laitman_079_02Question: If there is a subconscious demand, inherent among the nations of the world that the Jews should provide them with a good future, why don’t the Jewish people themselves understand their inherent problem ?

Answer: The complaints are rooted in the nations of the world because without us they cannot attain happiness. They feel that the Jewish people cause them evil because what they deserve is not passing through to them. This feeling is even familiar among those who have never come in contact with Jews. For example, the Koreans hate Israel even though there is no logical explanation for it.

On the other hand, the Jews don’t know their mission. It isn’t taught to them; it isn’t explained to them. They are just trying to avoid trouble, and in the meantime they are escaping from their mission, from their obligation toward the entire world, an escape with which cannot be agreed with. The Kabbalists secretly transmitted knowledge about the role of the people for hundreds of years, and now the time has come to talk about it between ourselves and  the entire world.
