The Reduction In Facebook Audience

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from RT.com): “Facebook’s ascent to global domination has slowed in recent months as the social media giant has struggled to keep users confronted with ever-increasing online options interested.

“In the past six months, some nine million people in the United States and two million in the United Kingdom have left the networking site. Over the past month alone six million Americans have tuned out, a four per cent fall, according to a report from The Guardian citing the analysis firm SocialBakers.

“Americans are also spending less time engaged in their experience, with people browsing Facebook an average 121 minutes a month in December 2012 then 115 minutes in February of this year.”

My Comment: Everything in the world has its own lifespan because our desire is growing quantitatively and, most importantly, qualitatively. Undoubtedly, people will find tiredness and limitation of social networks as fulfillment, as in their time they became tired of television.

All this leads us to the need for “internal” communication through a common natural network that connects our desires and thoughts. But for that we need to stop “inflating” each other in social networks and to reveal ourselves and become closer.

Can The War Save The World?

Would The War Save The World? In the News (from Banki.ru All-RSS.com):The Economic crisis is not over yet, on the contrary, it deepens. Since the traditional recipes to fight the crisis does not work, the American economist Paul Farrell offers unconventional way out of the recession. He believes that to save the world from the crisis can be the new big war. Fortunately, this proposal is a lot of opponents among economists.
“However, this theory is a lot of opponents.

“’To draw Parallels with the great depression and the current crisis is very fashionable. However, those who do it, forget that some of the country out of recession, and some, on the contrary, almost ruined,’ – recalls the chief economist of the AFK ‘Sistema’ Evgeny Nadorshin. “In his opinion, the military conflict will not be able to lead the world out of the state of economic decline.

“Small war like the Iraq and Afghan not give a significant economic effect. A large-scale war will lead to the so terrifying consequences that the world economy as a whole still will not grow,” – says Nadorshin.
“The effect of the war is that it creates a strong demand for production.
“’Now in the world there is no demand, as the governments of many countries there is no possibility to create it. Developed States came to a crisis of 2008, with huge accumulated debts,’ – explains Nadorshin.

“However, to create a demand can be and peaceful methods. As an example of such methods, the expert cites green technologies.

“’The economic effect of the introduction of these technologies will be such that no war can be compared,’ says Nadorshin.

“An indirect confirmation of his words is the fact that simultaneously with the growth of GDP, Iranian campaign caused the US national debt triple.”

My Comment: The war, global, nuclear is possible if humanity will not have enough “peaceful” suffering to understand the need for a radical restructuring through “Integral Education and Upbringing.” The feeling of suffering from our gravedigger-egoism must be such that we really want to get rid of it completely and permanently. It is not difficult to imagine how unbearable this suffering has to be so that everyone wishes to get rid of its source: egoism.

But this decision can be reached by “brainwashing,” that is, by studying the inevitability of change of our egoistic nature, the harm of egoism, the creation of powerful public opinion, and so on. In this case the transition is smooth, quick, and easy, without destruction and disasters. But will we have enough common sense to test integral education?

The Convention In New Jersey: United Into The One

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: The unity convention in New Jersey is coming soon. We understand that everything depends on preparation. How do our friends throughout the world need to get ready for this meeting?

Answer: First of all, we connect in the convention in order to reach unity, Arvut, merger between us—all those conditions are required to discover the upper force that controls the world and constructs all of reality. This is the goal of learning the wisdom of Kabbalah. It is designed specifically in order to find this upper force. The wisdom of Kabbalah is the revelation of the upper force to the created beings, as Baal HaSulam writes in the article, “The Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah”: “This wisdom is no more and no less than a sequence of roots, which hang down by way of cause and consequence, by fixed, determined rules, interweaving to a single, exalted goal described as ‘the revelation of His Godliness to His creatures in this world.’”

This is the reason that we gather at a convention: to build the conditions through which the Creator will be revealed. The discovery of the Creator to the created beings is the goal of the wisdom of Kabbalah. This is realized through the unity between us. This is what we want to attain at a convention, and we must think about this.

The force that we discover is the force of bestowal and love. The “Creator” is the foundation of bestowal and love. He is the good and benevolent because benevolence is the characteristic of someone who does good. And “there is none else besides the good who does good.”

To reveal Him, we also need to acquire two details  of perception:

·       There is no one except us, united as one person with one heart;
·       Each one of us is good and benevolent for all the others.

In this way, we create a “place” where the Creator can be discovered according to the law of equivalence of form. When relationships between us are adjusted to the principle of the “good who does good,” then the upper Good who Does Good will be manifest among us. This is how we will reveal the Creator in the created beings by becoming  Shechinah, meaning the “place” where He dwells.

This is what we want to discover throughout the world in the convention that will be held in another week. This is what we must prepare ourselves for.

It must be said that the convention will be unique in its scope. A wide variety of participants will be gathered there, and this is good. Diversity gives power to unity.

