Purim Holiday: How Mordecai United Us

Guarantee Of Happiness

laitman_285_01Question: It was discovered that the social ties in our lives have a very strong influence on how happy we feel in life. If optimistic, joyful people surround me, they influence my mood and I feel happy.

The more friends I have, the better I feel. It even has a positive effect on health. It is clear that in having a lot of friends one can count on their support, such as assistance in applying for a job as well as with money.  Yet, why do public relations occupy such a central place among all of the factors influencing happiness?

Answer: That is the law of nature. All of its parts—starting with the smallest elementary particles in atoms to the enormous accumulations of matter, stars,  the entire, integrated ecological system, the whole symbiosis of still, vegetative, and animate nature—live and move only in one direction: toward increasingly sophisticated and complex compounds.

A degree of connection and communication between all of these parts of nature determines the level of life, feelings, impressions, and the ability to survive, to protect ourselves. The more developed communication is in the society, the greater is our ability to compensate and correct the problem in some systems at the expense of others.

We build them in the likeness of our body, which is able to balance itself and overcome problems, diseases, and viruses, and all of this is due to the large number of links. In any cell of the body, there is nothing special when viewed separately.

Since all of these cells are connected together by multilateral, reciprocal links, they always can support each other. There is always the opportunity to help troubled parts of the body within the system to overcome disease by restoring the balance in it.

The body constantly monitors all of its parts and allocates resources according to the degree of importance in each of them and the need for its existence. If we could move to the same form of relations in human society, it would reach complete equilibrium, a social and psychological well-balanced economy and a harmonious family.

There is a lack of the right connections in order to accomplish this. And, vice versa, you can see what other systems we need in order to make up the overall harmony based upon the links already built. Thus, the reciprocal connections begin their work in allowing us to know which parts of the system require more development to improve our environment, society, and the people in it.

How To Avoid A Hopeless Situation

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, “Leviticus”, 22:26 – 22:28: And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall remain under its mother for seven days, and from the eighth day onwards, it shall be accepted as a sacrifice for a fire offering to the Lord. An ox or sheep you shall not slaughter it and its offspring in one day.

This is speaking  about the corporeal part of a person’s desire and how it can be raised and corrected in relation to the previous level.

First, there is development in utero and then the period of suckling. A week is enough for an animal to receive and to adapt to a whole level of HGT NHYM, since an animal goes through only seven levels of development and not ten like man.

During the seven days (seven levels) the animal receives and adapts to everything from the upper level and detaches from it. It lives according to instinctive laws, and therefore a human being that is on the animal level works instinctively.

When you look at the world you see that everyone learns from others how to live and repeats what they see. Animals don’t have the three upper Sefirot that symbolize a head and therefore their head is on the same level as their body, not above it.

The same thing happens today, with a world that is currently on the animal level of development. Its head disappeared some ages ago when the real great minds disappeared.

Humanity evolves in a totally automatic manner, despite what scientists, philosophers, governments, bankers, or the masses say. They only pile up their meager  changes on every level of nature, but it does not at all change the perception of their evolution.

The critical moment was when man began to produce and earn more than needed. From that point onward, capitalism began to develop, but until that moment everything was simple and natural. Man lived by providing his basic necessities, not because he wanted to, but because there were no new technologies to help him.

But when man invented the plow that allowed him to plow deep into the ground, he began to engage in making pottery and metal working, which were opportunities to make greater profits than needed.

The added value inspired the ego and the ego began to spur the added value. Instead of the internal, moral, ethical development of man, the world turned in the direction of technological development and this was the turning point that determined the direction humanity would follow.

But today we are at the end of this path, where our technological development is collapsing and we are facing a hopeless situation. We must understand that we have to decrease our desires to a level that is suitable for a decent living. It is as in mathematics: a necessary and sufficient condition. This means that consumption should be sensible, while all our energy and options should be focused on attaining the upper goal and making ourselves human beings together with all of humanity.

Comment: It turns out that there is no choice, just like in Pushkin’s legend of The Fisherman and the Golden Fish. He should have stopped when he had the luxury palaces, but the old woman couldn’t and eventually she was left with nothing,. We are at that same point right now.

Answer: But we have the option of a soft landing. By using the wisdom of Kabbalah we can show humanity, in a good and sensible manner, what would happen if we don’t accept this method. Otherwise we will still fulfill the goal of creation, but in a hard way, through revolutions, wars, and problems.

We see how conflicts suddenly break out in a seemingly empty place. You just need to strike a match. There is great hatred in the world as everyone hates everyone else and therefore the tiniest spark can start a fire.

We have to do our very best to make the world understand that the Torah speaks about the improvement and modifications of man along a good, healthy, safe, smooth path of harmonious evolution. Haven’t we suffered enough that we don’t want that? Do we have to suffer a lot more in order to change our path towards positive evolution? Therein lies our problem.

Love Expands This Narrow World

Laitman_712_03Question: You said that the wisdom of Kabbalah is an internal part of the Torah. Does this mean that Kabbalah refers to religion?

Answer: Due to the study of Kabbalah, a person completely changes one’s perception of reality and begins to take a different attitude to one’s familiar concepts. The Torah refers to the use of force of the Inner Light, its correction, and rise above the current perception of reality.

The fact that a person reaches the love of neighbor, takes one out of his limited and confined world into a spacious, eternal, and higher world. This technique allows a person to really begin to live in a completely new world, and not just to psychologically calm oneself. A person moves from one world to another, changes one’s organs of perception that depict one’s entire worldview.

The Daughter Of The Priest

laitman_276_02The Torah, “Leviticus” 21:09: If a Cohen’s daughter becomes desecrated through adultery she desecrates her father; she shall be burned in fire.

“The Daughter Of The Priest” is the desire to receive, which comes from the highest degree. If it directed at for the sake of one’s own fulfillment (meaning “to dishonor herself”), then it must be destroyed, “burnt in the fire.”

Because the level of the desire “the priest’s daughter” can be cleansed not by stoning, not by killing or censure, but only by burning the intention of “for one’s own sake.” The desires themselves are not lost and do not change, only intentions change.

“Shall be burnt with fire” means that the court that changes the intention to be at the highest level, at the level of fire.

All the concepts mentioned above shouldn’t be grasped in human forms since even our world is portrayed for us like a picture on a computer screen that actually doesn’t exist: it is represented by electric charges on a fluorescent screen. And all the names of the alleged objects and phenomena are just a legend that arise in our minds that transform the electrical signals.

It is not until a person attains spirituality that he will understand what the Torah speaks about. We see and feel everything from within ourselves. There is nothing outside of us! The entire world is within me. So we are working on ourselves, imagining everything spoken about is within us. It is specifically in this way that we can begin to feel what is spoken about in the Torah and can grasp it.

Chapter 3: Corrections Through the Ages
The Evolution of the Correction Method

A New Era, A New Approach

The Kabbalists kept their studies secret. In secret chambers they developed a correction method that would be suitable for everyone, whenever needed. In small groups, sometimes alone, they studied and attained, but kept what they had learned and wrote mostly to themselves.

But one day in the 16th century, a young man by the name of Isaac Luria came to the Kabbalist town of Safed in Northern Israel. His arrival marked the start of a new era in the evolution of the correction method. Through his prime student, Chaim Vital, Isaac Luria—known today as the Holy ARI—detailed a completely new approach to the wisdom of Kabbalah. His seemingly technical explanations of the structure of the spiritual system, and his systematic, precise descriptions gradually became the prevailing study method among Kabbalists.

The ARI’s prime disciple, Rabbi Chaim Vital, diligently wrote what his teacher had dictated. After the passing of Rabbi Vital, his son began to publish those writings, the most notable of which are Tree of Life and Eight Gates. In time, those compositions became the foundation of today’s predominant method of Kabbalah study, the Lurianic Kabbalah, named after Isaac Luria, the ARI.