I hope that we can connect properly and that all of us feel that we belong to that unity to which we must return; to be integrated, to be like one again. Then, within this common unity, the one Creator will be discovered, and the discovery of this upper force will solve all of our problems, both physical and spiritual.

Assertively Cutting Off All Ties

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, “Exodus, Jethro,” 19:16 – 19:19: And it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud upon the mount, and sound of a shofar exceedingly loud; so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.

And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mount.

And Mount Sinai was altogether in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire; and the smoke ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount trembled greatly.

And when the voice of the shofar sounded long, and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

Everything that is described in the Torah happens within us. The above excerpt describes the first appearance of the property of bestowal that a person feels inside his properties. They are are still egoistic and contrary to bestowal, but at the same time, they already aspire to similarity, to uniting with these properties, and start to feel that it is something valuable and superior. Inside these qualities, we keep re-assessing our values. However, this process is accompanied by the fear of losing and devastating our internal egoism: “What shall I be left with? Where is my family? Where are my loved ones? How can I possibly give them up?”

After all, we are attached to this world by the threads of various connections. Something is closer to me, something is farther; this one I love, the other one I hate.… Everything is compartmentalized. Our whole existence is about these threads. This is how our lives are set up.

Only a few people are able to decisively cut these liaisons off and will see what  happens next. For us, it’s worse than death since we completely lose self-control. Our egoism cannot tolerate it. This sensation can be compared with the birth process when a little child goes out of his mother’s womb and happens to be in the world that completely separates him from her. Can you imagine somebody who gives us life being cut off? It’s as if being deprived of oxygen.

What’s next? No more egoistic anticipations, no dreams of the future…, There is nothing to which you are accustomed to!

Question: So, does it mean that the training we go through does not prepare us for this stage?

Answer: A preparation period is meant to make you understand that you are not ready yet. Animals that live next to us do not comprehend these issues. This condition can be felt only by the property called “man” in us; it has nothing to do with the property of the “animal” in us. A preparation period is essential to lift us to the level at which we start feeling these nuances. Otherwise, why would this revelation happen, relative to whom?

The awareness of our oppositeness and unpreparedness is already an attainment. We begin realizing that the property of bestowal is contrary to us, that we are not there yet, or that we simply don’t understand it (negation of negation). Thus, we advance.

A System Without Defects

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Light and the Kli, opposed to each other in the world of Infinity, enter each other, build from their integration a system, and evolve downward so as to shape the conditions for our development here, at the bottom.

In the end, everything is derived from the way the Lights and the vessels mutual complete each other. The path that spreads out before me doesn’t leave room for useless questions: “Do I want to?” or “Am I ready?” This is just a style of speaking, our “slang.” In fact, everything is built in an ideal form, everything has been considered down to the last detail.

There is no need for resentment and anger. We are found within a system of the four phases of the Direct Light, spiritual worlds and levels, and we learn about its details, its mechanisms. All the necessary means and forces are available to me. I can use them provided that I am fulfilling my role. My role is to determine exactly what I must be doing now and realize it simply and clearly.

No great intelligence is required here. Everyone can do it because these are the most foolish, simple activities. Therefore, whoever is more “foolish,” less sophisticated, he is more successful.

To Wash “Our “Garments” In The Light Of Hassadim

Dr. Michael LaitmanAnd all the people answered together, and said: ‘All that the Lord hath spoken we will do.’ And Moses reported the words of the people unto the Lord.

And the Lord said unto Moses: ‘Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and may also believe thee forever.’ And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord.

And the Lord said unto Moses: ‘Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,

And be ready against the third day; for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai. (The Torah, “Exodus,” “Jethro,” 19:8 – 19:11)

We begin to come in contact with the attribute of bestowal, to be attracted to it, and to absorb it from its highest point that is called “Moses” (from the word “Moshech” or ” to move,” to pull”), which pulls itself from within the ego. In this way it receives upper energy, an upper attribute, and thus begins to feel in what way it is now possible to continue to work for the bestowal to the Creator.

He begins to acquire the same absolute attribute, like the Creator, Whom he is now facing. He feels the Creator, but still doesn’t belong to Him. They are joined, but in an external way.

A person understands that he now needs all of his egoistic attributes so that as much as he is able, he will pull them to him, to strongly pull within the point in the heart which is in contact with the Creator, to enter gradually within it from his ego, to connect, to add the entire nation, those attributes that he left for a while, within the point that is called “Moses.”

For this reason they need to go through a certain period of final preparation: three days of detachment from their ego and correction of their external attributes, so-called “garments.”

In each one of us there are five levels: the root (Shoresh), the soul (Neshama), the body (Guf), the clothing (Levush) and the palace (Eichal). The inner part, the root, soul and body, we already corrected. Without that, we wouldn’t have departed from Egypt, the point in the heart wouldn’t have detached from the ego. And now, we need to correct the clothing, so-called “garments” on the soul, and afterwards also the palace, the rest of the attributes of the world.

The first three discernments are: the root, the soul, the body. That is, if we express it in a picturesque way, then in the beginning we correct all that exists in my body, in the flesh, my inner part. And the clothing is what is on me. That is what I exchange, what I can take off and wear. The palace is the rest of the world.

“And they washed their garments” means to wash the uncorrected attributes with the Light of Hassidim and to correct them.

Towards Love Above The Ego

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee)”: This means that each and every one in Israel would take it upon himself to care and work for each member of the nation, and to satisfy all their every needs, no less than the measure imprinted in him to care for his own needs.

And once the whole nation unanimously agreed and said, “We shall do and we shall hear,” each member of Israel became responsible that nothing shall be missing from any other member of the nation. Only then did they become worthy of receiving the Torah, and not before.

With this collective responsibility, each member of the nation was liberated from worrying about the needs of his own body and could keep the commandment, “Love thy friend as thyself” in the fullest measure, and give all that he had to any needy person, since he no longer cared for the existence of his own body, as he knew for certain that he was surrounded by six hundred thousand loyal lovers, who were standing ready to provide for him.

If we understand that to reach spirituality and receive all the good is possible only if we connect, then the Light that Reforms begins to influence us. It acts such that I stop being concerned for myself because everyone is concerned for me. The main thing here is to attune yourself correctly to summon the Light that we can direct towards each of us as if we had a torch.

My egoistic motives demand that I form a connection with others. When I connect with them, it seems as if I am letting go of myself and am concerned for them as I can’t attain what I want otherwise. This is exactly the way everyone acts, so by aspiring to discover the Creator, who is within the group, through the connection between us, in this way we attract the Light that Reforms.

A question can be raised here: Why does it arrive if we are still egoists? What are the higher laws of nature according to which it’s discovered? We all want to receive for ourselves: “Bring me this world. Bring me the next world.” It may seem that in either the Light, meaning pleasure, itself must reach us, or darkness, if there were some kind of valve that exists in spirituality, which realizes the necessary conditions for being altruistic.

But the idea is that we surrender ourselves to each other. We learn together, we carry out shared tasks together, and in spite of our ego, the Light does its work. But it arrives first not as pleasure, but as correction. Thus we are changed—thanks to work within the group we bow our heads before each other for selfish reasons.

With an approach like this there is no lack of agreement, it’s open and very honest. It’s possible to talk a lot about love of the other, but it’s necessary to judge according to the facts. We are dominated by the ego, but we accept a condition that obligates us to aspire for love. Why? It’s because we expect a reward.

In the future, the whole world will correct relationships between people, taking into the account the gain it will bring. Everyone will hope to benefit from relationships based on love, and at the same time the Light that Reforms will pass to them through us and not the darkness that would arrive if not for the use of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Likewise, a person, who already understands this and hasn’t learned enough yet, is not sufficiently included within the group, and ultimately will receive darkness instead of correction, and will flee. And the opposite, if someone were to give of himself one hundred percent, then he would never feel darkness and descent. Even though he might have additional difficulties on the way, he would work with everything in the right way and would be corrected by the Light.

In fact, as Baal HaSulam writes, that in the middle way, by way of the middle line, one experiences falls, deviations to the right and to the left, ascents, and descents. This is called “normal” progress; it’s not ideal, but not too terrible either.

Choosing Between Two Books

Dr. Michael LaitmanIf a person has a strong will to attribute everything to the benefit of the Creator, it is a good thing, and he can pray to fulfill this yearning. To want to use all his desire to receive in order to bestow means to be written in the book of the righteous.

However, if he has a strong will to use everything for his self-benefit, it isn’t so bad either since here, everything is clear, and a person can understand the desires he has. He can pray for his desire to receive asking to record him in the book of the wicked who are doomed to death, which means that he wants to annul his ego.

He chooses in which book he wants to be recorded. But if he wants both and finds it hard to decide which one to prefer, it is already a problem. He must try to be in this unclear state as little as possible. Wanting to work for the Creator but, at the same time, to take a little for himself is very dangerous. If a person doesn’t fight against this split state, he can remain in the undecided state for many years, unable to prefer one side over the other.

He may think that he has received a bit from one side and a bit from the other, and so it is okay to wait, and everything will be alright. This is the worst possible state.

It means that a person must try to determine his state with the help of his exertion in the group and the influence of the environment so that he will know that he is wicked and will want to destroy his ego, that is, will want to be recorded in the book of the wicked who are doomed to death. This is called the First Restriction.

Then, he will want to be sentenced to life, being able to work in order to bestow, which means that he will be recorded in the book of the righteous. There must be a very strong request for the intention of in order to bestow upon the Creator so that a person at least will see that he only worries about his self-benefit.
